In the last few weeks this Peet's location offered new app users 5 free drinks and I surely took this opportunity to find my go-to drink. I was hesitant at first, because I tried one of their coffee Javivas back when they first opened and wasn't happy with the flavor. It also made my stomach turn. I'm not sure if it was the milk they used, but I stayed away for awhile. Since then, I've tried their Wildberry Hibiscus Tea Fog, an Iced White Chocolate Mocha, their Chai Tea Javiva, their Caramel Javiva and the Iced Green Tea Tropical. Sadly, I haven't found a drink I really enjoy. The Wildberry Hibiscus Tea Fog tasted like Robitussin cough medicine. The iced white mocha was overbearing in espresso. It wasn't very sweet and tasted like they put several shots of espresso in a small. I felt sick after drinking it. Their Chai Tea Javiva was overwhelming. The flavor was strong and after several sips it tasted like hand soap. Lol, their Caramel Javiva wasn't so great either. I enjoyed the blended texture but it was overbearingly sweet. Of all the five drinks, the green tea tropical was my favorite. However, it wasn't very sweet even after I asked for it to be sweetened. The tea was very bland. Compared to their competitors, like Starbucks and Dutch Bros, I would say Peet's is at the bottom of the barrel. Their drinks aren't anything special and the taste levels are way off. They also don't offer lots of options, which is kinda disappointing. I've cut down my coffee in take so I like to enjoy teas, smoothies and other blended drinks. Unfortunately, they don't have any fruity smoothies or blended drinks like Starbucks. Thank goodness these drinks were free, because I'd be really upset to pay $5+ for a below average beverage. I don't know why it took me so long to try Peet's Coffee. But I'm glad that I did. I was greeted right when I entered. The menu was very easy to read. The staff were very helpful. There are chairs & tables inside and outside. Free WiFi is available. This would be a great place to study for me. The drink itself was good. I tried the Honey Black Tea Fog. I don't know what "fog" is exactly, but it seemed to have a foamy texture. I liked it. I like the overall vibe here, it's very chill. It doesn't get too loud like some Starbucks or other coffee places can get. I was surprised with the amount of food choices here too, I didn't get to try them, but next time for sure I will. Overall the service & friendliness of the staff is what gives it a 5 star rating for me. When I come back I want to try the matcha green tea javiva blended. read more

The Barista was so nice and helped me figure out my error and assured me she would get my order ready anyway. I made it to my appointment on time and am so grateful of her kindness. She went above and beyond helping me with my error. She didn't even have to think or ponder how to help me. She was genuinely understanding. This Peet's location was having a deal through their app that allows you to get 5 free drinks, and to be honest, since I've never been to Peet's before, this was the perfect opportunity to give it a try! I tried the Large Caramel Macchiato (~$6), Large Light Chocolate & Caramel Swirl Javiva (~$6), Large Light Matcha Green Tea Javiva (~$6), and Large Honey Black Iced Tea Fog (~$5). All of them were great tries, but my favorite had to be the Javiva! It was cold, refreshing, sweet, and gave me that caffeine kick I needed. I would come back for that one. My one complaint is that I was supposed to have 5 free drinks plus one for my first ever check-in through the app, but I was only able to redeem 4 drinks. For some reason, the coupon that was previously there was removed without me even using it. I'm not sure where the issue is but it was disappointing because 5 drinks was advertised and I did not receive the 5. Overall, I did enjoy Peet's and since it is so close and convenient, I would consider coming back. However, the glitchiness with the app was a bit shady and disappointing to me. read more

I'm not a coffee drinker but I had the opportunity to go into Peet's Coffee in the Elk Grove Nugget Market Shop at Elk Grove Blvd and Bruceville Rd. I was there with my Mom in the Saturday, November 24th, 2018. We went to Peet's to get coffee for my mom. I also purchased a bag of nuts, dates, cranberries and chocolates (or a similar combination). The woman who greeted us, took our order and provided us the items had superb customer service. I've been back once since then and purchased a muffin or pastry. I'll go back for a hot chocolate in the near future. I love the variety of beverages. The location is ideal and walking distance from my home or there's plenty of parking in front or adjacent to the business. The bathrooms are super clean, gender neutral and the sink/wash station us located outside and between the two bathrooms, also really clean. The business was immaculately clean, neat, organized even the sugar, sweetener, creamer area. There is ample seating in the restaurant. This place is nothing like Starbucks which is awesome. read more

