I stop here every time in Anchorage. This is another CLASSIC Anchorage restaurant/bar. They have upscaled the other side after taking it over, but the real cool factor is in the vintage bar. the old side is filled with TV's, Nascar, and hunting trophies. what a great combo! If it is nice out you can hit the deck with the creek running next to you, very nice! Order any of the melts and leave with a grin. the beer choices are so good you would think you were in Portland! I tried again for lunch today and again was sorely disappointed. Maybe even worse than before. I had a BLT and a cup of clam chowder, both awful. The bacon had no flavor, not sure how that happens, and the bread was stale and barely toasted. My chowder tasted like lukewarm milk. My co-worker had the grilled ham and swiss. Again, no grill on the bread at all. 1 small slice of ham and processed swiss cheese. It's a fun place but the food just gets worse and worse. Definitely not trying again. read more

This place is infected with a clique system. If you're not one of the regulars that the bartenders all recognize, you're not in the club and service will be really Also, they allow a group of guys to run the "Saint's room", god forbid you get on their bad side. We came back to try this place one more time, since its special to us. We got married here in 2011. Cajun wings were awesome. The 5 alarm that has a warning (see photo). Was not enough heat. Waitress told us #5 isn't as hot as #4. So I asked for #4 sauce, which was hotter but not enough to warrant a warning. Sad u cant return to a wing place to find wings the same. Staff was great, speed of food awesome. Wings were meaty and well cooked, but lack of heat cost a star. As per owner, told waitress who just had excuses. Ughhh when did it get so bad :/ I use to come here and have an average experience. Now... the food is just not edible. Decent prices on alcohol and good spot to catch a game... but please do yourself a favor and don't order food. It's gone way downhill over the past few years (bartender blamed Covid....) Travis I know you read this, believe me when I say you should be happy I'm not posting photos... terrible food. One of the waitresses acted like she didn't want to be there as well and acted inconvenienced to take our drink order. I found a new cool spot with a terrace where you can relax and have some food and drinks. It is really a sport bar with huge screens, pool tables and a bar. But I chose the terrace with the creek passing by, geese and kayakers. Food was very good. We ordered a philly burger and it was awesome. Fries were good. What is most impressive about this place is the shear size of bar and the number of TVs. The food is just okay bar style food but they serve breakfast lunch and dinner which means you can catch all the sports at all the times. I tried their "Best Wings in Anchorage." They were okay. I'll ask for them to be extra crispy next time as some of them had that rubbery/soggy texture wings get. I also had the pastrami with fire fries. Decent serving, and their ranch is delicious, homemade possibly. The pastrami was a little tough. Bartenders were on point but not overly friendly. Pool tables and darts available. Totally dig it but as for food sorry but ya lost me. Overpriced food and bad service man. The fries I ordered with my fish and chips were soggy like they had been sitting underneath a lamp for a good 10 minutes. When I asked for a new batch the other ones tasted the same. The margarita I ordered sat at the bar for a good 5 minutes while it got watery from all the ice and it tasted disgusting. I'm sorry but I'm glad I was treated to this place. This is an a-ok place. It's a large sports bar with plenty of huge TVs. If you opt to sit at a table around the bar, there's even a small TV at each table. So you'll never miss a game here. The bar area is large with ample seating. And then there's booths all around the bar. Plus some tables, as well as tables in the "outside" area. The "outside" area is actually indoors, it's just slightly separate from the bar area and has a pretty view. The service definitely leaves something to be desired here. Order everything you want and ask for everything you may need the first time you see your server as it may be the only time you see him/her. Even at the bar this is the case. They've never been crowded when I've been here, so I'm not sure what's up with the inattentive service. The beer offerings are meh. More than most sports bars, but lacking considering how many breweries there are in Alaska. The menu is diverse, but pay attention to the times listed on each page. Most items are only available during certain time. Before 11am for breakfast and after 3pm for dinner. The wings are pretty good. The meat itself is not the best quality. But they are cooked well. And the sauces are delicious and actually quite spicy. I like spicy and the 3 Alarm was good enough for me. I can't even imagine what the 5 Alarm must be like. The default dipping sauce is blue cheese. It's a very standard, run-of-the-mill blue cheese. If you prefer ranch (or want both), you'll have to ask for it. You can only choose one sauce unless you order 2 dozen, then you can choose two. However, special hint, if you don't know which sauce you want, asking for some samples. All in all, the items are overpriced, but the wings are worth it. The ambiance and vibe are super casual. And don't expect actual service. read more

