Lamb Burger w/ caramelized onions and a fried (over hard) egg

I've worked downtown for 10 years and for some reason I have never visited this gem. They have an amazing menu but I decided to try the lamb burger w/ caramelized onion and a egg fried hard. For some reason I can no longer eat a burger without an egg on it. I really enjoyed the restaurant and. It's only about a 5 min walk from where I work. The staff was nice and welcoming. The restaurant is a bit small but it's clean and looked nice. I really enjoyed the lamb burger and also the fries were crispy and delicious as well. I think I'll go back tomorrow to try the whole fish.

Ran across this place randomly. Since there was construction going on around, you would only see this place if you were walking. No one was in the restaurant. They had my favorite Panna water so we were off to a great start. I ordered the traditional greek salad. Straight forward, no complaints. I then had the lamb burger with carmelized onions and fries. Burger was good, fries not so much. I havent went to any greek restaurant that served good fries. Overall I would definitely cone back. Staff was attentive and professional.

It is a small restaurant in downtown Miami that a lot of people from my office recommended but I had no idea it was going to be this good!! I'm a sauce girl but I didn't anticipate the sauce in the chicken gyro was going to be sooo amazing. Typically, one would find a tzaziki sauce in their gyro but this was cream based with some kind of spice, I want to say curry but I can't put my finger on it. Either way, I licked the paper in the end, lol no judgments PLEASE! It's a pretty decent size and I ate all of it including the fries. Btw, did you know that in Greece, they actually put fries in their gyro? I've never been but I always do it and it always takes me to a happy place. It's very clean and though busy, they were welcoming and attentive. I was even offered water as I waited for my food, which took less than 10 minutes by the way. I'm so happy I decided to try this place out, and I will be frequenting much more often!

This was my first time coming to Pega Grill. It will not be my last but I must say I will not put it past the staff to skimp me in the future as they did today. I ordered the meat gyro wrap with a side of shoe string fries. When I get there at the exact pick up time my food was ready but the young woman that was handing out orders had a difficult time figuring out if the order was mine (I ordered through yelp). I was able to confirm my order through my comments and additions to my order. My issue is that none of my additions or comments were applied. I asked for AND PAID for arugula instead of romaine lettuce. Yet I was given romaine. I also requested the onions on the side. As my picture illustrates, the onions were included. When I opened the bag to check my order I asked for ketchup and was told there was some in there. This is not a big deal but the amount of ketchup in the bag was equivalent to half a ketchup packet squeezed out into a little cup. So I definitely had to ask for more. I didn't open the wrap itself unfortunately though bc I was buying for my boss and didn't want heat to escape. So I didn't see the lettuce or onions. But I did ask that both additions were satisfied and was told they were. This is very disappointing. Little oversights like this make me feel like there are many others making me question if I should return. Aside from that, the food was good. Also, I would suggest poking holes in the containers for fried to ensure they don't get soggy.

When there's already a Greek place as awesome as Stoupsy's downtown, it's a gamble to open a competing place. But that's what Pega Grill has done, and so far, their bet is paying off. Fast service, tasty goods, and an efficient staff makes Pega Grill a welcome addition to the Downtown Miami dining scene. Their gyros come with fries, and while the portions aren't that big, you won't be hungry later. They have a handful of specials each day, so be sure to ask your server about them (though they're very good about telling you about them). I've had the beef & lamb gyro, the Greek salad, and the sampler platter of dips (hummus, tzaziki, taromasalata, and baba ganoush). Everything is fresh and delicious. The pita bread for scooping up the various dips comes out toasty and warm. The Greek salad is authentic, which means no lettuce, and a big hunk of feta cheese on top. The only downside about Pega Grill is that they refuse to split checks or accept more than 2 credit cards. Which is fine when you're going out lunching by yourself or with one other person. Unfortunately for Pega Grill, it means my coworkers and I don't eat there as often as we'd like.

Nice place in the downtown area for a quick bite. The place has seating outside and inside, outside on the street, outside in the mall's hallway and inside the restaurant. Seems like the place is visited by regulars, for pick up or eat in. I ordered a Gyro with beef and lamb, they just did not have only lamb. The gyro was so great, it had enough tzaziki, onions, beef, lamb... and I love the Gyro when it has a bit extra sauce!! The gyro came with a portion of french fries, they were crispy and freshly done. A bit salty, but they wre crunchy!!! I mentioned the saltiness of the french fries to the waitress that asked me how was everything, they would have been glad to change them for me!... next time!! they seem to be very customer service oriented! Would definitely go back some other time!!

