    My delicious cocktail

If you're a fan of Yacht Rock and enjoy stiff drinks with skilled bartenders, Perry's on the Embarcadero in San Francisco is a must-visit. We stopped by for a quick drink while waiting for our ferry ride. We arrived just before the dinner crowd, around 4 p.m., and the restaurant was still relatively empty. The staff was incredibly accommodating and eager to assist us. Although we had just finished lunch, we couldn't resist having a drink in the bar. Our bartender was exceptionally friendly and personable, and his cocktails were fantastic. We were so captivated by him and our conversation that we almost missed our ferry. I'm already looking forward to returning to Perry's to try their food. The overall experience was truly pleasant, and I particularly enjoyed the yacht rock playlist that was playing throughout the restaurant. It perfectly complemented our cocktails. I highly recommend Perry's to anyone who appreciates Yacht Rock and wants to enjoy a great drink with a friendly bartender.

Went for brunch last Sunday with my family and a friend of us! Nothing really stood out, but it's a nice place close to Embarcadero for taking a walk after the brunch! It's also good they have a kids menu.

Challah French Toast and the Eggs Benedict (ordered California Benedict but gave us the wrong one with ham instead)

Went for Sunday brunch. The Challah French toast was yummy, and the potatoes that came with the California Benedict were really well-seasoned and cooked. The California Benedict itself sounds great with avocado, tomato, and spinach, but the kitchen messed up. First off, they brought us the wrong order--a benedict with ham and no spinach or avocado. Neither me nor my friend eat ham, and on top of that, the yolk was completely hard. We let the waiter know and they brought us a replacement. Unfortunately, the new California Benedict still had a hard yolk. When we pointed this out, the waiter told us the yolk is typically hard for their benedict and that we have to specify. Not only does a hard yolk completely defeat the point of eggs benedict, but we did specify when we re-ordered... By this point, we didn't want to send it back a second time because we were already tired of waiting. It was a busy time for the restaurant so the initial wait was long, and having to wait even longer because of their mistake just dragged the whole meal down. The waiter did hook us up with soda on the house because of the mess-up, which was a nice gesture, but the experience just wasn't worth it. Atmosphere is pretty nice with a view of the water, but don't come here for the food.

Solid meal, great staff, easy parking/transit drink BART or Muni, relaxed ambience. This was a perfect meeting place for friends on a Sunday night as I live in SF but friends live in East Bay. Everything was great. All their other sandwiches and salads looked great. I didn't see any other main entrees ordered. Would recommend- this is an easy crowd pleaser place for families or picky eaters.

I was in SF on a short trip. I thought I would give this place a try. I give the food 5 out of 5. I ordered the pot roast with mashed and brocolli w/ carrots. And the cornbread was sweet and tasty. I would have given 5 stars but service was really slow. I took over 25 minutes to have someone bring me water and take my order. Once the order was taken my food came out pretty fast but it just took so long for someone to take my order. I thought they forgot about me. I will be dining there again on future trips, because I really liked my meal. The ambiance of the place was also pleasant.

Beautiful views, great service and good drinks. It's a more affordable place to dine around the area and the outside seating section faces the bridge. Definitely give it a try.

After a carby lunch in Union Square and a 10k step walk around the area, a college buddy and I decided to grab....more carbs at Perry's. This time around it would be beers. The Dodgers were in town and the joint was filled with a few fans. My animosity toward the team from SoCal has waned over the decades. Yet, I still wanted to yell at fans, "Take off that hat!!!!". Just kidding. On the upside it was a classy joint and the service was good. Plus, the beers were cold. What more could a couple of old, ugly guys ask for. A tip of the cap to our server who quickly cleaned up a spilled beer when my buddy accident knocked over his half-filled pint glass. Add bonus, the server refilled the glass free-of-charge. Was that heaven or what? I think I found a new watering hole in the City. Perry's made us merry. Now for the pic.

Perry's was a nice respite by the embarcadero, but there's not much else around, and their prices reflect that. Simply, it underwhelmed. I got a Manhattan, and a cheese quesadilla, while The Wife had the Mac and cheese and grilled artichoke. All of it tasted fine. But for the money, we could have had something more substantial and enjoyable somewhere else, and should have looked around a bit more. It's a heck of a setting though.

Perry's on the Embarcadero is a waterfront extension of the original Perry's, which opened in 1969 on Union Street in San Francisco. Founded by Perry Butler, it aimed to bring the feel of New York's East Side bars and grills to the city. The Embarcadero location at 155 Steuart Street opened in November 2008 and offers classic American dishes. The setting features exposed brick walls and views of the Bay Bridge. As I mentioned in my original review a few years ago, this location is conveniently situated near my workplace, making it an ideal option for lunch, after-work drinks with friends and colleagues, or special occasions like farewell parties for departing coworkers. On this occasion, we gathered to bid farewell to a retiring colleague. We were set up at a great spot in the corner on Steuart Street that accommodated about thirty of us. We enjoyed a beer or two along with some delicious small bites. The service was excellent, as it always is at Perry's, and we all had a wonderful time. If you're looking to catch a game, I recommend sitting at the bar. There are a couple of large TVs that provide a good viewing experience, and the bartenders are always attentive, ensuring great service. On nice days, you might prefer sitting outside on the Embarcadero side. Otherwise, the dining area has plenty of comfortable tables that can accommodate groups of two to four people, and larger groups can make reservations in advance. The food is consistently good and made with fresh ingredients. I have always enjoyed my lunches at the bar while watching live soccer matches on TV.

