I hate leaving bad reviews, but the past few times I've been to Paul's the food was painfully average to downright inedible. I got an omelet that was subpar, barley any cheese and barley any mushrooms. Their waffles are almost sour, the apples and cinnamon I got on top were somehow sweeter than the waffle itself. And this time I got banana pancakes, and I think that was the worst of all. It tasted like straight up cooking oil, and they were dry and grainy, not fluffy at all. And the bananas rather than being mashed into the batter or put on top, were just fully sliced and baked into the pancake. It was gross to say the least. I could only eat 1/2 of one pancake out of the three I received. I won't be coming back as their food has just progressively declined. Maybe it's the new ownership? read more

Some things never change. Went here a couple years ago and had fake eggs. Thought I'd give it another try and specifically asked for eggs out of the shell for my omelette. Guess what I got?? Fake liquid eggs. They're actually called a 'egg product'. I told Heidi and she asked the cook and the cook lied. If you want real eggs here you better order over easy!!! I'm being generous with 3 stars, but we've had some ok meals here. Nothing special, but today I had to review because it was just poor. Very disappointed with omelette, it was an egg folded over a completely separate filling and not incorporated into the egg part at all. Just wierd and unappetizing. The ham was very game-y, and I would not recommend it. Cinnamon roll was hard, even though it was slightly warm. Best food here is the pancakes, they are fluffy and taste fabulous. Service today was so bad, slow, forgot things, had to ask etc. I think the good reviews result from there being very few good breakfast restaurants in the area to uphold a good standard. read more

Went for breakfast and requested fried eggs with yolk removed (dietary restriction due to medical condition) and were told they were too busy to remove a yolk from an egg. We asked them to ask Manager/Owner who again said no. Seriously? It's a restaurant. People ask for menu adaptations all the time. But they refused. We left. Went to "As You Like It" in Acton. I woke up groggy eyed on a business trip last fall and found myself at Paul's Diner. It's in a similar capacity I find myself here today. Welcomed in by a friendly older gal - I felt like the place was made for me. Hot coffee, comfortable booths and a smell only a New England diner with a four page menu could have - this place is great. I enjoy a classic diner - and this is one of them. You can hear the chatter from the kitchen which only added to my time here. We have gotten take out lunches from Paul's for the past few months and here are some of my observations: -Solid sandwiches made fresh and a good portion. Yummy food!! First time I ate there a few months ago I had the breakfast.. very good family mom style. Recently I went in for lunch. Apparently the service changes for the lunch crowd.. from a waitress seats you and takes your order to a cafeteria style. This change however allowed the diner to handle larger crowds apparently. The service was amazing. The staff was able to recommend some delicious sandwiches and went as far as to allow us to taste some of the cuts of meat. After placing our order we moved along the line and paid for our meal.. which they brought to our table rather quickly. In town for a day and stopped in here for breakfast. Good choice. My omelet was huge, but lacked the proper amount of cheese. Wife had a shot stack that came with 4 good size sausages. Way more than she could eat. Most breakfast entrees are about $10. Coffee not included, but you get a bottomless cup and it was delicious. Service was fast and very friendly. Even though we live in the area this was our first time here. We can on a Sunday right after a snowstorm so it wasn't crowded at all. We were promptly greeted and seated by a very friendly young lady. Our server came over immediately and we asked for coffee as we read the menus. The coffee came back quickly and we placed our order with our super friendly server. The coffee was hot and quite good. Sugar packets and those little plastic cream things are on the table. The atmosphere is great. Very clean and unlike most diners there is plenty of room. Nobody feels crowded. Our food came back very quickly. The portions were very generous. My wife had waffles with strawberries and home fries. I had the Hungry Man which consisted of two eggs, two pancakes, bacon, and home fries. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her waffles, however she said the home fries were hard and too spicy and I agree, they weren't good at all. My bacon was also too hard and terribly salty. It wasn't crispy, just hard. Weird. My eggs were cooked perfectly but the pancakes, which looked incredible, were very chewy and had a strange consistency to them. Far from light and airy the way they are supposed to be. Given we live nearby, I really want to like this place. I feel as though mediocre service can overcome great food but not the other way around. Our sever was spectacular but the food was a let down. The most frustrating part is that we're talking about home fries, bacon, and pancakes here. Seriously a little kid could make these at home and have them turn out better. I'd like to come back and try something else. But really, if you take bacon, home fries, and pancakes out of the equation your choices for breakfast are somewhat limited. Overall: I love Paul's Diner. The staff is friendly, there's never a long wait for your food once you get seated and the food is great. Great prices, great people. Location: It's tucked away in a little shopping mall area. Parking is never an issue. Atmosphere: It's a casual diner and the staff makes you feel really at home. It's not small but it's not large. It's just right. On certain days you can seat yourself. I always go on Sunday. Even though it's a popular place, the wait has never been too long. Service: Service is always fast and friendly. You can tell they've been in business for a while and they know what they're doing. Im always greeted with a smile and provided with everything I ask for/need. Food: The portions are huge. I usually get the waffle and it's perfect every time. The only thing that could use improvement are the home fries. I like them to be cooked more than they usually are here. There's tend to be "blonde" and not brown. I always get eggs over medium and they're perfect every time. Price: Almost everything is under $10. Great prices and you get huge portions. After looking through the menu, I came across the "not your average omelet" menu. I was immediately intrigued! Buffalo chicken, chicken teriyaki, and pastrami & spicy mustard were just some of the creative omelet options. I decided on the chicken teriyaki omelet ($9.99). Kind of steep for an omelet at a diner, but it turned out to be one of the best omelets I've ever had! It was stuffed with tons of chicken & vegetables smothered in teriyaki sauce and melted provolone. Yeah that might sound weird....but you'd have to try it for yourself! Unfortunately, the home fries that it came with really missed the mark. They were extremely overcooked and definitely were from the freezer. Paul's diner has always been a favorite of my family since we grew up in Westford. I'm not sure when the ownership changed but I came back recently and a lot has changed... the quality has gone downhill. The potatoes used to be fresh and pan fried. Now they're frozen and have definitely been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The eggs are bland. And even the plates are of cheaper quality. Disappointed. read more

