The ambiance was not bad, though. My food came out pretty quickly. The mac and cheese, supposedly made in house, tasted more like it came out of a box (like Kraft macaroni and cheese). I guess technically even if it was out of a box with dehydrated cheese and you just add milk, it is theoretically still made in-house. Basically, the mac and cheese was definitely a huge let down. The potato salad was pretty good. I enjoyed it. This was the best thing on my plate. The pulled pork was also disappointing. I have to wonder if this was bought from a food distributor. There service is awful, I've seen black spots in all the ice and ice machine when standing at the counter and have seen employees spit in food and drinks and hand it to cops and couldn't believe it when I saw it. I asked about that and they said, "I don't like them." I'm assuming they meant that person, but that could be towards cops. I'm unsure. It's tacky looking, smells horrible and really doesn't look like a well kept building, which it isn't (just judging from having two fires in under 6 years). From what I understand no insurance for full-time employees is offered and people are grossly underpaid. I was able to ask a few employees and asked about their hours and it was kind of depressing. I also was able to catch a glimpse of them making the lemonade and pudding. None of it is real or made from scratch. It's all packaged product and sugar basically mixed together in tubs or pans. It was just so much sugar. Enough to give an elephant diabetes. I saw from the counter how they stored their pork. I'm assuming in a walk-in, but it's stored in horribly used containers. It's literally tin foil wrapping and if it tears then so be it I guess. Nothing seems to be stored properly. Black mold all throughout the building. I could see it in the bathroom, and the dining room so I could only assume it's throughout the building. A former employee told me they were forced to work in hazardous snow conditions and after they were injured. They did not help them medically. Also the smoke from this place will destroy your hair and eyes. I saw some before and after photos of a person's hair line and prescription. Just steep decline in under a year from conditions. The doctor's told them that. And also at the end of the day the food just tastes so horrible. Just please stay away is my best advice.

I was in Hermitage, Tennessee and when I saw the familiar name, I figured that this would be dinner. The building itself doesn't scream opulence, but hey, it's barbecue and there is nothing fancy about barbecue, but barbecue is a culinary wonder. The staff here were friendly and the food was good. I rolled up to the drive-through window to be greeted by a less enthusiastic teenager who seemed to bothered I was even there. I told her today's my first time here what do you recommend... And she just looked at me and said what kind of meat do you want? She wasn't able to answer any of my questions, and she was not friendly at all. While I was ordering, she was staring off, not writing anything down and then when she told the cook, what my order was, she had to come back twice to ask me what I wanted again. I told her there was only two of us eating and I wanted to try a little bit of everything and she just stared at me so I just ordered a 2 pound meal that came with sides. I asked her if I could get half turkey half pork and she said yes. I ordered beans and potato salad and got a loaf of cornbread. I received the food pretty quickly, so that's a plus! About an hour later, I begin to prep the food for dinner and noticed it was all pork. So I called and said hey can I come back down and exchange this? I was supposed to have half pork half turkey.. The manager on the phone told me to bring the food and the receipt and I could get it fixed, so I drove down there and she tells me that it's going to be an up charge for the difference. It's going to be a little more than what I paid. Mind you I don't even have shoes on, I was in the middle of preparing dinner and jumped in the car to come down there to fix their mistake... So I told her I don't have my wallet. I don't even have shoes on, and the girl never told me there was a higher fee for that... Not to mention I just drove back down here because of your mistake. I was pretty appalled that they took the meat, typically if food has been taken all the other places I've been to have said just keep it. We can't take it back... But we'll get you a new one. Not saying I wanted free food or ask anything extra... But it did make me wonder what they were doing with the pork that had been to my house, opened repackaged and taken down there. So then I asked for more barbecue sauce because with 2 pounds of meat, they only gave me two little shot glass containers of barbecue sauce. She then asked me if I wanted to buy a jar of barbecue sauce, to which I replied, no I'd like to have more barbecue sauce for the 2 pounds of meat that I bought from you. Anyway, long story short, the turkey ended up being dry, the pork was good and the rest was just OK. I spent $73, so needless to say I was pretty annoyed that night.
