Desserts (Almond cake, Chocolate Dessert, Bread Pudding)

PROS: Chilean Seabass was rich and silky and the risotto under it was creamy, good main dish. Ahi Tuna tartare was also good. Desserts were also good I enjoyed the bread pudding the most! Whiskey sour cocktail was good (wish it had a bit more foam on top). Friend's main dishes also tasted good (steak frites, little bunny frou frou, gnocchi pesto). CONS: I did not like the seating we were put in outside, it's the back area near the exit of the restrooms, feels cramped and away from the more open seating area or the inside. Felt like we were eating the restaurants food but away from the main venue. To my right is the city view but most of my view was staring at my friends against the brick wall. Service was slow and if it's busy I understand, but it took 20mins to order a drink then another 15 mins for the drinks to arrive, and THEN they said one of the drinks was unavailable. Food did not take as long but it's easier to wait if you at least have a drink to sip on. I don't usually order French onion soup but this was insanely hot to eat even after 15mins it was served, cheese felt like play dough did not eat much of it. Personal side note: Glass tables always show smudges and don't look good imo. Overall: Main dishes were great, service was slow but nice, sidewall seating sucks, if you can - try to sit inside or right outside near the couches. P.S. Valet was $20

Such a great brunch experience at Perch! The atmosphere is beautiful, especially with the amazing views of Downtown LA, and it's the perfect place for a relaxing weekend brunch. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the drinks paired perfectly with brunch. What really made the experience stand out was the service -- everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of without ever making us feel rushed. Great food, beautiful views, and a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely one of those places where you can sit back, enjoy the moment, and have a really nice brunch with friends or family. We had such a lovely time and will absolutely be back!

Wonderful venue for drinks and French cuisine. The menu is focused on French inspired cuisine but adapted for the American palate. The cocktail menu is fine and had something from each of the major alcohol categories. Many visit for the view and rightly so. Arriving just before sunset is a perfect time to take in the downtown skyline. The main dining area is two floors below the rooftop on level 13 so if you want to see the highest vantage point head over to the roof where you will find a bar and patio tables and chairs. Parking is valet.

For over a decade I've always relied on Perch as my go to spot in downtown between this and the Biltmore hotel Pershing Square is a great place for a leisurely romantic themed hang. This restaurant has two different cultures daytime brunch in the sky and nighttime date night. It's a great blend of architecture atmosphere for this high volume. High energy exciting space. The great servers are well trained at high volume so are the hostesses and hosts who see you and know the lay of the land. Their is a no-bs attitude to the host stand which is not as welcoming as one would like especially on a date night. Perch is notorious for being backed up due to their 'elevator sitch' so just know that the reservation time you have made and the time you are called to be seated can be upwards of 45 minutes later. But the rooftop and bar area are perfectly positioned for those who are waiting. The lower energy bartending staff seems very over-it but I blame the sadly-entitled clientele for this! However, The food we had made up for all of this though and was truly wonderfully made. The charcuterie was one of the largest in the entire city. The salad with salmon was perfect to split, and our awesome server was able to do so between two plates. I loved the Chicken Supreme. And our beautiful sorbet Treo to accompany it. This is a great date night place however think early think Sunset if you would like a more European urban vibe because as the sunsets this place becomes very very different. The patron go from sipping champagne in the early afternoon to downright loud and very trashed at night many patrons loudly. The trending but the very unaware habit of loudly FaceTiming one's friend for the duration of their meal with no regard whatsoever for any other diner, will sadly be unchecked. Also, as it gets even later, the client tell switch is entirely to what can know cannot be any better described than as 'ratchet'. Perch loses it luster, and it becomes a holding pen for cat fights, and potential nighttime brawls but if you're celebrating an anniversary through it in the early. And a larger baby shower should ONLY be during the brunch hours of the beautiful daytime. Thank you to all that do make Perch wonderful we have and will continue to go to your beautiful space. We will and have continued to recommend (and still warn) people about this place for a decade. The great parts of Perch are still very much what makes DTLA a great experience in the sky. Please Stay Safe & Thank You!