Grilled Artichoke - I didn't eat this but my other lunch companion said it was ok.

Been here a few times. Most recently had lunch here with my former boss & colleagues. We enjoyed some standard American fare, great conversation and glad for an opportunity to catch up here. The food itself is kinda mid but the location is good. Right near the water. Also easy access to BART for folks living in the East Bay. Service was decent. Located on Steuart between Mission & Howard.

First time visiting. Lucky we found parting on the street. Made reservations but wasn't full. After we ordered our food it started getting packed. Service was great! Old fashioned was ok. Potato skins were great. Food was good. Our food took awhile it came out nice and hot. Restaurant was very nice. Spacious and nice bar. Warning bathroom is downstairs and I didn't see an elevator in case stairs are your enemy like me. I had to go down slowly. Check it out. Views are beautiful.

The service was amazing by SEAN! He makes the best drinks, and they also look as beautiful as his bubbly personality! Perfect spot to come to after a giants game with the fans

I made reservations a couple months back for our first dinner in SF. Although it's a casual place, based on my research, it seemed like a popular neighborhood and tourist spot and I knew after driving up from OC we didn't want to wait to eat on a busy Friday evening. Upon arrival, it didn't seem too crowded. Busy but there were still plenty of open tables and spots at the bar. I initially requested patio seating but my husband and son didn't want to be outside as it was slightly balmy. We were seated close to the windows instead to enjoy the view of the Bay Bridge. We ordered the following: - French Onion Soup: very good. Nice and cheesy, could use maybe some more bread underneath but it was solid. - Buffalo Wings: these come sauced and were really tasty! Still had a nice crunch and bite to it even though they were very saucy. - Fish & Chips: great batter on the fish, which was very meaty and flaky. Standard fries, forgettable coleslaw (does anyone even eat the coleslaw?) - Chicken BLTA: husband said this was fine. Tastes as expected! - Kids' Chicken Tenders: not sure if these are the same tenders on the regular menu but my son ate it all up and had no complaints. - Apple Brown Betty: this was a cinnamon apple crumble pie w/ vanilla ice cream on top. Very rich and delicious! - Strawberry Cake: this was literally the same cake you can get at Ralph's/Safeway, etc. They must all get it from the same supplier! Still good but def not made in-house. Total for dinner (including 3 glasses of wine, a Shirley Temple, a coffee, and tax/tip) was $205. Service was very good. Our server came by often enough and was always pleasant. Note - we entered the restaurant through the Hotel Griffon on Steuart Street. I think there might be an entrance on the Embarcadero side, too.

STOP. DROP. EAT…read more This place is an absolute gem. Food: We started with the clams and mussels, and they were phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and soak every last bit of that broth up with the bread--you won't regret it. Don also surprised us with complimentary scallops, and wow... next-level fresh. Some of the best seafood I've had. Drinks: Hands down the best margaritas I've had in California so far. I also watched Don make a Bloody Mary, and it was like watching someone craft a work of art. Every ingredient was intentional, and you could tell it was made with genuine care. Service: This deserves to be at the top because it's what made the experience unforgettable. Halfway through our meal, I realized my incredible bartender was actually the owner. Don is one of the most humble, genuine, and welcoming people you'll ever meet. His sons and daughter all work in the restaurant, and there's even a photo on the wall of his great-grandfather smoking a cigar while cooking crabs. This isn't just a restaurant--it's generations of family, tradition, and passion served on every plate. You can feel the heart behind this place the moment you walk in. Thank you, Don, for the outstanding hospitality, the amazing conversation, and a meal we'll be talking about for a long time. We'll definitely be back.

(3/5) I've been coming to this restaurant for many years,…read moreand this was the first visit that left me disappointed. Overall, the food was good, and the service was okay. However, the clam chowder tasted much more like potato chowder than clam chowder, with very little clam flavor. The bread was served warm, but it quickly became chewy, which made it seem like it had been heated in a microwave rather than baked fresh. What stood out the most was the condition of the restaurant. It looked run-down, dated, and, unfortunately, not very clean. After many years of enjoying this place, this was the first time I noticed how much it seems to have declined. I hope management takes the time to refresh the restaurant and improve the overall cleanliness because it has always been one of my go-to spots, and I'd like to see it return to the quality it once had.
