Yep, I used to live in the Outer Richmond and work in FiDi. So, IF I got a ride to work, I'd see if we could just swing by and grab a quick cup of coffee at the Laurel Village Peet's. Now that I no longer live in Richmond district nor work in FiDi, I still stop by when I'm visiting friends on that side of SF. Quick grab of Peet's coffee and visit to the fishmonger if they are open (not open on Sunday, one of the two days I'd possibly go to Laurel Village) and perhaps a stroll along the stores. This is my favorite Peet's. I always get treated very well here. The service is excellent and the coffee is great. I have never gotten a bad latte from here. They don't over roast their beans like most other places so the excellent flavor of the espresso is actually able to come out. The one downside to this place is that you really can't go here and hang out. This is really more of a Peet's problem than the Laurel Village Peet's, but it's there nevertheless. Bottom line: when I want a really good latte, I go here. I know I can park and I know that it will be good. read more

Odd experience at Peet's today. The young man behind the Coffee Bean counter needs to PULL UP HIS PANTS. Imagine my surprise to see the crack of his a... when he turned around to measure my order. One of my favorite Peet's...I like the windows up front where you can people watch the Laurel Heights crowd, which usually has plenty of dogs, little kids, and people freaking out trying to catch the bus there at the corner. Back in the day when I lived in San Francisco I worked at this Peet's. Yes, this was the location of my personal interaction with Tom Waits. He ordered a pound of coffee ( I wish I could remember which kind) and declined the free cup that went with it. I also served Peter Coyote some java one time as well...enough about my brushes with greatness... This is a good, old fashioned Peet's made with tons of real wood before the company grew and started to spend less on the materials they use in their stores....great place to work, in general great customers accepting those who arrive at 7:30am experiencing caffeine withdrawal attempting to order the most complicated drink, ever, when they can barely put sentences together....yikes! Lots of baby strollers, huge dogs and people in a hurry but where won't you find that these days. read more

Since Crossroads is not by work, I opt for Pete's. They usually do a fair job on my dry cappuccino and the cherry oatmeal bars are addictive, but these strange mothers who think it is cute to tie up an entire establishment with their out-of-control kids in Mercedes strollers can make this place a bit of a challenge. read more

My go-to Peet's. Great crew here always on it for keeping the brew fresh and the best, honest friendly service. Tight for space if you're looking for a longer stopover, but parking in the back lot is free with extra neighborhood pkg if you feel like testing your karma. read more

Best coffee, staff is almost always friendly and helpful, great atmosphere. Had a scone yesterday (3-13-13) that was terrible. Tasted undercooked. My friends' muffin was not much better. The line can get long, but I've always found it to move fairly quick; service is usually fast and friendly. I like to call this place a grab-and-go, as there aren't enough chairs to go around for people who want to hang around and leisurely sip their coffee. (Then again, if you can't snag a window seat, you can also try to catch the dog/stroller/people-watching action on Laurel Village up close from the bench outside.) Grew up in the east bay, so I have a little bit of a preference to Peet's of the branded formula coffe guys. But of all of the locations, the Laurel Heights cafe is my favorite. Especially great for peoplewatching, there is always an eclectic stream of people walking through. read more

This is my coffee go to. Granted the line on the weekend is INSANE, would it kill you to have a few more people working? I have even mentioned this to them, hello, they are a client of ours and still nothing. Oh, one can dream can't they? The raspberry scone is very tasty, as at the croissants. Skip the currant scone as what's the point, there is no fruit in there. If you go at an off time, you are golden, but buyer be advised, the weekend a mid-morning is baby and stroller central. If the wee things are not your scene, then i advise to go elsewhere. read more

