I called the place and they had the gaul to make excuses for sub par service. "Um, we have a lot of orders so thats why your food is taking a while." I've been here quite a few times, there pizza is usually pretty great! I got a sub this time and it was honestly pretty bad. I got a chicken tender sub, instead they gave me what looked like popcorn chicken, it was tiny little pieces of "chicken" (essentially batter) the popcorn chicken bites were the size of a dime. I've ordered from this place often for about a year. When it comes to pizza, its hard to find another place that does pizza dough so goddamn well. The quality of their toppings could be better, overall, the toppings are similar to most other non-franchise pizza places. But their crust is the best I've ever had, period. Its so incredibly amazing that nothing else really matters. You can get fancy toppings from trendy or high end places, but no amount of toppings will cover up a bad or mediocre crust; you will not have that problem here. If you value toppings over crust, you could just go to a grocery store, buy some prosciutto, arugula, balsamic vinegar and put it on top of one of Pepi's amazing cheese pizzas. Ordered Greek salads with steak tips. Very disappointed in the quality of the "steak tips". It was more like stew meat, cooked through until it was tough and almost jerky like. I ordered a chicken broccoli alfredo pizza, fried ravioli, and a steak and cheese sub for delivery. The pizza and raviolis were AMAZING! Very very good. The sub however was not great, my boyfriend didn't even take more than a few bites and I didn't even want to try it. I will definitely order from Pepi's again, but I'll stick to the pizza! read more

This is my favorite pizza joint in Somerville, hands down. Every single thing I order is delicious. If you like buffalo chicken, the chicken buffalo pizza is the BEST. They drizzle ranch dressing very lightly over shredded basil and buffalo chicken. It is seriously amazing. I have tried a handful of their other pizzas and have yet to be disappointed. A special shoutout to the employee who answers the phone, she is always super clear about the order, never makes a mistake, and takes your credit card info with ease even though you can hear she is in a loud busy environment. If you had asked me 6 months ago to write a review, you'd get 5 stars. This place has DRASTICALLY gone down hill since management changed. Food is sloppy, mushy, and doesnt seem as fresh as it used to. When Edith was in charge, pizza toppings were fresh. Now you can tell things are coming from a can. I was also totally turned off when I went in to pick up an order. The young man at the counter stated "we're trying to get away from online orders so start calling or use our website." The way he went about it was completely non professional. I understand it probably costs them money to use a service such as Eat24 but that's how I order, its easy and convenient. Best pizza place in Somerville. First of all, it's consistent. A few places around here vary widely one order to the next, these guys do the same really good quality every order. Second, the service is really friendly and on top of things-- attentive not rushed. Since you mainly order pizza when you're completely put out this is important. Third, I really like this style of pizza which is common in Southern NH. It's quasi-Greek I guess, medium thickness crust, medium amount of sauce, cheese has some body and bounce when you bite in. Not huge like Sicilian or deep dish, but not like that paper thin NY stuff that looks like it rolled out of a printing press. Pizza is all about the crust, and the sauce, and the cheese. I've only had delivery from here, so take that for what it is. I love that they're open so late and the quality of the pizza is definitely better than most other places like them. The menu has excellent variety and I've never really been disappointed by anything I've ordered. However, the food is usually lukewarm by the time I get it. I can't knock them too much for that since they're not exactly down the street from me, but it'd be nice if the delivery time was a little shorter so I wouldn't have to toss everything in the oven for a few minutes before really enjoying it.
