Great Peet's location. This was my first time here. I had my usual large iced coffee, nothing complicated. It can get pretty busy on a weekends. Every table/seat inside and outside were taken. I sat on the bench to the side of Peet's, as it was such a nice day to be outside. The Baristas are friendly and poured my drink as soon as it was ordered, which is always good. I've had to wait at some locations for them to simply pour the coffee into the cup. Downside to this place is that it only has ONE bathroom. I had to wait for what felt like forever. Parking on the street can be difficult to secure. Larchmont is a fairly busy area. read more

Came in around 10 a.m. today to get a Havana Cappuccino and the Barista attempted to catch an attitude because we asked him to remake the cappuccinos because they tasted like straight coffee with coffee-mate creamer. After two failed remakes and dealing with the server's unnecessary attitude, we just left. Please train your staff on how to make drinks better. There should be no reason customers are met with attitude because your servers can't make drinks properly. read more

3.5 stars. It was pretty packed inside. Every seat was full. I just got really lucky because someone was leaving the big desk/table as soon as I got there. There were a good amount of outlets to plug in your laptop but only if you're near the wall. I had an Iced Coffee which was pretty good, nothing special. I also tried a vegan oatmeal raisin cookie (even though I'm not vegan!) which was actually really yummy, thin and chewy. I looove chewy cookies. AND the barista guy was so nice! He gave me TWO cookies for the price of one just because! For no reason! :D And yes, they do have free wifi but it's LIMITED! When I got the password and logged on, it said I had a 1 HOUR time limit! :( But then somehow it didn't kick me off until 2 hours later! Yay! But still.. I decided to pick up my coffee beans here after a farmers market trip. The staff wasn't as friendly as I expected like other Peet's locations. With a complimentary cup of small coffee with my half pound Garuda Blend purchase, I chose an iced coffee, which was refreshing on a hot day. For some reason, the total was $9 instead of $8.50 as listed on the menu, which I didn't realize until after I paid. I was not offered a receipt like other coffee spots. I didn't have time to clarify the $0.50 difference with a line forming quickly with one cashier. Although it's bigger than the one on 3rd and Fairfax, I'll stick to that location for better service. read more

This is a nice cozy one. Service is friendly and fast. They had a bunch of seasonal options (pumpkin lattes, etc). I got the chai tea latte, which was really good! When I was there, they also had this tray of pumpkin bread and their fall coffee blend, which were both absolutely delicious. They have about a dozen tables inside and some limited outdoor seating. I love this area because it's full of cute little shops and restaurants. This is not the only coffee shop in the area, but it's one of the better ones. read more

This location and Peet's does care about its customers and reputation. This is such a cute and peaceful location that it would be a shame for anyone not to get the best customer service along with the best cup of coffee served. It's hard finding a quiet place in Los Angeles. This location is a gem in this busy city. Come in and relax. Since my last unpleasant experience I have noticed that the employees here have been better about greeting and making recommendations. I didn't order any coffee here when my friends wanted to come here for coffee. It was way too late for me to have that much caffeine. The coffee was just ok then one of my friends is very picky how her coffee taste saying her green tea latte wasn't very good. Maybe try the mayan mocha when it smelled and looked good. The parking here in Larchmont Street may be a little difficult during busy hours. There is only metered parking or else you need to find parking on the side streets watching for signs that you can't park. If you want to explore this area you will do a lot of walking too. read more

Great service! I ordered a pumpkin frappacino (that's the starbucks term, I forgot what Peet's called their ice blended drinks) and it tasted NOTHING like the flavors I was expecting. It was early in the morning and pretty busy but I went up to the barista to tell them if I could exchange my drink. With no attitude, the barista genuinely apologized and immediately asked for what drink I would like. Even though it was extremely busy and the line almost reached the door, I was surprised that I got my second drink as fast as I did. Also, no flavor problems! Good strong coffee (especially the bold roast) and a lot better tasting than Starbucks! My second drink was an iced mocha and it was sweet but paired well with the strength of the coffee. There's not too many tables but people are constantly on go that finding a spot to sit won't be too difficult. Larchmont is a great place to hang out so if your looking for your coffee fix this place is definitely worth the stop! read more

