We all know car failures happen when you least expect them.... well for me I was on the 5fwy, traffic jam AND at 6pm... yeah when most ALL shops are closed for the day... not to mention I was 25miles away from home! instantly PEPBOYS came to mind, called their tow truck service and they brought me to this Olive st location. they've done SO much great work on my car I was very confident they would help me out, not this day tho (it was 7:30pm by the time I arrived) and my serpentine tensioner had locked ripping my belt apart, which I figured wasn't a 10 minute job. Vicente (the service manager) Sammy (one of the best technicians ive ever met) and the retail manager ALL went waaaaay above and beyond to help me out. I was looking for a hail mary but knew it be impossible to leave home that night.... well these guys delivered and not only delivered but taught me a real good lesson.... it is better to get the job done right the first time than pay double to fix it right! while they were getting my car up and running they discovered so many miscues another local "mechanic" had done 2 days ago! ( the steering pump and tensioner were replaced then) ...yes I was pissed BUT it further implanted the seed in my mind that PEPBOYS really does know what they're doing not only by hiring PROFESSIONAL techs/managers but also by giving you that 1on1 trust and satisfaction we all want and need, cause we know car problems aren't stress free. don't second guess yourself, these guys really do know what they're doing! I am very glad to have come acrossed this great team they have at this store and I will definitely put them on top of my list next time my car starts acting up. thanks again guys for all your great effort! you've won a customer for life! read more

Oh my, let me warn you all. Had my daughter come here this past week & she said gentlemen in the front told her she would have to wait few hours. Worse part of it all , the shop was empty. This explains why they are running out of business. Delt with garson for years never had any issues. Can someone properly train their staff. My daughter also told me this guy was completely lost and had a bad attitude. I hope a corporate staff member reads this and starts to train new staff differently. Tried contacting service manager josue vasquez a few times and was unsuccessful my daughter was actually able to get a hold of a managers business card while the distracted employee wasted time chatting with his fellow employees. Pep boys has now lost my families business I would suggest properly training your service staff. & to your employee jesus let him know Mr. Mckenzie is very unhappy with the way he treated my daughter. All over a dead battery which auto zone took care of in a small period of time. The sacred name jesus doesn't reflect upon his personality. Feel free to contact me if any ?'s. Give these guys a try! As I was driving home from work, warning lights indicating a battery problem and all my doors were open (impossible given I was driving) came on, then turned off. Instead of going home, I drove to Pep Boys on Olive. It was a MONDAY. was told I could get an appointment for WEDNESDAY. I was stunned. As I began to express my concern about the possibility of being stranded, Brian, the manager, explained the employees who specialize in electrical problems were already tied up working on other cars. He asked if he could call another store to see if they could help me. Then he glanced past me, and asked me to give him time to check on something. He came back about a minute later and said he could take my car. I smirked and asked how was it that he couldn't take my car one minute prior, but suddenly could take it now. Turns out, what caught his attention was one of his tech/electrical guys coming in ON HIS DAY OFF to pick up his uniform. That guy, Mike, was willing to stay work on my car ON HIS DAY OFF. Did I have to wait? Yep! Did I end up with a huge bill at the end off the day? Nope! Mike did all the tests, concluded there was a loose connection. They showed me all the printout results, shook my hand and sent me on my way. I can't say all my experiences at this Pep Boys been this great, but I had to acknowledge Mike and Brian. I had been told by a few people NOT to go to Pep Boys in Burbank. So, this morning when my battery and terminals suddenly needed replaced (on a Sunday when shops are closed), where did I go? Autozone just down the street. However, Autozone wouldn't change my battery because they "didn't have enough people on staff until after noon". Then, told me that they wouldn't do it anyway, because I also needed the terminals replaced, and that was "too much work". Huh? So, I drove the car (left it running at every stop to make sure the battery didn't die again) another 20 minutes to Pep Boys on Olive Ave in Burbank because they were open. Well, I'm GLAD I DID. Not only did the battery and terminals need replaced, but as soon as I popped the hood, we (myself and STEVE in the service dept) spotted a really bad leak at the top of my radiator! Steve, Mario, and the other service guys who installed everything were terrific. Steve helped me every way he ethically could to make sure I could financially get this done immediately. I can honestly say, this was probably the absolute best customer service I've ever received. I'm not sure when my friends had gone there, or who they dealt with when they had a bad experience, but my case was not like theirs. So, if you need to go to Pep Boys on Olive Ave, ask for Steve or Mario. Most importantly, BE NICE TO THEM! Don't be one of "those" dick customers. read more

This place is run by a bunch of vulture, money laundering hooligans who will try to take advantage of you just to get money out of you. All the technicians treated me disrespectfully with the exception of one of the female technicians. They have talked down to me. I've received calls from the technicians threatening to tow my vehicle immediately if I don't pay or that they will start incurring storage fees on my car when they never did when I went there and did. This was all just a ploy to try to get me to pay them faster. The store itself is run down, and don't listen to their estimated time that they plan to have your car ready because they won't call you back. You have to call them back. They say they will check your vehicle, and you come back at the end of the day and they have not touched it at all. This is arguably the worst auto repair shop I have ever been to. There is another Pep Boys close by that probably can give you better service than this one. Also, don't use Pep Boy's towing system, because the people they hired to tow my car to that location was a dumbass who was blasting Lil' Wayne on the stereo babbling incoherently at me. read more

