I tried to buy a tire there. The salesman, Tario, automatically tried to charge me for balancing the tire and a new valve stem. I told him to take them off the order, and he said he wouldn't because he "didn't want to get in trouble". I argued with him for about 5 minutes. I told the manager, then I left. Made an appointment for 8 am online on july 5 2015 and when i showed up the shop was closed. I needed an oil change and tire rotation. I went elsewhere and got the oil change and when i returned they said they opened at 9 not 8. They also said i had a nail in my tire but didnt show me where it was. I thought i was getting a free tire rotation because im a rewards member but they said i only get half off and its not free anymore. Then i noticed the tires werent even rotated after they said it was done, the reason i know they werent is because the bad front hub cab was still in the front as oppose to the back. When they confronted mechanic who worked on it he confirmed he didnt do it because it wasnt on the paperwork. But it was on there so he had to pull the car back in and actually do it. I wouldnt let these people instal an air freshener in my car! They are the McDonalds of auto repair. I took my car there one because it was overheating like crazy. This was back when I knew nothing about cars, thanks to Pepboys I took the time to learn about cars and how to fix small problems. Anyways, it was overheating and they quoted me $3000 because the valves were bent and then needed to replace the upper block. While that was true, i just needed the overheating problem fixed. Well the said thats what I had to do in order to have it fixed. I said "Bullshit". I found a nearby, trustworthy mechanic, all that needed to be replaced was that radiator cap for $20. Also, I ended getting my valves and upper block rebuilt there for half the price than pep boys ($1600). I hope the mechanic garage closes down over there, they should just sell parts like Autozone. read more

YOU couldn't make my appointment, having decided to leave for lunch moments before my arrival. I had no intention of hanging out for an extra hour or two while your technician was elsewhere. And then having the nerve to tell me I had to pay a $45 "diagnostic fee" just so you could repeat to me what I already told you needed to be done? I would give four or five stars for the store and the mostly friendly and helpful people inside but the mechanics outside get two stars. I bought some wiper blades and the sales people offered to install them for free which is a nice bonus but the mechanics were unhelpful and outright rude. They made me wait around for a procedure that takes literally 45 seconds. I had to go back inside and get one of the sales guys to come out and tell them to do it. It's no wonder these guys work at a chain garage. They'd never make it in a smaller private shop where they need to get repeat business. They have no sense of what customer service is. I may be a pain in their ass for my little job but I'll never come back for bigger stuff. I have a fleet of 8 vehicles that they just lost and hopefully some of you readers. read more

I came in for a battery change & was in and out within an hour which wasn't horrible based on other reviews. I did have to wait at the service desk for a while before someone would talk to me, even though the two guys were typing stuff up on the computer.... they just didn't seem like they were in too much of a rush to get moving. They said my tire is not good to be repaired, and they charge a tire for a Toyota Yaris twice a tire that you can buy on the other stores around. I don't recommend this shop specially because it takes forever you get your car back! I had to get an Uber to go home, and get another Uber to get back to the store after 4 hours for a tire patch that comes to tire change. After having bad experience with them, I tried the other Pepboys close to Burbank Blvd, and they were very helpful. read more

They didn't put the air filter back on correctly and when I called them back they basically said "whoops". I wish this was the first issue I had with them but for some reason I went back after they put the wrong break pads on my car. Who is working here? Is there a ZERO star option? Went yesterday for oil change, woke up to my car leaking oil everywhere. Called AAA, only to find that the PEP BOYS mechanics gave me a USED oil filter with the OIL DRAIN PLUG completely loose. The AAA mechanic even scolded me for going to a Pep Boys. What does that tell you. I could have it towed there for free, but why bother. They should give me a full refund but it is not worth the time. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. They have 2.5 stars for a reason. It's true. This store sucks in customer service. I made an online appointment for oil change which guarantees 30 mins with 5 qt of oil and tire rotation. I was in the shop minutes before my appointment. Jack the service rep sounds so LAZY, maybe because they just opened the doors? Anyway, he said my car needs 7 qt and will take 1 hour. What? just 2 additional qt and it will take additional 30 mins? He explained because of the tire rotation. What again? Your online promise is 30 mins for 5qt with tire rotation! Hiya Gang, I can't give a thorough review of Pep Boys, because I've used them for minor repairs. But my experiences have been positive. A recently popped tire was quickly addressed by Josh. Though he gave me the sad news that the tire couldn't be saved for full use, he repaired it to use as a spare and put my new tire on quickly. It was the end of the night and he couldn't have been more courteous. In the past, they have replaced bulbs for me with similarly positive and efficient experience. Pep Boys used to be my go to place for decent prices on auto parts and supplies,But recently I've noticed how over priced their automotive oil and car batteries had become! So now I'm paying close attention to all their pricing of products there.I went into the service area a while back for a set of tires. I waited over an hour, and decided to leave.Only when I asked for my car keys back did they respond and try to put my car in the service area! I am always wary of corporate-owned auto repair places but I had no choice...noticed my low tire pressure light was on, discovered a big fat nail in one tire and Pep Boys is the closest joint to my house....so i rolled on in and in 15 minutes time I had a patched tire at NO COST. That's right, the very helpful service supervisor signed me up for the Pep Boys rewards program that gives you a free flat repair and i walked out a happy camper, i'll definitely go back. My only complaint - the "guy talk" some of the other employees were having was a little much for 8:15AM for my taste. read more