I've been here a few times and have always been really pleased with the food and service. Based on my experiences here, I thought the Peanut Farm was more akin to a TGI Friday's or Applebee's, rather than being marketed just as a bar. I tried to bring my 20 year old friend here for her birthday dinner, but we were asked to leave by our very rude male server when she couldn't provide an ID for the beer I had ordered. After we were rudely notified that we couldn't be in there, I made a simple apology and said "My mistake, I thought this was a restaurant" and our server quipped back, "yeah well it's a restaurant and a bar". I am doubtful that I will ever return to Peanut Farm after being spoken to so rudely. A simple explanation, without the snotty tone, would have been sufficient. Long story short, if you're under 21, don't bother, even if it's 7 pm on a Wednesday and you only walk in and order a water. read more

I know delivery things aren't the same as sit down service. Ordered fish and chips through DoorDash. It was delivered timely. I have no issue with DoorDash. My food was colder than it should've been. I don't live that far from Peanut Farm. The fries were cold and it makes me think they were old. I've had this dish at a sit down meal and it was yummy! I will not order delivery from here again. A sports centered restaurant/bar - Peanut Farm is always open for 9am games. Its easy for us to choose Peanut Farm over their competition, because of their consistent great service. Not to mention, the TV's are everywhere, huge and high-definition. I appreciate how casual this place is. On game days, the employees dress in their favorite team jerseys. It's a good vibe. I recommend showing up 5-10min before your game starts to secure a seat. In spring/early summer my spouse and I get seats in the remodeled area that overlooks the creek. I love those large garage door/windows. When we have our kids, Peanut Farm has large wraparound booths (minimum of 3 people) with private TV's. They can easily fit a party of 5, with room to spare. Your server will have your remote. The food is basic bar fare - affordable, shareable, and filling. I get the corn fritters and southwest egg-rolls most visits. The drinks are just okay. They have beer specials and rotating seltzer options. Im always hoping they'll have more local tap options, but I usually end up with an Angry Orchard. When we visit Peanut Farm to watch a game, we're there the entire game. I appreciate how the servers make my family and I feel welcomed. Great views, great food, great drinks. Had their blueberry martini to start, which was absolutely delicious, followed by their Swiss French dip. I expected Swiss cheese based on the name, but it definitely was topped with white American. No biggie, though, as it was still very tasty. Nothing fancy, just meat, cheese, and bread, but very satisfying. My husband had the Buffalo wings as he always had to when we come here because they're so good! He also got the chef salad with chicken and reindeer sausage and, despite my usual dislike for reindeer sausage, I have to say their sausage is actually pretty dang good. My sandwich includes a side, so I had chowder with mine and it was very flavorful, with celery and potatoes. All in all, very great meal! read more

First of all, it is a Sports Bar, that being said it's loud. In the summer they offer outside seating by the creek which makes it nice if you aren't there for sports television. My husband and I were seated right away for dinner. Our waitress was there right away to get our orders and was very friendly. We both had a cheese burger and fries. The burger was a half pounder and delicious. The complaint I have is that they use American cheese on the burger and not a good cheddar. It just made the burger taste cheap and the meal was not cheap trust me. It's a great gathering place with friends for sports, food and alcohol. read more

