Non-fat iced mocha & hot coffee black with a shot of amaretto
Ida H.

When in Elk Grove, my boyfriend and I often stop at one of two Peet's Coffee Shops in the area. Treating ourselves to a relaxing cup of coffee, flavored blend or seasonal specialty.  This spot is located in a busy and popular strip mall.  So when we find ourselves shopping at it's neighbors, a quick pick me up is easily accessible and within walking distance from the other stores. There is plenty of parking spaces, but it's not always an easy process due to having to share with other businesses.   This coffee shop is usually busy, but the baristas have the art of making coffee down to a science.  Taking your order and creating that perfect cup every time.  I usually get my non-fat iced mocha, while Joe K likes hot coffee black with a shot of amaretto. We always experience friendly, professional and efficient customer service.  A nice, clean store with indoor or outdoor patio dining.  The stage is set to sit back and de-stress if only for a few minutes!     FYI: When you buy a pound of coffee, you get a cup of free hot coffee along with it!

Having worked for Raley's for over 30 years, I have seen Raley's grow as a company In so many ways. For instance in their coffee cafe's . For many years Sacramento based Java City Coffee Company serviced their cafes. With time you will always find change ! As a business if you don't change with the times, you will lose market share and possibly go out of business. That is why they have partnered with Peet's Coffee Co. to service and train Raley's employees in their cafe. Employees are trained to make all the different drinks that Peets has to offer. From mochas to Coffee & Tea, Espresso Beverage, Latte, and their seasonal favorites like their "Peppermint Mocha. Eggnog Latte, and Salted Caramel Macchiato ! This particular Peet's offer free Wi-Fi for their customers. They have a fairly large flat screen in the cafe with plenty of tables and chair indoors as well as outdoors. Bike parking is also available outside. They carry a combination of Peet's and Raley's desserts in their display case in the cafe. Trying to accommodate early commuters going to work, Peet's is now open at 5 am in the morning! I personally enjoy coming here after the store opens up which is 6am in the morning. I can get my coffee plus have access to all the other departments in the store. I can go to the bakery department for that special donut or to their deli department for a scrumptious breakfast burrito! Peet's Coffee in a Raleys Store, A perfect combination like peanut butter and jelly! ! I usually find the lines fairly short, very friendly employees, and plenty of parking. A perfect place to hang out doing your homework or just relaxing after a long day at work ! A solid 3 stars in my book!

Typically, Peet's isn't my first choice for a coffee stop. However, today I was shopping at Raleys so I wanted to grab a drink to accompany my grocery shopping trip. They have a nice selection of baked goods at the front counter. I've tried their ginger snap cookie before - soft and chewy, so good! And I am normally not a fan of ginger in my baked goods! I would like to try their other cookies and scones in the future. The lady behind the counter was very nice and didn't rush me to make my order. However she did look a bit confused while she was making my drink - a small vanilla green tea latte. The entire cup was full of ice...a huge pet peeve of mine! I noticed all of the mainstream coffee shops do this with their iced drinks :( The one thing I appreciated - they mix the matcha tea powder thoroughly! Everytime I order it at Starbucks, I'm left with a cup of milk and chunky tea powder. However at Peet's, they mix it in the blender, which unfortunately caused it to become foamy. I basically drank a cup (of ice) and green tea foam. I would recommend them using a shaker or a good ol fashioned spoon! I guess for now I'll have to choose my battles: foamy and creamy at Peet's, or chunky and powdery at Starbucks. This location probably won't be my go-to spot for coffee, but its location inside Raley's is very convenient for when I want to make one stop instead of two!

Supposed to be black tie. Fail.

On a sunny day like today, I was glad there was plenty of shaded areas to sit while watching my kid play inside the gated park. I had a vanilla latte with oat milk and almond croissant. Parking was confusing, didn't realize it was in a church and there wasn't really obvious signage from the parking lot that you're in the right spot. I had to look at the other review pictures to be like okay, I am here. Interior is cute and modern, but lacking that lived in feel I prefer for coffee shops. Service was quick. The coffee itself seems to lean towards biblical (lol?) food items. Think olive oil, dates, tahini, honey. I got the Tahini Einspanner because how fun, I can get some tastes of tahini and date but the whip and syrup didn't mix well into the drink despite me aggressively trying so it just lasted like a $7 plain latte. I almost had to bite the whip because it was so thick. Seems like they're using quality ingredients so the intention is there, the executions needs some refinement.

