We were craving steak something fierce so we decided to check this place out. When you walk in there's a narrow path with some tables lined up on the left that lead to a slightly larger back area with a TV. We were greeted by a a really nice guy that I believe was the cook. We ordered the 8 oz sirloin ($12.99 lunch special) and the fried fish. The food was ready in no time at all which was nice because we were starving. The portion sizes were huge for the price which again, was great. The steak was a bit thin but what I expected for an 8 oz lunch special steak; however, it was well seasoned. The rice, salad, and garlic bread were okay. The rice was your typical yellow rice, salad was a bit overdressed, and the garlic bread tasted like typical garlic bread, maybe a bit on the blander side. The highlight was the fried fish. We got 3 very large pieces that were cooked to perfection. All-in-all a very nice place to go for lunch or dinner. Wait staff is nice and food is worth the price. We would eat here again. read more

My daughter and I haven't been at this location in quite some time so we were very excited to eat there again we went 4/23/2019 , however I unfortunately found a piece of hair on my plate before eating, told them about it and manager seemed annoyed and bothered I was giving another plate and was told sorry, I asked for a refill he declined, the salad was wilted looked old and the service was disgusting, its a shame when you remember this place and go back and get a horrible experience....never will we ever go back again.....and the cook went outside on his break with his apron while smoking a cigarette while door was open and customers were eating. Unsanitary and unprofessional...he had his apron on and came back and didn't wash his hands...disgusting....health inspector needs to pay them a visit... read more

Burger Gem in Harlem On my quest for New York's best burgers, I founded Pee Dee's right on 125th street. Their menu is on the wall and they offer take out. Its a very casual place and their prices are very cheap! Their signature burger was amazing, I could barely finish my plate! This is a good place for a quick bite or lunch with some friends. Yes, 5 STARS.... Nice little sirloin, full of flavor and juicy, huge baked potato swimming in butter, a nice little salad and garlic bread...soaks up all the au jus. About 12 bucks. Great Place! Love the old guy that's behind the grill. He makes the best dishes. His BBQ chicken can't be beat. He makes the burgers perfectly and always checks to make sure he's making your food exactly the way you want it. Avoid the place when the other guy is cooking. He's arrogant and dumps salt in the food if he's in a bad mood. He's slick. Twice we've taken our food home after he's cooked it and had to throw it out. I've eaten at Pee Dee's twice, once at this location and the other time at the 110th st restaurant. It's not glamorous -- cafeteria style, come in, order your meat, they cook it in front of you, then the tray gets passed down the line and you add a salad and a starch. For the 1/4 chicken with baked potato/rice and salad/coleslaw, the price was $4.99. The rice was rice, the salad mostly iceberg, but the chicken -- really good! Sweet and tangy barbecue sauce, tender meat ... yum. Excellent lunch. A friend I was with ordered the steak sandwich and reported it to be quite good and reasonably priced, at around $5 if I recall correctly. As for the restaurant itself, it's reasonably clean, plenty of tables to sit at -- though as I said, no table service. I'm not sure this is worth making a special trip to Harlem, but if you're in the neighborhood, definitely check it out. read more

Saturday was my very first time at this establishment and all I can say is: FINGER LICKIN GOOD! The food was so hot that when I bit into it I could see the smoke! I was AMAZED. The food was ok, not spectacular, but adequate... with large portions. Had the worst experience here. My spouse and I spent more money than anticipated on food that was trash. We ordered fried sweet chili wings with a side of mac & cheese, HORRIBLE! The chicken was undercooked with dried blood still inside when I bit into it and the Mac & cheese tasted like Kraft out the box. When I asked for a refund on just the wings they told me they don't do refunds, but they would either make it over for me or make me something else. One of the cooks was very unprofessional and rude, making a comment saying "Just give her a rain check, I'm not makin anything else for her. She's picky with her food." Picky????
