I had a very frustrating experience at Pep Boys and won't be coming back. I originally missed my appointment by a little bit, and instead of being flexible, they made me reschedule it for 3 days later. When I came back for my rescheduled appointment, I arrived early around 3:10 PM because I was told that if I came in early they might be able to get me done sooner. I had things going on, so I tried to make it work. Even though my appointment was scheduled for 5:00 PM, I didn't get finished until 6:00 PM, which is way too long for a simple oil change. On top of that, this was just a basic oil change booked through my company as a free service. I had the confirmation on my phone and email, but they still claimed it wasn't in their system and delayed me further until they finally found it. We came in to get a trailer tire replaced. Upon entering the store the male employee immediately stated they don't carry spare tires. He was informed it was a trailer tire multiple times, he continued to argue instead of just looking at the tire size. He continued to state they don't carry the tire and walked off to assist the customer that arrived after us. The female employee came over and stated the same thing. At that time it was suggested that they take the information and check if they do carry the tire. She took the information and guess what! They do carry the tire, we were asked if we had an appointment. Clearly we did not if they would have taken the time to actually offer customer service they would have known this. As everyone knows. You MUST drive very slow. I had several cars cut me off and I was very anxious to get a new tire. I arrive to be told. You're here 10 minutes late. We took someone else. 1. No one called after I expressed I'll be driving slowly. 2. Never did Alex once state. We only wait 10 minutes. If she did. I would've left earlier. 3. My iPhone showed 3:11 when I arrived. My appointment was 3pm. I asked if they charged to put on my spare. Not offered and told to drive back today. That's a strong SOLID NO!! DO NOT BOTHER GOING HERE!! The reviews are all valid. I took my vehicle into the Pep Boys on Lake Mead due to the check engine light being on. They did an engine diagnostic, I discussed the needed repairs, I selected the repairs I wanted to get done today and 4 to 4 and a half hours later my vehicle was ready. They handed me the folded receipt and I left. Just opened the paperwork and found they charged me for any extended warranty that was never discussed with me and I never asked to get. I stopped in today to check on some information about my brakes. I have had my brakes previously repaired by Pep Boys at this location. The work was done well at that time. Yet the pricing I found a little high. When walking in to the establishment. Not one worker greeted me. I asked if I was in the right place for Pep Boys-and received attitude from Omar with my answer. Omar & the other employee that I didn't get his name. Never helped me. Acted like I wasn't even there as I stood at the counter quietly & patiently. After nearly 5 mins went by. I finally said something to the 3rd employee. I asked how come I have not been helped. As there was no one in the lobby. The 2 other employees acted like I wasn't there. His reply was that he thought I had already been helped. Even though he was there most of the time and just seen me standing there. I finally was assisted by this employee. Which honestly was a 5 star in itself. I would say that if you want decent to even good customer service. You may want to think about going somewhere. I recently had tires I purchased from another vendor installed at this Lakemead location. I had an appointment scheduled for 1 PM, but I ended up dropping the vehicle off around noon. I was told by Stuart, Service Manager, that my vehicle would be ready by 2:30 PM. I was having the tires installed, oil change, and brake bulb replaced. Around 2:30 PM, I called and spoke to Stuart and was told my vehicle would now be ready no later than 4:30 PM. So finally at 4:40 PM, I called again and Stuart told me my vehicle that my vehicle was just completed. However, they were unable to change my brake light bulb because Volkwasgen requires a "special tool" to remove the brake light housing. Further, Stuart stated, " that someone must have tried to change this before because all the screws are stripped." As a Service Manager, Stuart should have known that to change the bulb there is only one wingnut in the trunk holding the taillight housing unit to the vehicle. There are no screws and this was the first time I ever had this bulb replaced. So when I arrived to get the vehicle I spoke to Stuart and asked about the damage and he was completely rude and dismissive. I tried to explain the procedure to change the bulb, but Stuart would not listen. Stuart proceeded to tell me that he had no one there when the technician started working on my car and he was only an Oil & Lube guy with no knowledge of brakes lights. Stuart further added that that the technician gave it a "try." I would like to add this technician did not reset the oil change light or the TPM light on in the vehicle. We did record all this and since there was no speaking to Stuart we paid and left not knowing the damage done to the car or what screws he was talking about. Prior to leaving, we did ask Stuart why did it take almost 4 hours to fix my vehicle when we had an appointment at one. His reply was that is just to guarantee we fix your vehicle, but not when we see it. I also got this on video. The following day we did call the Corporate Office and spoke to the District Manager who appeared helpful. I agree to have them inspect the vehicle and take care of any damages. The following day we took the vehicle to the Ann Road Location and to have the bulb replaced. The technician removed both taillights to inspect for damage and it took only 5 minutes. We could not find the screws Stuart mention or the damage. We even checked the middle light on the rear deck. Based on previous reviews of this location, I would not recommend it. There is no customer service at this location. Further, since we could not find any damage or the imaginary screws, I do not even think they tried to fix the brake light bulb. If they are willing to lie about this then what else are they willing to lie about. read more