I was there today for a brake fluid exchange. I made an online appointment and reached there 15 minutes before my appointment time. I was told that my car would be ready in 2 hours. When I was back, my car was still sitting where I left it. The service advisor Steven Guy was apologetic and mentioned about some issues in the car before mine, that took more time than anticipated. Steven then got my car going and also compensated for the extra wait time in the final bill. Overall I'm happy about this place. read more

You definitely get the service you pay for. I had a nail in my tire removed which cost $10 which is a pretty standard price but I figured take it to a bigger name place for the heck of it. Made an appointment with their online system, get there, they tell me it's a 2 hour wait. So I come back the next day. Still take 2 hours. Next perk is that the staff was trying to convince me I had runflat tires which can't be repaired. I know for a fact they weren't runflat so I looked them up online and showed the guy. I went there for a bulb for my signal. The next thing I see is my car up on the lift. They call me into the bay area to show me that my tire has a nail and a crack in it. The mechanic was twisting a screwdriver in the "crack" making it bigger and bigger. And tried to sell me new tires. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH MY TIRES WHEN I WENT IN THERE. I've since gone to the Pep Boys on Ventura Blvd in Studio City (for the same reason) and they were very nice and did not try to sell me on anything else. One word to describe this place - sketchy! Prior to coming in I phoned and was told that they could change out a light bulb for me in 15 minutes. Ahhh--no. One hour wait. Another woman was there for the same reason and was waiting for half an hour. It's fine, but be honest about it before someone comes in. I then go to my car, which they didn't move since it was only a light bulb change, and I find the sunroof open. I never use my sunroof so 100 percent positive it was the mechanic who worked on my car. Now for a light bulb change there is absolutely no reason to touch the sunroof. My seat was also adjusted, and it looks like my glove compartment was opened, since there was something sticking out that wasn't before. I have no idea what this guy did in my car or if he was stealing documents or taking photos with his cellphone, but i'm concerned. I called and the guy at the service desk said they'll check their camera and would not let me speak to a supervisor. Anyhow, I would avoid this place even in an emergency. Horrible! read more

Just experienced some awesome customer service by Ben at this location. He was very helpful in getting the burnt out taillight on my Prius changed. He actually offered to do it for me if I went in and bought the bulb from the store inside. It's these extra steps in customer service that keep me coming back here. These guys scored big points with me today. I had what I thought was an alignment issue, due to the car pulling to the right, and Artur came out to inspect it. He told me to leave it and he would call us when it was finished. He called us back in less than an hour and told us that the one tire was probably overinflated causing some wear and the pull. He actually looked at the alignment and didn't try to sell us tires or cheat us at all. He just said to come get the car and there was no charge. I made sure to tell him and another man working there that is how you treat customers. I hope Artur gets some kudos or a bonus or something. He deserves it and represents the company well. read more

This is the worse place to get tires or service done!! Stay away! The service dept has the worse employee's. I took my car in for a service at 6:00p and the service rep i think his name was martin promised my car would be done by 9:30 i needed my brake pads replaced since i was going on a long drive 6 hrs away. Knowing it was a long wait i went home when i called back to check on my car at 7:30 they said that it hadn't been looked at yet. Then i come back to pep boys at 8:30 and my car was still sitting where i left it. I complained to the service mgr and he said someone shouldve called you. I said no one called me, he implied that i needed to leave it overnight... Which I was not going to do! So I just took my car to another tire shop. What a waste of my time...
