4/26/2026 Good afternoon, I am writing to formally report an unprofessional and uncomfortable experience I had today at your Pep Boys location at 2207 East Main Street, Snellville, GA 30039. I arrived for my scheduled 3:00 PM oil change appointment, though I came an hour early prepared to wait. Upon entering, I was approached by a man in the waiting area who abruptly asked what service I needed. When I inquired if he worked there, he stated that he did not, but that he was "like a resident" there. I later learned his name was Robert Sphinx. I proceeded to the counter where Mr. Albert Tolle assisted me. He informed me that, due to a no-show, my vehicle could be serviced immediately, which I appreciated. After handing over my keys, I returned to the waiting area. While I was seated, Robert began speaking loudly and in a disruptive manner. Shortly after, I overheard him speaking with Mr. Tolle and others about placing a food order. During this interaction, I clearly heard him say multiple times, "You need to get her out of here," and specifically, "She's only getting an oil change." He then walked toward the service area and repeated similar statements to the technician working on my car. At that point, I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. I approached Mr. Tolle to express my concern and requested to pay in advance so I could leave as soon as my vehicle was ready. His response suggested he was unaware of what I had overheard, which added to my frustration. As a paying customer, I should not have been made to feel dismissed or spoken about in that manner--especially by someone who is not even an employee. I have visited this location several times in the past and chose it again despite passing other Pep Boys locations, based on my previous experiences. Unfortunately, this interaction was both disappointing and unacceptable. I am requesting that this matter be addressed, including clarification of this individual's presence and behavior within your establishment. You lost a customer. The front counter rep who I dealt with ended any chance of my doing business with this Peb Boys location. He argued with me over the meaning of "Next visit" for a 10% off coupon. At first I thought he was kidding but then he was jerking me around and just being an ass. I'm never going to be treated like that ever. So, until he is gone, I'll never go back. read more

(Tried another location only because I was in the area and in a rush.. big mistake! One of my tires became flat seconds after I hit a curb. I made it to Pep Boys just a few minutes before it closed. I thought they might tell me it is too late for them to work on my car just before closing. To my surprise, Richard DeJohnette, Pep Boys employee, told me that they could fix it now. I appreciated the fact that Richard was willing to work beyond closing time to service my car at the last minute. Also, he was professional and respectful in his interaction with me. Needed my tires replaced. Made an appointment for 8am. Arrived 8am and they had a few cars there they said they would handle it. Currently it's almost 3pm and they are still working on tire changing. I have never in my life had to wait this long to have tires changed. Terrible attitude from the customer service they do not care at all. Just keep stringing you along saying it's almost done every hour or so. Go to any other location. As I type this I've been waiting 3 hours for a headlight bulb replacement that I had an appointment for.

Went in at 9:30 am for a shock replacement and alignment. Asked if I could have my car back by 1:00pm. They checked with the tech and was told at the latest 2:00pm I go to the shop at 1:30 to check for the car. Was told the car will be done by the end of day. If I had known that in the beginning I would have never left my car with them and brought it to a shop who would not have lied to me about the ETA on the car. Went in for oil change with a fleet vehicle and fleet vehicles are supposed to go ahead of everyone but that's not the case here. I received a text saying me van would be ready approximately 2:00 which was 3 hours later and I stood here and watched them pull in other cars (not fleet) in the bays. This is bull$@!!. Bottom line they don't take fleet vehicles first. An hour later they did pull my van into an empty bay and one tech just finished on another car let's see if they work on mine or pull in another car. The whole time the older guy stood watching them he could have already completed the job. Great the one who just finished is going to work on mine. I guess 2 hours is ok. read more

