I've had mixed results here. I usually get the Thai Peanut bowl, and the chicken is the best part. However sometimes they pile on too much of the sugary tropical mango salsa which kind of ruins the dish. I've yet to try the other bowls. Also, sometimes the portion size of chicken tenders is generous and other times it is stingy. Next I will try one of their shakes. Oof. Another price increase recently, a normal, not upgraded sandwich meal cost me 11.55, that is a RIDICULOUS price to pay for a sandwich meal at a fast food place. My husband and I usually alternate between Chick-fil-A and PDQ when we want fast food, but now we definitely won't be regulars at PDQ anymore. The food is ready as fast as any fast food restaurant, but the quality of the food definitely exceeds other fast food restaurants. The chicken items all taste like they were freshly breaded and cooked, instead of frozen chicken being deep fried until it is tough and crunchy. The only things I've had that I am not a fan of are their Buffalo Blue sauce because I don't like Blue Cheese, and their new Peanut sauce, which just didn't taste good to me at all. PDQ is finally in the Orlando area! Rejoice! Those in the Tampa area know this is a great addition to the fast food market. I've had the grilled chicken sandwich and fried chicken tenders. You can tell how fresh the chicken is the moment you take a bite. The tenders are better, and the honey mustard puts them over the top good. The creamy garlic and BBQ sauces are top notch, to. The fries on my first visit were soggy. But PDQ changed the way they make their fries shortly after opening. After they're hand cut, they stay refrigerated longer. This helps get them crunchy when they're cooked. And on my Second visit, they were crunchy, perfect and fresh. Still, the chicken is the star. But the superstar is the shake. I've had Heath, Oreo and chocolate peanut butter. Heath is the best but you can't go wrong with any flavor. The service is outstanding, too. Adam and Marcia are super friendly. Love this "fast food" place! I typically go through the drive through, so I can't say too much about the indoor experience, but the drive-thru is always a great experience. Best thing is you place your order with an actual person and not some muffled speaker and hope and pray they got the order right before driving around! The person taking the orders is always friendly and helpful when I have any questions. I appreciate that they offer fast healthy options here and I don't have to struggle with what item on the menu is going to cause me the less guilt! Lol! By the time I roll around to pick up my food, I'm usually treated with my drink and the food shortly after. Less than impressive visit. Had many options in the area, namely Chic Fil A but I was running out of Walmart and Decodieren to come here recalling their butter honey chicken. I ordered from the App and meal was to be ready in 6 minutes. I entered the restaurant and walked to the mobile pickup which has 1 person in front of me holding a dog talking to the associate. I saw two bags on the oven and assumed one may be mine (food is getting cold) but the associate continues on her phone talking to the person holding the dog who has departed briefly to wash the dogs face at the hand wash station. I have not been asked why I'm standing in the mobile order line as yet so I decided to talk to the order register associate. I wasn't prepared for being told I'm new here and hold on as she answered a cellphone call then proceeded to take the phone to the person preparing the food. Finally after the call I asked for the name on the order and given my food. It as still warm but has been sitting on the oven a while. It has been thrown together with only a couple of sorry looking pickles. The taste was worth nothing and the sweet tea had been watered down. I don't think I will be returning as Red Robin is just next door and Panda Express. With so many options it makes sense to go somewhere that customers are appreciated. read more

Very disorganized and dirty at 2:00 pm on a Saturday. Many wrappers, pieces of paper, and sticky liquid on the floor throughout the restaurant. The "caution" wet floor sign was sloppily displayed by the fountain drink area and no one cleaned up the pool of sticky liquid while I was there (about 20-25 mins waiting on my order). I was ignored for 5-7 mins at the mobile pick up area. I had to wait 20 min longer yet the app stated my order was completed in 9 mins. Clearly the employees complete it to avoid being marked late with their system. The order was incomplete missing lemonade, sauces, salad dressing, and the food wasn't tasty. I had to go back in and I explain I was missing items and I was again ignored and it took another 5-7 mins to get my missing items. The chicken was so bland both the spicy and regular chicken tenders. What a disappointment. Our go to location in Tampa doesn't have a flavor issue. In addition, the mac n cheese was chewy. What's surprising is the employees looked busy and would many minutes later acknowledge you and take a long time to actually follow through and give food or missing items. This location is an outlier I feel. We've gone to many locations in tampa and haven't had any issues like this. Why was the food so rubbery and flavorless? I ordered 10 count of regular chicken tenders, 10 count of spicy chicken tenders, family size fry, family size mac n cheese, and a side salad. It took a good 20 mins later than it said it was ready! And the order was wrong! Someone needs to reset the poor worth ethic and attitudes of these employees. And keep the restaurant clean! I wiped down my own tables. read more

