This place was disappointing. First time there & won't be going back. I wanted to try their broasted chicken but it took 30 mins to cook. Would have been nice if that was put on the menu & I could have planned for it. The cashier taking our order didn't know the menu and had to look things up. Not inviting or friendly but rather rude. Gives us our receipt with no instructions as what we should do. So I asked, do we wait here? She then said, find a seat & we'll call your name, like I should have known that. So unorganized, unprofesstional and poor communication. No hard shell tacos should also be put on the menu as well. My food had chicken bones in it, sheesh! Food was bland. The hamburger was greasy and not enjoyable at all. We did not finish most of our food and left hungry. Not worth it and I was warned about this place. Love this place! Food is so delicious & always fresh. My favorite go to is their fried zucchini, the BEST I've ever tried! An ordering tip, if you get a combo, substitute the fries for the zucchini, it's a win win move! Paul's Place is so good. We ate here a couple times while visiting family in the hospital down the street. First time was for a carry out breakfast. No pics taken but the breakfast burritos and pancakes were delicious. Then we came back for dinner a couple days later and according to my husband, the Colossal Burger was the best burger he's ever had. The chili was really good too and the mushrooms were unlike any others I've had. Normally it's a tiny mushroom in a bunch a breading, these were meaty mushrooms that paired perfectly with their ranch dressing. Both times we stopped by, the workers were super nice. Came here for lunch with a friend who had been here before. It's an order-at-the-counter type of restaurant but more comfortable than a fast food place. Both our meals were good. Even though we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, our food seemed to take quite a bit to be cooked. Maybe there was a shift change. Anyways, the employees were very nice and the restaurant was clean. It's not somewhere I would go out of my way to go back to but wouldn't avoid either. read more

Granted, and we understand, Sundays are very busy and it all takes time. However, our ticket was lost. Patrons came, ate, and , left before we finally were noticed (Probably because we stood up and perhaps felt our eyes.) After at LEAST 30 minutes someone asked who had our order. We received garbage. Usually enjoy my food at Paul's place but I tried something different today and it was a hard no. Got the carnitas burrito a side of red sauce... to start the carnitas are just basically shredded meat and has no flavor of actual carnitas, the beans were ok, the burrito itself was a bit watery. Average joe dining spot!! I had the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings for lunch. Very oily and soggy. Nothing special really. The menu was impressive!! There were so many options .. i didnt know what to try! I asked a few questions about menu choices to the cashier and she either didnt know, or answered with a quick (we dont have it). Then, the second cashier chimed in with a different answer. Im confused?? Are you B.S. or what!? I ate half my meal and decided to save my appetite for dinner. Room for improvement. The broasted chicken is fantastic but does take 30 minutes to cook because they cook it to order. Needless to say, it comes out piping hot. Those are just a few highlights. It is a quick serve restaurant: you order at the counter and they call your name when it's ready. How long does it take? Depends how many to go orders, they have and how packed the places is. Fiancee and I had a super random diner-food craving tonight and hadn't really eaten all day. A quick yelp review landed us on Paul's Place, a diner I had always driven past, but never really bothered looking up. Needless to say, I'm glad we decided on this spot tonight. The food is just as promising as the photos. Their portions here are ridiculous (in a good way). It literally looked like we didn't even touch our fried zucchini and onion rings. More importantly, they were both perfectly breaded and crispy. I ordered their blue cheese bacon cheeseburger and while I enjoy blue cheese, there's no denying that it can be quite pungent, salty, and VERY funky. About halfway through, I had to scrape off some blue cheese because it was becoming a little overpowering. Overall the burger was great. The beef patty had a nice charbroiled taste to it. My fiancee ordered her usual go-to at diner spots: a fried chicken plate. Although they don't call it that. Instead, they call it "broasted" chicken. It's pretty much fried chicken, just not as super crunchy and breaded. I actually thought it was just as good as regular fried chicken, maybe even a little better. The chicken dinner comes with an assortment of