We've been to this location many times over several years. We typically find everything on our shopping list. When I've gone in, it's been clean and well organized and customer service friendly and efficient. It was remodeled about a year ago. PB stocks some items not found at competitors (and visa versa); which is why we're not loyal to any one specific auto parts store. Sometimes it does smell like automotive chemicals in this store. My spouse thinks it's on days when they leave the doors to the auto shop open and it drifts into the store. I had come late once, drove on a flat to get to this pep boys location. they told me it was too late, they couldn't service the car as they were close to closing. I understand that. they said their next available appointment was two days later at 3 pm. that's fine. i work during the day, but i took the appointment and thought i'd figure it out with my job. i drive my car and flat tire back home. then I go on their website and it says they offer sort of like an after hours service, where I can leave my keys in a lock box and the car can be serviced the next day with an appointment... and that they had appointments sooner than what she had quoted me. WOW it would've been really nice to have been told that! and not have to bring my car back! so that same night at 6 pm I book for the following day at 6:30, thinking they can work on the car the following day but at least it will be there and work with my work schedule. they call me the next day at almost 4 pm to tell me they close at 7 so to not bring it. then I was really frustrated as I had had the appointment all day and two hours before you tell me not to bring it, and don't offer another solution? I told the manager I was okay leaving it overnight and she said "okay that's fine see you then" and ended the call. I call back and and she had said something to the effect of "I was just telling you this on the last call". I understand not wanting to work late, no one wants to and i'm not the person who expects people to go out of their way. but it felt as though they just didn't want my business, had no understanding of my situation and turned out to be a huge waste of my time. Alex helped me out, not only was she helpful and friendly with me, she was also dealing with being the cashier, coordinating things with the mechanics, answering an endlessly ringing phone, and helping multiple customers. Never coming here again. Came in for an oil change and was told it would be an hour and half. Two hours later, the guy unapologetically said that "it's still waiting to be looked at." I told him that I can't wait any longer and needed the keys. He gave them to me and didn't even say "bye." This isn't the first time they've wasted my time, but let me guarantee you, it'll be the last. Previously, I came in for a warranty replacement for my battery and I spent the entire afternoon going to three different Pep Boys just to get it replaced. I was sent to a store across town only to find out, after waiting two hours, that they didn't even have it in stock. Thankfully, the third Pep Boys I went to had a man named Frankie who replaced it immediately and without objection. He's a very customer-forward person and actually went out of his way to help me. I can't imagine why he's working at Pep Boys if he's so concerned with helping customers when I've been treated like an inconvenience all other times. Thanks Frankie! Don't buy batteries here because AutoZone instead will change them under warranty in less than 15 minutes as opposed to this place which is +2 hours (if they can get you in at all and supposing they have your battery in stock which they didn't bother checking first as previously mentioned). Pep Boys has excellent customer service, a variety of products for all calls, and a quick turnaround time. Alex and Stuart made the experience great. I came to Pep Boys on a flat tire driving from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles. About a half hour outside of the city, we realize there was a nail in our tire put on the spare and needed a quick fix to get back on the road again. We initially went to discount tires who told us it would take an hour and a half, but after hour and a half, we called and they hadn't even started on our car. With Pep Boys right next-door, and significantly less traffic, we got right in and right out for the same price as discount tires. I'm glad we shed our cheap mentality because everybody else has that same cheap mentality and it honestly doesn't pay in the end. We'd probably still be waiting at discount tires, and now we're done and on the road. I highly recommend getting your tires service done here. After my last experience at Pep Boys, where the jerks made me wait forever before I got fed up and left, I was hesitant to come back in. But, man, I can't live with busted car. So, off I went into Pep Boys to see what they can do for me. The service here is, without a doubt, the best ever. Seriously. I could not imagine better customer service short of them giving me free stuff. It was great. I walked in, approached a guy working there, and asked him if they could test my battery for me. Sure, he said, just park up by the first bay. By the time I walked back out and pulled my truck in, they were waiting for me. They tested my vehicle, ensured my battery was dead, and quickly set me up with a new one. Total time spent from when I walked in to when I got back outside: 15 minutes. Seriously, it was the best. I spent the 15 minutes there walking around and looking at cool things for my truck, and I was approached by a few people asking me if I needed anything. No, but thank you for asking.
