Free parking in lot just south! Go underground for 2 hours free, no validation or anything. The baristas are super friendly and there is plenty of seating. It's not crowded and for once, there were ZERO sketch balls lounging around. I tried the matcha javiva blended for the first time and they made the coconut whipped cream fresh! A little pricey but if you sign up for rewards you can get free drinks once in a while and splurge ;) the patio is quite big too wth umbrellas and lots of tables. We will drive 20 mins farther to enjoy this location over the one closer to us. Always super friendly service, cool atmosphere, and of course great coffee. Easy parking on side on underground (but making a left in & out of there from Ventura can be tricky) Love when we can get the cushion chairs, but lot's of options inside at tables or counters. Outside is always nice on the patio or under the gazebo. Even though it's on busy Ventura, the staff is always personable & caring & so vibe here feels more like a neighborhood coffee shop where you can actually talk to other ppl. I've def quietly fan girled over a celebrity or two in there too LOL. Wish we were closer, but always worth the extra drive to enjoy Peet's the way it was intended. My fav is still their Caramel Macciatto *:) *Bring your own reusable cup for cup discount & to cut down on waste. *If you have time while there, stroll over to Healthy Spot to see all the dogs in day care for extra shot of happiness, or to the thrift store next to them for fun finds, or into the Lululemon for awesome workout gear. I've been a regular at the Studio City Peet's for awhile now, working on my laptop. The staff really makes an effort to greet their customers and remember their usual drinks & snacks. The coffee is truly delicious and the matcha is organic (not a big fan of Starbucks' coffee taste and their Monsanto deal). Also the patio is very inviting. I'm impressed with Peet's and despite the occasional cool breeze from their AC (which I was told is to keep the beans fresh!), I love coming here, and will keep on doing so. read more

First thing is first, parking was an absolute nightmare. Peet's is at the end of the street and there is a parking structure for the whole building but spots are used and filled up so you need to go to additional parking area underground and it is so far to come to Peet's that there is no point. I'm a regular at the Peet's in tarzana so I love the coffee. But this location was just very different for me, the set up of the store was off. When it came time to pick up my coffee they don't even put lids on it anymore even when asked to go. So I had to stand there and put the lids on 3 of my coffees, then I asked for a stopper and they said they discontinued them due to avoiding plastic. Stoppers are meant for coffees, and I am all for saving the environment but just like straws how now we use better straws, why not have better stoppers since they are used to prevent coffees from spilling. read more

When I used to live in Studio City back in the year 2000 . . . . I walked to this Peet's location nearly every single day. My brother still lives in S.C. and when I visit we often grab a tea or coffee at Peets. The interior decor and Stickley-esque (I think they're knock offs) couches, tables & chairs will impress even the snootiest of coffee/tea aficionados. Scrumptious La Brea bakery treats await your eager taste buds. I think this might be my favorite SO-Cal Peet's location but don't quote me since my friends over on Main St. Santa Monica have been keeping me good & jacked out of my gourd for the past seven years. read more

As I write this review, I realize I really should come to Peet's more! It's a good alternative to Starbucks or Coffee Bean, but still a chain. I think the reason they can compete is their baked goods are top-notch (I used to get a bear claw EVERY day from Peet's) and their frozen drinks are yummy without reeking of sugar or syrup. I feel like they've been more accepting for longer of dietary restrictions and milk substitutions here than the other two main coffee places, but maybe that's just my vibe. I feel like this store stays busy but not crowded. Tip: they have really good iced tea flavors sometimes! I like to combine the seasonal hibiscus and lime. Ah, PEET'S! Ever do I rue the day when my house-maties converted me to the . . . CULT OF PEET'S. . . (ominous soundtrack w/strings & horns) Forevermore am I shackled to driving 4 miles to get that cup of irridescently zingy Americano w/1 inch steamed soy-plus-foam. It's so good, it's not even coffee anymore. You can quote me on that. It's some other food-drug entirely. Makes me realize why/how the Sufis in the Middle East used coffee in some of their rituals. But it must have been ground and brewed fresh daily, . . . just like at Peet's. It's so irresistible I still go, even after running a "footprint" analysis of how much carbon is generated by driving for that one cup of americano. (Did you know one gallon of gasoline generates 20 POUNDS of carbon dioxide?! Terrifying.) Think of how much carbon I could offset just by getting off my derriere & biking over there! Why isn't there a Peet's within walking distance, darn it! (I must admit, we've entertained fantasies of opening up an underground Peet's stand in our hood.) ANYWAY, the staff at Peet's in Sherman Oaks are cute & fun (hey Kelsea!), which somewhat makes up for the fairly boring older crowd that hangs there with their script-laden laptops and baby-movers. & the occasional star or starlet who may have rolled down off Laurel with the rains. DO NOTE, however, that you CAN find a highly fascinating & eccentric fellow named Laetolili Baaba there, holding office hours -- he looks like a lost Ethopian Shaman, in barefeet and massive ear and lip piercings. Baaba is always happy to engage a deep philosophy discussion at the drop of a hat, so say hi if you see him. Oh, final caveat for Peet's--why isn't ALL their coffee organic & fair-trade. I cant believe how good their nonfat latte is compared to CBTL and Starbucks. Its insane. I need one pack of splenda and I'm in coffee heaven. I think what sets Peet's apart from the rest is the dollop of creamy foamy goodness they put on top. The shop is clean and large enough that there is always a place to sit. It's great a great place to meet a friend, do some work or read a book. Have I mentioned how good the coffee is? I used to come here all the time because it was (and still is?) only one of two Peet's in the entire Valley (management, we need more). Back then it was the only place wherein I could actually have an intelligent conversation with a stranger. Went back recently and had my usual (at all the Peet's I go to), the Dark Chocolate Mocha Freddo and because I was curious, I asked for almond milk. First sip, and I knew I made a mistake. The barista was really nice and remade it for me, with my beloved soy milk. If anything, I think this place has gotten better in the intervening four years that I was away. read more

