The Peanut Farm has a spot in our world, and it has nothing to do with sports and had everything to do with Wings & Beer!! It's a beloved location for after work celebrations with friends being promoted or moving on, along with just wanting beer and wings! I'm finding that I review wings quite often, I may or may not have a problem. Anywho, I digress... we do have a love for chicken wings and adding in an ice cold Blue Moon doesn't do anything but make it even tastier! We order them crispy, because soggy wings are sacrilege in my book. Dry rub, Cajun are our favorites and we have never had a bad one! Sometimes, the service could be better, but hey, it's a bar. This restaurant used to have wonderful food and customer service, however after ordering through grub hub we were beyond disappointed. The steak was over cooked, absolutely no seasoning or flavor, baked potato was VERY over cooked and the salad was wilted. Hubs and I went there today after not being there for at least 5 years. And we remembered why we don't go there as often as we used to. The service is still awful. It isn't the individual servers that are bad, it's the server/ table ratio. It also has to do with whatever sporting event happens to be going on. And apparently today there was a new kitchen staff? It's the middle of June and they haven't figured out the tourism industry yet? We had two requests, no meat on a pizza and would willingly pay for extra portions on another plate. Neither of the requests happened until 20 minutes after we received our food. One positive, the pizza we originally ordered was still up for grabs in the kitchen window. The server brought out my ordered pizza after I explained the mistake. She also brought out the extra serving my husband requested. I'm not sure if she charged us for my hubs extra food or not but a bill for one pizza, one and half order of fish and fries, appetizer of corn fritters (delicious by the way, totally order those), one big Hefeweizen and an iced tea was $60. The fish and chips were good but the portion is very small hence the request for extra fish. If, you aren't from here that price tag may seem hefty, it is and isn't. There are plenty of places to eat in town for less, you just won't have the same view. The seating area is pretty awesome. Be patient and get a place on the patio (new side) or deck on the old side. I guess if you aren't in a huge hurry to get somewhere and you order straight from the menu you'll be happy. The food is okay. I wish I had ordered the Yukon burger instead of the pizza. Oh, another good point for TPF, they bring drinks out super fast, get your Uber game on point. Of course, I may be biased because I remember it as the small bar it used to be and reading the things people wrote in the grout in the bathroom. "I walk the line" "There is no line" "This line is your line, this line is my line". It was fun to read. The bathroom on the new side is terrible. Totally unmaintained, bins overflowing, toilets with water stains (no the water is not that hard in Anchorage),an old dispensary of some sort on the wall, paste from some old ads on the inside of the stalls, one stall couldn't shut properly and one stall didn't have a latch. Wow, went on about the restrooms a bit but if a business doesn't pay attention to the restrooms what else are they not paying attention to? read more

For sport lovers out there....If you want a place to watch almost any sport you can imagine take a visit to Peanut Farm. It has a nice cozy atmosphere and ginormous-screen TVs in almost every direction. We sat at the bar and the service was great, our bartender checked on us frequently and the drinks were strong and good however the food was just alright in preparation and in presentation and little pricey. The only reason this place gets three stars is for the beer. Everything else was just bad. I ordered the club sandwich. I've had it before, and it was great. Today it was just gross. After watching the lady make it, it sat in a window for over 30 minutes. Several servers passed it, even pulled other food. My fries sat under a heat lamp for over ten minutes. Finally a girl came and put it together. It was delivered. The sandwich was dry, no Mayo, which I did not ask them to do. Barely toasted bread.Fries were greasy and gross. No one checked to see how it was. I was left eating the cheese and bacon because it was the only edible thing. For 13.50, I feel robbed. Nice job Peanut Farm. You weren't even busy! To add an added bonus, ordered another beer, took ten minutes to get it and my check. Sandwich was still in front of me, and still the bartender didn't ask if everything was okay. Great place. Good service and a varied menu with something for everyone. Ample portions. Reasonable prices and great atmosphere riverside on the 'old side'. I have had the salmon platter here, but this visit shared a couple platters of wings. The Level 3 alarm is perfectly heated (too hot for most), but flavored deliciously. What good is a lot of heat unless there's a lot of great flavor? Thankfully, both are bull's-eyes with the wings regardless of the strength. The 'new side' with all the big TVs is impressive with the way they have arranged the screens. It's the sports fan temple and no other place can rival it for the view and setting. read more

So I'm a stranger in town but I'm wielding the all-powerful Yelp Mobile App. I'm in the mood for a sports bar and the App brings me here. Once again my fellow Yelpers are right on because this is a standard three star place. I blow in on a Sunday afternoon and discover that this is a big place as sports bars go. The bar is also big and there are lots of booths and tables. The overall atmosphere is a little odd. There are loads of TVs of several sizes and many of them were turned off. It gave the place and odd half-open feel. The top of the bar itself is a strange white plastic. I'm sure it's easy to clean put once again it looked odd. I visited the men's room and discovered the stall had no door. That's just plain tacky. When I was there it was very slow with maybe a dozen patrons. I sat at the bar and ordered a drink. My bartender was fine and the quality of service was fine throughout my stay. Of course that wasn't hard as it was very slow. I perused the large menu and there was everything you would expect. I ordered the Pastrami Dip for $11.25. It was served with Swiss cheese and Dijon mustard and came with a pickle and fries. I'm a huge fan of pastrami so I was hoping for something special. Nope. It was fine but I'd call it just A OK. So for me it was just another sports bar with a slightly odd vibe. If somebody invited me to watch a game here I'd say "sure." What I wouldn't say is "Oh wow, that's great!" There was just nothing memorable about my visit. read more

