I KNOW! I HATE LONG REVIEWS TOO, BUT THERE WAS JUST SOO MUCH TO TELL: Referred here by 2 people. Made it clear to them that I was a NEW customer. Based on the reviews it seems they like to treat their established customers a lot better than their new customers. Customer service was ok. But the actual service was effin horrible. I had French Manicure done, while the nail itself is ok the white "french part"was not, (take a look at the pix) the white line was super crooked on all nails. I get the gel set and their technique was a lot different than I've seen, for instance once the gel is dried off they usually wipe off your nails with acetone, which did not happened and just left my nails feeling sticky for a few hours. While I was there they were having a promotion of eye lash extensions and they were showing off a lady who had them done, I was impressed so I said lets do it, HOLLY CRAP do I REGRET that! They made me pay for my nails before getting the lashes done, I thought this was kind of strange cuz usually they will charge you at the end of your services, but I was like what ever, I was excited to get this done since Ive never in my life put fake lashes, and I was TOO excited to even notice the crappy french tip that was done. The girl that did the lashes was sweet. But I am not sure if she knows how to properly apply them and this is why: They had me lay in a bed and taped up my eyes shut. The process of putting in the lashes didn't start till 15 min LATER! All I heard was her coming in and going out of the room, She notices that my upper eyebrows are a bit hairy (what can I say, the Hairy gene was passed down) and asks if she would like to wax that, at first I say no its fine, (just plucked out my eyebrows, didnt think I need to)but she kinda kept insisting so I was like fine maybe this will make her start the process. NOPE!! I lay there for another 10 min, asks me if I wanna wax my upper lip, Again I say no because I dont like waxing my "mustache" she insists I do, and like an IDIOT I cave in and say yes. Finally She starts the Effin lashes, Guess what time I finally left the place?? 9PM!!! I went in @ 5:30pm. We are the only ones left, every one else went home already! I hand her my debit card to pay and guess what? since this is a promotion they only accept CASH! Gee I wonder why that was not mentioned when they made me pay for my nails. She also charged me full price for waxing the upper part of my eyebrows! and charged me for the mustache wax as well!! Well she ends up driving with me to the bank to pull out cash, and apparently I drive too fast! I wonder why? PEOPLE STAY AWAY! P.S. THEY CHARGED $30 FOR NAILS/$10 FOR EYE BROW WAX/ $8 FOR MUSTACHE WAX AND $65 FOR LASHES ORIGINAL $135. Still kicking my ass for this crap! LESSON LEARNED! LASTLY! I get home, I look at my eye lashes, already 3 lashes comes out easily. Hour later, my EFFIN eyelids are in pain, swollen and red!! I see why, because the lashes are glued right on my eye lid (not along the real lash) some are half way glued on my eyelid which was irritating my eye lids. I kept waking up in the middle of the night because of how painful my eyes felt. The next day more fell off And I end up cutting off some that are glued to my lid which made the swelling go down. Third day and they still feel uncomfortable, but luckily no redness or swelling, probably because most of the lashes are gone. By the way I was told lashes were suppose to last up to 30 days! read more

I find it hard to see that anyone has posted a bad review about this place. I had been to so many other places before I fell in love with my friends nails in high school and what is when she sent me here. As far as quality of the nails and cleanliness of the salon goes...A++ I have been a dedicated customer for the past 8 years and now that I am going to school in southern california I do not always get the chance to get my nails done here. I still havnt found a good place down south that leaves me as satisfied as I am every time I leave pearl nails. They have the colored powder and I love them. They have all the cool colors you can imagine plus the glitter powder. I usually like doing a bright pink anytime I steer away from the traditional white. I always get compliments on my nails and when i do I send them to Lily. The most recent addition is their pre designed nail tips. They have gucci, louis vuitton, and chanel. i have yet to try them but the patters look better than what I have seen at other places. The pedicures here i also great, they have a small tub that is cleaned out after every pedicure so you can feel comfortable that it is safe. If you prefer the spa pedicure ask for that they have 2 very comfortable ones for you to enjoy. read more