Man this place really needs to get it together. We sat ourselves during a football Sunday and waited like a half hour for a server to come over (we totally understood it was busy). The waitress was super nice took our order.....about an hour and a half went by and the food came (only a portion of it). The other half took about another half hour. We finally just got annoyed and asked to speak to the manager (we wanted our check and wanted to go). Manager finally came over after we ended up getting our check (he took off 15 bucks ). He asked if we were ok and told us he took some money off the bill. We just kept walking.... That manger should have been hands on along time ago. His staff was in the weeds and he was not making it any better. We were not the only people who had things go south. Football season is finally here which means going back to the Peanut Farm to catch the NFL games on Sunday! The Peanut Farm is one of the premier sports bars in town to catch any sporting event and one of the most popular places for watching football. Located on the corner of Old Seward and International next to the former Sourdough Mining Co. and across from the Arctic Roadrunner, this place is jam-packed with people every Sunday. The parking lot in the front is always full, but they have plenty of extra parking behind the restaurant off of Juneau St. It is highly recommended to come early and grab a decent seat at the bar or a table about 15 to 20 minutes before your game starts. The restaurant is divided into two sections. The original Peanut Farm side on the south end has more of a cozy lounge feel with older chairs and tables. The bar is set up in the middle of the seating area as well as a fireplace across from the counter. The newer side has a large expansive bar area with a long counter and bar stools set up all around to watch the massive display of big screen projections on all sides of the walls. This is where I decided to leave my review at three stars rather than four. The atmosphere and the seating area on both sides can be very crowded and chaotic on game day. If you arrive a few minutes before your game starts, you will be hard-pressed to find a seat anywhere and you will have to wait until a spot opens up. That is highly unlikely during a football game and frustration is evident with a lot of people who come in and have no choice but to stand in the aisles to watch the game while servers are weaving around them to serve diners. This can be easily taken care of by eliminating the booths next to the bar and knocking down the middle wall in order to expand the seating area for better viewing and moving space. The employees here are friendly, but clearly overwhelmed at times. They are quick to take your order for drinks and food, but be prepared for a wait every Sunday when NFL games are on throughout the day. The food here can be hit or miss. East coast games start at 9AM AK time and breakfast is the only thing available to order around this time. I have ordered their Traditional Country Breakfast of two eggs over-medium, hash browns, whole wheat toast with butter, and thick-cut bacon. The thick-cut bacon was fantastic. However, because of the large crowds and the added wait time, the rest of my food was slightly warm when it arrived. Lunch and dinner provided a better dining experience for me on afternoon and evening football games. The Mozzarella Sticks are monster-size and absolutely delicious. This is easily my favorite appetizer to get from the Peanut Farm along with the Cajun Dry Rub Wings. The Stone-fired Pizzas are also another one of my favorites on the menu. These pizzas are some of the best I've had here in town and the ones I've tried are the Farm Style Sicilian Pizza (sweet Italian sausage, Capicola ham, Julienne salami, Monterey jack, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses topped with oregano and basil) and the Roasted Garlic Chicken (roasted garlic, grilled chicken, mozzarella, onions, white wine, and garlic butter sauce). I had the Yukon Burger on a previous visit (Canadian bacon, Swiss cheese, and buffalo sauce) with Sweet Potato Fries, but the burger lacked flavor. The fries however were very good and came with a cinnamon butter dipping sauce. This place can be very enjoyable and a lot of fun to hang out for a few hours if things turn out right on your visit. The seating arrangement along with the narrow aisles coupled with the crowds are a consistent problem and make all the difference on whether you want to stay or leave. When it's not crowded, the dining experience can be enjoyable and they have a large patio for dining outside next to a flowing river on a warm sunny day. The food here is worth a try when the kitchen isn't backed up. They also hold viewing parties every Sunday night for anyone who is a fan of The Walking Dead TV show. If you decide to come here for a game, just hope that your timing and luck work for you once you step in through the doors. read more