Peet's Coffee in general has great coffee selections. My latest go to is the VANILLA CARDAMOM LATTE it's great hot or iced. The layout of this location is nice, it's spread out and has a patio. Since I'm always searching for a good coffee shop to study I feel as if the tables are a tad bit small if you are meeting up with a group of people to get some work done. However there is a good amount of seating. During the mornings like every coffee shop there are a ton of people, lines and limited seating. However there is always a ton of parking. I was in need of a large cup of coffee after a very early morning, and I finally got around to stopping by this new Peet's location. I had seen the new digs from driving past on Elk Grove Blvd. multiple times and always admired the modern décor from the outside. When I walked in, I was immediately surprised at how crowded it was - almost every table was occupied and there was a line of about 5 people to order. The line moved quickly and the employee that took my order was friendly and patient with me. I ordered a hot large vanilla latte with soy, paid, and stepped off to the side to wait for my drink. My latte was ready pretty soon, and I appreciated the nice latte art, which I don't usually find at chain coffee locations. I took a sip and immediately fell in love with it - a nice subtle vanilla to offset the espresso. Despite the fact that I took my drink to-go while running some errands, I could definitely see myself hanging out in this location to get some work done, catching up with a friend, or reading a book. I used to love going to this place every week but the customer service is horrible now. I went there on Friday 26th around 8:30 in the morning and the cashier was busy chatting with her friends. When she finally started to take my order, I had to keep repeating my order because she was still busy talking to her male friend. She even had her drink nxt to her which she kept taking sips of every now and then....how unprofessional!!. I even told her I wanted to use my balance in my account but she didn't even pay attention to it. While waiting for my food and drink, I noticed the whole time she was laughing and talking to her friend while taking orders at the same time and taking sips of her coffee. Clean lines, an open interior and shiny new coffee equipment are 3 aesthetic highlights of this new location and then the usual factors of any Peet's (friendly customer service and quick orders) are added in, combining to make the experience a good one! The line was long when I walked in after work, probably because Peet's had emailed its rewards members for a complimentary 1/2 lb bag of house coffee. I received my bag, which smelled great, and the option to not only have it ground but have it ground specifically to what type of coffee machine or filter you use was kind of impressive. I wanted to try a drink so I ordered a matcha Javiva blended drink, which was good, and the barista apologized for the wait, which was a nice touch, even tho I didn't need an apology since it was opening day. Although I'm not a big coffee drinker...I decided to give it a try. Ordered a small soy white mocha (hot) for both me and the bf. The barista girl who prepped it made a little art design in the front...so pretty. The tricky part was...having to carry it over to the other station for lids, napkins, stoppers etc. Not sure if that's how Peet's works? Anyways, I should have left the drink there and grabbed the lid but since I was new to the place, no clue. I had the cutest experience. At the expense of the sweet barista. Their grand opening was actually on my Birthday, but I decided not to make the trek out for the festivities. But fast forward about two and half weeks and I was near, so I stopped in for a quick iced coffee. There was a table outside with some sticker swag and you could hear the music from the parking lot. When you walked in, it was bright, vibrant, and a party. They had a DJ and balloons all over the bar. I even asked my barista what it was all about, she just said it was to celebrate the day, just an ordinary Saturday! While I know my iced coffee will be delicious, I don't think we need to discuss this. But rather highlight as I was finishing my transaction, a woman came up recording/taking a photo. Not of me per se, but of the Barista. Immediately, she became embarrassed and told her Mom to stop. I thought it was the cutest thing ever. I told her, don't be embarrassed. That she should be happy her Mom is so loving and thoughtful to come see her at work. I told her she was a lucky girl to have such a fun Mom and smiled at her. I don't think she believed me, but years down the road I know she will and she'll smile at that moment. I loved how