It would be great to also be able to enter 0 stars. Pep Boys fixed a thermostat issue on my 2016 Dodge and in less than 2 months had to fix it again, however it was under warranty. This was the SAME day that I took the vehicle for a tune-up. I picked up the 'completed' vehicle and the check engine came on and the vehicle began sputtering which NEITHER was occurring before they took possession of the vehicle. I took it back within 10 min and they advised they would check and correct the issue. After picking it up a second time, they said it was their error and that they did not do the fuel flush correctly. The next day, the vehicle began sputtering and cutting off as there is a problem with the fuel injectors which THEY caused. I have taken the car back - where it is now - and I refuse to accept ownership until they correct the issue. I also called 1-800-Pepboys and they opened a case and have to to get back to me . When I spoke with the Store Manager Jake and asked him for his Manager's information so that I can escalate he refused and told me to call the 1800pepboys number. At this point I am ready to connect with others who have had these experiences and possibly assess opening a class action lawsuit. I've been a pep boys customer for years, using multiple locations across the country. I never had a problem til I started coming to this one. On my last few visits, the customer service guys talk to me and try to scare me into services or seem exasperated when I ask questions. I feel like they try to take advantage of me because I'm a single female. When I brought a man with me, the same customer service rep seemed a bit less exasperated. What's put the nail in the coffin is today I went to pick up my vehicle. When I dropped it off, I was quoted approximately $400. I understand that this could fluctuate. Upon pickup, it was $700! I asked them to confirm the services and what they did that cost that much more. It took two guys to realize one had added on a service, but forgot to take it off. The final cost was a little over $500, which is acceptable once you factor in tax and labor. They adjusted it, but had i not asked, I would have been charged $700!! That's a huge difference. Other complaints from other visits include them not telling me when my car was ready even when I was in their waiting room. I learned via email it was ready for pickup and saw the timestamp was several hours prior. While the work always seems to be fine, I won't be returning to pep boys. Terrible service and they lie. DO NOT GO THERE! Check engine light comes on for the first time ever and the car is having other issues. I came in, they give my an estimate for said issue and tires. Ok fine. On the sheet it had services I absolutely needed to fix my car and services they just recommend. At the time I didn't have much money, so I asked to make sure that I only needed the stuff they said was dire. They said I had to have it done to fix the car and the rest was just maintenance; naturally the more expensive service was the one I needed. So I got it and the tires done. I sat up there a good part of the day, then they told me it would be ready at 6pm. Came back, they're trying to order and go pick up a part. I sat there until almost midnight. Literally the same night the light comes back on while driving it less than 5 miles home. Take it back the next day, they swear it was supposed to be ok, said whatever it is I won't have to pay again because it's on them to fix it. They tweak something else and it drives ok for maybe a few days, then the light comes on again. Take it up there again - now the 3rd time - they say I need the other service done that was optional maintenance. When I tell them I was told I wouldn't have to pay anything, I'm told I should've gotten everything done. The mechanic was nice enough to do part of the service without charging me and said it should run fine now. About week later, the issues start again. Because I just want it fixed, I pay for them to do the full service. Again, it drives ok for a week or two, then the issues start again. Take the car up there this time and they tell me there's another slew of issues that'll cost over $500 to fix. When I ask where this issue was before and why I'm paying for it, I'm told that it just recently happened and they can't predict when a part will fail. So magically this failed part has the exact same symptoms as the issue that was supposedly resolved. Told them I'm not paying them anything else and haven't been back since. Lies on top of lies and I wouldn't be surprised if they were purposely sabotaging vehicles to keep business going since they're clearly not doing will. Now as for the employees: Meach the mechanic was nice and had no problem explaining stuff to me. I know he's likely just doing what he's told. Steven the manager was ok at first, but rude after he realized I wasn't going to keep paying for services. Albert the manager was just rude, rude, rude from the beginning. Very nasty attitude. He showed a lot of disdain for any woman that questioned charges. He did it to me and a woman at the counter while I was there. She demanded her car back and he treated her like she was crazy. read more

Beware having this location install and balance tires; thought I had a bad set of brand new tires as the front end of the car would vibrate at speeds 60 and above (a first for this car). Took car to another shop (East Stone Mountain Tire & Battery) upon a recommendation and they inform me all four tires are out of balance; the front set being the worst. Cost me $30.00 but the car runs super smooth now. Won't be using this Pep Boys to install and balance tires again; $48.00 wasted! read more

This is the worst customer service I've ever had anywhere! Bought brakes and rotors online, as they showed in stock at this location. Called a few hours later to confirm the order was ready. Spoke to the rudest person who said the order was ready. Got there two hours later to find out they didn't have all the parts. It did not get much better from there. The person in store had no care or concern to remedy this issue. It took a 30 minute call to their corporate office to get the staff on site to begin calling other stores in the area to find the part. It took two hours waiting at the store to find out we had to drive clear across town to another store to get the missing part as they could not deliver same day. Go someplace else for parts. I'd never get service here. The two hours waiting let me see all the customers that come back complaining about work they got done there. read more

I was taught by my father and brothers to not trust auto repair shops. They always get you to pay for more services than you need. Rarely does a good, reliable auto repair shop tells you what you need and treat you like their own family member. I found that place and it's Just Brakes in Snellville! I came in the other day as the drama queen who needed her car fixed right away and in an hour. Not only did Mike greeted me with the upmost professional care, he understood all of the issues my car was having. Mike explained everything that I NEEDED to replace in the language that I could understand. He worked with me to fit my budget. He treated me like a family member and made sure I got what I needed. I think he was more concerned with my safety than I was. Mike and Ted worked diligently to replace my rotors and rear brakes in less than the time they quoted. I was out of there in no time. My car is running great. No squeaks or grinding sounds. I paid much less that what I would have paid at the dealership. WORST SERVICE EVER. They're slow and the workers are untrained. I had my tire thread screwed up from over rotating from these guys. And they wouldn't even take the blame let alone fix their problem without additional cost, for their mistake. Ron has the biggest attitude problem every single time I go. Classic con mechanic!! They told me that they can only replace my oil with synthetic oil. I have a Toyota Camry and they've always used standard oil. Lie number two. They stated, my A/C was clogged it was not clogged when I brought it to them!! read more

I had an appointment to get my vehicle serviced on a Saturday. I was late but, they still serviced my vehicle. Everything was done in good timing and the pricing was great! The manager was very professional and explained everything that was wrong with my vehicle. He was patient and answered all of my questions. I came back later in the week and they completed my vehicle repairs in no time! Very pleased! I have already referred several more people to this location. i talked to Caesar prior to coming and told him how the dealership wanted to charge me for my brakes. Not only did give me an exact quote but it was cheaper to replace both front and back brakes with rotors. It costed me $40 cheaper with the lifetime warranty. Where the the dealership would only do the fronts and rotors. I was in and out within an hour and paid the exact price he quoted me. read more