Alright, so I DESPISE Peet's coffee - it's WAY too...burnt-tasting for me! I can't stomach it. But since I've now given up coffee, a lovely date of mine brought me some Peet's hibiscus tea, and it was *delish*. I got a hibiscus lemonade cooler here, and they were friendly and dealt with me being overwhelmed by the menu, since I've basically not stepped foot in one in years. When you need some strong ass coffee in the morning, Peet's is definitely your place to go. None of that sugar-in-everything Starbucks bullshit. That's amateur shit. You don't need coffee. You just want a slight taste of it with hella cream and syrup. Everything here tastes stronger...even their teas I feel like has more of a stronger, bitter, blacker TEA taste than anywhere else. I hear their caramel lattes and their vanilla lattes are good but I only go for one thing here and that's their drip coffee. I'm a creature of habit so I don't really want to try other drinks. Plus lattes are more expensive and my cup of small coffee that I literally sip for an entire 8 hr workday and STILL have a problem finishing it sometimes..is $1.80. Enough said. Stopped by while waiting for an appointment. It was pretty empty, especially compared to the large Starbucks down the street. The staff was nice and my matcha latte was fine, though maybe a little foamy. But the reason for the three stars is because the bathroom was in really bad shape - very dirty and stained floor, sink and toilet. The floor in the shop could have used a good sweep and mop too. I probably wouldn't have really noticed it, if not for the mess in the bathroom which made me feel unclean at the start, so it made me notice the spills, trash and sticky/empty simple sugar and milk station. Hoping this review gets them to clean up a bit to compete with the Starbucks. read more

The product here is good, it is the Bay Area (Berkeley) version of Starbucks. Similar products, but often gets the benefit of the doubt here because it is "home grown." You get the same type of crowd at both, the one difference is that Peet's is more consistent with what they give to their customers. It is a corporation too, so this nonsense that Starbucks is that bad guy because it is big business is BS, so is Peets. Good coffee, and more consistent! read more

I don't know what they do to the coffee that makes it do what it does to me but I like it! I have yet to find coffee that wakes me up as fast and for as long as Peet's does. Unfortunately, I can't quite replicate the feeling when I make it at home; it doesn't energize me as fast. The line can get a little ridiculous in the mornings. I am not one to support chains, but what can I say, these guys make my high-maintenance foo-foo drink just how I want it, especially Haley, Josie, Jenna and Anthony (I won't order a cappucino unless I see him behind the bar). I sure hope this store appreciates what great "artisan" (lol) baristas they have, and the cashiers are friendly too. They are fast and do the job right. Until they invent a fancy Italian name for my Americano with foam, and until a Mom and Pop place I find can make it right, I will shamefully keep giving my hard-earned skrill to Peet's in Laurel Village. My beloved Peet's. Great seating here. This is a fantastic alternative to Starbucks down the street. I love the staff. They're always friendly. The only downside is the morning rush can make this a wait. I wouldn't come while people are making their morning commute, but ... MUNI express bus is just outside the shop. ;) read more

Yesterday I watched the employee serving me wipe her nose on her arm while she was getting my coffee and she came back to the register coughing. This morning (7am) there was only one register open. With five people in line the employee at the register turns around and takes several minutes to pour more grounds in and brew coffee. When there are 4 other employees who could be doing that. Each and every person working at this location is so incredibly enjoyable and excellent at what they do -- thoughtful and balanced in how they approach situations, and just really a pleasure. My fiance and I particularly enjoy: Allison; and the guy who pulls his long-ish hair back; and the lady who knows a lot about products from the perspective of being trained as a chef. I asked that lady about the vanilla beans they sell and she answered my question re how to make my tea taste vanilla-ish, involving throwing some bean shavings into my box of sweetener at home. While I I've always liked this Peet's, never again. A few of us were waiting in line with only 2 people working, no one else appears to be working but the 2 people. And the people in front of me were becoming impatient having to wait. It took forever to get waited on. After I ordered my drink and was waiting by the window for my drink to be made, I made a mistake, removed my mask to take a bite of the scone I just purchased while I was more than 8 feet away from anyone. And the people working there came out of the woodwork to reprimand me. I said I'm sorry, totally had forgotten the rules. I had done the exact same thing earlier in the week with no one commenting. In thinking about it, I totally get it with the rule changing to no indoor eating allowed. Totally my mistake. I apologized and put my mask on immediately, while the barista stood there glaring at me forever (!)) (really) And of course I had to ask for my drink which had been sitting there who knows how long. I find it interesting when they should be providing better service people, no one is there. When I accidentally remove my mask, they all show up. I think it's sad, they don't show up to provide better service. read more
