First time at PDQ and selected a bad choice. I should have stayed away from ordering the Thai peanut bowl because once digging in I noticed that my rice was drenched in the Thai peanut sauce. If you do want to try this bowl order the sauce on the side and add to you liking because they put way to much. The chicken was crispy but overall the bowl was not a good dish and I left all the rice. I will give this place another try and order something else. I enjoyed my first visit to PDQ in Sanford which I found clean, conveniently located, great service, and with a menu that has a little bit of everything chicken related. I ordered chicken tenders and zucchini fries. Loved the chicken tenders. Not sure I would order the zucchini fries again though. They don't quite hold up texturally in my opinion, but now I can say I've had them. So SO excited that PDQ has finally made it to Central Florida! I fell in love with PDQ in Tampa and have always made a point to stop by any time that I'm in town. Now I don't have to wait until my next trip to Tampa! The service and food at this location is just as great as the Tampa locations. I went after work on the 2nd day they were open and barely had to wait to order or get my food. They had plenty of staff working and and were totally on top of things. I tried the PDQ pimento and chips chicken sandwich! It was soooooo good! I love pimento and cheese and this sandwich had crushed up Potato chips on top of it! Don't try to be on a diet and try this sandwich though, however this place also offers grilled options, salads, chicken bowls and wraps for a more waist conscious appetite. Since I saw the pimento cheese sandwich, I couldn't resist. There are a variety of sauces to add as a side at no additional cost and I reccomend the creamy garlic and buffalo bleu sauce. A big thank you to this Sandford location for hooking up amazing chicken tender platters for Superbowl weekend. They had an awesome promotion, buy a 25 piece platter get a 25 piece platter free. We dipped them, made sliders, wrapped them in tortillas, smothered them in cheese, used some on top of home made salads, and froze the rest. What I give only 1 star to is the ordering ordeal: lonnnnng lines with (each time I've been there) only 1 cashier. It's absurd. She filled it with ice to the top and a little soda in the cup. We had to park and fill the cups to a decent level and get napkins because there weren't any in the bag. I've left a good review for a different PDQ in the past and it got me gift cards! This is the closest one to where I live (about 40 mins away from home. Worth the drive!) and it still exceeds my expectations. Food is made fresh everyday, all of the staff is friendly and sweet and helpful. I normally do not like fast food but PDQ is a great exception. I love the 'Honey Butter' Sandwich. Again I do not normally go for a Chicken Sandwich but this one is exactly to my tastes. It is a Chrissy Chicken breast with honey butter & Bread/Butter pickles on a Grillo's Roll. Yummm! I can have sliced Granny Smith apple and caramel dipping sauce as my side. We used to love how reliable the quality of the food at this location, but the service and food is not the same as it was before all of the staff and management changes. We have ordered takeout 4 times in the last week and the chicken strips and chicken nuggets were cold and hard 3 out those 4 orders. Service inside was indifferent and unprofessional and the order taker must have carried on a private and ordinal conversation with a customer in front of us for at least 7-8 minutes. So tonight, we decided not to order inside and the drive through had better service. Not as exceptional as in the past, but more than adequate. Literally have loved this place since four years ago when I was sick to my stomach out in the parking lot from my pregnancy and the manager came running out at ten in the morning to ask if I was okay. I proceeded to tell him that I had just waited to long to eat breakfast and that I would be okay and apologized because my apartment was right behind them and I had just left to go to breakfast with my mother! He then asked if I would let them make me something really quick so that I'd feel better. I respectfully declined but I can't tell you how much that has stuck with me over the years! I want to like PDQ a lot but their inconsistent food quality is by far its biggest problem. Service on the other hand has been excellent but still not at the same level as ChickfilA. Although menu variety is a good thing, it seems like they are the biggest culprit when it comes to eating here, poor portioning, frozen caesar dressing, mushy rice. I love PDQ but had such a bizarre experience with the manager, Jamie. When I ordered a shake and felt it was made incorrectly, she basically told me " tough luck" and walked away. So I asked for it to be remade and she started arguing with me and then said, "ok sure if you want me to waste a shake, I'll do that." I told her she was being unprofessional and that I wanted a refund of the 