Usually, when coming to this pepes location, I order the bacon bfast burrito with just egg, bacon and Pico and it is absolutely delicious. Today I decided to get a grilled chicken burrito with just cheese, since I usually don't eat lunch or bfast at work. I have never in all my years of burrito eating have I experienced the burrito I had today. It was SOAKED, SOAKED IN GREASE. Where my burrito js barely edible. I changed my burrito paper at work, and let it sit, just be soaked again. I'm pretty disappointed as my burrito is almost inedible and will make me sick as I am consuming a tub of oil in one burrito. Soooo the reason I'm giving this specific location a 1 star has nothing to do with the food or employees but I would really like for everyone that loves this place as much as I do know how their employees are being robbed of their tips I do not tip at this location anymore. My son's girlfriend worked there only for a few months. Tell me why the employees do not re their tips so what they do is collect all the tips and supposedly save them until the end of the year which at that time they split the tips and give it out as Christmas bonuses.... I was so livid to hear that so when my son's girlfriend quit she had worked there for about 4 to 5 months they gave her, her last check so when she came home I asked her what about your tips. From the months you were there how does that work because its not added to your check so Iade her go back and. Just to get her out of their hair they gave her 40 dollars ....are you kidding me. I'm bringing this up now because I was just there on Monday the young girl that took my order through the drive thru was soo sweet and very patient with me so when I got to the window I explained to her that I wanted to tip her but I know they make them share and that she wouldn't get the money another employee came to the window to hand me my food and I asked him if I could specifically tip the order taker he was very nice and said you know what sure I don't see why not so I pulled a 5 dollar bill out and then all of a sudden an Angry short lady shuffled through and said Noooo she can't she has to share with everybody... I said sorry hun this is why I can't tip here because the employees are literally getting robbed of their tips so I really hope the word gets spread and something is done about this because it is completely unfair to those hard working employees to get robbed by their boss. read more

Ordered the cali burrito, which was MASSIVE and filled with tasty carne asada. I was pleasantly surprised by how much meat was in this thing. I don't think I even finished half of it, which made me sad since I don't like to waste food. But I was boarding a plane soon, and taking leftovers wasn't practical. All right. All the complainers can just sit their asses down. We used to come to Pepe's all the time when we lived in Orange County. When I had a Disneyland pass I would come here first for a breakfast burrito and would eat it through the day at the park rather than paying Disney prices for food. Now when we come back to visit we always try to fit Pepe's in. I recently was in OC for my best friend's wedding and I got up early just to drive half an hour to get us Pepe's breakfast burritos to start the day right and keep us going. It's still great. Prices have gone up, but it's still a good deal for how much food you get. I'm also pretty sure the burritos have gotten bigger. Appreciate the Pepe's in your life. read more

I normally don't write reviews but any business stealing people's money like this deserves a bad review so people can be aware. Ordered the Mexicali burrito which should cost $15.65 and they charged me $1.50 extra for asada beans and rice but the Mexicali burrito already comes with asada and beans. After bringing it to their attention they said it doesn't come with rice so that's why it was charged. They still overcharged since rice only costs $0.97 cents on their menu so we just left. The worst part is when we cut the burrito in have and started eating there wasn't even rice in it! See the receipt and picture of the inside of the burrito as evidence. One star. Don't come here unless you want to fight for your money and have to double check all your charges. It also smelled inside the place so those of you ordering through drive through beware. read more

This place use to be one of my favorites. These days the service & food are clearly not as good. Additionally, the prices are dramatically higher. Todays total $30 for two plates. Our last visit was a few months back and the dining room was closed. The service was awful. So much so that it took us several months to let them get the place back in order before we'd get the notion to go back again. The visit today was very disappointing, and its highly unlikey we'll return. We ordered 2 two item plates. 2 tacos & an enchilada/taco plate. First, the hard tacos were made with much smaller tortillias than usual. Second, their rice is a different recipe. I dont generally like mexican rice, but pepes rice recipe was the exception. They use to put a small amount of a green sauce on top of the rice & it was yummy. Todays rice was red & covered in a red sauce. I didnt like it. Positives which led to the 3 stars given: 1. The enchilada on my plate was good. 2. I appreciated that time was taken to wrap my hard taco with foil to keep it from getting soggy from sitting along side of enchilada sauce. Thats it. What use to be a 5/5 star place is lucky to get 3/5 stars based on today. read more

Their breakfast burrito - still as good as I remembered.!!!! Very filling when you get all 3 meats (ham, sausage & bacon). There is also an outside covered eating area. Like I said I have been going since they opened. The customer service has improved 10 fold. The food is as good as it has always been. The improvements they made during and after Covid are great. I do miss my Coke though. Like you can see in other reviews the portions are large. A breakfast burrito can be shared. Soft taco = 2 tacos LOL the meat is overflowing. The meat has great flavor as all the dishes. But the hot sauce keeps me coming back week after week for now over 30 years. I will spread the Pepe's word everywhere I go. But do know the family has many branches and not all Pepes are the same. Hope to see you there!!! read more

The burrito is HUGE! I ordered a carne Asada burrito with beans and rice and I thought I was picking up a newborn! This thing was absolutely massive and really delicious, the carne Asada was cooked perfectly and I was so stuffed I couldn't even eat the entire thing in one sitting. Had to eat half and take the rest home with me for dinner. The staff were super nice and the owner was doing his best to keep me entertained while waiting for the cooks to whip it up. This is college town dive Mexican food. The drive-through was BUSY & non-stop! (Headlights in my eyes the entire time I dined inside, since I was facing that direction.) The food is excellent! I loved the corn tortillas and al pastor meat. The guac is creamy. I was expecting tacos already assembled, but instead it was 3 corn tortillas wrapped up to stay warm and a huge pile of finely chopped al pastor meat (with beans, rice, & guac on the side). My 3 tortillas only held half the meat, so I had plenty leftover for another day. I'd say this is mainly a drive-through place, with to-go inside. Although there is space for several families to eat inside. Even dining in, food was served in a styrofoam container. The non-gendered restroom was like a men's stall in a bar. As a direct result, you forget about great places that you used to frequent and one day a trigger word or phrase hits you like a dog picking up on words such as, walk, bye bye, snack, and take me to Timmy who fell down the well! Right?! On a particular Sat morning breakfast burrito I wake up early, lay there in bed pondering life and my wife states, "Too bad there aren't any good places around us that have good breakfast burritos". Breakfast burritos were my trigger words that early morning and I replied with, I know a spot, let's go!!!! Brushed my teeth, threw on some sweats, and off we went to Pepe's!!! We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door, there was an older gentleman co-running the drive through like an air traffic controller to the side, and we placed our order with the nice polite gal in the front. Assuming this decent looking spot served menudo on the weekends, I went in because it's walking distance from home. Sadly they didn't have what I wanted but since I was too scared to just walk out, I ordered a breakfast burrito. It was actually pretty bomb. The normal Mexican restaurant would pack the burrito with two whole potatoes, but not Pepe's. Upon my request, they left out the potatoes. Thinking without the papas, the burrito would be on the smaller side. Thinking again, that thang was girthy! It seemed like they put extra eggs and meat to compensate. Although the salas they offered were really good, all the ingredients inside the burrito were perfectly flavored. I'd say the most impressive part of this was the execution of the final touches of the rolling. It was unbelievable how it was so full and girthy with no ripping and/or leaking at all. Thang was packed and rolled by the hands of Jesus himself on this beautiful Sunday morning. I still can't believe they don't offer menudo. read more