I finally gave up on going here last year, after yet another appointment time wasn't honored. Several times in a year of having to either wait quite a long time or being asked to come back later (the last time, 90+ minutes later), and sometimes to not be given a choice to have another employee fill-in when I have made an appointment for Linda is completely unacceptable. I understand wanting to fit-in customers who don't have appointments, and/or to add extra services for those who do; but it's not ok to do so at the cost of having customers with appointments be extremely inconvenienced and made to feel that our time isn't valuable. I liked Linda and her work a lot, and I miss both; but accepting repeatedly being insulted that way just isn't for me. read more

I've been going to Pearl Nails for over 10 years. I get a gel fill every 2 to 3 weeks and a pedicure once a month. I usually have Linda do my fill and Linda or Mindy do my pedicure. I love my nail ladies!!! I am very hard on my nails and they never break or chip. It is your typical salon where all the girls speak in Vietnamese but it doesn't bother me because I don't like giving my life story to a room of strangers. I find this salon super relaxing and have on occasion fallen asleep during a fill. LOL. Side note - Elaine and Suzy are great at eyebrow treading. Ive been going there for about 5 yrs now...and theres no other place Id go. Lily does awesome nails and Mindy does the best pedicures. I really use gel unlike other places. Like the other reviewer said they do use a different technique Ive never seen or heard of.....always make your fills look like its a fresh new set!!! LOVE IT!!!! Came here to get my eye lash extensions done (by accident, it was supposed to be next door). I know, stupid me but I walked in and said I had an appointment with Teresa at 1PM. The lady up front nodding and yelled something in Vietnamese and another lady came out and was like, yes, please come in. So I went to the back room and she taped my eyes which was super uncomfortable and painful. She had asked how she knew of this place and I told her I had a Groupon and she said okay. During the whole process, she kept poking my eye with the false lashes. Mind you this is my first time so I didn't know any better. In total, it took her 2.5 hours and since she said she was going to put on 4 layers, I thought it was the norm. While waiting for the glue to dry, she started waxing and I'm like WTF I didn't ask for this and she kept insisting that it was better so I went with it since I was still on the table. When I went to pay with my Groupon, she told me it was cash only and that they didn't know what those were. Well, it would had been great if she told me ahead of time that she was NOT Teresa and that she did not have an appointment with me and that she did not know what a Groupon was. How deceiving! The extensions were clumpy and I was not able to even brush through it. It was hard to wash my make up off without having the lashes twist around and poke me in the eye. read more

Simple facts....make your own decision. The friendliness of perfect nails is great however that is about where is starts. I had a very late appt, on dec. 1st. planned for mani/pedi. I have to save my mani serve was great. Pedicure reg. red nail polish ( non lacquer ) literally chipped off in less than 48 hours. Not just little chips but chunk's. I took images as I had full intent to show pic's. As I was getting a mani and pedi I was approached by the lash extension lady. RUN as it is "you get what you pay for". I have had a few appt's for extensions before and since I was going to Vegas I thought...why not? I always get fake lashes at sephora and this will save me time. NOT. I just cannot say enough to avoid lashes here. WASTE! Mine lasted maybe 2 days on one eye only and they looked so bad. EVEN as I was looking at my lashes telling her, "this is not right" she kept telling me " no no no...it looks good...if too long just cut" yeah...well gee....lashes are tapered...cutting does not work. I loved the part where I was freezing and the lash gal said I would get a warm towel on my feet....it never came. Then I got my eyebrows dyed....GROCHO Marx and I am blue eyed blond ( highlights now). I came home and scrubbed my brows till there were raw red. Anyway, I like my brows now....I had some fixing to do and thank god late at night appt. as I could have NEVER gone out in public. So why did I say sure sure sure to all. Cuz...I have not taken the time to just beautify and I just thought why not...so now I will just drop in for a mani...if that. My mani was colorless....just a buff. How can you got wrong? There are soo sooo many great nail places. These old school places need to really get much better at services...and if they do not then they will get these reviews. read more

