Why? - Always plenty of parking - always clean - always plenty of seating - calm and peaceful dining room - my Americano is always great So why am I writing a review for a visit to this CBTL location that happened over a month ago? Because I'm still thinking about how incredibly sweet and heartwarming the service and attention I get here from repeat offender ERICA. My last 5 star review for this location was 9 months ago, and it was almost all about ERICA. Such a sweetheart--GENUINE. THE REAL DEAL. HEART SO BIG CANT BE FAKED. And a month ago, by random chance, I walked back into this location, and had forgotten about Erica until I saw her again. And before I said a word about my preceding visit and 5-star review for her, she was already giving me ammo for yet another 5-star review. I wasn't having the best day, but as Erica took my order, Erica made me smile big. She didn't even recognize me (it had been months, and I'm only one of thousands that's she's served), but she was still just such a sweet and caring soul. A planet full of caring, kind and thoughtful people like Erica would be worth fighting for. CBTL has this thing about hiring the best people. They find the best people. Busy location in Studio City. Parking lot in back that is usually pretty full by mid morning. The staff is very friendly and they make some great drinks, almost always accurate when I visit. About a half dozen tables inside that are filled most days with out-of-work actors, aspiring social media stars or those with a full office setup. Better than Starbucks, a notch or two below other independent coffee shops nearby. read more

I've been coming here for years and recently just stopped in during some middle of the day sleepiness that led me here. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available and service has always ben polite and quick. Parking in this plaza is very hit or miss and this time I parked on the side street in the back and walked over. I got a vanilla latte and enjoyed my drink. This CBTL is the real deal! Dropped in this evening after the big game and fueled up on an iced coffee. The first thing that stood out was the service--every barista and server were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The coffee itself was excellent: fresh, smooth, and brewed just right, without that burnt taste I've noticed at other locations. Aside from that, there's plenty of parking and seating options both indoors and outdoors. Will definitely be coming back for more coffee. read more

My friend invited me for a coffee for some catching up. We meet up after her work and before my shift starts. It was a weekday night so we were able to find a parking spot in the small private parking. While walking to the store, we can see from outside that all the tables are occupied. So we decided to get one of the tables outside. Good thing we were dressed for the cold night. We both ordered a blended drink. I got myself a Hazelnut and I find it okay. Nothing special about it. While my friend got a Mango. She wasn't happy about it so she had it redone like 3 times until she was okay with it. It is not how she wanted but got tired of redoing it. So glad the barista was glad to have it redone over and over again. 1 Star in the 4th of July wich seemed offensive to the staff. 6am open but the lights stayed off til 7:30 am when a staff member ran in late. They were upset with there lives and didn't notice the customers who left. I asked for the manager he came up and just looked at me. He replied to opening laye as, "We were here, you know because of 'the holiday.' What holiday is that? He said um the 4th." I'm sure he gave better 'energy' to less important events. I have been going to this location for at least 15 years. Usually everyone is nice and friendly but there is one worker ( I don't know his name) usually he wears mask and his fingernails painted in black, he is skinny and not friendly. He made my drink wrong and I asked him politely to redo my drink. He got so angry and was throwing things and showed me the most horrible attitude. I wish we had Coffee Beans in the bay area, where I'm from We came here twice during our vacation. I tried two of their cold brew fruit teas. Also my hubby is a huge fan of their chorizo and egg burrito. I think it's just a pre-made burrito, that they throw in the toaster oven. But he thinks it's so tasty and flavorful. I really liked their tea. The peach jasmine is yummy and fruity. They have a special strawberry blended tea with a foam cap. I think I was expecting more of a salty cheese cap (like they have at boba teahouses) but the foam was sweet. And I'm not a huge fan of blended drinks, as I'm a slow drinker, so it's always melts before I can really enjoy the blended-ness. Also I found it didn't have a huge tea flavor. It was kinda a gimmicky drink. Stick to their straight cold brew teas. read more

First and foremost I would like to say that I am NOT really a coffee or tea type of a person. However, whenever I am in the mood for some good, tasty coffee, tea or latte..... this is the place that I like to go!! CBTL is truly a great coffee shop in every way. Close to my home, it is chill, relaxing, not too expensive, great baristas, and staff are super nice, fast, approachable, and friendly. I have been to this specific location at least like 7 times and NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE with anyone or anything. Their coffee, latte is NOT too strong nor is it too sweet or bitter. It is just PERFECT and good for my palate. Inside is very welcoming and everyone is doing their own thing. Whether they are working on their computers, or just talking, having their cold or hot beverages. I am not to much into their food. It is kind of bland, but I am not going to duck a star for that. It is so clean and fully stocked. Also comfortable furniture and just a cool ambiance and atmosphere. (inside and outside their patio). Thank you CBTL and staff for being loyal to your customers. One last thing; people please don't compare CBTL to Starbucks or to any other coffee shop. Each one has it's own style and taste. Same goes with their staff members. Stopped by this location to pick up a too good to go order and it was great. I was able to get 3 items. Two of them were great and the 3rd one was okay. I was told that sometimes more items are out but it's okay. The gal in the front was super nice and super sweet. Parking is easy to find and love the white chocolate mocha here too. I went to coffee bean in a late afternoon. In times like these it's not easy finding a coffee shop that's open late. They're all basically closed very early and the ones who are open have very bad vibes. You don't want to open your morning with. Luckily, I found this place! The seating here is comfortable and located out of sight so you feel privacy while working. I'm bummed that I can't leave a tip for the barista. I was in such a hurry that I didn't even remember to order my drink with oat milk. 1000% my fault. I simply double checked with the barista in my confusion, and they remade my drink perfectly and they were so kind about it. I didn't even have to ask. In times like these, it's become a challenge for me to find a coffee shop that's open relatively late. Any local spot is typically closed by 5 or 6pm. Even most chains close by around 9pm (not including drive-thrus). So, it was nice to find this spot with indoor and outdoor seating open until 10pm. I know it's a chain, but I'm on a night-shift sleeping schedule so I'm mostly asleep during the day and awake all night. My current living situation is not conducive to studying and I really want to find a go-to spot for late-night studying. Again...I know this place this a chain, but for now, I'm just grateful to find a place close to home, with a decent cup of coffee, and pretty good service...oh, there are outlets for charging and a parking lot. Always better than Starbucks and day of the week, I've rarely have had a drink I don't care for from here but rarely had a drink that was good at Starbucks except for the dragon fruit lemonade. Been a fan for several decades especially when you were able to buy the chocolate powder and the bottle coffee liquid which it doesn't seem they carry anymore, their hot chai with extra extra vanilla powder is also a pleasant drink, they are really good for a franchise and don't have bitter coffee like the other. read more