I tried the caramel macchiato and they honored the Yelp check-in discount which made me happy, since some establishments seem to not do so. Tasty coffee and friendly baristas. I did some work for about 3 hours. The wifi is free. There's not that much seating inside, about 5 tables and a counter. There's also about 3 tables outside if you like being distracted by all the Larchmont dog walkers. But all in all a good atmosphere to focus. read more

Peet's is will always be the BEST coffee chain and Starbucks can suck it. But this location in particular has my heart. The service, mood, and energy is ALWAYS ON POINT. My order is annoying and remotely difficult and the loving baristas here, all of them, are always so patient and friendly. I work down the street at Vernetti and love coming in here. I feel like this street really has a very special warmth and magic to it that is hard pressed to find in LA. But when I come to Peet's I feel like I always see people that seem like locals, like this is their spot and no matter how many trendy or other corporate spots come in, that they will be Peet's people. I love that. I work brunch shifts super early in the morning and sometimes right before we open I try to get my co-worker to go down the block to get coffee with me. We always go to Peet's first and they ALWAYS have the longest lines in the morning of all the coffee spots. That proves it. They're the best on the block. Go here. read more

I've been loving Peet's ever since I discovered it first during my undergrad years in Berkeley, where it originated from. Their coffees and lattes are so smooth and much more preferred than Starbucks. For me, any Peet's anywhere is worth going to, and I always make a stop whenever I have the opportunity. As for this location, it is a friendly, cozy place with some outside seating where you can spot people from different walks of life and their beautiful dogs. I wanted to be able to give this Peets location a 5 stars... after all it's in Larchmont and I would think would have good standards. It's a lovely little strip of the city yet I sadly have to give it 1 stars. I witnessed a male staffer play with a dog, wipe the dogs nose with his bare hands, and hurry back into the barista station, pick up someone's pastry (thank goodness it was at least in a bag) without washing his hands, and then go to the sink and do a rush job of washing his hands then back to coffee making. I WILL NEVER be returning here. If cleanliness wasn't placed as even more of a priority during our last crisis, I don't know what will make it a priority for some. And if someone is still struggling with hand washing and knowing the priority before handling someone's food or drink, it is NOT their practice and I will NOT be back. And that smell in the restroom horrid. Get it together Peets, someone may be continuing to go there for coffee, yet it will not be me. Raise your standards, not your prices for drinks that are less than good. Practice makes better drinks and customer experience if you care about that. SMH and moved on already. read more

This Peets is very well located in the center of the upscale Larchmont st. in Hancock Park(historic wealthy LA neighborhood). It was a hot day and I appreciated the excellent AC. The coffee was rich tasting and strong. Staff was also very good but didn't know bean origins when I asked. I enjoyed the relaxed sociable atmosphere unlike the one on 3rd and fairfax which is really busy with alot of vagrants hassling people. The interior is nice but not large enough for the crowd at peak times. People do comfortably sit outside on benches. read more

On Larchmont, if you can't find a great cup of coffee, you are asleep with a DO NOT DISTURB sign around your neck! There are plenty of great choices here. And to make matters worse, they're all damn good. Of course, Peet's has a special place in many people's hearts. Why? It's European-styled crafted treats plus some very serious coffee. Plus, they have an intimate vibe (though sometimes the tables are a wee bit close together). And, for some, a deciding factor is, Peet's is not the place with the mermaid logo. Peet's presents a lovely little hideway -- being on the southern edge of the fabled Boulevard. They have their specific way of doing things here -- and that includes somewhat restricted wifi. They figure two hours should cover you; not so unreasonable. Truth is, the joint gets packed. One of the highlights of this, is the sidewalk cafe. This is the only coffeeshop on Larchmont (of the coffee kings) that has any pulse. I won't say that it's Paris in the '20s, but maybe closer to the Farmers Market by Bob's with its early morning coffee klatch. It is certainly a scene. And it's a great place for people (and dog) watching. Along with a quality product, there is a real sense of personality and community here at the Larchmont Peet's. read more