I'm shocked at how horrible of an experience my visit was. I went in just after 3:30, knowing I needed to leave by 4:15, but my plan was to just get a thorough manicure, no polish. While the ladies were very nice, they pushed an up sell, basically resigning themselves to rushing my service to get me out in time (partially my fault for saying OK, mainly theirs for knowing they didn't have enough time to do quality work). I actually asked to cut the service early because my experience was so bad. I had a small amount of gel left on my nails when I showed up. The lady that was helping me decided to use the electric tool, rather than manually filing. I thought this was no big deal at first, until she started filing away at my natural nail, and she also attempted to file away my cuticles, cutting me more than once! My nails looked HORRIBLE! I was cringing, and she just kept going. I asked her to cut the nails on my left hand since they were cut on the right, but she proceeded to minimally file instead, leaving some nails short, some long, some rounded, some square. She then proceeded to put the base coat of gel on so thick it was dripping. They also brought out a bowl of water for soaking initially, but they were rushing so intently that at no point did I even dip my hands in the water, so they were just painting over nail dust and some of the old polish they didn't thoroughly file away. As I mentioned earlier, I eventually just said to stop. I think they were also aware of their crappy service, as I was only asked to pay $15. I felt like an a-hole, but if there was ever a time a tip wasn't deserved, it's when every last one of my nails is a different length, different shape, and my skin is glued to the nail :( They had the nerve to hand me a business card on the way out, and quite honestly I only accepted it so that I could recall the name of the shop and write this review. STEER CLEAR, this place is horrible. Nice ladies, sure, but I've been to a lot of nail places and never had the urge to save anyone from one like I did this place... read more

My friend and I made an appointment in advance but they were clearly too busy to take us when we walked in today... all the chairs were filled and a new person had just walked in. We decided to leave. The people seemed nice and followed us out saying they would be done soon, but it was very obvious they would have been rotating between 5 different people making and ordinarily 1 hour appointment = a 2 hour appointment. Love it there! I went there long time ago but recently revisited. I was pleasantly surprised because they had renovated the salon. It looked cleaner and up-to-date. The ladies are soooo nice! The work is amazing. I kept having gel polish and three times in a row, my nails polish came off within days even though it was supposed to last at least 14 days. In the pas they lasted without chips for weeks. Anyway, they did my nails and it looked amazing and it has lasted beyond a week! Phewwe! If you don't want to wait MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! I just called 2 minutes ago and got a 4:30 (my request)for pedi and mani, no problem. I have waited over 45 minutes when I just walk in, but it is worth the wait... I also get my pedicures with Linda, she's great -I run a ton so my feet/toes need lots of attention. 1/19/13 - I have to knock this place down a star. My nails have already peeled (manicure). And I got an infection in my big toe from my pedicure and it hurts like crazy....service is great though....Just dont like the pain.... I dont know who I had who worked on me but she was great. I got a mani/pedi. I used to work nails so I'm very familiar w/the process. And I know how to speak Vietnamese...so I know when they are talking crap about people. When i was there, the girls were very nice and hospitable as soon as I cam in the door. They helped me sit down, got me magazines, and engaged in conversation. They didn't know I knew how to speak vietnamese bc I only spoke english to them. The did not talk about anythign except saying how much each person should be charged because "she got a design", "she got a full set w/design", etc. Three ladies walked in right before the best part of the pedicure which is the massage!!! My girl did not rush. She did a thorough job on painting and did a great design. My manicure was great.... the hand massage could have been longer but eh....who's complaining.... Overall, great experience....I would definitely go back there if I needed another mani/pedi. PS- kinda annoying but thank god 711 was next door because most nail shops allow you to charge the tip on your cc..... the girl ran my credit card so fast I didnt' have a chance to even tell her....They want 'cash' as a tip... it was annoying because running to the ATM after a manicure is NOT cool.... read more

I really don't get the complaints about the wait times at this place. I've been going to Pearl Nails for years and I've never had to wait, unless I've requested a certain manicurist (Lily). Duh people, do you honestly expect in this fast paced salon for your lady to sit around and wait for you to show up? Just chill out and wait 15 mins for her to finish her previous client and what do ya know? You're in the chair, getting your nails done! Jeez... K, where was I...oh, the wait. If you walk in, you wait no more than 10 mins max. The ladies do a consistently fantastic job every time, the prices are good and most importantly, the place is STERILE. Plus they are nice there. They chat if you want to chat and don't if you don't. If you want to be pampered and treated like a princess, go to a day spa. If you want a good mani or pedi, go to Pearl.
