Not a bad place to stay the night. The restaurants are good. I like the Oceano in particular. The view from my room was beautiful! And the entire place is very elegant. This place is clean, pure white bedsheets, no mold anywhere in the bathroom, toilets have no rings. The hot water is very hot, so just be aware. I like how fast the water gets hot. The bathroom is elegant as with the entire hotel. Marble everywhere, crown molding. Jetted bathtub. Orange scented toiletries. The beds were comfy and no sore back in the morning! Probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at while in Reno! They offer complimentary shuttle to the airport & hotel. Staff was was really friendly and professional. They had smoking and non smoking areas of the casino which I enjoyed so I didn't smell like cigarettes going back up to my room. The rooms were nice and clean, the view of the city and mountains was a plus! The architecture of the building was breathtaking! Lots of great spots to take "touristy" photos. This is hands down one of the nicest hotel casinos with a low budget pricing. I honestly was blown away at how beautiful and clean this hotel/casino was. The hotel suite was just incredibly beautiful with no cost spared on furniture and décor. Everything was solid wood and marble counter tops. The wall texture and crown molding was also very impressive. Even the TV and fridge were top notch. I also loved the double sinks and small flat screen TVs in the bathroom. Plus it came with a walk in shower with dual shower head action which was pretty cool, a jacuzzi bathtub and private bathroom! Peppermill Resort Spa Casino is our absolute favorite place to stay at when we visit Reno. Our last few stays have been at the Peppermill Tower. We had a spacious room, comfortable beds with equally comfortable sheets, and a large bathroom with a good-sized shower. Check-in is always quick and courteous. And, there are always coupons for gaming, drinks, and the arcade. During our recent stay, there was an issue with the HVAC system in our room and the problem was fixed in about an hour. The front counter even made a follow-up call to our room to confirm that someone did indeed resolve the problem. That kind of swift customer service is pretty rare in our experience! We love the variety of gaming options at Peppermill and many of the dealers we've come across are friendly and professional. The overall vibe on the casino floor is lively and welcoming. There's often a big crowd of gamblers, especially at the sports book - which only adds to the positive vibes. We also love the variety of food/restaurant choices as well as bars/lounges. We always visit their Cafe Milano - it's a 24-hour restaurant that features American cuisine and we can order breakfast all day long. Finally, have a three-story spa and salon called Spa Toscano where you can get all sorts of services (hair/nails, massages, facials, etc) plus hot tubs, cold plunging pools, saunas, steam rooms, a salt room, and a caldarium with an indoor pool, sun deck, and secret gardens with food service. People spend the entire day at Spa Toscano! You can purchase a day spa pass for $85 per person on Mondays-Thursdays. Or, you enjoy all of the amenities with a purchase of a spa or salon service. Been coming here for at least 20 years. Peppermill is by far the best casino in Reno. They are in the process of remodeling the rooms, they are beautiful! Café Milano is our favorite place to eat because the food is delicious and there is a large selection to choose from. Besides the food, the servers, Monica and Mark are the absolute best! They work harder than anyone else in the restaurant, and we so appreciate their attention to us. We are disappointed in the change of most of the slot machines. They have removed most of the reeled slot machines and replaced them with electronic ones that are pretty much all the same. It's been about 20 years since the last time I visited Reno! We took a spontaneous trip this past weekend and decided to book a room at the Peppermill! What a fancy hotel - I felt very boujee! We stay in a suite in the Tuscany tower and the room was huge! The room included 2 King sized beds, a seating area, large jacuzzi tub, walk in shower and it even had a TV in the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. We had a great view of the pool area as well. The hotel is HUGE. I believe there are 3-4 restaurants, plus shops, a giant arcade, an endless amount of slot machines, multiple bars, a betting/racing area, 2 heated pools and 2 jacuzzies, etc. My daughter loved swimming when it was 33 degrees outside! Hotel staff was very friendly, the hotel was quiet from our room at night. Parking is free in their parking garage, but they offer valet as well. From the rooms to the spa and steakhouse, Peppermill has definitely stepped up their game! I was pleasantly surprised that Reno had such beautiful rooms, decor, food and Spa services. We spent almost all day at the spa and it was so amazing. I was hesitant to post a review because I want to gate-keep it to myself. Their pool and jacuzzis are Co-Ed. No kids allowed. Such a relaxing experience. Better than GSR's facilities. Hands down! I can't wait to return. Audrey was amazing as a masseuse and was able to get my knots