Visited this location on Saturday. The cafe was quiet, there were just a few patrons inside. There was a bit of a line to order though. There was only one employee working; he had to ring people up and create the drinks. For it be a (small) wait, the barista did make my ice americano so good. I normally like Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf if I am going with a chain coffee shop. This location is just uniquely bad, and I've tried this location a few times now to make sure I didn't experience a fluke. The store mostly seems designed and operated to convince customers to leave. Bathrooms are consistently filthy (see photos) and of course since there is only ever one person is typically working at any time, they never get cleaned. The store has also covered all of its outlets with metal plates because heaven forbid customers would want to work in the store. The only reason I gave this location two stars is that their product is generally consistent, so if you are getting something to go you might be okay. Otherwise, there are plenty of other coffee shops in close proximity. You'll be happier with those shops. read more

Ever wonder why your drink isn't ready when it should be? It's because the barista is on her personal device while making drinks. Placed a mobile order for ONE drink at 8:05 and should've been ready by 8:13. My drink was in fact not ready, she had an attitude and said WAIT FOR YOUR DRINK IF ITS NOT THERE YET. Like I know it's early but just wanted to know if my drink was ready... my drink didn't become available until 8:36. Why did it take over 15 minutes to make an iced coffee? Wait I know, because she kept texting and scrolling on social media between drinks. Not only was she rude, she didn't speak much English, she was so slow and on her device. She also didn't wash her hands after touching her phone, register, and food. Very unprofessional and unsanitary. Coffee Bean please do better. read more

I like this location. It's very convenient as I have clients right across the street. The first few times that I got a boba drink from here, I was surprisingly very shocked about how good it was. The texture consistency of it was great. The last two times have been AWFUL!! NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I CAN'T TELL IF IT'S OLD OR OVERCOOKED. And of course that's what I get for getting boba from coffee Bean rather than a boba shop. But I had such a good experience the first two times that I thought maybe they knew what they were doing. But instead of it being awful as the fluke it being correct and tasty is the actual fluke. Very disappointed. But I will say the blended ube drink under the kid-friendly section is delicious. After the horrible experience at this location today; if Nick is not there I will go elsewhere!!! I had a simple order small plain iced coffee and cookies but the people that came in after me with more complex orders received their orders first. No one was there when I first got there, then the crowd came, and only one person was taking and making orders (very slow)! B.T. W the second employee (a lady) who finally came out to help has a horrible attitude very bad vibe from her! I love the new and different drinks. I asked the barista the difference between the Caramel Latte and the Caramel Sea Salted Macchiato. He stated if I liked less sweet to go with the latter. I been there 30 min ago ordered hot mocha with almond milk- they made it fast but it's not sweet at all. I always go to coffee bean and the tea leaf and I always order same hot mocha and it's first time it's not sweet. I never been at this location on Wilshire before I paid with my phone and the terminal didn't ask me for tips, it just processed the payment without and I don't have cash to tip cash. May be because of that they made my coffee not sweet at all. I hope they can fix the terminal because it's not my fault that it doesn't let give a tip. read more

The food and drinks are typical of mediocre coffee houses. The service is not so great. Often time only 1 employee. That presents a safety issue and also slows down the line when they are 4 or 5 people deep. Update. "Give me a few minutes" is a lame AF way to greet a customer who walks in. Probably going to regret giving this place 5 stars and ultimately making it filled with more people, but I love this Coffee Bean. I went to the Starbucks across the street to get work done but it always got so crowded that it's difficult to find a seat/table. Then this place opened up and I came here and love it. It's very clean and spacious with a communal and smaller tables that allow for people to enjoy their coffee/do work in a non-cramped environment. The baristas are all very nice and welcoming. Parking - they give validation for 1 hr parking in their garage. There is also limited parking on the residental street. read more