I am a regular at the Peanut Farm. I am there every Sunday for breakfast to watch football. Lately however, the breakfast has been very sub-standard!! The omelette is often overcooked. And the overall the consistency of the quality is lacking immensely. Whoever is running the kitchen needs to be seriously talked to! The menu for breakfast is also very limited which makes it hard to pick through and get anything decent off the menu. It's a great place to watch sports. Plenty of TVs all around and lots of seating around the bar. It would be nice if they had more than one bartender working the (huge) bar when we went. The place wasn't packed or anything, but most of the seating around the bar was taken. So the bartender was having to cover all ends and sides of it. She was attentive enough and my drinks were good. We got some sliders and fritters and they were both good. Nothing special, but good enough sports bar food. We probably would only come back for some major sporting event. read more

Popular spot but you have to beg for service. I ordered the Irish coffee and pineapple upside down cake. Irish coffee is 5 star but small for the price. Pineapple upside down cake tastes good but not fabulous -I'd say 3 star. Service of 1 star brings the rating down. I won't return. Bonus is the deck seating is right by a beautiful stream. There's nicer places but this is fine for a drink and a bite. My girlfriends rated their drinks good as well. A strawberry margarita, beer and wine. All decent drinks. read more

Best wings in town, voted by Anchorage Press definitely very good wings. Rest of their menu is pretty alright, can get very loud on busy nights. Our order was missing dressings, sour cream, sauces, utensils but our waitress got all of it quickly. Chili wasn't that great, rib eye was very good, they made decent fries. Overall it's pretty good, definitely go for wings if you like them. read more

My favorite sports bar in Anchorage. "The Farm", as the locals call it, is always busy. As Jared stated they have TV's everywhere. A couple years ago "The Farm" expanded by building the newer building that you see from the street, which more than doubled their square footage. It is referred to as "the new side". If the new side is too noisy for you try walking down the hall to the old side. The old side is in the original log cabin that the bar operated in for many years. They have a very nice selection of beer and spirits to choose from. They have an extensive menu for a bar. I seem to gravitate towards their hot wings and steamed clams whenever I am there with my friends. Everybody loves a big deck, and "The Farm" has one. Attached to the old side is a large outdoor deck that overlooks Campbell Creek. During the summer King Salmon migrate up this creek to spawn. Few things in Anchorage are better than drinking a beer at "The Farm", on the deck and watching Salmon swim up stream with a few good friends. read more

The burgers were pretty good but the fish and chips weren't very good. The fish was slender cuts that were mostly batter. The actual fish component was smaller in diameter than a fish stick. As an Alaskan this is unacceptable. Fish should be larger enough to be moist and not dry. Stick to burgers or wraps on the lunch menu if you dine here. read more

This is great sports bar with really good food. Our friend from Fairbanks introduced us to it. We went there late the first time, and it was a great place to hang out, have a few beers, and watch as much Sports as you want. We liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch with our friend and few other friends who had just arrived. We sat at one of the booths with the personal TV, which was pretty cool. I had the tangy turkey sandwich, was was excellent, but the sweet potato fires stole the show, some of the best ones I have ever had. My husband had the wings and loved them. I also tried the fried halibut one of my friends got and thought it was cooked perfectly (and much better than when I had it at Humpy's). Great beer selection too. The place is huge and has some outdoor patio seating. Service was excellent and very friendly. This is a great local sports bar to have, wish we had one like this in the Heights. read more

Came in one Sunday morning to watch a Caps game and ordered a little of the hair of the dog that bit me. Ordered clam chowder and a friend ordered a burger. Both were typical. Ive been here before and ordered burgeres, fish sandwiches, etc... Reasonably priced, but I would say they charge a bit more for the beer than some places. The original section is in the back and they used to allow smoking in there, though I'm not sure about now. It's a good time with no frills and large TVs. read more

Went here while visiting Anchorage. We tried the cron fritters, which we had never had before. They were okay, fried dough and corn. I got the chicken and avocado wrap which was yummy. My sister got the mozzarella sticks that they make there and were delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food and we liked sitting out back by the creek. Only downside is the road is right there. Our party had four adults and two kids and the Peanut Farm did a great job of accommodating us and making sure we had everything we needed. I had fish and chips and it was really good! One of the best parts was sitting in the back by the window overlooking the creek. My nephew loved waving to boaters who came by and looking for ducks. This was our first visit to The Peanut Farm. Food, atmosphere, and service were all great. Nice view of the creek while eating.

