Went here for an anniversary dinner. We decided to go a bit early so we can sit in the bar and have a drink. The bartop was a bit small but we were able to find a spot among the locals. Ordered a couple of drinks and an appetizer. The drinks were spot on. We enjoyed the bartenders they were quite nice. We then got into the restaurant and seated. The food was very good, service was good. This is not a big place so I would definitely recommend making reservations. We'll be back again at some point. read more

The place overall is not that good the food is subpar at most i've have better steaks at an Olive Garden , Pastas after a while build up some grease and the service is really really slow the waiters have more time to mingle and talk to each other than to check if everything with their order. Here's one example ordered a drink and it took more than an hour to get to a customer. I was a busboy as well as having a dining experience and overall even the employees don't want to eat there. There is a particular waiter that looks angry all the time and doesn't look like to be having a good time. read more

Usually I try not to leave reviews. What i am trying to do is help people have a good experience. (By avoiding this place) My friends and I just had the top 1-2 worst food experiences ever. Hopefully I didn't get sick from the old crust cocktail. I would called it shrimp cocktail but I didn't see any shrimp just mostly old squishy pieces of grey matter. I don't want anyone to be hurt or lose business but I feel it would be a disservice to just say that this place is plain terrible. This is one if the few times it didn't pay to take a risk. Okay, so we're back to try more food on the menu. We love this Saturday and Sunday only brunch from 10 o'clock to 3 PM. Mr. Picky loved the lobster Benedict so much last time that he ordered this special again, with extra hollandaise sauce. Me, I opted to try the flat iron steak, recommended by bartender Alex who greeted us when we walked in. Because the steak was Prime, it was beautifully tender, and the kitchen cooked it to a perfect medium rare. I selected as my side the cheesy potato pancake, and it was soft and gooey, nice. Now this is rare, and I can hardly believe it, but the chef in the kitchen actually got the scrambled eggs cooked properly, as they were still nice and tender and not overdone. He did some good things with our lunch today. Congratulations to chef Jose! We again had a great waiter, Juan, taking care of us. The appetizer we decided to try was the grilled shrimp which was tender, juicy, and had a lovely light sauce on it. Wonderful jumbo shrimp!! I discovered why the coffee tastes so good here, and it is because they preheat a vacuum flask with hot water and then pour the freshly-prepared hot coffee in. That means it doesn't sit on any hot burner and end up tasting like a fireplace. Not such a small thing for a coffee lover. We took leftovers home, just so that we could save space in our stomachs to try the homemade desserts. Last time we tried the cheesecake, Mr. Picky went for that again, and I decided to try the key lime pie for which they are supposed to be famous -- in fact I quite liked it. I particularly love the crust on the cheesecake, a good amount of spice to perk it up!!! These old-style quality dining establishments are becoming popular again, and they care about food here. We'll be back, and you should try it!!! (PS: they deserve another star because the restrooms were absolutely immaculate, and even decorated nicely, too.) read more

There was a time when this was a great place with great food. No so anymore sadly. We had sent a few friends believing they would love it as well. They decided not to tell us the did not line it at all! We went again with my brother in law and again food quality was awful! We mentioned it to the friends we recommended it to and suggested that if they had not gone yet to save their money! Wllturns out they had gone and opted not to tell us since they were not at all happy with the experience with regard to food quality. We all agreed however the service was good. We too discovered it had changed owners and we did not know it. Boy can you tell! Save your money and find a good steak elsewhere! read more