The guys and gals here always take care of my needs. I don't understand why people have experienced bad service. Maybe you should call me when you decide to bring in your vehicle. i've taken about 4 domestic pickup trucks and 2 SUVs for oil changes and tire replacements and for the simple things a Mercedes and a BMW even though I would recommend the Mercedes and BMW to specialists for more intense and complex repair. Even though they have gone through management changes it has not affected the quality of my repairs. They have a club that you can join which gives discounts on your future purchases. I recommend joining, just ask the sales clerk. It is a known fact that repair centers in general, not all of them, I'm talking about other repair garages, will take advantage of a female customer because she does not know her way around cars. I recommend taking your husband, boyfriend, brother or your once in awhile lover, that knows a bit about cars, to go with you. I used to fix and restore cars so I know the questions to ask. Firstly, I am a senior woman who is intimidated by the prospect of finding a good, honest and reliable auto mechanic that I can afford. I had the best experience at Pep Boys in Burbank on 254 W. Olive St! I went to the store, Jesus helped me with an estimate and an appointment and was courteous and most helpful. On Thursday, I arrived for my appointment.and discussed what services I needed with the manager, Artur who was extremely professional and patient with me expressing my concerns about affordability. Gonsalvo checked my car and advised my of the parts that were needed so that my Mazda would be safe and in good working order. Gonsalvo did an excellent job on my tires, brakes and struts, etc. When it came time to check out, Jack handled receipt and I got a Pep Boys Rewards card too! I feel safe, I saved money and was treated well. I will be returning to the Burbank Pep Boys on Olive for all my vehicle needs! do not come to this place! i brought my wifes vehicle here for regular maintenance since it has always been alot cheaper than the dealer. i always delt with alex and garson. it had been a while since we actually came here. i have to give such low rating due to service we received while bringing car in . the guy at the front counter by the name jesus was very rude . situation got worse when he gave us bullcrap explanations on things the van needed. i am very car knowledgeable and most of the things he explained made no sense. it seems to be worse than a dealership around here. and when we told him we didnt want anything done he rolled his eyes and scram out the door to pull our van out. gave me a paper and sent me on my way to the cashier. very unsatisfied with this. cashier actually smiled and was a little friendly. i will never return to pep boys for any service. the oil on the van was not filled all the way. very upsetting situation. read more

Needed an oil change and tire rotation. Received a coupon from Pep Boys in the mail...oil change and tire rotation for $21.99...PERFECT! Walk into Pep Boys to have my service done... - Told by the clerk that the oil filter my car needs is not covered by the coupon...additional $3. Strike 1. - Told by the clerk that my car needs 6 quarts of oil and the coupon only covers 5 quarts...additional $9. Strike 2. - Kept me waiting for 15 minutes AFTER my car was finished being serviced cuz they decided to park another car behind mine and start working on it. A LOT MORE THAN A STRIKE...MASSIVE EPIC FAIL! The mechanic even had the nerve to tell me he was almost done with the car behind mine as I stared in disbelief. I would have been kept waiting a lot longer than 15 minutes if I hadn't complained to the service manager. The service at Pep Boys on Olive in Burbank, California, is highly disappointing; it's so poor it merits negative ratings. The manager, Andy, was not only rude but also exhibited an extremely unpleasant demeanor. He shockingly raised his voice at my wife when she took our car for tire replacement. I reached out to him and he assured me he would apologize to my wife for his behavior. However, when my wife returned the next day to get our car, Andy missed the chance to demonstrate good customer service -- let alone apologize -- by further indulging in his offensive attitude. It's alarming to find such a person in a managerial position, someone with little common sense or regard for customer service. Pep Boys should seriously consider this. They answered all my concerns and guided on how to fix my car problems. Being that it was my 1st time there I was feeling outta place. However Francisco on the sales floor took care of all my needs in a kindly professional manner. These guys are RIP OFF Artists! My car was over heating, so I figured I'd take it into a 'reputable' company. Well, what a disapointment. The gave me a quote for $483.00 to replace all kinds of parts, waterpump, hoses, radiator pressure tank, thermostat, plus a radiator pressure test for another $79. I took it to another place for a second opinion, and it turned out it was just my thermostat being stuck, a $25 problem. I did however purchase the part at Pepboys, which they did have in stock. Pep Boys is seriously such a rip off. The place didn't get less then two stars for no reason. First of all, sometimes/most of the time they give you bunk parts that don't really last. Secondly, the cost of their "service" is quite a bit overpriced compared to any other auto shop. And lastly, they try and rip you off by doing other work on the car that isn't necessary. I was in and out in about 30 minutes, didn't get the normal upsell pressure that normally makes the idea of taking my car in for anything cringeworthy, and paid a fair price for two tires, which replaced a front pair so bald they made Mr. Clean look positively hirsute.