I always loved Paul's but today's experience was less than stellar. I enjoy their food and variety. I just wish they did a better job on their potatoes. Underdone and too thick. And today found they had changed computer systems. Better for ordering but caused them to cancel the loyalty card promotion. While they have every right to do so, they could have given existing users some credit for having been loyal. And when we tried to speak to Paul he was very rude. Sat down, ordered coffee, which came in a dirty mug, not just coffee stained, but had blue ink on the Inside. Waitress said the mugs were permenantly stained with coffee. REALLY? Having very bad experience for last few weekends. Since last few yrs every week, i get 2,waffles & 1 veggie omlette to go. Don't know if chef or staff changed. Today 01/29//2021, in person ordered same menu. At 9.55 AM, I picked food. I live in Westford on N.Main St. It takes 9 mts to reach home. At 10.08 AM, opened Omlette Containerr All vegetables soaked in liquid scattered in box. Omlette lying in center. Not folded. 2 hashbrowns nicely soaked in liquid. Crisp hashbrowns became smooth hash rowns. 2 toasts same. It was pretty bad. I had office mtg till 10.30 am. Finished it. Drove back to diner. They said after 1 hr, thats how it becomes. I told in 10 mts itself it became like that. Bcos of driving, it seems hashbrowns & bread jumped into liquid in box. Guess what they did favor. Made the same item again for Half Discounted Price . This happened couple of weeks back also. Sadly i ate at that time. But called them over phone. Today I drove and showed. Still very bad experience. Earlier it was good. Recent times its going down. I better try different diners in Westford. In past I loved this place. Hence still giving 4 insted of 2 for recent experiences. read more

A bright spot in this dark pandemic. We had to order to go, of course, but the service was fast and the breakfast sandwich I ordered was perfect. Highly recommend the "Vinny Ray". I can't believe I'm writing a 1 star review for Paul's Diner. For nearly 20 years I've been taking my kids here as a sort of ritual. My guess is the pandemic has hurt performance but today was a new low. Over the past couple of years I've 1) called in an order for an egg sandwich, showed up 15-20 minutes later and told the wait would be another 30 minutes. I left without food; 2) I was on-site and ordered an egg sandwich to go and was told the wait would be 30-45 minutes. I left without food; 3) today I walked in and asked to sit at the counter. This seemed to confuse everyone and I was told a) there were no seats and b) it was unknown if there were any open seats. There was an open seat at the counter in plain view. I was offered a take out option and I ordered an omelette, which in itself seemed to cause confusion. I paid and was told to take a seat. After waiting 20 minutes I was asked by my order taker if I was waiting for takeout. After checking the status I was told it would take another 15-20 minutes. For the third and final time I left without food. I'm not a hothead, I don't act out in public, and I have nothing but good history with this place. I don't think I'll ever go back. read more

Paul's Diner is bright, spacious and airy. It is tastefully decorated and spotless. The two times we visited, our waitresses were warm, friendly and extremely helpful. We felt relaxed and not rushed and our coffees and entrees were timed perfectly. We had plenty of time to go through their 32 omelette offerings, along with other menu items. All of us were pleased with our choices. The waffle with blueberries was light and the blueberries were real and plentiful. The waitress even offered real maple syrup, which I eagerly accepted. It came with fresh fruit as well. Nothing canned or jarred there! My husband's eggs Benedict were delicious and he was able to choose his meat, in this case, kielbasa. Our friends had a meatball omelette & blueberry bread French toast. The portions were huge so unfortunately we couldn't stay for lunch as we were so full. After breakfast, we were able to sit and chat. And the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive. We are looking forward to going back to Paul's. Paul's Diner located conveniently off of Rt 110 in Westford, MA. A great spot for breakfast or lunch. My personal favorite is the Nick and Katy Omelet. Home fries cooked perfectly, bacon cooked how you want it. You can't go wrong for breakfast at Paul's. Their lunch is simple and easy. Burgers, dogs, sandwiches, you name it. They are only open until the early afternoon, so make sure you get in at a reasonable time! The Invisible Yelper will definitely be back. read more
