We are traditional pizza people. There is a time and a place for artisan pizza but for legit pizza, this pizza is a must try for the TC area. There was a smoky flavor. Idk if it was the sauce, the bacon or the cheese but it had something extra to boost the flavor. I'd go back in a heartbeat. The order was ready when promised. Just moved to Traverse City and we're exploring the local cuisine. One of our group is a chef who is very particular. After dinner tonight we decided that Peegeos is our favorite restaurant in Traverse City! We had hot wings, a personal pizza, a sub sandwich and the pot roast. Everything was delicious. The food came out hot and quickly, especially since it was really busy. The service was polite, personable, knowledgeable and professional. The prices are great and the portions are huge. What were the strange beans inside it? The pasta was actually angel hair not spaghetti. The garlic bread was a let down. Not hard to cut a fresh piece of baguette and put garlic butter on it. Excellent service by Angie. She was friendly, helpful and there when we needed her. Wings were crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. So yummy. We had the charbroiled and Asian. Both very flavorful with just the right amount of spice. If you like wings m, this is the place. Hubs liked the Big Dipper and my pizza sub was very tasty. Just needed a bit more sauce which Angle quickly provided. Generous amount of meat on both and the buns were nice and crusty on the outside and soft in the middle. Update 2021. I used to get Peegeos weekly for years. Sadly the quality of food and service has declined rapidly in the past 2 years. They're consistently out of everyday staples (no potato skins, no Jalapeño poppers) and it can't all be Covid, It's potatoes. No delivery which is whatever but c'mon. We go to Peegeos once a week as it's one our favorites. last night there was no wait and everyone around us was getting there dinner. About 45 minutes later we ask and we are told there are two kitchens that cook and the one doing regular food is behind. Mm well people that sat down 20 min after us are getting their food. We asked for the bill for our couple drinks left a 40% tip as I'm not waiting for change and went home and made dinner at 7:30. I haven't been here in 20 yrs. We had the wings which were fantastic. I ordered a 2 topping pizza. Extra cheese did pepperoni. That too was fantastic. The waitress was very nice and kept our drinks filled as well. The only thing that was not so good and had nothing to do with the restaurant itself was an older man refuse to wear a mask as he was waiting on a to go order. He then had the balls to question why we weren't wearing one. Well, since you need to be schooled here, WE WERE EATING. Front and center in this are the charred chicken wings. These are not your typical sauce drenched wings found in other establishments, rather they are dry seasoned and cooked on the grill providing a unique spin that you'll come to love from your first bite. Trust me, amidst the large variety of other options (all good, too - especially the pizzas), place at least one order for these wings. You and your group will thank you for it! This might be the greatest restaurant known to mankind. If I was on death row, my last meal would be Peegeos 20 charbroiled wings with their ranch dressing. The pizza is good, appetizers are hearty, but the wings are mouthwatering. They have a good draft list with a couple of their own beers. I cannot say enough about the atmosphere and being treated like family the second you walk in the door. It wasn't just the host staff, the servers, the owner but the customers that even go there. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, helpful and just simply wonderful. It was beyond packed tonight, but it was fun as we waited for a table, with their free popcorn or tootsie rolls and all of he conversation as we socialized with locals and staff. The owner George was on the floor tonight to ensure every guest left with a top level service! He socialized with each table as he truly cares about each one. He engaged with our kids and made our little girl feel like the most important 5 year old ever with the most personable Happy Birthday song! The entire restaurant joined in singing happy birthday including her name in the song! Her face lit up like the 4th of July! How wonderful for a 5 year to feel so special! The Nachos have such great flavor, honestly for simple nachos they were the best I have had!