sides. A few onion rings, normally fries (we subbed for zucchini), and some potato wedges. It also came with some garlic bread too! Potato wedges were big, but too starchy. The substitutions on the burger and broasted chicken was $1.99 each. A bit steep to substitute, but was worth it. By the way, onion rings are better than french fries. Don't @ me. Speaking of pricing, I wish their take-out menu had pricing on it. We didn't really know how much everything was gonna run us ($35 including tax). All in all, we have discovered a new favorite diner spot and it's right down the street from us. The portions here are massive, expect to have leftovers (or feel like dying if you over ate). We definitely plan on coming back here, preferably to dine-in. Paul's Place is known for their zucchini fries. Went here recently and apparently have a new policy where they give you "9 pieces", however I received less and barely any cheese. Called to inform and that's when they told me they don't fill the box anymore and there was nothing they could do. I literally received 5 and they said oh well too bad. I eat at Paul's in Orange often. The food is always good! My favorites are their Patty melt with Swiss, BLTA, fried Zucchini, onion rings. They have THE best Stawberry shakes I've ever had! Employee's are always friendly! My meal is always hot and Freshly made. The place is always clean and tidy. Love the music from the 50's. Stopped by this place for breakfast while I was in the local area for training for my job. The food is priced pretty fair for what you get. The parking lot is a little tight. The inside is a little outdated but the customer service was solid. The cashiers were extremely professional and polite. My group of nine sat in the patio and the cashier brought out all of our food and even checked in on us once or twice which was very nice. Very happy with tonight's dinner at a restaurant we haven't been back to in awhile due to my prior low rating. Things seemed back to normal finally as our burgers, salad and fries were very tasty and hot. Im not a big burger eater but my cheeseburger was great and my wife enjoyed hers and the fries. I really like the large choice of ice teas you get to choose from, regular or passion flavors. Our service cashier was very nice, patient and helpful to us and for once we felt welcomed back at Pauls. They give a 10% off discount to veterans so don't forget to ask for that if you served. Wow. I'm embarrassed to say that I drove by this place time and time again, not really knowing what I was missing. I was craving broasted chicken, and Yelpers did not steer me wrong. Classic diner with well-kept booths. Walk up the counter for order and pick up. Soda machines are on the side for self-service. About once a week I visit a friend who lives in beautiful Anaheim near Disneyland. Sometimes we just hang out. It other times we go out to eat to local restaurants. Recently we dined here because she had mentioned this was a great local spot. She was right! The inside was tastefully decorated, I absolutely loved it! The way it works is, you go to the front register and place your order, pay and they will bring your meal to your table. The menu is right up front. They have typical burgers, fries, sandwiches and shakes but also comfort food. I ordered a grilled cheese with fries. I can honestly say it was perfect and came with a pickle spear. My friend got the cheeseburger and fries. There is a drink station, you just serve yourself. One of the things I liked is that they had orange bang which is not available at a lot of places but it's here. It's delicious! For the price point, I'd have to say okay. Knowing that every place is increasing their prices, paying $18 for a chicken breast sandwich, with cheese, fries and a soda is a bit steep. But, it is a large chicken sandwich which I think explains the large number of big pickup trucks in the parking lot. If you have a big appetite, this might be your place. Parking is a bit tight around lunch time but they were quick about taking my order and calling my name to pick it up. You are expected to bus your own table (the trash cans are by the order counter) and get your own drink. They have a fairly large menu so you can get breakfast items, burgers, chicken and even gyros. I enjoyed the fries, the chicken breast was a bit tough and I always like the free refill fountain drinks. If you are hungry and in the area, I'd say give it a shot. Best Pastrami burger in Southern California! I think it's called the colossal burger? Compared it to the Hats pastrami burger. Anyways got my meal to go, there was a long line and they were getting food out in a timely matter. Plenty of seating to eat or wait for food, only knock is not a lot of parking spaces for how busy it was when I went. Family diner feel, servers seemed to know who the regulars were.
