Food: 4.9/5 Service: NA/5 Value: 4.7/5 Stopped by and was mesmerized by their berry cheesecake, and oh my goodness it didn't disappoint. If you're ever around here, would STRONGLY recommend the cheesecake. The cheesecake is thick, the crust is even thicker, and the berry glaze adds a nice sweetness that's not too sweet while there are whole blueberries inside to add just a touch of tanginess to some of the bites you take. We loved it so much we came back a second time close to closing but they were out of the cheesecake already. What a bummer but glad I got to experience it once.

We got to Pau around 8am on a Thursday morning and only waited about 10-15 minutes to order and get our food. We ate across the street at the park which was nice. They have a pretty big menu from breakfast and lunch sandwiches, to empanadas, to sweets and pastries. Good coffee menu also. Great experience overall.

The pastries on display in the cases all looked delicious and screamed EAT US. I succumb easily to pastry pressure so we got a brownie and a piece of coffee cake (blueberry). The brownie was ooey and gooey with crispy edges. I am not a chocoholic so one bite was good enough for me, though warm and topped with a scoop of ice cream would have been amazing. The coffee cake was oddy devoid of flavor and not something I'd order again. Staff wasn't particularly helpful but maybe it's because they were busy and only had two people behind the counter. The empanadas looked good and I could be persuaded to go back and try them. But I think I'll skip the sweets.

Came for the empanada. Just a tad disappointed. The place was fully stocked on them. Maybe I got the wrong one. I got the beef. Not so flaky. No flavor in the filling. Also had to wait about 10 minutes for the thing. Staff is great though!

We tried the empanadas, bagel sandwich, and the cinnamon roll. Everything was great!! The empanadas were just as good as the ones we had in Spain and cinnamon roll was so flavorful! I would definitely come back.

Clearly I was sold at fresh sourdough, they sell individual rounds, fresh from the oven and even better with local honey and butter. We also snagged a few empanadas to heat up throughout the week with a side of cheesecake, so all in we were pretty happy with our first try of Pau. The staff are friendly and the vibe is welcoming.

Located about a mile down from the Times market on Lower Honoapiilani Rd in Kaanapali this little gem I found by chance and SO thankful I did; coincidentally it is located right next to Bad Ass coffee. Pau is Italian owned and Italian operated and I don't think of the several times that I visited did I encounter any one of the staff who didn't have an Italian accent. Pau was amazing in every way; the quality of the coffee, the expertise in which it was prepared and friendliness of the staff. Let's not also forget the quality of their unbelievable pastry selection and empanadas. I could sit there all day and eat the empanada's; I only sampled the chicken and beef and both were equally delicious!! . Go online and take a look at their menu as they have other options as well regarding food to eat for breakfast etc. Now I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I have been to Bad Ass coffee on previous visits before and I absolutely have no idea why people continue to wait in long lines at Bad Ass when in my opinion Pau's quality and service is far superior... it can't be because of price as a 12 ounce latte with a double shot of espresso is only $5.50 at Pau. I honestly feel you will not regret giving ' this little slice of Italy' a shot and when you do I think there's a good chance you'll be hooked liked I am. "Also make sure you get there fairly early and grab a warm fresh baked loaf of sourdough bread...SO GOOD" They open at 7am and close at 2pm... small parking area but a a lot of people coming and going so it's pretty easy to grab a spot.

Probably get best cinnamon rolls I've had in a while! Very casual place just down the street from another quite famous cinnamon roll spot. The folks were so nice too! We took our food across the street and had a delicious brekkie right on the beach. It was heaven! Can't wait to come back!

I went in for the Empanadas and they did not disappoint. I have been back a second time already. Highly recommend, hot or cold. They have so many other good offerings, you are literally spoiled for choice for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend and the staff are so friendly ad service is quick. I just need another week to try more items. Enjoy.

This place came up on our search for breakfast a few times so we decided to give this a try. They have great looking choices overall, especially with the food that is displayed in the shelves! We had their croissant and chicken empanadas. Both were great. Their salmon toast was good too. If you like Kona, the coffee store next door has some good options that complement the sweet treats here. They do have limited parking so do plan to spend some time finding a spot especially if you are on a schedule.

The service is always phenomenal. The staff is so friendly Valentino takes my orders all the time and is so helpful with suggestions! The location is perfect. We love to come here for coffee and a pastry to take across the street to Honokowai beach park. Absolutely stunning views and the clearest water. The pistachio croissant is amazing. The breakfast sandwich was delish. They have free samples almost every day if their other sweet treats. I will keep coming back! Mahalo Pau Bakery !!