This visit being my first, I'll give them 4 stars. If they're as good next time they'll earn the extra star. No complaints from me though. I had the crispy chicken salad, and a strawberry milkshake. Both were excellent with the shake having several chunks of strawberries in it, not too thin and not so thick you can't drink with a straw. The salad was a mix of spring greens with diced cucumber, shredded carrots, cherry tomatoes and plenty of lightly breaded chicken. I was impressed that the chicken was warm, not ice cold nor fresh out of the fryer scalding hot that has a tendency to wilt the best of any salad. The first time that I visited PDQ Sanford there was a line around the building for their drive-thru, so I ended up going somewhere else for lunch because I didn't want to wait. The fact that there was a line, though, made me feel like it was probably good food, so I returned on a different day to give it a try. Since I had never been there before I was at first confused by their drive-thru setup, which has you look at a menu on a board and then drive around to give your order to a person at a window. The worker at the window was not very helpful at all; she took my order but didn't ask me about things like what sauce or sides I wanted with my combo. While I understand that this is a chain restaurant, I also wasn't very impressed by the fact that you could look into their drive-thru window and see shelves of boxed and canned products that they cook with and serve. It felt sloppy and unprofessional to have those things stored in a place where the customer can see them, and it just hammered home that they're not actually making most of the things that they serve you but just repackaging them from a can or a box. After I paid and got around to the other window to pick up my food, the girl there asked me about which sauces I would like and gave me my food. I wish that I had checked my order before I left because when I got home, I realized that they left out my zucchini fries, which was the one item I was actually excited to try from their menu, so that was disappointing. Overall the food was average; the chicken tenders at Publix are better than PDQ, but their sauces were good and the fries that I did receive were decent. If I were to try PDQ Sanford again I would have to go inside to eat, as I wasn't satisfied with the drive thru service or the quality of food to go. read more

Stumbling across several PDQ's in the Tampa area and never having a chance to try it... was pretty excited when one was coming to the area. The drive thru experience was awesome. Check out the menu and instead of talking into a speaker to who knows who... you drive up to a window and you are given face to face interaction with the person taking your order. She was very pleasant and helpful. Put the order in... and your total is $25... $25.?!? for some (and by some I mean about total 11 total pieces total of all the meals) chicken tenders, 2 small cups of fries, a soft drink, yoo hoo, and milk shake. Goodness.... this better be good. Get to the pick up window... another lady is awesome and repeats our order back. Wow, very nice. Get home... First thing that upset me was the box was soggy. From only about a 10 minute drive the box that you put the food in should be able to withhold a short drive. So at this point the fries in the cups were dripping down. And why are the fries in a cup? Now... comparable to lets say Zaxbys, they place their friends in a closed container so that would be more efficient especially being that they put the friends on top of a non sturdy box and then into a flimsy plastic bag. Tenders are super small and skinny, and tasteless. They were easy to chew but that is about it. The sauces were very disappointing as well. The garlic one was blah, the bbq sauce looked like salsa not a sauce, and the one that sounded sweet didn't look appetizing. The shake was also super thick... who wants to wait 20 minutes to start drinking the drink they ordered as at that point it will actually suck through the straw! I wanted to give this review 1 star, but the employees were awesome so that bumped it up. Disappointed. read more

It's been an hour and nobody is sick yet, but all four of us are feeling woozy. Young kid working the counter was not familiar with menu. Cold and dry fries. Nuggets had a lot of rubbery gristle. Tenders, the flagship of the restaurant, were very bland and had spent a lot of time in a warmer. They were very dry. The blueberry coleslaw is simply coleslaw with blueberries in it. Could tell it wasn't salted and drained cabbage, just rubbery raw cabbage shredded and sauced with blueberries tossed in. Grilled chicken on grilled chicken salad was several hours old, very dry, very old texture. Again, I'm not a hater. I give objective reviews. Won't return to this place.