Pinterest their bean menu was, despite being on the wall near the coffee machines and not behind the Baristas. Overall, you can tell it's a regular Peet's, but its super cute and with ample parking, which is important for a big box coffee shop. So when I got the email with my scan code, I put the baby in the car and hit the road! This location is bigger than most other Peets I've been to. Being that they just opened, it's extremely neat and clean. It's inside the nugget plaza and easy to spot. I was able to chat with the girl at the register and she was very nice and helpful. She asked me how I'd like my beans and I told her I have a keurig machine at home. She knew exactly how to grind them for me. About 30 seconds later, my bag was ready to pick up. I ordered a small iced matcha latte, Andrew took my order and was really friendly. Kaylie made my order which tasted amazing! I've only been here a few times but this has already been one of my favorite stops for tea! I don't drink coffee so i'm not sure what's good here, but I really enjoy the hibiscus tea! It's not too sweet but still has a good amount of flavor. Each time I come here, almost all the tables are filled with people on their laptops or writing in notebooks while enjoying a cup of peet's. I was really excited for a peet's to open up closer to my side of town. In the past I'd go across town to the location on laguna. However, I am deeply disappointed with the attitude & service of the employees at this new location. I have been visiting this peet's for months now, since it is closest to me, but sadly I am considering making the drive to the laguna peet's instead because of how awful the service is. Each time I go to the new peet's, I am met with unhappy/disinterested/impatient/condescending attitudes from the employees. And mind you, I am not a "problem" customer. I've never asked to have a drink remade or complained & i typically make the effort to greet the person at the register with a hello & a smile & a "how are you doing?" But every single time the workers are very standoffish or just seem like they don't care. For how good the coffee is & how nicely designed this location is, the service completely changes the atmosphere of the place & it is very unpleasant. I am a huge fan of coffee shops that aspire to make a welcoming & friendly atmosphere. I love places that greet you when you walk in, begin to remember your name if you're a regular, do their best to make small talk & simply make you feel like you are welcome. I was so excited about a Peet's being closer to me! I received the offer in the mail like most. The coupon allows one scanned free drink and 5 free drinks with the Peetniks Rewards app. with check in and code.(it expires April 19th)My first visit the barista took my coupon scanned it and crumpled it. I explained I still needed it to enter the code for my 5 free coffees. She said "No this expired March 31st." I replied "I received that one too, but this one expires April 19th. " she said "oh ok." I was like well she didn't know no big deal. The nicest barista was the one making and serving the drinks by the counter. My second visit was today, my boys had a long appointment this morning and I wanted to treat them to a chocolate milk(one has a dairy allergy so I was able to get his there) for free and myself to a coffee for free with my Peetniks Rewards App. I had entered laguna when I first checked in but they never showed up. Same barista as the first time I checked in was there. I explained to her it wasn't popping up. Then my phone died right in front of her . She entered my information and could see my first check in for my free drink but not the 5. Her supervisor told her to give me one for free. And then told me I need to call and get it fixed. My father was a retail manager for years, this is not how you do business. I brought the same crumpled coupon with the code to the same barista who crumpled my coupon didn't even recognize me or my two little guys from before. You can see that I checked in but never used the 5 because they don't even show up. I hate that we are more about using a damn app system rather than customer service! I don't normally hop on the freebie train, but it's Peet's ! We have been going to the Peet's on Laguna for years. We have been taking my oldest son since he was 4 because we love taking bike rides to that area, and letting our boys play at the park nearby. Our ritual is to stop by Peet's on Laguna for a cookie, coffee's and chocolate milks at least twice a month if not more. I was never a Peetniks Rewards member until I found out we had a Peet's that was closer. I will remain a Peetniks Rewards member but I will no longer go to this one. The customer service at Peet's on Laguna Blvd. is Phenomenal ! They always greet us with smiles and are patient with our order while our children decide which cookie they want to try next !
