Got the carnitas burrito a side of red sauce... to start the carnitas are just basically shredded meat and has no flavor of actual carnitas, the beans were ok, the burrito itself was a bit watery. Average joe dining spot!! I had the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings for lunch. Very oily and soggy. Nothing special really. The menu was impressive!! There were so many options .. i didnt know what to try! I asked a few questions about menu choices to the cashier and she either didnt know, or answered with a quick (we dont have it). Paul's Place is known for their zucchini fries. Went here recently and apparently have a new policy where they give you "9 pieces", however I received less and barely any cheese. Called to inform and that's when they told me they don't fill the box anymore and there was nothing they could do. I literally received 5 and they said oh well too bad. I eat at Paul's in Orange often. The food is always good! My favorites are their Patty melt with Swiss, BLTA, fried Zucchini, onion rings. They have THE best Stawberry shakes I've ever had! Employee's are always friendly! My meal is always hot and Freshly made. The place is always clean and tidy. Love the music from the 50's. Fiancee and I had a super random diner-food craving tonight and hadn't really eaten all day. A quick yelp review landed us on Paul's Place, a diner I had always driven past, but never really bothered looking up. Needless to say, I'm glad we decided on this spot tonight. The food is just as promising as the photos. Their portions here are ridiculous (in a good way). It literally looked like we didn't even touch our fried zucchini and onion rings. More importantly, they were both perfectly breaded and crispy. I ordered their blue cheese bacon cheeseburger and while I enjoy blue cheese, there's no denying that it can be quite pungent, salty, and VERY funky. About halfway through, I had to scrape off some blue cheese because it was becoming a little overpowering. Overall the burger was great. The beef patty had a nice charbroiled taste to it. My fiancee ordered her usual go-to at diner spots: a fried chicken plate. Although they don't call it that. Instead, they call it "broasted" chicken. It's pretty much fried chicken, just not as super crunchy and breaded. I actually thought it was just as good as regular fried chicken, maybe even a little better. The chicken dinner comes with an assortment of sides. A few onion rings, normally fries (we subbed for zucchini), and some potato wedges. It also came with some garlic bread too! Potato wedges were big, but too starchy. The substitutions on the burger and broasted chicken was $1.99 each. A bit steep to substitute, but was worth it. By the way, onion rings are better than french fries. Don't @ me. Speaking of pricing, I wish their take-out menu had pricing on it. We didn't really know how much everything was gonna run us ($35 including tax). All in all, we have discovered a new favorite diner spot and it's right down the street from us. The portions here are massive, expect to have leftovers (or feel like dying if you over ate). We definitely plan on coming back here, preferably to dine-in. Stopped by this place for breakfast while I was in the local area for training for my job. The food is priced pretty fair for what you get. The parking lot is a little tight. The inside is a little outdated but the customer service was solid. The cashiers were extremely professional and polite. My group of nine sat in the patio and the cashier brought out all of our food and even checked in on us once or twice which was very nice. Very happy with tonight's dinner at a restaurant we haven't been back to in awhile due to my prior low rating. Things seemed back to normal finally as our burgers, salad and fries were very tasty and hot. Im not a big burger eater but my cheeseburger was great and my wife enjoyed hers and the fries. I really like the large choice of ice teas you get to choose from, regular or passion flavors. Wow. I'm embarrassed to say that I drove by this place time and time again, not really knowing what I was missing. I was craving broasted chicken, and Yelpers did not steer me wrong. Classic diner with well-kept booths. Walk up the counter for order and pick up. Soda machines are on the side for self-service. About once a week I visit a friend who lives in beautiful Anaheim near Disneyland. Sometimes we just hang out. It other times we go out to eat to local restaurants. Recently we dined here because she had mentioned this was a great local spot. She was right! The inside was tastefully decorated, I absolutely loved it! The way it works is, you go to the front register and place your order, pay and they will bring your meal to your table. The menu is right up front. They have typical burgers, fries, sandwiches and shakes but also comfort food. I ordered a grilled cheese with fries. I can honestly say it was perfect and came with a pickle spear. My friend got the cheeseburger and fries. There is a drink station, you just serve yourself. One of the things I liked is that they had orange bang which is not available at a lot of places but it's here. It's delicious! For the price point, I'd have to say okay. Knowing that every place is increasing their prices, paying $18 for a chicken breast sandwich, with cheese, fries and a soda is a bit steep. But, it is a large chicken sandwich which I think explains the large number of big pickup trucks in the parking lot. If you have a big appetite, this might be your place. Parking is a bit tight around lunch time but they were quick about taking my order and calling my name to pick it up. You are expected to bus your own table (the trash cans are by the order counter) and get your own drink. They have a fairly large menu so you can get breakfast items, burgers, chicken and even gyros. I enjoyed the fries, the chicken breast was a bit tough and I always like the free refill fountain drinks. If you are hungry and in the area, I'd say give it a shot. Get ready because this is really bad. I called in to order and I was immediately asked to hold on the line, without manners -Can you hold?