The pros: The ambiance of this place was perfect. We had dinner with beautiful rooftop views, intimate lighting, and an upscale feel. They even had a band playing live with a wonderful singer. The cons: The food was mediocre at best, especially for the price. The truffle fries were lukewarm and soggy. The braised short rib was grossly unflavored. The chicken had good flavor but not a lick of salt. The broccolini was also not enjoyable. I barely ate my food, and it was not worth taking home. Also, I put in the reservation that it was my friend's birthday. We asked to split the check which she didn't. Then I had to track down the server to have her send over the birthday treat. This place has a lot of potential, especially for a date night. However, the food has a lot of room for improvement.

Who doesn't love a good meal & a good deal!? Went to experience Dine LA to experience their friday lunch 4-course prix fixe at $45 per person. Such a great value!! The truffle fries are absolutely delicious and they complement the steak so well! I just wasn't too crazy about the charcuterie. They should switch out the bread and either give crackers instead or in addition.

The decor is old world , sea shanty style. It has a nice roof top section that allows you to downtown from the 15th floor. It's a nice view. Parking was a bit of a problem so I took advantage of the valet service. 17.50. For valet. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. It came out on a bed of mushroom risotto. This meal was awesome. My friends said what they had was good but I forgot what they ordered. Service was excellent as well.

This might be one of the best rooftop experiences I have had in my life. I appreciated the whole vibe from the old Gatsby-esque elevator situation to the food. We had suitcases which were handily stored for us in a closet at the elevator transfer station (amazing). Food was 10/10 I got the french onion soup and the boneless spare rib. Spare ribs melted in my mouth and fell apart with the touch of a fork. French onion soup was solid. Wish I had stayed longer on the top floor for more drinks, but I will be back.

Cool vibe. Good food. Nice views. Friendly staff. Portion sizes could definitely be a little bigger considering the price point and valet will be the only parking option.

Perch is located inside the Pershing Square Building. Take the elevator to the 13th floor. From there, if you're dining, take the other elevator to the 14th floor, or head to the 15th floor if you're going to the bar. My party had a reservation and arrived a little early, so we waited in the bar area on the 14th floor. The restaurant is beautiful, from the chandeliers and furniture to, of course, the city views. For a Wednesday, the restaurant was extremely busy and service wasn't the most attentive, but it was still good overall. On a less busy day, I imagine it would be better. The steak frites were great. The steak was flavorful, the sauce was good, and the cheese truffle fries were amazing. I also really liked their Sunset Spritz from the cocktail menu. There are lots of photo opportunities as well. My group got to enjoy the beautiful views and weather from sunset into the nighttime.

This place is hyped for a reason. I dont even mean to be dramatic, but it really is just that good and id go back over and over. My friend and I got the chilean sea bass, Filet Mignon, pork belly, and truffle fries to try, all of which were just perfect. The fries were the best ive ever had and theyre GENEROUS with the sauce. The service was alright, very friendly, just wish they were more attentive, but still better than alot of other places. Ambiance is very nice, one of my favs so far. I reccomend making a resevation at 7 (when the live music starts) it adds to the entire rooftop vibe and they actually play really good songs.

l've been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile. We finally got in and I think it was worth it. The service was great and the food was amazing. We had the preset menu. The starters especially the Pork Belly and the baked Brie were super yummy. My short rib was absolutely melt in your mouth. The sea bass was also a winner. We had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding and the Chocolate Pot de Crème. Both were delicious. I am usually do not like to eat outside because l am a clean freak and don't like bugs sharing my food. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was up on the roof. No bugs in sight. My only one suggestion is that a purse hanger or stool would be nice. Thank you.

Wife made us a reservation here since we were going to be downtown. We dressed up to come to this restaurant based on other reviews.... Ok so first no dress code you can literally come in pajamas so no dress code. We did the 4 course meal and this was really good I did the chicken supreme and it was delicious! Dessert was also delicious! For drinks I had a old fashioned with whistle pig 12yr and this was so smooth! Service was ok not that attentive from the actual server the staff that was picking up plates and serving the food was on point but just for a heads up for anyone coming here for the first time like we did, they do charge automatic gratuity for any party size. The views were basic nothing great around that area as far as scenic just other high rises but other then what I mentioned this is a great spot to visit once for the experience !