Peet's Coffee is to the Bay Area what CB&TL is to Los Angeles. I think the coffees are equally as good, but of the two, Peet's is a little more serious. You won't find gimmicky ad posters here. Or menu after menu of frozen coffee ice drinks (which, they do have but just not as much as CB&TL) Rather, you'll find tons and tons of loose teas, good fresh coffees, and really knowledgable staff. Their coffee is f*cking good. Bold, fresh, flavorful. They have the strongest iced coffee I've had at a chain coffee joint. And around the holidays, the egg nogg lattes are amazing. But you can't even compare Peet's to Starbucks. If Peet's and Starbucks did Rock Paper Scissors, Peet's would kick Starbucks' ass and give it a giant wedgie everytime. read more

Still the only place on Larchmont I go for coffee, and better than Noah's and Starfucks and CB&T, but the baristas are arrogant across the board, and look down the nose at you, especially if yer a 'familiar face' which is common in there. I stood behind a name actor and he was all but ignored and was promptly belittled as he left. Does the staff know they have the best coffee on the block so they're given some license to act with no tact or consideration? I'll still go there, they make the best americano south of Melrose, but I feel the need to tie the baristas' widening ear hoops and drag them down to Starfucks... only because that's what they are!!! read more

Attitude central! As I walked to the cashier, I found myself greeting her first. She has cotton candy colored hair. She stood there with a 'I hate life' look on her face. She had no customer skills whatsoever and slammed my money on the counter then walked over to the bar to make my drink. I'm a Larchmont Village native and this type of service doesnt belong here. That's not where it stops... as I walked to the bar area to get a straw I see another employee come out of the restroom with a wet towel.. wipe down the bar, and other areas of the store. Ummmm... was that the same towel that you used to wipe down the bathroom with? Shall we call the board of health?? Get it together. Maybe hiring kids isn't the smartest move at this location. read more