Again, I have never been to this CB&TL location and this review is for the corporate location listed at 5700 Wilshire Blvd. I had an issue with a store experience and finally heard back from someone from their guest relations team after 3 weeks of first contacting them. Walked here after an awesome lunch at Genwa because I knew I needed some caffeine in the afternoon so I wouldn't fall asleep after all the food I just ate... Tis the season for Pumpkin latte,woo-hoo!! I treated myself to a hot, large cup and was a bit frightened at the 450 calorie listing on the menu. Oo... oh well, never mind the calorie bomb, it was a small sacrifice for a delicious drink. I did ask the barista if there was any way they could make the drink with nonfat milk or sugar-free syrup or something, to try to cut down the calories a bit, and he told me that it's already made with nonfat milk. Oh. But then he also mentioned that I could also substitute soy milk or almond milk, too. I think soy has a lot of calories, so I chose almond milk instead. It cost 60 cents for the substitution, and I couldn't even taste it in the drink, but hopefully it made my beverage an eensy bit healthier. ;) The drink was very sweet but still delicious. CBTL makes a good cup o' joe. I'm not one for fru-fru coffee drinks, but every now and again I'll give it a try. The Speculoos Cookie-Butter is a terrific flavor for when I find myself openly weeping in public. Oh god, I wish I were dead, but don't harvest my worthless soul before I finish this tasty treat! Brand new Bean. Really nicely furnished. Lots of tables. I mean lots. Also, the lighting is really good. Nicest looking Coffee Bean I've ever seen. They have some comfy chairs set up outside around the tables. They have free parking underneath the building, which is a big plus in this neighborhood. Now for the tea. I ordered an iced, peach green tea. It was so weak, it tasted mostly like water. I mean super weak tasting tea. Two stars off for that, but I'll still go back, because it's such a nice place. This is the best Coffee Bean I have ever seen. It's very spacious, is really well-lit, and has a nice looking furniture. The only corporate coffee shop that I can compare with this one is an elegant Starbucks close to Battery Park in New York City. I have yet to see a Starbucks or Coffee Bean or Peet's Coffee with a better environment than this one in Los Angeles. And yes, you heard it correctly: the whole LA! The people here are nice and friendly. I don't have a picky or complicated taste, but I like whatever I get from them, especially their vanilla latte and chai latte. I guess the great environment makes what you get from them even tastier. This is a new place, but now I am a regular here. I will share my future experiences here again. read more

I went on the Paramount Studio Tour located at 5555 Melrose Avenue Hollywood CA. 90038 I do not know how to locate the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in the Paramount Studio Gift Shop. I had the pleasure of Roberto making me a delicious Malibu Dream. He was so helpful and polite. I asked to add an add shot to my drink and he made it for me and it was delicious. Literally LOVE going there and would have given a five star review - The thing I don't like about ALL coffee beans is the inability to tip with my debit card or Apple Pay or through the CB app. A huge part of my loving the coffee bean experience is the wonderful people who work there. I tend to go there after working out - I'm not carrying cash on my workouts. So I would REALLY love to see CB update their payment systems to allow customers like me be able to show how much we love the people behind the counter who are working so hard for your brand. read more

Below is the letter I sent to Coffee Bean about my experience. Since I've not heard back, I have no reason to believe this type of behavior is disallowed at this location so I will not be going back even though it's about 2 miles closer to me than the other location convenient to me. I should note that I went to a different CB the very next day and was not asked to provide proof of purchase, of course... because it's coffee. And prepaid. *** I should start by mentioning how much I LOVE CB and much prefer it over Starbuck's for my Iced coffees when I'm out and about. I'm writing to bring attention to how your employee made me feel picking up my mobile order today. I was asked something I've never* been asked before using mobile ordering for ANY coffee place, to "show her my order." This may seem benign but please consider a few things. This specific location is located on a portion of Wilshire Blvd that is currently under construction and whose storefront is almost completely obstructed from street view, including their "We are open" sign. But for their higher placed, other sign, there is a literal wall blocking the whole corner this location sits upon. NEVERMIND the cashier not saying hello back to me as I entered, which I thought was strange since she was just standing there looking at me as the only* other person in the store. To be asked to show proof of my order, which could NOT have been more than one of a handful that hour, beyond my specific and easy NAME, feels so strange. Especially noting that I'm never asked for it any other time, and that's not hyperbole. No other place asks for proof of order unless there is an error or an order is not made. I am a black male and as much as I'd love to say this wasn't some sort of prejudice, this has actually never happened before so I can only assume. I supposed that's a conversation better had with the staff... During a time when I am making about one trip out of my home per week to avoid potential COVID exposure, the experiences I have in customer service are becoming more and more impactful, for better or for worse. To have received such a COLD response entering a business I can NOT imagine hasn't been negatively affected by the construction blocking their business on top of COVID restrictions; it stands out and I can easily say I've received better reception from gas station attendants than from this woman behind the counter.
