I was told that if I arrived before 8:00 pm they would be able to service my truck so I drove over there with plenty of time to spare & was informed that they couldn't see me!!! I took my 97 accord for a fuel filter change, the did swap but bent the bracket holding the fuel filter. Never again stay away!

My grandson went in for oil change, and when check engine light came on 2000 miles later the oil stick was dry. They had not put a drop of oil in it...NO it did not go elsewhere. Added oil on Friday and have not lost any. Now we don't know if engine is ruined. Plus washer fluid reservoir dry. Horrible customer service. Went in today after work for an oil change and I had an appointment. The guy working there said he's not going to be able to do it then asked when I made my appointment. I told him this morning before work then he goes on to say "Well we don't even honor same day appointments so I won't be able to help you anyways." If they don't honor same day appointments why would their system even allow it. He had a very nonchalant attitude. I really wish I would've took his name down. I've had pretty crappy customer service before at another Pep Boys and thought I would give it another go at a different location. Everytime I go in for an oil change they tell me I need at least another couple hundred in parts. I used to like going here and really trusted them because one of the regular sales guys was awesome but of course he moved onto another job. Since then I've been back 3 times. First, they said new shocks, new boots, and new rotors!! Second, transmission flush. Third, engine air filter, coolant and oh my car didnt start when I went to pick it up. So they had to jump start it and said it was not their fault when it ran perfectly before my oil change and inspection. So I found out I did not need any of these things because I got a second opinion. How can they do this to people? read more

Spoke with Isaac. Friendly and courteous. Knowledgeable. I was happy to know that Pep Boys would be able to get our car's alternator done on a busy Sunday afternoon. Lifetime warranty on the part. Explained why the part wasn't working. Excellent price for the same service within 20 miles (we've called other pep boys too). Pep boys serves a purpose like the 99 cent store. If you need real cheap little car gadgets or a quart of oil they are good. But don't get caught up in the excitement of the cost savings and try their service department. Years ago I was a ACE certified Mechanic. I moved into technology as it was logical next step for me. There are very few things I can't do on a car. Most of the time this is due to not having a large cost tool (like a press). So when it come to wheel bearings I pay my local Guy. I made a really dumb choice to try and save just a little by going to pep boys to get wheel bearings replaced on my sons college Toyota Corolla, I paid $725 for this work. In most cases wheel bearings last 8 to 10 years once replaced. Not at pep boys, they last exactly 6 months. The good news was I had a warranty. The really bad news was the service righter/manager does not actually honor their warranty. He just says it is not their policy and wanted $405 more to fix their bad right front bearing. Oh and I almost forgot while he was stealing from my family and I, he arbitrarily upgraded the $29.99 deal they had for the oil change to his manager special for $61.00 and all we got for this last little theft was a report saying the bearing was not going to be covered. If you go to Pep Boys Servies department you will get taken, find a good honest local Mechanic and pay to have it done right first round. Net, net at end of day this costed an additional $506 and the initial savings was $44. My bad. Update 1/18/17: Now that I have already paid another shop they told me that the new bearing was put onto a bad hub and that's why it failed so quickly. Unfortunately that is something you check before you press on the new one. I will send an email as requested but the net, net of this is I am out $506 and Pep Boy Murrieta Hot Springs does not honor their warranty. read more

They say they have low prices but I got a better price from my own, local mechanic without quoting the Pep Boys price. Plus you always have to wait forever in line - it's annoying. They are pretty good for tires and oil changes. I will probably still take my car there from time to time but I sure didn't save any money. read more

