Very bad experience at this bar. I've seen multiple bad reviews about one bartender in particular, he had muscles and tattoos. He was extremely rude and aggressive. I asked for a tequila soda and he gave me a vodka soda, I politely asked him if he could remake my drink after I returned the one he made. He then became extremely defensive yelling and saying I was wrong and he was right and took the vodka drink, but would not make me my original drink I asked for and also did not give me my money or tip back. He said I would need to pay him another $7 to get my correct drink then started sarcastically mocking & saying the customer is always right. He seemed like he was coked out because there's no reason any normal person would start yelling over them making the wrong drink, especially a $7 well drink... no idea how this guy still works there with the amount of bad reviews about him. This place is TOO MUCH fun!!! Seriously, reminds me of my party days in Florida thirty-some years ago. Truly, if they put sand on the floor, I might have expected that I came up from the beach after surfing all day. The nice thing is... I didn't feel out of place because of those extra 30-some years. Definitely would not recommend coming here. If you are black don't even think about going in here. I got discriminated against after a full night of being a fun enjoyable guest while meeting many different individuals across the bar. After being told the bathroom needs to be shut right in front of me, I patiently waited for the next person to leave. After a 20 minute wait, I got into the bathroom, and quickly handled my business. Mid stream, my bathroom was rudely banged on and I expressed how I had just waited for an extended amount of time and I was going as fast as I can. I know how a bathroom bar can be a stressful place for women, except in this case I had just closed the restroom door and decided to squat to pee as fast as I could with the long wait time. I spoke about how I was going as fast as I could and how this is unfair treatment as I had only been in the bathroom for 5 seconds. Shortly after that , I left after washing my hands and returning back to my friends that were at the bar. I made sure they were aware of my experience and tried to continue on with my night. About 20 minutes later, I was approached by a white male worker that said I had cussed out his coworker and I was getting kicked out. I asked why this was happening given I was enjoying my time and not causing any disruption (in the bar or in the bathroom) and there was no proof I was the individual they were accusing. His response had no explanation and without causing any scene, I decided to just leave knowing I would be the only black person in this bar that would be discriminated against as there were no other individuals that looked like me within the last few minutes before or after using the bathroom. This caused the rest of my friends to leave the bar as well, as they would not stand with management that did not understand how discriminatory they were being toward me. Mind you I am one of the 3 black people within this entire bar. I would 100% not recommend trying this bar out as a colored individual. There are not going to be people that look like you and I and will be able to make sure you are protected. I will not be returning, and I recommend you do not spend your money at a racist establishment like this. The next time I return, it will be to make sure there are names for me to provide for my mistreatment. Honestly, I am disappointed I was not able to obtain these items, but I am confident I will be able to put a face to the name, if they are not able to with this review. I would rate 0 stars if I could, do not come here. read more

Ohhh Patties, this the designated dive bar reunion spot for my high school and I wouldn't want it any other way. They have cheap drinks, a divey atmosphere, games, dancing music, and all in all, it is a decent place to casually meet up with old friends. It is conveniently located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, so makes an easy pit spot while bar hopping around town! PRO TIP: Order a 'breakfast shot', it tastes like pancakes and OJ and goes down way too easy. I'm embarrassed to admit how many i've had in my lifetime! In fact, some of my guy friends used to order pitchers of these shots. #FACEPALM Anyways, i'm sure i'll be back again when in the mood to see all of those awkward faces from HS! I've always been a fan of this bar, it has been there for me in some of my most challenging times. The staff is always on point . I would like to give an extra shout out to Aaron, who works Wednesday mornings (at least) !! Aaron was so kind and helpful and every guest that came in while I was there was taken care of specific to their needs . He is very polite, as well as all of the team members at Patties. I can say I have always felt welcome, been treated with almost royalty like treatment (and no I'm not a regular here anymore ) If you want a quiet place during the weekdays off season, Pattie's is your place. I have such a love/hate relationship with Pattie's! On the plus side, it's a large venue that always offers up a very lively scene, there are lots of bar games, it's always open, and drinks are inexpensive. On the flip side though, (since it's an indoor/outdoor space I guess?), somehow people are allowed to smoke in 'designated areas,' but this inevitably turns into wherever the heck you please, particularly on weekends. If you're a smoker, maybe you love that. I absolutely hate it though! It also can be difficult to play some of the games (darts and pool) when it's crowded, and the dart board is AWFUL. It has a bunch of broken off plastic tips stuck in the board, so literally half of your throws bounce off and don't stick. Please fix this guys!! Still a spot we pop into fairly regularly for a drink when we want to have a casual night, and definitely worth the stop in! read more

Was really looking forward to going to Patties but their incompetent and egotistical bouncer ruined it from the get go. He took our ID's and refused to give them back. When we asked him to call the non-urgent police number he said "you can look the number up yourself" which we did. After we called the police who confirmed our ID's were real the bouncer still acted like a total asshole because he was wrong. Only stayed for one drink because the same guy kept hovering around us ruining the whole mood. Ended up at Gilligans down the street which has a better happy hour anyway. read more