Just came back from lunch at Pega Grill, and I have a full, happy tummy! My friend loves Greek food, and sometimes we'll grab lunch downtown on her days off. I'd walked by Pega tons of times going to and from work, so I suggested it for our girls lunch date. Service was fantastic, and they made sure we had everything we needed in a timely manner. The menu is small, but has just enough of a variety and some really great options. I order the chicken gyro with their Pega Grill sauce. It was incredible. All of the flavors balanced perfectly. It's served with fries that were pretty tasty and seasoned well. Like Eve C. said, the portions are not huge, but it's just right. I definitely felt full, and I feel like it was a great value for the money. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the baklava. I looooove baklava. At Stoupsy's just a few blocks away, it's incredible and huge for the price. Here at Pega Grill? Two bite sized squares for $4.95. Take off about 2 bucks and I'd be happy with it. Was it the best baklava? No, but it was pretty good, but overpriced for the amount served in combination with it not being stellar. Pega Grill has take out and delivery, so I'll probably end up getting lunch to go from here on days when I work through lunch at my desk...which is most days. Ugh, yay for me.

I finally tried Stoupsy's and now I can officially say that Pega Grill is probably one of the best, if not the best, Greek restaurant in Miami. I decided to come back on Saturday as my plan to try Little Lotus fell apart due to them not being open until 6 on Saturday. It was a few minutes before 4 and although they close at 4, they took us in without a problem. We ordered the dip platter, which contains hummus, tzatziki (one of the best I have had in South Florida), spicy feta dip, and baba ganouj (made with eggplant). It came with soft, warm pita bread in an unusual metallic bucket-like container and was delicious. Next up, was a meat gyro and a half baked chicken. The chicken was a good-sized portion with lemon oregano baked potatoes and a brown sauce on the side to pour over the chicken. The sauce was delicious, the chicken was moist and tender and had a lemon & rosemary glaze on the skin. Remarkably, the meat also had the flavor of rosemary, which was brought out even more by the brown sauce. I have no idea what that sauce contained but it was divine and the perfect accompaniment for the chicken. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and had a delicious oregano flavor to them. The meat gyro came with fries, which were crunchy, and the pita bread wrapped around the meat was thick, as it should be. Inside were generous strips of meat with lettuce and tomato. It was very tasty. For dessert, since we were rushed to eat, we were given almond cake and Greek cookies on the house. Both were excellent. I did take pictures of the meal, but my sweet tooth got the best of me and by the time I remembered that I had forgotten to take pictures of the dessert, I had already devoured half of it. The manager informed me that they will be delivering and opening for dinner in a week or 2, I think he said that on the weekdays they would stay open until 9:30, and Friday and Saturday until 11. I'm so happy knowing I can now get Greek food for dinner (assuming they will come out to the Midtown/Arsht area). Please, oh please deliver to me!

This is a difficult review because I'm from Queens NY and finding Greek food in Florida is a little off. I'm too hyper critical. This place is OK. I find a lot of meat to be overly charred and the spices are too strong. The Gyros are way salty for my taste but others may like it. I used to love their Chicken salad wrap but they are very heavy on the tarragon. Started to taste like I was eating a #2 pencil. Otherwise its a well liked place and always very busy. The place is always clean and they are always on top of your order so your never wondering where your food is. Just wish they would carry some more traditional pastries. read more

Pros: Excellent Greek food (honestly one of the best in downtown/brickell area); Very affordable; owner is dedicated and always there to accomodate you. Recommendations: Gyro (their fries are awesome) Cons: Closed evenings and weekends (they say they will start opening Saturday afternoons, but not sure they have yet). With a place this good, they really should open evenings...that's the only reason for giving it four stars instead of five. read more

Great to have another Greek restaurant in downtown Miami. I prefer the taste of the food at Stoupsy's (another Greek restaurant downtown which has been open for at least 10 years. Pros: Hummus, Greek salad with chicken (very fresh, tomatoes and cucumbers could have been cut a little smaller and more dressing, or oregano or flavor added to dressing or oil and vinegar, but overall good). Available seating inside and out. Waiter (Brazilian guy) was very nice and attentive. Cons: Falafel: Seemed fresh and generous portion, but awful aftertaste. Lunch partner had the same opinion read more

I had a falafel salad that made my week. My server CHRISTINA, I believe she was Colombian, super sweet, super helpful, catered to my specific diet which could be annoying to 80% of the population but she was just awesome. I love Mediterranean food to begin with but the food at Pega was great. My waitress Christina, great. The ambience, great. Definitely stop at this little piece of greek heaven and try it out next time you're in downtown! read more

