Apparently this location has changed their procedure on making sandwiches. Aside from the fact that the young lady running the register, really didn't seem to interested in being there, you now have to ask for the stuff that is supposed to be on the sandwich. They list, on the menu board, onions tomatoes, etc. but now they have added "Your Choice". EVERY other Penn Station I have been to just makes the sandwich with what's listed. If you don't want something, THEN you make your preferences known. This seems like a weird cost cutting effort. Well, I won't be going to this location anymore, if this is new status quo them. I love Penn Station subs and I have never been disappointed at this location. It was good when it first opened over 20 years ago and it continues to deliver good food with good service. I like Penn Station but this location gets a egg. I had bad experiences there in the past and avoided going there for years. I recently went there and placed an order for a chicken teriyaki sandwich with extra meat. That is all i got. I had them go back and add mushrooms and onions. I asked why they served like that or why they didnt ask like othwr penn stations and they gave me a stupid response. Also the french fries were small hard pieces. I didnt open it until i got home. How did i know no mushrooms and onions? It was on the receipt. Go to Beechmont or Milford. read more

I came into this restaurant at 7:50 the man at the resister was so rude !! He made it point to tell customers he closes soon and very clear he hates his job worst experience in my life !! you guys defied could use some customer service skills !! I came here late evening to grab a quick dinner on the way home. It was fairly busy, but they seemed to have lots of hard working staff so being that it is made to order, things came out fairly quickly. I opted for the monthly special of the Italian, grilled, with fries and a lemonade. This is the only place I have found that seems to have a genuine Italian sub. I love their fresh squeezed lemonade. Their fries are ok. Everything was perfectly done and tasty. I also like the philly cheesesteak and grilled artichoke with added chicken. If you have a sweet tooth they have delicious chocolate chip cookies. This location is clean and has plenty of seating even at busy times. Great option for a quick meal. read more

One of the better Penn Station locations that we go it. Fast friendly service. Huge seating area that seems to be well kept after. The food here is on par with other locations..meaning excellent. My favorite sandwich here is the Italian. I can honestly say Penn Station serves the best Italian sub I have ever had..anywhere. Beyond being better than all other chain sub restaurants, I've honestly never had a better one at any deli..even at the best deli's on the east coast. It's so good that it has prevented me from trying any other sub here. In my mind none of them will be able to compete with the Italian, and I will just regret not getting one afterwards. I guess the only downside to Penn Station in general is that you really can't have it on too much of a regular basis. It's just too greasy. Sometimes after eating it I feel like I'm having heart palpitations. But it is delicious..and once every couple of weeks it really REALLY hits the spot. read more

Wow I would like to say how disappointed I am in this location. Allowing high school and college age people to run this place the way it is and treat customers the way they do here baffles me. Haven't had the experience at other Penn Stations but appears to be this one thus far. Trying to enforce COVID protocols while employees and managers themselves are not following the protocols they're asking customers to follow is mind boggling. No gloves, masks over chins instead of nose and mouth, no sanitation between customers. Why bother posting all these signs and trying to have customers follow "rules" when they themselves won't even follow? read more

Shoutout to Andrew B. for inspiring this review of my local Penn Station. This spot is one of our favorite places to head for a cheat meal but we don't go as often as we like because it is higher priced and SUPER filing and heavy (we also consider it to be a winter food so we only eat it in the colder months LOL). Now I can't speak much for the entire menu because I've been getting the same thing every time I go here for seriously ever.. 8-inch italian with no onions or peppers. I never have FOMO because this grilled sandwich is where it is at! Oh and you can't forget a side of those fresh cut fries because these are THE BEST FRIES OUT THERE. No joke. The only downside and loss of star is the wait time. Either if you order inside or ordering over the phone to come in and pick up, you always end up waiting. But aside from that, if you haven't or don't have a Penn Station in your area (or just haven't had it before) GET THERE. Order the fries. Check out the sub of the month but I of course recommend the italian grilled. They do have cold subs too now if they suits your fancy but grilled it again what I recommend. Penn Station specializes in what's called East Coast subs. Honestly I have no idea what differentiates and East Coast sub from a West Coast sub. But I can't help but wonder if the two sides are engaged in a deadly turf war - Biggie/Tupac style. I wonder how many poor, innocent Reubens, Clubs, and Philly Cheesesteaks have been lost due to the senseless violence as one side tries to dominate the other. But I digress. So Penn Station is somewhat of a fast food joint with a bit of a twist. First and foremost, everything is fresh. From the ingredients on the sandwiches, to the fresh-cut French fries that are cooked to order, to the lemonade, which is freshly squeezed daily. Freshness is certainly a priority, which reflects on the quality of the food. I've eaten (or more accurately ordered to go) from this particular location on a number of occasions. Upon entering, a quick look around reveals the typical fast food layout. A number of tables and booths, a fill-it-yourself drink station, and a few TV's on the wall for patrons to enjoy watching whatever happens to be on the tube. The serving line has a distinct deli feel to it, as you can see the fresh ingredients on display when you place your order. I've order most all of the sandwiches on this menu at one time or another. Of particular favorite would be the Italian (no ham), Philly Cheesesteak (quite impressive to be honest) and the Sausage. Staff has always been very personable and friendly. And the wait usually isn't that long, especially given that everything is being prepared fresh. There are a couple of downsides. Despite the fresh ingredients, man these subs are dripping with grease. Don't get me wrong, I completely buy into "the-greasier-the-tastier" notion, but there are limits. And this location pole vaults over it. Additionally the fries have never been well seasoned. I'm not exactly sure what spices or seasoning is supposed to be on the fries, but I know that I'm not tasting it. And lastly is the cost. Penn Station is a little more pricier than say a Subway. For a large sandwich you're dropping anywhere from ten to twelve bucks. Throw in some fries and a drink and you can easily spend close to twenty bucks. And that's just feeding one. No doubt the subs are tasty. I would have no problem going back, even if I don't do so on a regular basis. Mahalo, and enjoy. read more

I was just in the this location and ordered a sandwich... The guy that took my order had slimmy hair that was not in a hat or a hair net. I went to to the end of the line to pay for my sandwich and fries. The guy that took my money had long hair pulled back in a pony tail and had a hat on.. (should be wearing hair nets).. he had an open sore on his forehead and very very bad dry skin on his face. His clothes were filthy.. he took my money and proceeded to put orders together and had to customers.. A) he did not wash his hands between taking cash and handling food..B) I found what looks like to be blood on the piece of tape used to tape my receipt on my sandwich.. I have a picture. I will not ever ever eat there again.. I got back to my office and threw out my lunch after seeing the receipt. OMG!!! disgusting read more

There is really nothing wrong with Penn Station, and nothing wrong with this particular location. I will say that I prefer their grilled style sub, over something cold or "toasted" like Subway. The prices are pretty average, and the selection is kind of slim. The fries are much better than your standard fast food fare. read more

They forgot to bag one of our sandwiches in our order. We called the manager when we got home and realized it was missing. They apologized and took my info and said would mail us a gift card for our order in 2-3 days. Called about ten days later when I didn't receive it. They apologized again, took my info again and said we should receive it soon. It's been ten days since then and still nothing. Poor customer service. read more

I like Penn Station but have not had good experiences at this location. It needs to be managed better.

I ordered subs from the Eastgate location Friday, and they were very good. However, I was shocked to notice that none of the workers wore gloves when making the food, which is bad enough. But the male employee who was taking orders punched in the info on the machine, and then turned around and made sandwiches with those germy hands. I may be particular, but Subway and Jersey Mike's have people to punch in orders and people to make the food. No one touches the food AND the register. Need to work on that! read more
