I asked for a matcha soy latte, no foam and made 200 degrees hot. Firstly, the lady says she couldnt make that drink ( im thinking why not when they have matcha powder and soy milk??). Secondly, i asked for no foam, but there happened to be an inch worth of foam. Lastly, i asked 200 degrees hot and my latte was luke warm that my matcha powder chunked up instead of mixed well into the soy. The quality of Peet's coffee is always better than that of Starbucks', and this Peet's is no exception .The flavors are always rich and vibrant, and the staff are always willing and able to make a great recommendation. Most Peet's I don't like to hang out in because they feel noisy and busy, but this one has a great outdoor seating area and a more relaxed atmosphere than most Peet's offer. The thing that really sets this Peets apart is the staff. They always remember you, and welcome you in with a genuine smile, and they make your drinks to perfection. If there's ever an issue, they'll remake your drink no questions asked. The barista Bobby is always great, and will keep you entertained with his wacky sense of humor while you wait for your drink. This is a pretty decent location for Peet's. It isn't ever that busy, probably due to it being tucked back in a corner of a shopping center. Parking is sometimes hard to come by unless you park on the opposite side of the lot. It's got a lot of foot traffic and is adjacent to a Trader Joe's and a Pet Food Express. Anyone else find Peet's consistently inconsistent. I've been a loyal customer since they were in Berkeley. Nine times out of 10, I'm disappointed. They used to be so good back in the day. My go to coffee place. Even the drip coffee doesn't taste as bold and delicious as it used to. Very poor customer service, the baristas seem very unenthusiastic about their job. It's very off putting. I've requested a cold brew, a very common drink, several times and almost each time they have had to make it in the spot or said they were out. This location is only five minutes for me, but I drive to the Peetes on ygnacio, which is farther, because I feel like they make better coffee and have a far more pleasant staff. read more

I enjoy their coffee so much that I drink it black (no cream or sugar). I was happy when they opened this location up since its close to where I live and its right by trader joe's so I can grab some coffee and then get some food. The employees are generous and always let you know the type coffee that they're brewing (house, sumatra, etc.) I also thought it was nice of them on Xmas eve that they were giving out free coffee and asked in return donations for a non-for-profit cause. It's a cool place... TOO cool! Doesn't it drive you nuts when places are paying lots of bucks (and burning lots of fuel) to make people wear jackets on perfectly nice days?!? This landlord (or this store manager) keep the store in the low sixties (to make you buy more warm coffee??) For generic coffee chains like Peet's and Starbucks, the one positive thing that really ever stands out for me is the customer service. This Peet's coffee's drinks taste like all other Peet's, but the customer service was superb! My order was taken by a girl named Lauren, who seemed genuinely friendly. This particular location is clean, nicely appointed and the coffee is good (except on Saturdays when they have Garuda in the espresso hopper, then - blech!). However, the last several times I've come in, the wait time to order and to get the drinks has been too long, and the staff has been especially distracted with socializing with patrons and each other. I can see a long wait if they are really hustling, but when they are acting like they are there as a patron to relax and chit chat, that makes me feel ike my time isn't very important to them. I have to admit I haven't been to too many coffee shops as I am not a big coffee drinker, but I am a HUGE fan of this particular Peet's Coffee and Tea shop because not only do they offer the peppermint hot chocolate drink with soy milk, as I have become lactose intolerant with increasing age, but they have EXCELLENT customer service as you'll get service with smiles/jokes/friendliness - the drink preparers also are artsy with their drinks as when they prepare my drink (as this is the only thing I order from Peet's, I admit, but it's impressive because...) they swirl the drink so well that although the liquid fills to the very brim of the cup, there is no spillage as you see the milk swirl into the mix like a snail's shell. Very pretty (if you are amazed at such things like I am) =X To give more of a concrete review though, I went to a Peet's Coffee and Tea shop in Stanford and not only was my order wrong, but the hot chocolate they gave me did not taste very good (in my opinion) as it was bitter and at the same time somewhat bland. The service at the Stanford Peet's was also not very personable/friendly or impressive. Walnut Creek's (Oak Grove Rd) Peet's peppermint hot chocolate drink with soy milk is VERY tasty and refreshing on a chilly day or night... and we've been having quite a lot of chilly days/nights nowadays ;) I have never tried their coffee, but my coworker and I come here very often on our work breaks and she is just as happy as I am with their service and the tastiness of her drink. If you are in the Walnut Creek area and are craving Peet's... I HIGHLY recommend this one in particular ;) Enjoy! read more