in my shoulders and neck out. Massage was $175 total. They allowed us to drink and eat at the heated poolside. Suites were almost $300/night but well worth it because of the huge steam shower with 3 shower heads. The gaming is always great and if you like a coming to Reno to avoid the Vegas crowds this is the hotel to stay and play , can always get on a table and the mins are reasonable anytime. As for the room , got the corner king with the sauna shower and it is small room but very nice. Clean and well lit with frig. and a most comfortable bed. Stayed here for a few days. First, it's a HUGE resort. I booked a room in the north tower-I knew it was a bit of a walk but didn't realize how far away it was from everything. It's easily a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel registration if not longer. The room was decent and clean. The TV was on when we finally found the room (which was a little creepy). Staff was very nice and polite. We had come back mid day and they were cleaning the room and let us get something in the room. We had a luxurious view of the back parking lot (haha) but once we got used to the traveling to the room, it wasn't too bad. We did order room service on our first night because it was late and I was grateful for that option. Gratuities are added into the charge just fyi. All in all I'd stay here again but probably pay the extra money to stay in the main hotel. read more

Our stay was great. We got there on Saturday and left Sunday. Super busy, Valentine's Day weekend, but they seemed to accommodate everyone. We got our room within a week of the date, which was probably why we got sent to the servants quarters, not really. But our room was in the west wing. We had to walk a long ways. We had to go outside. It was covered to protect from the falling elements, but not the cold and heat. Then the building was old and in need of updating. The room wasn't terrible, but could use an update. It was clean. Casino was pretty clean. Not too smoky, unless close to someone smoking. It was busy, but we were able to find slot machines to play. Slot machines didn't seem too tight. We were able to get a bunch of bonuses. The bonuses didn't all pay big but it was better than nothing. They at least prolonged the slot play before taking our money. The casino got loud at times. It took a little while to get free drinks, but they got to you. Once people started going to bed or leaving, the drinks came faster. At the bar, they were good about giving free drinks as long as you were gambling. We had dinner at their cafe Milano. We were seated in like 30 minutes. They texted us when our table was ready, so we could gamble while we waited. It was good. I had the New York steak and baked potato. It was good. My wife had hot and sour soup, general chicken, and fried rice. She enjoyed it. The restaurant was pretty clean and not too loud. The only negative thing and maybe it's not even a problem. It just appears bad. The gentleman that was handling our drinks was also collecting the dirty dishes. Maybe he was washing his hands before taking our drinks, I don't know. I hope so. During my visit to the Peppermill, I found the staff to be incredibly helpful and friendly. I often got lost, but they were always ready to assist me, even with the casino being quite busy. The arcade was a hit with the kids, providing plenty of entertainment for them. I noticed that the bathrooms were well-maintained, which was a plus. While the games could have used a bit more frequent cleaning, I did see staff members actively working to keep the area tidy. Overall, I had a great time, even though my stay was brief. I really wanted to give Peppermill Reno 5 stars because the spa service was genuinely wonderful. Unfortunately, everything fell apart on the last day of my trip due to a shockingly bad experience with the front desk and security team. I've never been treated with such disrespect at any hotel in my life. After checking out, I realized I had left my personal pillow in the room. I went to the front desk and asked if someone could let me in or retrieve it for me. Melinda, the front desk staff, flat-out refused because my name wasn't on the reservation--even though my friend who was on the reservation was literally waiting outside and immediately called to give them permission to add my name. Melinda claimed she'd send security to help, but what followed was an unnecessarily aggressive and demeaning ordeal. Bailey from security arrived and treated me like a trespasser. I showed him my ID, explained the situation again, and referenced the conversation with Melinda. He refused to assist in any way--not even to retrieve the pillow himself. Instead, we went in circles for almost 20 minutes while he was rude and dismissive. Eventually, he said we had to go back down to speak to Melinda again. Both of them gaslit me, claiming my friend never called--when in fact, she spoke with both the front desk and housekeeping. What should have been a 5-minute solution turned into a humiliating and frustrating experience because of this hotel's bizarre and inflexible security culture. I was being treated like a criminal over a pillow. Their handling of the situation was not just unprofessional, it was unnecessarily hostile. Both Bailey