- thats what they said. When I finally heard back, I asked for the greek salad with chicken. As I always have ordered. I went to the restaurant to pick up my salad and added 2 shakes since my sister just had dental surgery and she can only have liquids. I paid for the order and asked the guy if I can have extra vinaigrette dressing on top of the greek dressing I originally asked, and he said "Of course". Fast forward, I got the salad and I noticed I only had one greek and one vinaigrette, so I asked if I can get any extra of each. Erika (or Erica, Idk) the main character of this nightmare, She told me they charge 50¢ per dressing, and I said ok. I gave her my card so she can charge me, she kinda panicked and told me "oh we only take cash for the extra dressings, Im gonna give it to you today, but next time you need to tell us in advance" which means, they tried to rip me off (its a damn $1 and I don't really care, but the attitude was everything) She kept smiling as if mocking me, giving me an attitude pretending to be "nice" because I was a customer. I felt really bad because I never was treated like this before, but I let it go, because I didn't want to hold any grudges. I was a bit upset with the shake because it was literally chocolate milk, very watery, again I let it slid. I took the shake to my sister, went back to my office, and started talking to my coworker about the dressings and how bad I felt because of Erika. I took my salad out of the bag and Boom! there's no chicken! I called in and was told immediately by Erika to hold on the line. I told her I cant hold, because I only had about 15 mins left to eat my food and go back to work from lunch. She went ahead and ask everyone there if they put chicken on the greek salad, which my coworker noticed and asked me, "she's asking her coworkers?" and Erika immediately said "they're not my coworkers, they're cooks" I asked her "what are they to you, then?" and she didn't respond but rather started wild talking about other stuff. I asked her what we could do, for a simple solution, and she started telling me I was confused with the salad and that I should've ordered the chicken salad instead. I told her I always get the same thing because I don't know the menu (Because I don't go there that often) but she said she could only give me a refund for the salad IF I take the salad back and hung up on me again. by this time it was almost time for me to start working. without eating. I called in again and asked her why did she hung up on me. She started yelling and said she didn't hear anything, "hello? hello?" she said and hung up because I wasn't responding. She suggested me to speak with her manager Irene, that she would give me her phone number, I asked her, "can I talk to her now?" because she was giving me an attitude, and she said "she's not available". I asked for her manager's phone number she just offered to me and she told me "you can call to the same phone number you just called. I can't provide you her private number" I asked her, who was in charge? and told me it was her, I told her "so why would you treat people like this? What kind of customer service are you providing?" and she started speaking over my voice again and said "what's the problem? are you calling because I hung up on you or because of the salad!? You hung up on me, but I'm not complaining! I am very busy right now because Im working" like if I wasn't working myself either. So to end up this stupid conversation she told me to come back before 2pm because at that time she would be off and wont be able to "further assist me". And of course hung up before saying "all good?" Paul's Place was a good restaurant with good food, but their "customer service" employees are really trash. I always drive by Paul's Place on my way to and from Trader Joe's. Tonight, I stopped by and finally tried it with my husband. The only con was that I was surprised that they didn't have a drive-thru. We went in, and there were people coming in and out, which is always a good sign. We ordered twister fries (which were basically curly fries), fried zucchini (a popular dish), two carne asada tacos, and a steak sandwich plate. First off, you get generous portions of every dish. The twister fries could feed an entire family of at least five and still have leftovers. It was the same thing for the fries. We're going to have leftover potatoes for days! I know why the fried zucchini is a popular dish. I loved the breading. It was perfectly crispy. It wasn't overly oily nor was the batter too thick. I also enjoyed the carne asada taco. They give you a hearty serving of carne asada. I didn't try the steak sandwich, but my husband said that it was your average run of the mill steak sandwich. I'm so full right now! read more

We love Paul's Place in Orange. It's the one place that makes us feel like we are eating in our own home. Irene and the rest of the staff are always so friendly to us... and the food is always great. My favorite menu item is the BLT w/avocado on sourdough. It's so good. I also love the Gyro chicken salad (with ranch dressing on the side). The breakfasts are always great too... and I love the French toast combo with scrambled eggs and bacon. My boyfriend and I visit Paul's at least once or twice a week, and we always feel right at home. It's our comfort place. We like all the Paul's locations, but the Orange location is the very best. went on Yelp this morning around 11:30 AM November 3 call one Place nobody picked up the phone went on yelp called another place called Paul's place ordered two chorizo egg and potato breakfast burritos picked them up 15 minutes later came home tasted great. I would say chorizo was not greasy eggs were cooked perfectly not overcooked fluffy potatoes were great and cheese all in the right proportions and the value for about $10 was great grilled onions into the breakfast burrito turned out very very good. Pauls place is always on top of it! We order breakfast burritos for the entire work staff on Friday mornings and they always take amazing care of us. We are able to call in our order ahead of time and they always have it ready to go. The lady at the cash register and who is putting the food together into bags is always super helpful and always willing to give us extra salsa for the burritos (our guys love Paul's place's salsa!). The food is decent. Basic American diner menu with some Mexican food thrown in. But it took over 45-50 mins for an order of 3 breakfast burritos. Customers walked in and the cashiers told them it was minimum 45 mins for a food order. Turned 4 customers (families) away while I sat there waiting. Not that the employees were rude, but operationally it was very unsatisfactory and frustrating. We were late for an event due to the food being so late and we opted to cancel. In my opinion, traditionally, Sunday brunch is a busy day for a diner, and this Orange staple of a restaurant was not prepared. And TBH, it wasn't even that busy in the restaurant. Today I called in a chicken dinner order and was told 25 mins, ok no problem. Got there and they said fry pilot was off... BS cause that means the fryer won't cook anything.