I give praise to the coffee gods that I have been given a Peets in close proximity. They must have deemed me worthy. But in all seriousness, this is probably my first choice in coffee if the Peets is within close proximity. Unfortunately there are not too many in the Southern Cal area. But thankfully, this location in Studio City is just a short drive away. I'll often skip the Star&*(&'s that a block-and-a-half from my place to drive a mile here. Their coffee is nice and strong and their baked goods hit the spot. I've not had the good fortune or time to drink their teas but hope to some day. Ok, I'll admit it. I'm a PEETS fan. It's my favorite of all the chains. I wish they were even 1/4 as ubiquitous as that other brand, the one with a star in the name. Their dark roasts are better than anything the others offer, and their iced and blended drinks actually taste like COFFEE, and not just a cloying milkshake. The studio city location is an oasis of sanity. The staff are all so nice, and it's one of the best places I know to bring a laptop and work at. read more

I always felt bad hitting this Peets as I was a Starbucks manager down the road. It only took one cup of coffee to make me a Peets fan. There was a problem with the store though. Went for the wi-fi and had to plug my computer into a plug on the floor and the amount of crap inside the outlet made me think I was going to get 120 volts once I plugged it in. I didn't and I survived the computer usage. The coffee is stronger than Starbucks and taste a little better. That depends on the coffee they are serving. My favorite coffee is Starbucks Komodo Dragon-- a fine spicy coffee. Anyone know of one like that at Peets? read more

Peet's Coffee is number one in my book. I know that some patrons are upset about not always having things their way, so they take it to yelp and cry about it. Some complain about lack of plugs? What, did you think that you were the only one in the city that thought of going to Peet's Coffee today? Really who complains about something that a company can't control? Really? Get over yourself. Maybe they should make a special plug for the cry babies. If its busy and all plugs are being used, then why do you expect the super speed service? Anyways.....Thank you Peet's for doing such an amazing job and having the best tasting coffee! You guys get so busy that there is a line out the door but with all of that along with the cry babies that complain about them being inconvenienced and having to adjust like all others in the world. Maybe they think its their world and everyone else is just renting space. This place is very clean, warm, welcoming, and they treat everyone with terrific services. The regulars, guest, new comers and grouches are all treated well. Yes even the grouches. I have seen how they deal with the good and the bad. Peet's impressed me very much and gave the best customer service even when the customer was wrong.... Peet's made it right. GREAT JOB PEET'S!!! The customer service isn't good at this location at least not towards myself. Long lines and only one person making coffee so you may have to wait for just the house coffee because they show no sense of urgency whatsoever. They have their regulars that they take care of but if you don't frequent this location buyer beware. Went to Ralph's and just bought Pete's there. Problem solved! read more

I like Peet's in general, not my favorite coffee but I'll pop in every now and then. This location has friendly service, is in a great area, and has a lot of seating. It's almost never too busy that you can't find a seat...which I love. If I have a meet up with a friend I'll invite them here so we're not standing around somewhere. I also like that it's usually nice and quiet. My gripe is that I can never go here to work, the internet is SO bad. It ends up being a waste of my time. I've tried it quite a bit too. I'd be here a lot more otherwise. Bottom line, I'd recommend, unless you need to use the internet--then i'd say skip it and go to a different cafe. read more