and Melinda were rude, condescending, and completely devoid of empathy or common sense. It's really sad that such a great spa is attached to a hotel with this kind of staff and security mindset. I left feeling deeply upset and disrespected. I love staying at the Peppermill after leaving Burning Man. I need a hot shower fast and a soft big bed. This last time, I booked a massage appointment with the Spa and spent the ENTIRE DAY utilizing the spa facilities. I spent most of my time in the Caldarium featuring an indoor pool and sun deck. I also enjoyed a delicious and hearty breakfast meal in the Caldarium which features "natural light, soothing baths, cascading waterfalls and peaceful sanctuaries set the tone for a spa journey focusing on holistic rejuvenation and renewal." My ULTIMATE FAVORITE room was the RELAXATION ROOM. I literally fell asleep for hours to the calming trickling water sound while on a recliner. The room is dark and you feel like you're in outer space. So my vibe. Supposedly it is rated the 3rd best hotel spa in the nation!!! A must if you come to the Peppermill. We also thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at CHI - which is Chinese food. I'm not sure what is fusion about it. It is very Chinese but it was delicious and authentic! And it hit the spot! read more

I was here for a conference and wasn't entirely sure what to expect. My room was fantastic on the 10th floor of the Peppermill Tower, with a great view if the pool. It was spacious, clean, quiet and super comfortable. Unfortunately, others' rooms smelled of smoke, even on non-smoking floors. Rooms over the casino, which allows smoking, had the strongest smell. The restaurants were not inexpensive, but they had good quality food with large portions. Didn't spend any time in the casino since it was so smoky. Plenty of parking. Location was fine, excellent location from the airport. Staff I encountered were very friendly. The conference rooms were good, as was the food. All in all, a good experience. read more

Our dining experience at the Reno Peppermill spa, and casino was amazing. Their steakhouse Bimini's is one of my favorites, I always enjoy the crab legs, paired with the wine flight of the week. Our server Patrick T, was an excellent server, and provided us great recommendations for entries. For breakfast we like Biscotti's for their menu selection and quality service. Peppermill used to be my favorite place to gamble. However, and the last year or two, I was told that the owner passed away and someone else took over the business. Whoever that person is, they completely ruined this place. They took out all of the fun old school, progressive machines and put in all of these new animated machines which are just terrible. The vibe is completely different, the staff is down to skeleton crew. They cut FreePlay in half even for platinum members. Worst of all, we witnessed a drawing where they split the first place prize into two different drawings and guess what? The same person one first place in both drawings. 100% rigged. You will never change my mind. What are the odds? The same person winning first place in both drawings? Impossible. This was just the icing on the cake considering the machines are now so tight, you could spend $1000 and you might get $100 back. Now I see why when I come here the business is so slow when before there were long lines of people waiting to check in. Not anymore. After talking to some of the other players, they said they wouldn't be coming back either. That Reno now is just not a good place to gamble. As much as I don't like the casinos in California, I have to admit I can still win here and there, but Peppermill, forget it. The only place that's worse than here is Atlantis Casino. We found GSR or grand Sierra resort to be the only fair Casino so far when it comes to gambling in comps. I have now switched my preferred status over to their Casino. Very sad to see Peppermill go down the toilet. We came on Mother's Day weekend and grand Sierra was pretty busy, however, Peppermill was a ghost town. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Peppermill Resort and spa. While I gambled my wife enjoyed the sights and sounds of the casino. The poker room was fine although I found the dealers to be sleepy. I'm not a professional player and I ended up losing and these dealers were not helpful. Blackjack was great and they have $10 tables. Again I lost but the dealers were helpful and I appreciated that. It was great to get away and although it was a very busy weekend (July 4) traffic from San Francisco moved very well. The Good: The resort is absolutely beautiful. Everything is clean. The pool was well maintained. Staff had to shovel snow so visitors could go. The Bad: $100 hold per night you stay. They try to get u to use this hold for food or services in your room. For three nights you need an extra $300 dollars. Yikes. The ugly: The reason for my 3 stars is because the food is RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED it's actually embarrassing. For (1) cup of chicken noodle soup and (1) "large" tea it cost me $34 !!! For (1) eggs Benedict with hash browns and (1) cup of apple juice cost me $48!!! I didn't want to leave the resort because of the weather. I am extremely