I was really disappointed by this place. I wanted to enjoy it, I really did, but the only thing that redeemed my meal were the French fries. Not to say the meal was bad, it just wasn't good. Service aside, the whole experience was pretty mediocre. There's another Greek place a couple blocks away that's 10x better, I'd recommend stopping there. Doubt that I'll be returning to this location. read more

Have eaten here more then a half dozen times, but perhaps no more. The food is inconsistent. Some days ok some days not so ok. The prices a tad high for lunch; a falafel wrap is $9.99. A recent experience convinced me to eat elsewhere. Our lunches took about 35 minutes to arrive. Once they were dellivered, no wait staff came to check on the food which was a problem as the wrap had been grilled dry and was burnt black in places. I had requested an ingredient not to be on the food and the wrap was stuffed with it. The food was uneaten and after 20 minutes wait staff came by, and were informed about the food and the response was ok, here's your check. Really? I think I will find another greek place downtown. Pega Grill is inconsistent at best. read more

Kudos to me for giving this place a second chance. And kudos to them for not messing it up. Today I had the pleasure of trying their Greek burger with feta and tzatziki sauce which was SCRUMTIOUS and massive. After ordering it medium it did still take about 25 minutes but it was well worth the wait and definitely worth the walk back to this little growing gem. read more

Be careful when paying with a credit/debit card! Placed order by phone and picked it up 15 minutes after. Paid with my credit/debit card and found out 2 days later that they added "a tip" to total!!! I'm not coming back to this restaurant. It is a shame that there are dishonest people working at a place I used to like eating at. read more

Worst service I've ever experienced......EVER! Took 20 minutes to get water and over an hour to get Hummus dip. The table was unsteady and they wouldn't move us to another table. Definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Just not worth the wait. So many better places with better service in the area. read more

After walking by it so many times, I finally tried this new Greek spot for lunch. My friend and I both ordered the chicken gyro and it was delicious. The chicken gyro comes with a mustard dill sauce that is really good. However, they get one less star because they would not sub the fries that come with the gyro. We asked for a side salad or other side dish but the server said they would not change it, not even for a surcharge, so we asked them not to bring out the fries. I would have appreciated an effort to try to please us somehow, or knock $1 or 2 off the bill since we did not ask for the fries. Overall, the food was very good and I will be back to sample some of their other dishes. read more

I love this place. I used to eat here for lunch everyday when I worked in Downtown. Its this cute small Greek place with excellent food. I always order the same thing...Grilled Chicken Kebab's with Lemon potatoes. The lemon potatoes are excellent. I could eat 5 plates! Honestly great place for lunch or on the go. Love it! read more

This was my first and last time ordering from here. I walked and ordered a beef/lamb gyro no onions extra tzaziki on the side which came to 12 bucks. I was a little surprised but it is what it is. Ok, the gyro itself was disappointing with thick hard pieces of meat and it was very salty, the lettuce was wilted and tomato was soggy. The tzaziki sauce was delicious and the only reason I am giving Pega 2 stars. There was confusion in handing me my to go order and no utensils as well. I expected to get what I paid for and was disappointed. read more

I've had their hummus (hard to screw that up, but still, love the stuff), salads with chicken and gyro meet (both awesome, the grilled chicken is better than expected) and a gyro wrap which came with some tasty, crispy fries. It's good. Go there. read more

Great spot for a lunch break for those who work downtown. I really enjoy their falafel and their hummus. They also make a really good dish (I can't remember the name) but it's a purée a lot like hummus, but made from a yellow pea. It's delicious and I haven't found this dish anywhere else. read more

Just finished my lunch (a late lunch, due to a late breakfast), but it was absolutely delicious. One of my friends was telling me to go here, then another person told me to go here, but I still hadn't gone yet. So today, I was talking to the security at my building telling them that I tried Little Lotus (around the corner) and it was delicious, so the security guard told me that I should try Pega Grill. Since I was unsure of what to eat, I took their advice and I was not disappointed. My lunch was delicious. The spicy feta dip caught my eye and good thing because it was absolutely delicious. Then, I tried to order the Tuesday special (the baked meatballs) not realizing it was Wednesday. They told me they were out, so I was temporarily disappointed until the server told me that I could order today's special, the Yemista. It was at that moment that it hit me, "it's Wednesday, not Tuesday, which makes perfect sense that they don't have Tuesday's special." So I ordered Wednesday's special (since it's Wednesday, makes more sense), the Yemista, which was a green pepper and a red tomatoe stuffed with seasoned rice and beef and it came with slices of lemon baked potatoes. I was a huge portion of food. I ate one slice of potatoe and the stuffed green pepper and was full. The other half of the potatoe and the stuffed tomato will be my dinner. Now I'm just wondering why I didn't try this place sooner with all the positive feedback I have heard from other people that work in the building with me. Two thumbs up and I will definitely be back! read more