The ambiance has a perfect speakeasy vibe with its dim lighting and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to just hang out and grab a quality drink. The cocktail program here is absolutely phenomenal. I am pretty picky when it comes to whiskey, and since Manhattans are my absolute favorite, my expectations were high. They mixed an incredible Manhattan that was perfectly balanced with the right sweet vermouth, and their Old Fashioneds are crafted with an attention to detail that really lets the spirits shine through. We also ordered a few Paper Planes, and they were dangerously good, hitting that perfect sweet and sour note that makes you want to immediately order another round. Having been here many times over the past decade, I've discovered some great bourbons, scotches, and had some great cocktails. But those days are unfortunately in years past. In a place that prides itself in its whisky, the bartenders are sorely lacking in their knowledge around their own bar. With an extensive selection, I don't expect them to know everything, but bartenders not knowing what is meant by a neat pour (straight out of the bottle into the glassware, no ice, and not mixed) was unexpected. I'm getting the impression that while they still mix old fashioneds, a scotch such as Ardbeg is now an unusual and baffling request. I've been here a handful of times in the past few months, and it can be lively or dead, but it's now just any other bar. If you want a fun cocktail you can find anywhere else, this place will do, but unfortunately it's lost what has separated this bar from any of the other bars in dtla.

When a place puts this much effort into creating a particular world, dressing the part really does make the experience more fun. The spirits themselves were excellent. We tasted vodka, whiskey, and rum, and all three were remarkably smooth, interesting, and clearly very high quality. I loved that the tasting was guided rather than just having drinks dropped in front of us. The storytelling and presentation made us pay attention to what we were actually tasting and gave the evening a nice sense of progression. We also happened to be there while comic artist Matt Harley of Marvel fame was sketching, which felt perfectly suited to the setting and made an already unusual night even more memorable. This was the last stop in a night where Conrad and I stepped out to LA to have a good time. So by…read morethe time I got there I was tipsy. I was not falling down the stairs, nor was I slurring my words, nor was I misaligning my pool shots, but I was definetely feeling the good inside my blood. I note this, not to highlight my cool factor as if I was a frat bro in a Florida party school, but more to describe how my experience was fogged by my consumption. This place was definetely a hot spot to hit, but I just will not be able to descrbie everything with speicifc detail, more, broad strokes of a good time. The place is reached by going down a flight of stairs, which feels like one is going to catch the J line in New York. I think I felt this more because of the Spring St sign- a famous stop in NY, NY. As soon, I got there, the goal was to continue the good time and this place allowed that at a reasonable price. They had these can drinks that I really responded and they were only 7 dollars. Ok, I know that saying something is only 7 dollars in this economy can seem out of touch. But a drink in LA most of the time will run you at least 12 to 16 dollars, and I think it is mostly on the 16 side. So finding a 7 dollar drink in a hot spot is refreshing. It was a Suncruiser- a vodka spirit based drink- that was part of their specials for their night. maybe is more expensive on other nights when it is not on special? After the drink Conrand and I stepped into their floor. It was the first time we were there and it is basically a basement game room on whatever it is that Bane takes to make himself go from puny human to muscle-on-muscle-on-muscle villain. There is a lot of pool tables maybe like 5, and I saw ping pong, and other table games. Additionally, instead of a speaker or a recorder- the one's that spin old timey records- there was a band. I took a short video of the band but I could not tell you if this band was good or bad or their name or their style of music. I was partly present, and I just heard the music, I did not appreciate the performers. It happens. So Conrad and I play all the time together. And I saw a guy playing by himself. We quickly introduced oursevles and then we played pool. Here is the thing that I am happy to write about this place. Unline a regular bar with a pool table, where every one knows your name, this place had the opportunity to meet new people. And I enjoyed playing with this guy. He was a new challenge. He had fresh stories. And he offered a view of the world I enjoyed. So this place offers the opportunity to meet new people over a game of pool. If pool is your thing than this place will make you happy an if pool is your way of meeting new folks then this place will make you happy and give you opportunities to find the folks you imagine you need in your life. In the final analysis, I want to go here again, and experience the place more broadly. Not sure if I will write a new Yelp, because even though I bared bone this one, it still gives the primary messages I want to. And to the guy who I played with thanks for having a good time with me, even if it was short. And sometimes, short, can be just enough.

After picking thru it because I was hungry, I spoke to an manager and he just seemed as if I was not being honest, so I pulled the broken bread pieces out to show him; and he didn't offer anything in return. I won't be back.