disappointed with cost of food. I'm *still* loving on The Peppermill after all these years. However, the rooms have undergone quite a few changes recently. "Renovations"... if you will. I have been wanting to stay in my usual Imperial Suite for quite a while now since they started on their upgrades... but they always seem to be sold out whenever I want to go. Until NOW! I finally got to check it out. Personally, I think the "upgrade" is a mixed bag. It certainly has a more modernized look & feel to it. But it doesn't feel like a Tuscan Villa anymore. The fireplace is a beautiful accent/addition. The automatic blinds are... okay I guess. The jetted tub is still a treat & access to get in and out of the new tubs is much better than before. BUT! THEY GOT RID OF THE MIRRORS ABOVE THE TUB! Haha, I didn't realize how much I (*cough*) enjoyed the ceiling mirrors until they were gone! And for now, the renovations are still ongoing. The reception desk informed me that there could be construction noise from 8am to 5pm. And they were right. It's a bit of a let down to have noise so early in the morning after paying a hefty $275/night. But, this, like most things, is temporary. As for the spa-- I tried to book a massage a few days in advance and was told they only had a 25 minute slot available (at an inconvenient to me time). On a Monday & Tuesday. Weird. Who gets a 25 minute massage?!? That's way too short for my aching bones. Room service is still exceptional, as usual. And I can't wait until summer to soak in some pool vibes! read more

A Missed Opportunity to Make a Special Milestone Truly Meaningful My wife and I stayed at the Peppermill Casino Hotel in Reno to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary -- a milestone that meant more to us than words can express. We were married in Reno 30 years ago, which made this return trip feel especially meaningful. It wasn't just a vacation -- it was a full-circle moment we had been looking forward to for a long time. But this past year brought unimaginable challenges. My wife was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. Doctors told us that if she hadn't had surgery in June, she would have had only three months to live. The past year has been filled with pain, surgeries, and ongoing treatment. She's fought hard through every step -- and making it to this 30th anniversary was something we never took for granted. I wanted to give her something joyful, peaceful, and memorable. Something that honored the strength it took to get here. Before our stay, I sent two emails through the Peppermill website explaining the significance of this trip and asking if anything could be done to make it a little special. I never received a response -- not even a basic acknowledgment. Unfortunately, that lack of care set the tone for the visit: * The jacuzzi tub view, which appeared scenic on the website, actually faced a large HVAC system. Not exactly the romantic setting we envisioned for a special occasion. * We booked the Imperial Suite ( you can see the pictures on Roxanne B review), which includes a jetted air tub (what I'd call a bubbler tub). It's not the same as a traditional jetted water jacuzzi. If you sit on the side with the air jets hitting your back, the water splashes all over. You will need more towels to clean up the water. On the last night, I found it was better to sit near the faucet side. Personally, I prefer a classic jetted tub that offers a better massage experience. Just a heads-up for anyone booking based on the tub. * The room had two digital thermostats, but neither seemed to function well. No matter what we set, the room stayed at 71°F, making it hard to get truly comfortable. * USB and power access was another frustration. Only one side of the bed had an extension cord with USB and outlet access. The other side had nothing. The only plug was wedged tightly between the bed and nightstand, and plugging in a USB cable there would bend or damage it. That's poor design for a modern hotel room. * The outlets on the right side of the jacuzzi tub didn't work, which we discovered while trying to charge my wife's mobility scooter -- something that could have created a real problem had we not caught it in time. I understand not every hotel can deliver luxury-level service or grand gestures. But this wasn't a typical getaway -- and I wasn't asking for much. Just a small sign of care. A "we hear you." A "congratulations." Even just a reply to my message. Instead, it felt like just another night in just another hotel (much more expensive). As they say " You Can Never Go Home Again". We have stayed at the Peppermill a handful of times and just spent a couple nights last week. We LOVE the Tuscany Tower rooms, so that is where we stayed. Appreciated the email to check in the day prior to arrival. It was an easy few clicks, I was able to update the credit card I wanted to use, save my info and close the page. The following morning I was impressed to see at 7:30AM I was send a text message to notify me our room was ready for check in! Whoo hoo, very early and ready to go. Text advised PLEASE PROCEED TO THE FRONT DESK TO PICK UP YOUR KEYS. I believe the email said I could bring my ID to the desk and get my keys. When I checked in I gave my ID, then she asked for my AAA card for the discount, and then asked for my credit card. What is the point of checking in online if I still had to do the full monty at the counter? Representative was very polite, and I got my keys, on to the Tuscany Tower we went. Room on the 7th floor was clean and bright. We had a view overlooking the pool and spa. Got the AC going and settled in. My favorite thing about the Tuscany Tower is the massive tub. Comfortably fits 2 people easily. Bring your bubble bath! They do have a small shower gel, but you'll want more. 2 sinks, plenty of counter space and a vanity. Nice double headed shower and a separate toilet room. Bed and linens appeared clean. 