Good food and been here a few times. Would give it a 4-star but did not like where we were seated. We were seated in a table in the bar area. I'd avoid that. Didn't even know there was a table there. Was tucked in the corner. Being in the bar made it noisy and seemed extra crowded. Not somewhere where you can easily get a servers attention either. We went here for a friends 39th birthday party extravaganza! When we arrived, we were warmly greeted at the door, but informed that there weren't any tables. The team quickly scrambled like a squadron out of top gun and offered to put together a large enough table to accommodate our group in front of the restaurant. The serving team was attentive and just the right amount of friendly to keep our drinks topped off throughout the Patty's experience. Speaking of the experience, let's talk about the food. Our first course included the shrimp cocktail, ceviche, and calamari. The shrimp cocktail was well presented and had some notable flavors. The presentation of the ceviche was great, and had flavors reminiscent of water and celery sans lemon. The calamari had the texture of a rubber band that was coated in soggy and slippery breadcrumbs. All three apps easily get a 10/10. Moving on to the main course, I cannot speak for others, but I ordered the Tomahawk (medium rare of course!) with a side of creamed corn and french fries. The french fries were crispy and quite delicious, they could be a meal in their own right! The creamed corn smelled slightly of body odor and had sweet, yet savory undertones. The only better creamed corn I have tasted came from Albertsons in a can. The presentation of the Tomahawk was exquisite. Slicing into the massive chunk of meat took some effort as tendons and fat clogged up the serrations of the knife faster than my arteries. The texture defied logic, it was in a superposition of wet and dry. This is something I have never experienced in all of my life on this planet. It was incredibly bland, but the sauces... man the sauces. All three sauces had aggressive flavors that reminded me of A-1 mixed with teriyaki sauce. The differentiator was a sprinkle of parsley or a dash of pepper. During our meal out on the sidewalk, we were greeted by a traveler that was seeking donations to fuel his dreams. Instead, I offered to fuel his belly by suggesting that he try some of my Tomahawk. He politely declined and continued his journey into the night. If I was to give the main course a grade, it would be A+++ Overall Patty really built something special here. This is a hidden gem that I will reserve for only the bestest of occasions. In closing, I would give this place ONE MILLION STARS if that was an option. We live in Broadmoor/Sunset Beach and knew the original owner. Nick has done a fabulous job since he took over the restaurant keeping things the same and adding even more ambience and some additions to the menu. It is "our most go to place for special occasions." My significant other used to be in the restaurant business in upper management so he's very finicky and he truly appreciates define service and good quality food at Patty's Place. When Nick is there, he'll always make a point to stop at your table and visit. We love the patio and were there Fourth of July weekend with our grandson who is only 18 months old. The steaks were perfect and deserts wonderful. You have to try one of their after-dinner drinks. We usually don't order those but now we're hooked. read more

My boyfriend & I went last night for our anniversary, and we had an amazing time! I think because he made a reservation they gave us special treatment. We were seated at a private booth in the back of the restaurant, and the owner greeted us and checked in on the quality of our food. I ordered the rack of lamb, which is my favorite food and the reason we came to Patty's. It was perfect! It looked as delicious as it tasted, so unfortunately I forgot to take a picture. For dessert we shared bread pudding - not my favorite but my boyfriend loves it - and that was phenomenal as well. It had the perfect texture and an amazing pecan praline sauce. As for Covid regulations, all servers wore masks and face shields, guests were seated far apart, and I felt completely safe. read more

My girlfriend and I came here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We were taking a walk on the Seal Beach pier and we're looking for a nice place to have dinner to celebrate. We decided on Pattys and we couldn't be happier that we did! We will absolutely be back again and hope to become regulars. We were immediately greeted by the owner, Nick, who was so warm and welcoming and sat us right away even though we didn't have a reservation. We started with the escargot and onion soup, both of which were so delicious and exactly what we wanted. For our entree we split the 32 oz Tomahawk-- wow what an incredible piece of meat which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Truly delicious. We finished with the Killer Chocolate Cake. This was killer... killer good! One of the best chocolate cakes I've ever had. Lastly, the service was impeccable. Our server, Jake, was attentive, timely, and also warm and welcoming. Excellent service! Even the other servers helped out table and worked together as a team and took such great care of us. Again, we'll be back! Can't wait for our next meal and memory at Pattys.