We stumbled upon this bakery looking for coffee and it was AMAZING! The empanadas were fresh and flaky. The baked goods were homemade. The blueberry coffee cake was nothing like I have had before. I wanted to try so many of the items but that just means we will have to go back soon! There is a good amount of seating inside and great parking later in the morning. We were at the coffee shop next door and saw through the window and had to come in to check it out. Everyone was so nice here! All of the stuff our group got was fantastic! The tirimisu was 10/10 not too strong of a coffee flavor which I personally really loved. We got the coconut square which had a dulce de leche center and was fantastic! The guava puff pastry was light and airy so delicious! read more

I came in here while grabbing some coffee next door, and what a pleasant surprise! I only ordered the chicken empanada, but it was quite possibly the best empanada I've had. They get quite busy, so it can take a little bit. They have many other items such as pastries. The staff is very kind! I look forward to coming back! read more

Coffee was okay. They charged me $1 for like .5 oz of half and half. Kind of stingy. $1 for honey as well, which other places dont charge for. Americano was okay- nothing worth paying almost $8 for. Wouldn't go back. read more

Well I'm glad we gave this a go! Something new something sweet definitely 5 stars unfortunately I took only one picture of what we got because we couldn't wait to dive in and taste everything! Very pleased with this spot! So many options to choose from, both sweet and savory options. We got the ham and cheese sandwich and the bacon and egg bagel. Quality bread and delicious. Fast service! Our specialty coffees were good. Cinnamon roll was massive with hefty portion of frosting. We got some empanadas to go. Wish we found this place sooner on our trip! read more

I bought a blue berry muffin with tax call it $6 + $1 tip the guy was not friendly didn't even say thank you for a cash tip, muffin was stale and dry, couldn't eat it.....drive further & get better food & service. waste of $7 read more

I'm a concierge's at a Timeshare in Kaanapali. I send them a lot of business. But when I looked at my receipt and I saw that they charged me two dollars to slice my bread. Fthem that two dollars just cost them hundreds of dollars that is so rude even Safeway doesn't charge you for slicing the bread. Pau bakery you're better than that unfortunately, you've lost me. read more

Service is always slow and none of the cashiers learnt the menu enough to answer simple ingredients questions. This is the one place on the west side where you will not be greeted with the Aloha spirit. Pastries have nothing special about them and I have yet to try something I genuinely enjoyed. I've even heard many horror stories from my own ohana about cashiers even raising their voices at customers over simple questions. Will spread the word. MORE BETTAH GO PAPI'S read more

Wow! Amazing breakfast, everything was fresh and tasty. We ordered the ham egg and cheese croissant and it was delicious. We also got a grilled cheese for the kids and the sourdough bread was really good, I would get a loaf if we weren't flying back home. We asked for the cinnamon roll warmed up and it was so soft and delicious. The inside was clean and aesthetically pleasing. The staff were friendly and the service was quick! I went here after going to Badass coffee since it's right next door. We learned that today is their first day! The interior is clean and spacious, but as of now, they only have 3 sets of tables inside. We had some issues putting in our order since they didn't have it on their ordering system, but eventually got our order put in. The food took around 10-15 minutes to come out. We ordered the breakfast croissant and smoked salmon croissant. My parents ordered the cinnamon roll and cream puff. The croissants were so delicious- flaky and warm and the eggs were seasoned well. My parents said the cinnamon roll and their pastries were good too. Overall, I love the addition of the bakery, especially right next to Badass coffee since they don't serve breakfast items. It seems like they still have a few kinks to work out, but hopeful they were figure it all out soon! read more

WOW probably the best empanada and cinnamon roll I've ever had! I tried both the beef and the chicken. I think I slightly liked the chicken more, but both were absolutely amazing. I also got a mocha latte with coconut in it and it was to die for. The service was also excellent! I can't wait to come here everyday for the rest of my trip! read more

Holy smoking goodness! I found this cafe' by accident a few days ago... my wife and I tried a couple iced coffees, a chicken empanada, ham and cheese empanada, and breakfast toast. Everything was spot on!!! They make their own bread, the breakfast toast is an open face like avocado toast on crack... they have other toast and empanada options as well. We loved this place so much that we tried to hit it on the way to the airport but they had a line and we were a little late... it's absolutely worth the wait! Look them up! read more

Got the berry cheesecake and pog drink. Pog drink was delicious and very refreshing. Berry cheesecake was good also. I really liked the crust. The filling and topping was also good. It wasn't too sweet. I'll definitely be coming back. Sorry I ate the stuff before I could take a picture. read more

Wow, I had a fantastic blueberry coffee cake that was definitely built for two, at least in my case; so moist and full of blueberries and not overly sweet. They had lots of traditional type bakery items, and then some fancier options. Clean, low-key place with a nice girl at the register nice job! Still getting a five even though they only serve bottled coffee. read more

Good cinnamon rolls & coffee cake. Breakfast bagels and sandwiches normal and average. Customer service was patient and good. Beef and chicken empanadas were good. The rest of empanadas were just ok. They need to speak up about customers on speaker phone while in the restaurant. read more

