Not a bad little restaurant - the strip mall location and general presentation look a bit touristy / franchise-wannabe but the food is legit and that's really all that matters at the end of the day. There's a wide range of menu options - from classic Maine seafood fare to burgers n fries and even a pretty decent gumbo (that probably could have a little more flavor but as is I certainly didn't regret getting it). The portions are pretty huge, which is certainly appreciated In This Economy. Servers are friendly and the place runs pretty efficiently, which is also never really a guarantee post-2020... All in all a good spot if you're looking for something to eat or even to get a few drinks at - there's a fully stocked bar and a huge cocktail list I've yet to try. Great food, great location and great service! We're so glad this restaurant opened in Brunswick and at this location! It's perfectly centered in my opinion - it's easy to find and there is plenty of parking available. We recently tried their food - part of our goal to support local restaurants during the pandemic. We were NOT disappointed. Wow. The ordering process over the phone was super easy, because the staff member made it easy, friendly energy, with attention to detail and was polite. That goes a long way with me. There is a pick up spot near the front - a staff member came out to verify our order and took our credit card to process payment. Super easy! We ordered three orders of Haddock and Fries - and each order had very generous portions. We powered through and 2 out of 3 of use were able to eat all of the food. First time in Maine, so I had to have a lobster roll. The waiter, bartender actually, explained the difference between the various rolls they had, which was very helpful, and I went with the traditional Maine roll... cold with a little mayo. When it was dropped at my table I was underwhelmed. It had only two claws in it, and they weren't big claws. (The restaurant I went the next night (different place) said that I should have gotten the knuckles and some tail in there too.) The bread overwhelmed the lobster, but the few bites I took of little bread and a lot of lobster were great... really sweet. Too bad this was my first experience. For $35, it's not a good value at all, especially when they short you on lobster. read more

It makes me really sad to leave this review but Pepper's was definitely our worst meal of our 8 day New England road trip. We stopped at this location during one of our evening drives to our next hotel and we were really let down. It was a Sunday evening, but they were very busy - we had a short wait. We discovered they were so busy because of their "Sunday supper" special, which seemed like a really good deal, I opted for it! My husband got a lobster roll and really did not enjoy it. My food, though sounded delicious, was borderline gross. It was stuffed haddock and everything was great except they coated it in Ritz crackers which just really destroyed all of the flavors and textures of what otherwise would've been a really nice dish. The blueberry pie was also not great. I will say, we thought the onion rings for our appetizer were delicious. Our server was not attentive and actually spent most of the evening gossiping with the other servers about the other locations of the restaurant and complaining about the rush that the Sunday Supper special brings. And to top it off, this was a rather expensive meal. Our check came and we were a little surprised, it ended up being our 2nd most expensive meal of our entire trip and certainly not worth it, as I said - our worst meal, too. This was absolutely the worst dinner we have had in Maine. I had the lobster Mac and cheese, it was overpowering with nutmeg (guessing) and almost no cheese sauce. It had good chunks of lobster claw stuck in it but for $35...totally overpaid. My wife had a lobster roll for $37 and we could have gotten a better roll on Main Street form a vender. With two drinks the meal cost $124. I don't mind paying that much but I expected more. BTW prices with lobster are marked "Market" so you have no idea how much you're paying. Hanford had lobsters at $9.99 a lb so $35 for 4oz of lobster in some crappy noodles is ridiculous. Total tourist trap. read more

This meal was just what I needed to end my fall foliage trip to Maine. I got the haddock chowder to start, which is so creamy and flavorful. The pieces of haddock in the chowder was soft and tasty. I got the shrimp and scallop stuffed haddock for my entree ( I wanted to make the most of Maine and get as much local haddock as I could before my flight back) and the dish did not disappoint. Sweet and flaky, melt in your mouth haddock generous stuffed with scallops and shrimp (chunky pieces too!) We arrived around noon and it was not busy, and we were a group of 5 with 2 dogs, and we called and they have outdoor dining and the server even got water for our dog. She was kind and nice. The restaurant has great a seafood decor that's adult and up scale without having upscale prices. I ordered the clam chowder and lobster mac and cheese. the clam chowder was superb with a great texture. The lobster mac and cheese was a great choice to enjoy wonderful fresh lobster without having to struggle with the shell. The mac and cheese had a great creamy sauce with panko breadcrumbs to top. While the name is deceiving, you aren't going to be dining along picturesque Maine coastline, don't let the strip mall location device you. Upon arrival we were lucky enough to snag an outdoor table to enjoy a dwindling summer evening meal. While the service was on the slower side (I imagine due to staffing shortages) our server was great! I started with a Sea Monster martini, look at the beautiful blueish green color it tasted equally as good. Made with Hypnotiq, Pineapple Juice, and one or two other ingredients, that I've sadly forgotten. To eat, I went with the fried chicken sandwich, which was humongous by the way! I asked for the spicy aioli on the side and it turned out to not be that spicy. My fiancé went with the shrimp tacos and asked for less cajun season, the kitchen delivered! Great service! We were seated quickly, and everyone was friendly. The seafood pasta was rich and flavorful, and everything was very fresh.

My wife and I went with two other couples this past weekend during their grand opening. They had their "soft" open quite awhile ago. I must say that I have mixed feelings about this place. I would have probably rated it 3.5, but my wife really liked her scallops so I rounded up to 4 stars. Pros: Lots of good things on the menu. My wife loved her baked scallops... I tried them as well and they were very well done. Another guest at our table loved her firecracker shrimp. I liked the homemade potato chips and the sweet potato fries were very good. My fried oysters were good but were a bit bland and would have benefited from some seasoning. So-so's: The waitstaff was friendly but inconsistent. Food service was also awkward. It is uncomfortable when 5 out of 6 people get their meals and one person has to wait at least 5-7 minutes. No one wants to start eating out of politeness, but everyone's food is getting cold. When we entered Pepper's Landing, the ambiance was perfect. Clean, and smelled delightful! Unlike other seafood establishments, Pepper's Landing made it very enjoyable to dine inside or outside. The staff were all dressed appropriately, the restaurant was clean, and the fresh smell of this restaurant was remarkable. We were greeted, and there was no wait at all. The food was fresh, as you could tell the right preparations were made. There was no greasy taste with the platter. The lite breaded scallops, shrimp, and haddock with whole belly clams were all splendid. The mussels were very tasty. We witnessed a birthday celebration and a singalong by the staff. The service was excellent and was worth every penny. I was so impressed with the whole experience I had to speak to the manager. When dining out while on vacation often times it's hard to find an establishment where the local folks go. Pepper's Landing is a local fav! Yelp got us there our first night but the amazing food and service got us back the following evening. Lobster tanks in view reinforced "fresh". Our first evening I had the Brunswick (warm with melted butter) lobster roll and my husband had fried clams (didn't get a picture of that dish). Both dishes were delicious with a gracious plenty. The second evening I ordered the 1.25 pound lobster and husband ordered the Haddock, huge portion. Their side salads are fresh with dark greens and ripe tomatoes. A nice selection of local craft beers. They offer specials, the Tuesday night special was a lobster trio at an amazing price. A treasure chest with toys for the kiddos.
