The food is decent and there's a nice variety of options on the menu. Unfortunately, they only serve Eggs Benedict on the weekend. The Pat's Corned Beef hash was good (7/10 rating). Prices are a bit higher for what it is but it's pretty standard for the area I'm guessing due to its closeness to the tourist attractions. Where are all these good reviews coming from? Not a great experience. The guy upfront wasnt at all welcoming nor friendly. Also buddy are we still chin diapering? The mask is either on your face or not. The phone also kept ringing and he kept picking up the phone to hang up. On the 5th ring he answered and lo and behold it was a takeout order. Why is it written on the menu 'food is made to order so it takes time' - kinda passive aggressive, I know how food works. Water came with our food, 30ish min after we sat down. We have been to Pat's Cafe many times over the years. Food is always delicious and fresh, and service is quick. The cafe is on the small side, so sometimes there is a wait to get in. Get there early for quick seating. The walls of Pat's Cafe are covered with original art work that is for sale. All are local artists and scenes. Although we now live on the east coast, we make it a point to go the Pat's when we are in San Francisco. read more

Visited Pat's for breakfast on our last day in San Francisco. We were looking to pack in a good breakfast before heading for the airport. Place was packed so I knew it had to be a good spot. It sure was indeed! Bright and vibrant decor inside. Decent sized dining area and also outdoor seating available. Hostess seated us quickly and was very personable. All staff was friendly and attentive. Food hit the table quickly, hot and delicious! Ordered a large OJ as well which was very good and not watered down like you get at some places. Pancakes were super good and huge. Real maple syrup was another major plus. You also don't always get uncut maple syrup. Thick when poured and not runny!! We left stuffed and totally satisfied. Most definitely PaT's Cafe is a five place. We were visiting San Francisco for a few days, our hotel was a 3 minutes walking distance. The Cafe is located in a nice neighborhood, we loved the Cafe so much! that we had our fabulous breakfast 4 times there. The coffee and the menu options is amazing, they serve sourdough bread toast and is SO good . We were a party of 3, and we all were so happy with our breakfast every time we went there. The staff is customer service oriented , they made us feel welcomed. I want to mention that our server Ricardo was so nice, friendly and helpful, he was specially patient :) with my sister, she changed her order a few times. 'The Cafe is cozy' , the food is amazing, so tasty, just like home made, (congratulations to the guys in the kitchen) and the service all together five star! Pat the owner, nice lady, was there with her cute dog, Pat has created a very nice team at the Cafe. We were visiting from Houston, TX and Mexico City. I'm not kidding this is the best tuna sandwich / melt I've ever had. I'm from Nebraska originally and I've always loved tuna, but oh my God I've never had such a good tuna sandwich. Nowadays coming out of the pandemic and finding an original SF hole-in-the-wall cafe/diner is challenging but Pat's is it! Good real breakfast brunch lunch food is delicious! Excuse the half eaten plate... the camera did not eat first. This place is in such a great location that is always ready to seat you. The waiters were super nice and on top of it. They brought anything we asked super quick. The food was amazing. I got the pancake combo and got it with chocolate pancakes. It was so good. Most tourists head further south towards Little Italy but this cafe in the North Beach area had everything you want for a delicious and reasonably priced breakfast. Coffee was delicious!! The eggs were poached perfectly and the crab cakes were really good. Nice sized portion. 2. Biscuits and Gravy: Eh. My biggest complaint was - they didn't use real biscuits.