Also I mentioned it in my pictures they have these cute trinkets and displays along the counter that are just fabulous. It definitely brings a sense of childlike whimsy that made me have a big old smile. For the service, I was greeted warmly when I approached the cash register and I had a few questions regarding some of the teas. The individual behind the register answered them very thoroughly and gave me a recommendation which I took. I got a Okinawa milk tea and then adjusted the sugar and added some boba to it. In addition there was these little trinkets that we're near the cash register that I decided to buy. It was a mystery pack situation and I am a big fan of doing those cuz I like a nice little surprise. The tea I got was well done. And I say that because I'm an individual that really likes to taste my tea when I get boba style drinks. So this definitely had the taste of the tea that I wanted and the sweetness level which was 30% was just right to enhance the flavors. I stayed there for about an hour just hanging out there were a few other individuals that came in and took orders to go and maybe two other tables that were seated while I was there. It does look like a lot of mobile orders come through and the local high school kids were going through there quite a bit. So if you're in the area give it a try and maybe even get a little mystery prize while you're there.

Always a HUGE plus. cute, clean and asthetic decor inside - such warm and calm vibes there's a kiosk to order your drinks. From my experience, although I ordered from a kiosk... the workers still took the time to chat with me and my husband as we walked in, while we waited, and after they were finished with our drinks. Staff is friendly here even while they are busy perfecting our drinks drinks aren't too sweet which i love! I've tried their strawberry matcha and its one of the best I've had. Not too sweet and not too bitter! I also tried their jazzy limeade! Its a unique and refreshing tea perfect for the summer. If you get this drink.. be aware it may seem bitter to people because of its unique flavoring profiles. Get it 75% sweetness and once your ice melts a bit .. the drink is super tasty, unique and refreshing!! they also serve sweet taiyako with unique filling flavors! Idk how they do it but it always comes out super crispy. I've tried these at other dessert spots and always get really soggy or soft taiyakis so I was so shocked how crispy and fresh these were. They do make it on the spot in front of you so maybe that's why?! Or their batter is just high quality. Whatever it is.. im not complaining! This has been my new go to boba spots in Elk Grove! I highly recommend if you're looking for a place to hangout/catch up with friends, get some work done, or just need a yummy treat.

Unfortunately, this one just didn't quite hit the mark for either of us. The matcha flavor was very mild and almost tasted watered down. We both found ourselves wishing for more of that earthy matcha flavor to come through. The strawberry portion also wasn't what we were expecting. I tend to prefer drinks made with fresh or macerated strawberries, and this tasted more like a strawberry jam or puree. If that's your thing, you may enjoy it, but for me it just wasn't my jam. Literally. My friend and I also shared a chicken sandwich. It was okay, but nothing really stood out about it. I found myself wondering what type of chicken was used because the texture wasn't what I expected. It almost reminded me of either canned chicken or shredded rotisserie chicken, but I wasn't entirely sure. The café itself was pleasant enough, and there wasn't anything specifically wrong with the experience. We just both walked away feeling a little underwhelmed overall. Helpful tip: If you're a big matcha fan and prefer a stronger matcha flavor, you may want to ask if they can make it with an extra scoop. Unfortunately, neither the drinks nor the food really wowed us, and with so many great tea and matcha spots around Elk Grove, I'm not sure this would be one we'd rush back to.

We recently stopped by Cafe La Vies and ended up having such a fun experience…read more I ordered the banana matcha, which was absolutely delicious. The banana flavor paired surprisingly well with the matcha and made for a really refreshing drink. It was one of those drinks that I immediately knew I'd order again. But honestly, the highlight wasn't even the drink itself. It was the adorable little elephant vessel it came with. They put dry ice inside and then pour water into it, making it look like the elephant is blowing smoke out of its trunk. My daughter was completely mesmerized. Watching her reaction was worth the visit all by itself. What I loved most was that it wasn't just a gimmick. The drink was actually good, and the elephant made such a cute keepsake afterward. It felt like getting both a treat and a souvenir. The café itself had a fun atmosphere, and it was one of those places that felt a little different from your typical coffee or tea stop. Helpful tip: If it's your first visit, order one of the drinks served in the elephant. The presentation alone is worth it, especially if you're visiting with kids. Between the banana matcha and my daughter's excitement over the smoking elephant, this ended up being one of those unexpectedly memorable stops we'll be talking about for a while.

I walk up to the counter and asked for the Mango Sticky Rice and the guy who helped me, idk what his name is had an attitude and was like we're out of it. I'm thinking to myself, sooo if you KNOW you're of something that's popular and on the menu, maybe you should put a sign somewhere stating that it's currently NOT AVAILABLE. Then I had to call back home to let my siblings know that the initial drink they wanted was not available, so they can choose something else and again the guy taking the order wad annoyed. My siblings decided upon the Mangonada with brown sugar boba and the iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. I had to call my siblings again to let them know and ask if they wanted crystal boba as a replacement. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.