If you know Peet's, you know the coffee, americano's are rich with flavor and tasty, what impressed me was their customer service! The cashier who helped us out had spike like gauges and was polite and helpful, normal nice service at a PM shift. Then my mom and I returned the next morning to grab some coffees for the house and the same friendly face was working and he remembered my mom's name! Not only that but he was super playful in giving her a high five, just feeding his energy put her in a really great mood and myself. He ended up wishing us a good day and made my mom feel special and welcome even with only a few encounters. That's my story and they rock! read more

Dark chocolate raspberry freddo, why must I love you so? Been here quite a few times because Peet's in Todos Santos has never been an experience worthy of my five bucks. Just like everywhere else, I get asked if I know the freddo is cold and blended with condescending hand movements. Although today I didn't get asked which made me realize I don't like it even more when its not confirmed. Regardless, the lady with the permanent scowl and red hair didn't even place my order correctly. First issue I've ever had here, and though it was miniscule I am very biased with coffee shops because I've been a barista for four years and I now work for a very luxurious espresso company so I always compare our standards with other chains. I also pretend to be a mystery shopper [in my head] and find what steps they've missed, etc. So I get my freddo and go to the condiment bar. It was a mess, completely under stocked and there were three workers not doing anything who very easily could have tended to it. The freddo didn't taste bad at all, it just doesn't taste right. I have the bf take a sip and he says its just chocolate and the syrup on top is chocolate not raspberry. [I had my sunglasses on so I didn't notice.] I go up to the counter and inform a male worker that my order was wrong. He immediately looked over to the register like he knew who did it, looked annoyed, and apologized while beginning to remake it. There was also another girl who had a mistaken order behind me. I think she was waiting for an opportunity to mention her drink was wrong but I walked right up and caught the guys eye, so I'm sorry for cutting you off miss lady. I still prefer this Peet's and I'll return for my annoying dark chocolate raspberry freddo addiction. My boss would die if he knew I paid for and enjoyed this over roasted-ness. read more

Meh. The bacon and cheddar breakfast sandwich had the appearance and chewy texture of something that came out of McDonald's. Definitely not worth the price. Also, they sell yogurt...but don't have spoons. The barista said, "we can't order them." I don't understand, but whatever. Now I can't eat the yogurt I bought to fill me up after this tiny sandwich. I order a (complicated order) triple shot vanilla breve latte, with 6 pumps of vanilla stirred in and extra foam on top (after everything has been stirred add foam) and this location makes my drink perfectly every single time I come in and it doesn't even matter who makes it. Some of the other locations in the area seem to have a very hard time with this, but not this location! They have it down pat! I will literally drive out of my way to come here to get the perfect cup of coffee. It's my little piece of heaven in the morning. Thank you Peet's for making my mornings blissful! :) read more

I usually go to Starbucks, only because it's more convenient, since they have on every corner. Of course, they're huge and hated for that, whereas Peet's was local to the SFBA. My kid's tutor wanted to meet here, since the library is closed this weekend and tomorrow. No problem. So, I thought I'd go inside and get some more caffeine to try and squash my headaches. Four stars for the quick and friendly service, not always experienced at Sbux. They're too busy and cater to robots who go everyday and know the system. Took one star off because the Internet connection didn't even show up until I'd checked to see they even offered WiFi. I thought perhaps other WiFi's were possibly Peet's, until "Peets" came up. But, it connected fairly well...better than the public library! The downgrade is also due to the fact, that Peet's coffee is just TOO DAMNED HOT to drink, even after cooling it down with milk! Sbux isn't too much better, but they're not as extreme. No one wants cold coffee, but it's been at least ten minutes and I can still barely drink the lava hot cup of steaming joe! Yes, the lid is off! One would think Peet's would know the optimum temp of brewing and serving coffee and close to boiling point is over the top. Mind you, this is all Peet's, not just this location. Still , I can't really complain too much. The little quiche isn't bad, especially since it's made with Quinoa and not very flavor able. Nothing beats fresh ground beans of my choice, such as from Mexico or Ethiopia and brewed at home, with my choice of any additions. Love my Breville! It's also much more AFFORDABLE! read more

I love this place! I'm typically a Peets fan, but this location takes the cake. I'm not sure about baristas or quality of non fat sugar free vanilla lattes because I'm a coffee or tea kind of guy. The service is on par with pretty much every other location I've been to. This one has a sweet side patio area with this lush rock garden with a nice Japanese Maple tree that has a cool and warming zen type of feel. This is my hood, so I can walk here.