The food is excellent, and the service is quick, but . . . keep your eyes open. Twice I have ordered the Greek salad and had it arrive with no black olives. When I pointed this out, they acted surprised and returned with the olives. But twice? Like I said, keep your eyes open and be sure you get what they promise on the menu. BTW, the appetizer plate is delicious and makes a good (largish) lunch for one. read more

This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Downtown Miami. The Lamb Gyro is the standout dish for me: the meat is juicy and flavorful, the ingredients are fresh, and the pita itself is delicious. The fries are crispy and fresh. If you like Greek food, or you've never tried it before, I recommend it, you won't be disappointed. read more

Absolutely great service going here today ! After dealing with some business in the jewelry plaza my dad and I decided to get a quick lunch and I can assure you it was a quick lunch. Although the restaurant itself may not be so big, the pace of the restaurant itself was busy. You had people sitting down and leaving every minute available. The food there was really mouth watering when I first saw the photos on the walls and whatnot. I may not be a very big greek person but, this food was delicious. I ordered something called the Chicken Gyro Wrap and it fulfilled my appetite! Once we sat down and ordered the food came out in maximum 5 minutes. The service that the employees introduced was phenomenal with the bright smiles and quick movement around the restaurant. Would recommend if you're out in the Miami area and just looking for something quick and tasty to eat, spent maximum 25-30 minutes there and left with a happy stomach. Kudos to this restaurant! read more

Monday three colleagues and I went to Pega Grill, a small Greek restaurant in the heart of Downtown Miami. I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken breast, my colleagues had a grilled salmon, a baked chicken (the daily special), and a gyro. There was a variety of healthy and delicious side dishes available. The food was extraordinary and the service was friendly and fast. I really liked the wide variety of healthy options. This was our first time eating here but my colleagues all agree we will be back frequently. I am also considering engaging them to cater an office lunch meeting. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Claudia R.

When I was 6 years old, I joined my aunt's business as a children entertainer. I learned to dance, sing and to perform for kids' birthday parties. Soon I realized I really like it, and I was good at it. I was a shy girl, but for some reason, I wasn't afraid during showtime. I believe that this childhood experience helped me overcome fear to try new things. I opened my first company soon after immigrating to the US. I barely spoke English, but I translated my whole Spanish show and I memorized it! Language wasn't going to be a barrier. I recall performing as a clown in a First Communion gathering; kids were laughing and telling me that I was a funny clown. When the party was over, I realized I was saying "First Community" during the whole party instead of First Communion! I am Claudia Romero owner of Pega Grill in Downtown Miami. I am not afraid of change. I am looking forward to it because I am a strong believer that change only brings good things.