Warning... this is written with angry love... Damn I love Peet's Coffee. Unfortunately, so does every other Korean person within a 5 mile radius of Larchmont. Always always always, there's a fobby group of Koreans hogging up all the seats outside, smoking their cigarettes, talking all loud in Korean, sporting their Louis Vuitton bags... I wish I could say, "Find another Peet's!" But... I digress... Peet's Coffee is really tasty. I kissed the Bucks of Star good-bye ever since: 1. My doctor told me that I have to stop the caffeine. 2. Peet's decaf is GOOD. Unlike the other guys. 3. It's also cheaper than the other guys. The workers here are very friendly and fast on their feet. A good friend of mine put it nicely, "They don't skimp on the beans." Their coffee is pretty dang good. And I drink all sorts of coffee from all sorts of places. Pretty nice staff. Always packed. The seats aren't too comfortable for studying, and the tables can be too small for it also. BUT in all fairness, it's not a library. So they are forgiven. At 7am this morning before visiting Sabor y Cultura, I searched for a local company to replace my Bodum press pot beaker, which broke on Sunday (a very sad day). I was in denial that my blessed Bodum, which reproduces the tastiest tea and coffee from even the blandest of beans, wasn't invincible. Google search, click click, and zip... Peet's sells replacement pots!!! So I called my closest Peet's and spoke with Emily. Bless you Emily and your family and thier family's family and all of your domestic pets, and your ancestors, and their dead domestic pets!!! I asked if you had an eight-cup Bodum beaker in stock, and you checked, and you did, and you asked my name again so you could set it aside in the office, and when I asked you the hours you said you were open until 9pm. Bless you Emily for giving me no reason to leave work to pick up this beaker, even though I would have despite the economy and everyones teetering job security!!! I can't wait to pick up my new pot, and pay whatever you ask, and buy some beans, in a fancy grind, and get a complimentary cup of coffee, which I know will taste delicious but not nearly as delicious as my pressed pot. oh... wait.. maybe her name was Erika... You are tasty and you make my single macchiato like it is supposed to be made. Yours is a coffee for people who can hold their espresso. You use filters on your water and your nutmeg comes in a gadget too expensive for me to justify buying from William Sonoma. Your pastries are from La Brea Bakery and are made with real butter and ingredients I can pick out from a recipe line up. Starbuck's will forever be a stranger because of you. If I absolutely have to go to a chain coffee shop, I choose Peet's(1). The coffee is much better than Starbucks(2) and The Coffee Bean(3). It's better than all the low tier neighborhood cafes(4) too. Their cappuccinos(5) are tasty, and I've found all the different locations I've been to consistent and reliable. It's a place I'll go out of my way for when it's an option. Peet's also had one thing that made me like them even more recently: Clean-Caf descaler packets for cleaning home espresso machines. After scouring Cost Plus, Bed Bath and Beyond, Crate and Barrel, Macy's, Nordstrom's, Starbucks, The Coffee Bean, and everywhere else that sells espresso machines or beans, they were the only one that stocked it. It's a little thing, but to me it shows they think a little bit more than the other stores about their product and customers(6). I like that(7). (1) This assumes a lack of Dunkin Donuts. Please come to CA and save me. (don't forget to bring a parking lot with you) (2) Bleh! I've learned to drink this char over time, but only as a last resort. It takes double my normal sugar to cover the bitterness. (3) Putrid!! Worst iced coffee EVER. Why use crushed ice in it? Crushed ice only melts faster! Hate Hate Hate! They all seem to smell like dish soap and diarrhea inside (particularly the one located at the Grove). (4) I'm not anti chain, I'm anti crap coffee. Chains are just easier to generalize about. There's plenty of bad mom & pop coffee out there too. (5) The way they serve it is actually just a short latte if you want to get technical. (6) Peet's doesn't even sell espresso machines. This cozy Peets' location provided excellent customer service for me twice in that twice I didn't have to pay $4 for my usual Hazelnut Latte because I asked for Less Ice, yet they failed to perform that task on my request. Upon hearing that I needed less ice, they made an extra one for me, hence making the drink less than what it would have cost normally. I was extremely grateful for that. I have taken pics of this Peets' Location. The reason that I drove out here was for the Ultimate Women's Expo happening in L.A.'s Convention Center. I had mapquested a Peets in L.A., to finid out that this Larchmont Blvd. location was the one closest to the Convention Center; if you're in that area looking for a Peets, I would google it before you go. Somehow, my old-versioned GPS ALWAYS made me go different ways arriving at the destination and leaving this Peets, I learned NOT to drive on Vermont turning on 3rd street (or something similar to that route). Please don't turn on any numbered street if you can avoid doing so; that one left turn killed my time----wasted like 10 min. on one left turn driving through Korea Town just getting to this Peets from the Convention Center. So, my advice is if you know of a better short cut, please use that one!!! It has been my thing to look for a Peets everywhere I go visiting that I think a Peets would exist since a few years ago; this is a fun type of venture I have----not sure why. I love Peets coffee because they use high quality type of coffee beans making the drinks; I always order the Hazelnut Latte medium size with light ice. If it's cold, I get the hot one; when I'm in the mood for a latte, I'd just order a regular coffee w/hazelnut in it. I can't drink coffee dark; I'm not sure how some ppl. can, but dark coffee is way too bitter for me. Other than that, I took away a star because not knowing how parking around this Peets' location was, it was a bit difficult to park the first time I visited it. I've already visited it twice, thus, I got better parking here the second time. Since I figured it was a weekend, no cops would check meter parking esp. if it's a machined meter parking. I didn't pay for that parking because I wasn't gonna be staying for an hour. I was only going to be in and outta Peets, returning to my main event of the day, the Ultimate Women's Expo in L.A.'s Convention Center on Sunday Oct/02/2011. I needed to jet to a Peets for my long day's break; I was glad I found this Peets. It was always crowded, so I'm glad that my choice was correct for my usual caffeine needs. My only wish is that parking wouldn't have been so much a headache, otherwise, I would visit this Peets if you're in the area. read more