I honestly wish I could put zero stars. Which hurts me to say because I was born and raised here and I appreciate a local sports bar/restaurant like this. I came here a few times throughout the years growing up and never had a great experience. But today was some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and I travel all around the states. Because of this I'm writing a yelp review. I came here with 2 other friends of mine (both have never been before) for a UFC fight. I completely understand that on nights like this it's going to be busy, and service may be slower than usual. I would never hold that against the Peanut Farm. However, I ordered my food at 6:10pm the main event started around 8:20pm and I had never received my food. My 2 friends got their entries at 7:40pm. (1hr 30min wait) but we never received our appetizers and I ended up leaving starving because I didn't get ANYTHING to eat. As the night was coming to an end I politely asked the server if we could have our checks whenever it was convenient for her. She brought out the check and I let her know (politely) that I never received my food and we didn't get our appetizers. So we were just going to pay for what we received. Which I thought was fair at this point. Our waitress left looking concerned that she might go let the kitchen know they messed up. But no. Instead Travis B approaches us aggressively and tells us that there are cameras surrounding us and that if he can see we were eating food he's going to call the police. I could not believe this is how we were being treated as paying customers. I explained to him the situation and that I never received any food. He quickly explained that the waitress told him that I told her "none of us received our food." Which was incorrect and a lie. After Travis B left us in shock and disbelief, the waitress apologized and said she didn't know he was going to yell at us like that. I understand that we're all human and miscommunications happen. However it was extremely unprofessional for Travis B to approach us like he did. At least give us the benefit of the doubt and figure out what the situation is before treating us like criminals. After all was said and done, Travis B pulled me to the side to apologize, explain his actions with excuses, blame the situation on the waitress, and offer me a food credit or gift card of some sort. I briefly explained to him of my concern with the situation and politely denied his offer. The Peanut Farm has been around since the late 1950s, and you'd think they could handle a simple non-belt UFC fight.. but they can't. The service was terrible and I will not be back. Neither will the two friends I brought. If you're reading this review I recommend Buffalo Wild Wings. I can see that Travis B responds to a lot of the negative reviews, but save your fingers Travis B, there's no excuse you can come up with to justify your actions, and I don't want to hear another apology. You guys screwed up big time. And I hope you learn from your mistake, so that future customers will never experience what we experienced tonight. read more

Went there today for lunch with some co workers, very crowded and loud. I understand it's a sports bar but it took a long time to even get someone over to our table to take our order. There were 5 of us and my lunch didn't get put in, so everyone got there food and were finished eating before my food came out. I ordered a teriyaki chicken sandwich and it tasted like BBQ chicken with pineapple on it. Not very good at all, I ordered the house salad instead of the fries and I think they left it under the warmer because it was wilted and warm. The manager did apologize for my order being late and didn't charge me but that doesn't make me want to come back. I don't recommend the food but if you are there for the games you will love it, a ton of TV's read more

Only negative I can really say is that the breading on the fish was super soggy, probably just because it was put into a styrofoam container while still hot. But everything still tasted pretty good. An excellent location to watch the game you want. They have so many TVs, I most count at 20...Their service is the best and accommodating to the max. Worked diligently to locate my team/channel and when the network changed their programming, the bartender was quick respond and fix it again...Definitely recommend this place for watching your favorite team and eating. Do you want a burger the size of your head that is flavorful and messy as heck? Of course you do. I got the cheddar mushroom bacon burger with fries and a side of four alarm and five alarm wing sauce, which I doused my burger with and dipped my fries into. Everything was delicious and the beer choices are amazing. I would have 5-starred the place, but it's expensive, even for Anchorage, so I'm not sure I can justify it. The wing sauces are actually pretty spicy, especially for Anchorage, but I can't tell a real spice difference between 4 and 5 star. 4 star has a much better flavor, but 5 has a decent barbecue sauce flavor, so, if you're into spicy barbecue sauce, get the 5-star. read more

Today I bought a 5.25 pint of Bud Lite at the Peanut Farm. What kind of "sports bar" in 2019 sells a light draft domestic for over 4 bucks. Go to any other sports bar in Anchorage and pay 2 bucks for light beer. If you happen to be there for the food, expect mediocre across the board. I'm not sure if they make anything particularly well. However the seating along the Campbell Creek is superb. Do yourself a favor this summer, float the Campbell to the Peanut farm, down 2 Alaskan Ice Tea's, and then continue down the river and get a sandwich at Arctic Roadrunner across the street. read more

I have been a big fan of the Peanut Farm since I moved to Anchorage, but I will have to gripe about the amount of food I ordered from GrubHub for $17 and change this past time. I had the fish and chips plate, which seemed more like a snack than an entree. I had a ton of fries and 5 tiny(I'd wager to say a chicken nugget and a half size) pieces of fish with my meal. The fish was overcooked, but tasted ok. Now, I'd totally understand to get a meal like that cheaper, but for $17, I'd really appreciate heartier fillets and less fries. Thanks! read more