2 bottles of water were provided. We opted out of housekeeping and you get a resort credit of $10 for dining/shopping. The floor overall was very quiet. I could hear the door close with the room next to us but other than that, no noise. Self parking, plenty of parking spaces available. We used Lyft to head out and back, no issues with drop off or pick up. Lots of bars and spots to eat. We ate at Biscotti's for dinner than lunch the next day. Good variety on the menu. Live music at the Terrace Lounge was nice. Overall hotel was a great experience. We will continue to stay at the Peppermill when visiting Reno. read more

I used to visit the Peppermill often but this time was especially nice. We spent a couple days in Tahoe and needed a place in Reno for one night before a very early flight the next day. The Peppermill had great rates for basic rooms. When we arrived they upgraded us to a really nice suite in a different tower. I wish that we had more time to spend in the room. There was a really nice tub and I would have liked to take a bath, but we pretty much ate, had a drink in the piano bar, and went to sleep. The next day, we checked out but I guess it didn't take because they called me on my cell phone that afternoon (I was already in Kentucky) to see if we needed more time in the room. My only complaint I had for Peppermill for every time I stay is seeing other guests occupy the EV charging spots all day and overnight. Some even had their cars plugged in for 3 days straight. I think I may have sent a review and already but we went to the spa at the Peppermill and it was absolutely fabulous. If you haven't been there, you must go. Be ready to drop a coin or two, for the massage, etc., but you get to spend all day in the sauna the pool area the Steam rooms, their showers, and so many amenities. It's definitely worth it. It's a full day experience. And when you walk in the hotel, it smells heavenly. So fresh and clean of course they pump something in the air, but it's absolutely delightful. The girl that gave me my massage was Jennifer. I liked her technique. I think she did a fabulous job. She listened to me and I definitely got what I asked for. If you're looking for a treat for a special occasion or for a day getaway, this is definitely put it on your bucket list or something to do with your girlfriends, SO, a great mom and daughter day. So next time I think we will book a room which don't seem too outrageous during the week and then book a spa day. What a delightful treat it has been. read more

Time for an update since my last review in 2020 and may have been the last time I stayed the night here. Came last week for a work convention so I stayed for 4 nights, 5 days. I was dreading it a little because I remember how not fun it was. I used to get "comp" rooms here but still had to pay the resort fee and taxes which is about $40 a night. Not too bad if that is all I am paying but GSR sends me comps that are truly free. I don't pay a dime when I stay there. Peppermill has changed- a lot in the last ten years. The valet is still gone. Not a big deal but it was perk. Practically all old school slots are gone. There used to be a whole section near Keno that had them and they were mostly disabled with numbers on them so it looks like they were used for tournaments or something? All new-expensive machines.. min bet .75 cents. The areas are dirty so not a lot of staff to clean. The bathrooms were gross most of the time because they don't have automatic flushers. I wanted to take my friends to try the new Mexican place or CHI but they are both closed Tue/Wed on the free nights we had so we never got to go. Stayed in Tuscany towers because they were closest to the convention hall but as a gambler it is too far from the casino floor. Room was larger but the beds were not comfortable and the pillows are like torpedos... big, heavy, and obnoxious enough to suffocate a baby. They also no longer recycle the soap or conserve on energy with the towels. There used to be a note saying if you wanted it replaced leave on floor, or to resuse, rehang it and they replaced every used item hung or not. There is 2 water bottles waiting for you, a Keurig machine and a refrigerator. You would pay extra for this in Vegas. Now the good. The cocktail waitresses are plentiful and quick. I never had to wait long to get a drink. They still had a ton of nickel Keno throughout where I did very well at and most other machines that i played. I actually came out ahead this trip which is an accomplishment for playing every night. For that reason, I would try them out again.