This is a consistently busy location and I am generally impressed with how well the staff handles things. Always friendly. Always helpful. One of my 2 go to spots. Appreciate the hard work. Oh and I like the coffee too. And the tea. And the breakfast sandwiches are wayyyy better than what they were a few years ago when they'd get warmed up in that plastic bag. Not any more!! Man, I really must be missing something. I DO NOT know why this place is rated so low! This is one of my favorite places to get coffee in Studio City/Sherman Oaks! First thing, is this place is not Starbucks. So I guess I understand why that might upset some people, but I actually like it! In my opinion, anything Starbucks can do these guys can do just as well! One of the things that really makes this location great is that there's never really a line. Sometimes, maybe in the morning, you might have to wait a little bit but it's never going to be Like some other coffee shops where you're always waiting no matter what. Service is also always prompt, so you're never gonna be waiting for them to make yours or somebody else's drink. Another great thing about this location, is that there's plenty of seating! Inside there's a couple of comfy benches, as well as some tables. Outside,There are plenty of tables and they're all covered so you're gonna be out of the sun. this is a great place to bring a book, sit down with your coffee, and enjoy your afternoon. Also, the patio is super dog friendly! The last thing that really sets this place apart is that there's plenty of parking off Whitset. Some coffee shops in Studio City you'll have to look for parking, this is not one of those places. Now, it is a shared lot, so there may not always be a TON of open spaces. But you'll usually be able to find a spot. I really like coffee bean! it's very walkable, there's plenty of seating, there's always parking, everything is good, and most importantly everything is really reasonably priced! What is so special about this Coffee Bean compare with others in town? Well, I won't go in details because that's a big statement, but I can tell you that the Feng Shui in here feels right. I usually like to sit on the patio because it is spacious compared with the actual store. Ventura Blvd is a bustling street so don't expect a lot of action besides cars running around. This location deserves 10/10! I'm not normally a coffee drinker, but decided to treat myself to ordering coffee/treats for delivery to get through some long, stressful days recently. The drinks I've ordered have tasted way better than expected! But what amazed me most is that the staff have written uplifting, positive messages on their bags, on each order I've placed. I nearly cried when I saw the first one (life's been rough for everyone lately) because it was so simple, yet really moving. I'm a fan of The Coffee Bean, but this location is awful. I was there the other day, waiting in line at the register. The woman in front of me completed her order and stepped away. At that point, the employee manning the register (his name is Lorenzo) just started looking around, taking in the scenery, not a care in the world. I was standing there waiting for him to give me one second of his attention, but he didn't even look at me. He didn't say "Next" or "How can I help you?" or anything like that. He just pretended I wasn't standing right in front of him. So I took a step toward the register and then he noticed me. But he didn't say a word. And he didn't smile. He just stared at me with almost a glare. Don't staffers normally say something like "What can I get you today?" Lorenzo was just dead silent and looked at me like I was bothering him. Well, I placed my order and Lorenzo spoke to me in clipped sentences the whole time. He had this tone like he was just bored out of his mind. Lorenzo just doesn't care. He doesn't give a damn at all. Now, on to the second issue. I ordered an Ice Blended and when I say that it was prepared quickly, that's a major understatement. I had barely walked away from Lorenzo's register when the drink was ready for me. Of course I was happy to receive it so quickly. But I was also suspicious. Making an Ice Blended requires more than a few seconds of work. What was the deal? I couldn't tell by looking at the drink if there was a problem, so I just took it to my car and started driving away. I got only a couple inches into the drink when I hit ice. And that's why it barely took any time to make it. They just scooped an s-load of ice into the cup, poured a little of the blend in, and that was it. I paid six dollars for a big cup of ice. The Coffee Bean is a good company and I've been to other locations that are stellar. This isn't one of them. read more

I've frequented this Coffee Bean location over the years and it's consistently great. While the parking seems to be on the smaller side, I've never had problems finding a spot in the lot or on the street. What sets this Coffee Bean apart from others is really the employees. Usually there's only one or two working but they're always friendly and work as fast as they can. I have a lot of respect for them especially when it's incredibly hot and they keep on working with a smile on their faces. If you want a Coffee Bean that's a little more spread out with fewer people, I highly recommend this location! read more