Did the order through DoorDash and received it much quicker than expected. The falafel was exceptional. Shaped a little bit strangely because they overloaded the scooper to give you more, it was expertly seasoned, freshly made, and delicious. Definitely within my top three in Miami and being right near my home will sit at number one on my list. The fact that they were able to get the order out to DoorDash and arrive at my home still warm, gets it extra points. But the delicious flavor, crunchy on the outside soft on the inside, and even a delightful aroma was really overwhelming. Paid for six got seven! Recently paid for five elsewhere and got four. Again extra points for a wonderful portion. But then look at what is surrounding it. Excellent smoky flavored eggplant. Delicious lentils and rice. Exceptional hummus. Fresh pita. Not a fan of tabouli to begin with so I won't comment except to say it was as good as it gets. Overall, I loved everything on the plate and loved everything about it. Came here for lunch one day with my wife. She had a falafel sandwich which I didn't take note of as I should have because I was so overwhelmed by my delicious lamb Shawarma platter. Again with all the best sides and the baba ghanoush was as good as any I've ever had. But the lamb was so moist and savory and tasty. I've gotta say that their attention to flavor is evident in everything that they serve. And then my other visit. This one was breakfast. Boarded my puppy last night so that my wife and I could have a romantic evening out for her birthday and picked her up this morning and wanted to take her for breakfast. Was thrilled to see that pesto Café and Grill as outside seating. I ordered the lox omelette and a side of bacon. I had coffee and they brought her a nice bowl of water. It does not come with a bagel so there is an up charge which I found mildly annoying but I wanted to try the full experience so I ordered anyway. It also comes with hashbrowns, which I wasn't particularly interested in, but it came with the meal. They make their lox omelette with onions and capers, and I noticed some green onions as well. They also use cream cheese, which I'm not generally a fan of. Since moving to Miami, I see way too much cream cheese being used in way too many ways. What is with this Miami obsession with cream cheese? Some places even put it in my sushi. Blasphemy. Oh but that's not part of this review perfect; for this review I am going to reverse everything I isually say about cream cheese because the flavorful way that they blend this imtoy the omelette as a condiment and not something that overpowers the other flavors was spectacular. I could not enjoy it more. The bacon was a huge order and was cooked perfectly. I hate sloppy greasy bacon. It was as if they knew exactly how I would want it served. Or maybe they just have good taste and serve it like how I like it. My waitress, Kayla was exceptional as well. But the service did not end there. Multiple people from inside came out periodically to make sure that I was happy outside and had everything I needed; that my coffee was full, and my water glass was filled and my table was cleared to unused dishes. They even made sure my dog had water and kept an eye on her water bowl so that it did not get too empty. Who does this? I'll tell you, they do. Eat here I know you will get great food made from the best ingredients and cooked perfectly and served treating you like they you as a customer. Even after I paid, they continued to come outside and make sure I didn't need anything else and fill my coffee without pushing me to leave and allowing me to enjoy my wonderful breakfast. And then to relax and enjoy the beautiful day out in front of their restaurant and be pampered. I didn't just feel like they cared, I realized that they really do. I will be back. Often. We booked a 6:30 PM reservation so we could grab a happy hour drink before hand. I think the cocktails at the happy hour bar are different from the regular menu. I had an apricot gin cocktail that I didn't love, but was decent and a slow slipper and my husband had a campari cocktail that is great if you like campari. For dinner, I spotted the table next to us dining on the rolls and Caesar salad and decided I wanted both. The server mentioned that salad is one of their most popular. The rolls were light and fluffy, and very large with sweet and savory honey butter. The Caesar salad was good. It comes out as large leafs of romaine, which is a nice presentation but I do think that leads to breadcrumb and dressing distribution being uneven. It was a very good salad dressing though, not too tart or heavy but still creamy and zesty. For our entrees we had the cavatelli with duck ragu which was my favorite. There were both crispy and tender elements to the duck and the pasta just melted in your mouth. We saved a tiny bit of it to take home because we couldn't stop nibbling on it, and it was great the next day too. They brought our steak out after our pasta. We should have specified we wanted them at the same time. By the time our steak arrived we were pretty full. The steak was served tender and juicy. We got the Prime Hanger. I appreciated that the server mentioned their two less expensive cuts were very popular instead of trying to upsell us on their pricier options, as we were very happy with this option. We had some steak leftover as well which was delicious the next day too. As it was perfectly medium rare, we were able to heat it up on a skillet without it overcooking much. We ordered the Bernaise sauce with our steak, but it was not necessary and I probably would have skipped it. Service was good and pretty efficient. They made sure to check on us frequently but the meal was good without any additions. I don't remember if when booking I requested an outdoor table but their patio is quite hot in summer. I think they need some outdoor fans to help with the heat as I was shvitzing a bit. If I were to visit again in the summer I would make sure to specify the need for an indoor table, but I'm sure it's lovely in the winter months. There was also the occasionally fly near our food which did kill the mood a bit and some table fans might help with. There is a gravel parking lot next to the restaurant. When we arrived there was only one spot available so it does fill up.

My friend Lena is Greek and through her I've discovered Greek and Mediterranean food and really like the way it tastes so fresh. She recommended Pega one day when we were debating what to do for lunch, and I wondered if they were online, so since I've been using Eat24Hours.com regularly, I looked them up and found them! I love falafels, and ordered mine, but forgot to get extra tahini sauce. So I contacted Eat24Hours.com when my order arrived the extra sauce was "magically" there. What great service! read more

The Pega Grill is a nice place to lunch in Downtown, I'm always going there for the Greek Burger because it's Excellent! I'm not aware about the rest of the menu but this burger is so good! I love being outside, it's sunny, and you can enjoy your break in the middle of Downtown's activity. The Owner and all the employees are nice and helpful. To finish it's not that expensive for a good burger. read more

First time here and I did not know what to order. I asked the gal and she told me about the most popular lunch was the steak salteado. It was very good and the sides were delicious too. The place is great for lunch because it is a block from my office and the treat us well there too. I am looking forward to trying other items there. read more