In the adventure of moving we stopped to grab a bite to eat and ended up with a screw in my tire that we discovered at 630pm. EVERY tire place in Temecula was closed at 6. TGFPB! Because I have a hybrid, I don't have a spare and had to have my car towed to PepBoys and and we didn't get there until after 8. After reading all the negative reviews I was hesitant about have repair work done on my car, but since I had repair work done by a different Pep Boys before and those parts are life time warranted I decided to go ahead. Glad I did. First off, not all went perfectly but overall I'm happy. The repair was done, the car runs much better and the price was right as some of the replacement parts were warranted. They even comped me a part that was needed at the last minute. Kudos to long time (28 years) tech, Phin, for his efforts. Ok experience. Know right away that they will try to sell you every add-on, especially the alignment. They will call you while its being done and tell you that your tires show that your alignment is really bad. I overheard one of the guys say "I sold an air filter so now that's my sale" right in front of us. So they must be commission. Otherwise the tire installation was great. And the price is spot on. Shitty ass customer service they left finger prints and smudges all over my black truck. I took it in for an alignment and it drives worse than it did before. They also said this would take about 30 min to an hour and it took 4 and a half. All for an alignment, do not ever go here stick to the mom and pop shops much better service and workmanship. This is not the first... was here yesterday then was told best to come at 8 and they will try to fit me in. Came at exactly 8 and was checked in was told by Isaak 2 hours , patiently I waited, only to see no movement after 2 hours. I asked the guy Isaak how long more and was then told a few more hours. Wow! First if they do not know when they could fit us in then don't make promises or give a time frame, it would give the customer choices on if they want to do it or not - waste of my 2 hours. Why would they tell me to come at 8 when they can't fulfill what they tell you. I left , will be looking for another place for car service. Will never come to this place ever. It is with heavy heart I write this review, I tried to let it go and chalk it up to experience but I just can't. My daughter took her 2007 Prius in to have struts and shocks replaced. $349.28 for parts and $1,099.41 for labor. I told her to ask for 50% off on labor for a coupon we had since we are Pep Boys followers. I should have known things would turn for the worst. When you are told that you may have to pay more for "unexpected overtime on labor" run! I was expecting $800.00 maybe. Got no estimate got no deal. Never have a 26 year old take her car in by herself. Should have just taken it to Toyota, Burned again but NEVER again. read more

I always have a great experience here. It's been the second time they repaired my car and the service provided has always been great! I just actually picked up my car tonight for a power steering pump replacement, and thanks to Christian who has helped me through all of this. My husband made an appointment (and specified he would be waiting with his vehicle rather than drop off) to get his oil changed and when he got there they told him they didn't have enough technicians to get it done today. No phone call ahead of time to warn us or anything. The manager was incredibly rude and said "sorry, there's nothing we can do". No offer to provide maybe a discount to return on a different day or anything. Just pissed they didn't even call to say they didn't have enough people today to get it done, that's the whole point of making an appointment in advance. Terrible customer service. Not the way to run a business. We took the car somewhere else and had the oil changed within the hour, no appointment necessary. Will not be returning to this location. read more

This is the worst, worst store ever. I would give it -1 rating. Poor customer service. I ordered an item online and was told to come by and pick it up. When I got to the store I was told by a clerk that their inventory is off and that they did not have the item. The drive to the store was a total waste of time. I got a very apathetic sorry. I got in line for another item and one of the clerks couldn't work the cash register so I waited, and waited and waited to check out. I finally got out of line and left. I contacted this pep boys and let them know that my truck was skipping and they suggested I bring in for a diagnostics test. After telling them the truck was not showing a code their reply was no problem we'll be able to tell you anyway. After a short period i was contacted and told "it's your transmission, we need to drop the pan and check for damage". When I asked why they informed me that there was no fluid showing on the dip stick. Fortunately for me I had just had the transmission serviced and true enough the transmission folks had misread the capacity.... by 1 quart. Why wouldn't they want to check that first? Bottom line is that I was about to get hit up for another couple hundred bucks on top of paying them 90.00 to find out nothing that fixed my car. By the way..If your car is showing a code there are several garages in the Temecula area that will diagnose at no charge. read more

I usually find the best deals for oil changes and so pep boys had a coupon for 24.99 oil change and tire rotation. Turns out the car wash next door to pep boys stripped my oil pan bolt last oil change I had. The manager at pep boys (Daniel) explained everything to me and was able to fix the problem without having to buy a new oil pan. The customer service was excellent and my sales rep Eddie was very helpful. I will not be going anywhere else for oil changes besides pep boys! Fast friendly service and the entire job took 30 min.