She told us we had to come here. She made sure to mention to carve out a couple hours of the day, because we'll be waiting in line. As you can see pictures from other people's reviews, that's definitely the case. We took an Uber over there, and as soon as we got in the car and the driver mentioned the address he said, are y'all ready to wait?!?! I think we got there around 10 AM and the line was already long! We knew we would have to be very patient this day. Luckily it wasn't super hot outside so that helped with the waiting process. They did have someone come around and offer coffee and water to purchase while we waited in line. I thought that was pretty smart under the circumstances that everyone has to deal with while waiting here. After probably a 2 hour wait... we finally got in! They have other options of things to eat. Scones, croissants and things like that. We were there for the star player... the cinnamon roll! These things are huge! My wife and I said since we waited so long, we might as well get two and enjoy one of them for later. I never envisioned myself waiting two hours for a cinnamon roll, or any other type of treats, but this was well worth it. We wanted to have one while it was fresh out the oven, so we found a bench to sit at around a bus stop. It was so soft, pretty much melted in your mouth. The icing was tasty. It was so fresh, it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had in my life. I'm sure spending two hours of your time being in Maui you don't want to sit in line waiting on something like a cinnamon roll, trust me I felt the same way. After doing this, I WILL do it again the next time I'm there! Next time, I would be there first thing in the morning and waiting in line before they open up, that way I'll have time for other activities around the island that I have planned for the day. The wait is worth it, and I highly suggest this place!

The cookies are delicious, I love that they put pistachios in it & it's not overly sweet, they were my favorite. The cinnamon rolls unfortunately fell short for me. There was something about them that just didn't "wow" me enough to be believing the hype. However, I'm still glad that I tried it. & to each their own.

I luckily was able to find a spot outside. I finished my pie so fast. The crust was really good and the filling was delicious. I wish I had gone back to pick up more pies to go!

We took our family vacation early November and in doing so we planned to do an intimate gender cake reveal too. Finding a notable and highly rated baker in Maui was at the top of my list. Getting in touch with Ariele was a breeze. Her communication from start to finish was excellent. And her options of cake and icing flavors were never ending, wow! You have classic flavors like strawberry, chocolate, cookies & cream, etc. to tropical flavors which is what we gravitated towards. We got a simple white 3 layered 4" guava cake filled with lilikoi buttercream finished in vanilla buttercream. I provided a reference picture and the little details I wanted on the cake. Everything we asked is what we received with the exception of having pink & blue sprinkles along the base piping but I'm not going to ding Ariele for that because it still looked so cute!!! Cake was delicious. Highly recommend! P.S. we're having twin boys!

She told us we had to come here. She made sure to mention to carve out a couple hours of the day, because we'll be waiting in line. We took an Uber over there, and as soon as we got in the car and the driver mentioned the address he said, are y'all ready to wait?!?! I think we got there around 10 AM and the line was already long! We knew we would have to be very patient this day. Luckily it wasn't super hot outside so that helped with the waiting process. They did have someone come around and offer coffee and water to purchase while we waited in line. I thought that was pretty smart under the circumstances that everyone has to deal with while waiting here. After probably a 2 hour wait... we finally got in! They have other options of things to eat. Scones, croissants and things like that. We were there for the star player... the cinnamon roll! These things are huge! My wife and I said since we waited so long, we might as well get two and enjoy one of them for later. I never envisioned myself waiting two hours for a cinnamon roll, or any other type of treats, but this was well worth it. We wanted to have one while it was fresh out the oven, so we found a bench to sit at around a bus stop. It was so soft, pretty much melted in your mouth. The icing was tasty. It was so fresh, it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had in my life. I'm sure spending two hours of your time being in Maui you don't want to sit in line waiting on something like a cinnamon roll, trust me I felt the same way. After doing this, I WILL do it again the next time I'm there! Next time, I would be there first thing in the morning and waiting in line before they open up, that way I'll have time for other activities around the island that I have planned for the day. I recently had the pleasure of visiting the new bakery in our neighborhood, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish! As soon as my daughter and I walked in, we were warmly greeted with a genuine "Aloha" that instantly made us feel at home. The atmosphere is inviting, and the delightful aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air, setting the stage for a wonderful culinary adventure. The selection of pastries, sandwiches, and smoothies is truly impressive. Everything looks so tempting that it was hard to choose! Thankfully, the friendly staff was incredibly helpful. They took the time to guide us through the menu, helping us select the perfect items for a delicious lunch. I totally recommend the hot pastrami sandwichas well as the bacon and egg bagel! It was mouth-wateringly good and definitely hit the spot. My daughter and I left with full stomachs and happy hearts. I'm not typically one to leave a negative review, but my recent visit here was uniquely disappointing. I had heard wonderful things about their sourdough and decided to stop in yesterday. The first impression was chaos. The line was long, which I expected, but the staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. After a 20-minute wait, I finally made it to the counter and ordered a loaf of the signature sourdough and a chocolate croissant. The sourdough I received was stone cold and incredibly dense--not the light, airy texture I anticipated from a bakery. It felt several days old, not fresh-baked. The croissant was even worse: stale and dry, with a stingy smear of filling that tasted more like cheap syrup than quality chocolate. I left feeling completely ripped off and genuinely confused by all the positive hype. I won't be returning. Save your money and find a better bakery elsewhere read more

Excellent baked goods and loved the sandwiches! Friendly service also. Their smoked salmon bagel was delicious as well as others. They serve Argentine pastries and we know what those take like and they taste well for that background. It may not be everyone's tastes but for us it hit the spot.