400 points I used to get the shake. She kept arguing about remaking it for me when I just wanted a refund at that point. I asked for her name which she gave me. Then I asked for her boss' name which she refused to give to me. I looked at her staff and said, "this is how NOT to be a manager." That must have set her off because she said, "You want unprofessional? How about this, go get a f***ing life! How's that?" So I grabbed my phone and said, "want to say that for the camera?" She said, "I'm calling the police". So she walked away and I stood at the counter waiting for my refund. The police showed up and she lied to him stating that I cussed her out and that she asked me multiple times to leave and that I refused. Neither of those things happened. I recorded the second half of the incident, which shows her insulting me and calling me ignorant and such. I'm happy to send this recording to whoever needs to see it. I won't post it on social media or anything because my goal isn't to harm anyone. I don't even want her to be fired. Maybe she was having an awful day. No idea. People are just people. There is room for grace. But this just escalated in such a quick and bizarre way that it definitely needs attention given to the situation. Definitely needs training. And probably some therapy. I called corporate but I know how these things tend to fall through the cracks. Once I feel this has been resolved appropriately, I'm happy to remove this rating. read more

Was just a little on the fence about this place after the grand opening and the first visit. Had a chance to dine at PDQ for a special event today and I found out more about the restaurant. All their food is fresh and nothing is frozen or microwaved. I really love their commitment to serving fresh, non gmo foods. The chicken tenders are double breaded and so delicious. The creamy ranch is perfectly garlicky. My favorite menu item is the blueberry coleslaw, a nice balance of sweet and savory with none of the flavors too overpowering. Their fries are all cut and refrigerated, not frozen like many fast food places, so after cooking they are more like natural potatoes and not ultra crispy like processed fries. I think they have a very good flavor, although they did cool off more rapidly than other places fries. That's actually a good thing, less processing and more natural flavor is my preference. Happy I was able to come back and see they have stepped up their food and service! Love the house made lemonade and all the dipping sauces. Try the creamy ranch or the buffalo-bleu. Another great chicken place what can I say? In comparison to another Chick Fil A; they offer the same great customer service with a more variety of salads and homemade dipping sauces. What makes this place different is they offer a few signature sandwiches such as the Buffy bleu and the Cali club both come with the traditional bun, grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato but it's the sauces that make them taste great. I love the mix of buffalo sauce and bleu cheese added to the Buffy bleu and the crispy bacon with avocado on the Cali club. Sandwiches are $4.39, meals are $8.99; slightly steeper cost than their competitors. I normally just order the sandwiches or side of nuggets because their fries are just soggy. I understand the whole take of being healthy offering fried chicken with salads but a restaurant wanted to add a fatty option, at least make it good, make it crispy. All in all; fast, friendly service, the establishment is very clean and with a contemporary updated look. I've seen PDQ in various locations over the last year or so and today I finally had a chance to eat at one. First they offer CheerWine, if you've never had CheerWine it's a treat. Second the have a Coke FreeStyle machine, so they address any thirst issues. I went with a tender meal, lightly battered juicy chicken, that I immediately smoothered in Sweet Sriracha suace . Since I was watching my weight this week I traded the fries for blueberry coleslaw which despite its rave reviews I found it just "Ok". I ordered the crispy turkey sandwich which was definitely different to what I'm used to. it was quite enjoyable and I really liked the spicy sauce that came on it. My fiancé ordered the buffalo chicken tender sandwich, which we both agreed was our favorite of the two. The chicken tenders were so fresh and delicious. I suggest going through the drive thru for those who may be hard of hearing as it's currently a mad house in the restaurant itself since it just recently opened about a week ago. We could hardly hear our order taker over the rest of the customers chatter. I'm sure things will quiet down some once the "opening" Rush dies out. My favorite meal is their chicken tenders, and they have seven sauces to choose from (I like the sweet sriracha sauce and the creamy garlic sauce). Comes with tater tots, and I love how they taste; they have a mild taste, I think you taste more potato and they don't seem too greasy (they give you a lot of tots for one order).
