My partner brought me here for brunch on a Saturday morning and the atmosphere is loud, chaotic, jovial - a nice American style diner! We were seated pretty quickly, and I knew immediately what I wanted - French toast! It was AMAZING! The toast was cooked to perfection while still retaining a nice firm texture - so often French toast can become soggy and weighed down! It was the star of the show, my partner fully agrees. She ordered the 2 egg breakfast which comes with home fries and toast - classic! We both got sunny side up eggs which were cooked PERFECTLY, and she was VERY happy with hers! The food was a great value as well - a bit over $30 for both of us! We didn't order any, but the cocktail menu looked amazing - were just not morning cocktail people! Really loved their house hollandaise sauce! Rich, creamy, and delicious. French Toast Special - My friend chose to get this with scrambled egg and sausages. The egg and sausages were side characters, the French Toast was clearly the star. I haven't had a baguette type French Toast in a while, and this one was made well. Loved it! We found Pat's when Visiting town over Christmas week. Ate breakfast almost everyday. Tasty food. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Both the food and the service were impeccable. The veggie omelet had perfectly cooked brocoli, spinach, diced fresh tomatoes, and the perfect amount of feta cheese. Each and every bite a delight. $4.95 fruit cup substitution is worth it. The outdoor seating was quickly arranged; they pushed two tables together. Two waiters checked in on us: three times for coffee and water refills, plus a refresh of hot water for tea. The coffee was good; I am a coffee snob from Seattle. If you are staying in a nearby hotel, I highly recommend this cafe. I burnt my thumb on the hideous off brand Keurig machine in the hotel. Save yourself the trauma and get your coffee here--in a place where you can linger and savor your experience. We will return here. read more

My husband and I were in San Francisco celebrating our 25th anniversary and my birthday. We were hungry and looking for a good breakfast spot. This place did not disappoint. The staff was amazing, friendly, and fast! Very attentive to all their tables. My husband was hooked on their coffee from the first cup. Nice and strong! The entire menu looks amazing so it was hard to decide what to eat. I went with the crepes with seasonal fruit and my husband got the El ranchero. We ate every last bite! My compliments to the chef. The restaurant was nice and clean and they even had an option to sit outside. However that seems to be the best seats in the house because they were very popular. I give it 5 stars because Pat herself is always there dining at her table against the wall near the register and she wears this uber cool red vest with matching red star earrings. It's such an honor to have an owner actually assist you to your table, hand you the menus, and actually eats their own establishment's cooking. The fact that I've seen Pat every time I've eaten here speaks volume about her passion for her business. Pat's is a solid choice for breakfast/brunch and the line doesn't get too crazy. I know everyone usually likes to go to Mama's nearby, which don't get me wrong is delicious in itself, but Pat's is also a heavy contender on the North Beach brunch scene! The decor is really cute with local artwork on the walls and plenty of colorful flowers. The staff here are so friendly and they're very dilligent about filling your water or your coffee! I had the Polk St. omelette, it's basically a Denver omelette with bacon added. It comes with house potatoes and toast of your choice. Solid choice in my book! The french toast was moist and thick! They have real maple syrup upon request and give you generous portions. The bacon was crisped to perfection, where it just melts in your mouth and although my scrambled eggs were over cooked everything else made up for it. They offer a variety of juices and teas and the service is great. Always stopping by to check in and see how your meal is coming along. I had high hopes for this spot. There was a line at the door which is normally a good sign. We waited 50 minutes after being seated to get our food. We felt rushed when ordering our food and the waiter was not friendly at all. The food was ok once we were able to eat. There was a friendly guy with a man-bun that helped us tab out since our waiter disappeared at the end. If you are in the area I'd recommend visiting Eight AM instead. We randomly found this place on maps so we decided to try it out. We were there a few minutes before opening and there were already people waiting outside. Once they opened (a minute or two after the posted opening time), we were sat right away and the one server handled everyone that was there without batting an eye. We ordered eggs, corn beef hash, and coffee. Everything came out quickly, was hot , and just overall good quality. We were even offered a "to go" cup for our last coffee refills.