My husband & I went by this location on 5/31 around 4:30pm. The door was unlocked & there are no hours posted anywhere on the doors or windows. The man behind the counter who was helping a customer proceeded to tell us they were closed. After looking online I did see that they close at 4pm on Sundays but I didn't check before going. Very poor customer service. If there were no hours posted he should've honored our service. They won't get our business. read more

My car was idling very rough and lurching when driving. My check engine light was on and flashing periodically. Was generating a Cylinder 1 Misfire code. The Pep Boys mechanic took a sensible guess and replaced the cap and rotor. Told me honestly up front that this fix might not solve the problem. (I had already replaced my super old spark plugs and wires at a different mechanic in an effort to find the cause of the misfire. My coil was fine.). Replacing the cap and rotor did not fix the problem, so the manager (who was as frustrated as I was at this point) told me to bring the car back so they could keep searching. They kept my car the entire day, but finally found the culprit--the cylinder 1 fuel injector, which was only acting up intermittently, which is why it had been so hard to pinpoint the problem. They replaced it with a brand new one and since then, the engine has run solid, with no CEL going on and no shaking. Highly recommend the team at this location -- Roger, Meach, and Ryan. Some error messages can be caused by a half a dozen things (or more). Mechanics are not psychic. Like doctors, they sometimes have to use a process of elimination and try fixes one by one. You have to be patient and understand that going into the process. And it's your car, so you get to say yes or no to whatever they suggest. Do your homework on your make, model, and year specifically. Google is your friend. read more

Placed order online for parts that were in stock. Called the next day to verify before pick up was told order was ready. Got to location 1hr later and they didn't have all of the parts Not only that the customer service was horrible especially Steven my girlfriend had to call corporate (who was also not very helpful) before he was willing to make any real attempts to resolve the situation. i feel like there were more employees than customers there, and everyone was still waiting in line an excessive amount of time. the employees looked miserable and overworked, though i saw not much work going on. i went there to return a cv axle i had ordered online, but had been sent the wrong part. the person at the counter said that happens all the time. i wont be ordering online from them or visiting the store. read more

Do not buy any parts from there it's not pep boys it called advance auto plus it looks like pep boys but if u look at it close n read it the signs.....it's pep boys n advance auto plus I bought some 1 engine coils there it didn't fit for my truck I took it back they exchanged it for another one when I in installed it it have the same problem I wonder what it was so I wasted more time n took it to the dealership they checked it out n say it was the engine coil is bad luck me I still had warranty from the dealer so they fixed it for me for free so I looked to the nearest pep boys to return the bad coils that they sold me so embarrassing I gave them the receipt they told me this is not a pep boys part or receipt...... so I call them and they told me that this isn't pep boys it may look like pep boys but it's not it's call advance auto plus but if u look at the signs it says pep boys n advance auto plus parts not cool I thought I was buying parts from pep boys beware..... they sold me a bad part I think it's refurbished or they just have bad parts....... read more

I recently stopped by this location one evening just as the store had closed,and I had a tire losing air fast from a nail in it. The gentleman there, I believe he was the manager whose name was Albert agreed to repair the tire, rather than telling me that they were closed and putting me at risk of being stranded with a flat tire. After plugging the tire, he then refused to take money for doing the work which shocked me. In this modern day of focusing on making profits, to experience someone like Albert who went "above and beyond" the norm, I was very grateful and appreciative of his kindness and I wanted to make sure that he was recognized. I recently went there for new tires and they were very nice and funny. The prices were good for what I got and they were able to answer all my questions. The only thing I did not like was how long I had to wait there. I felt like I spent most of my day waiting. However, I would rather my car be properly fixed and wait compared to rushing them to where they don't catch certain future problems. They did not try to sell me stuff I didn't need. Just have a ride to take you home or being a really good book you don't mind reading for a few hours. read more

I have always had excellent service at this PepBoys location. From the store manager to technicians, the service has always been great. The prices are less costly than those of dealership repair costs. I've purchased tires, had oil change and break work done and have been satisfied with all of the services thus far. As I was waiting, Thomas kept me informed of the diagnostic process and time remaining for repair. I'll continue to go there when I need automotive services. read more

staff is not very friendly and the tech was incompetent. I checked my oil right after I had it changed and it was at the bare minimum. I do not feel save driving with my oil this low so I am going to have to now go out and purchase additional oil. I also was under my car cleaning my mass air flow sensor and noticed that the oil plug is stripped, I hope that the tech did not use his pneumatic gun to tighten the oil plug, but I would imagine that he did. I just hope that he did not strip the treads on my oil pan. The tech also apparently does not know how to add. My current mileage is 126,345 and the number that he wrote down on the sticker that was placed on my windshield is 129,000. I have been going to this location for over a year now but I will not be stepping into this store again. read more
