We recently went to Perry's Steakhouse & Grille to celebrate my dad's birthday, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was excellent--everything came out perfectly cooked and full of flavor. You can really tell they take pride in the quality of their steaks and sides. What really stood out though was the service. The staff was awesome--very attentive, friendly, and made sure my dad's birthday felt special without being over the top. I have to say at the beginning of my review that when I look at a chain restaurant, such as Perry's, there is naturally a comparison from the best to the worst. Keep that in mind with my lower score. The Perry's at this location is a perfectly fine steakhouse however, when I'm comparing it to other locations that I have visited, it comes across as older and in need of some pizzazz. I also noted that the wait staff looked much younger and less seasoned than I have experienced at other Perry's. My meal was in nowhere comparison to other locations that I have visited. My fillet at this location was seared well done on the outside while rare in the middle. This was disappointing being that I had ordered it medium. I was appreciative of the nice dessert for my birthday but Overall this location is just adequate. It is not one I would pick for that special location. read more

There's an option to valet or park for free in the Macy's lot which is right next door. The interior is dimly lit, intimate, and nicely decorated. Right when I was seated, the server brought out some bread. I don't know what they put in that bread but I almost ate the whole loaf before appetizers even came out. After dinner was over, I also got some to go and ate it all the next day. For drinks, I ordered the Peachy Glen since that was recommended by the server when I asked for their sweetest drink- and it did not disappoint! As for food this is what I ordered: Perry's Famous Pork Chop Bites Blue Point Oysters on the Half Shell Beef Wellington Three Cheese Mac and Cheese For appetizers, I would personally skip the oysters. They were good but they weren't shucked very well which made it difficult to eat. The pork chop bites were fantastic though- I'd go back just for those. It has a perfect sweet glaze to it and the pork is very tender and moist. To accompany the entrée, I ordered the 3 cheese mac and cheese. To be honest, it wasn't my favorite but my friend had some leftovers and he really liked it so it's personal preference. I was super excited to try the Beef Wellington and it lived up to the hype! Right away, the aroma of rosemary hits your nose which is always pleasant. The filet was perfectly cooked medium rare and was so tender and juicy. The puff pastry exterior was flaky and buttery, the prosciutto was savory/salty, the duxelles was delicious, and I loved the truffle merlot demiglace. Overall, the food was fantastic, the ambiance was lovely, and the service was great- looking forward to coming back and trying out other items on the menu. read more

Today I better understood why Mr. Picky likes to order the mixed green salad with apple and candied pecans. I usually stick to my favorites of a blue cheese wedge or their delicious Caesar salad, but today I tried his favorite and you know what, I totally loved it! I'm going to order that again next time I'm in. They have a wonderful side which is the corn Brulé, and Mr. Picky ordered that as usual for his entrée. It's designed for two people but he will not even share a bite with me. I ordered my usual Butcher Burger. My brother laughs at me for being the only person he knows in Houston who won't eat a drive-through burger and insists on going to Perry's -- and I always reply that yes, that's true, but I'm also one of the only people in his circle who actually knows what is in their burger meat because Perry's grinds it themselves. -:). That is a very big deal to me. Dessert was a tough decision and so we both ordered our favorite flourless chocolate cake, but did take a piece of the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake home to share later tonight as our waitress Hannah had said it was her favorite. Once again, our waitress Hannah was phenomenal, incredible memory for her returning customers and their preferences. Very impressive. Had the absolute best experience here today. Service was amazing, the whole staff was attentive and kind, the location was intimate and relaxing and not overwhelmingly noise which we enjoyed. They have little blameless candles on the table which are always a nice touch. The food was superb, my filet was fantastic , pork chop is always hands down a star. I felt like a big ole kid drinking this! The way my face lit up about these bubbles was unreal. Aside from the gorgeous look the drink was very good! I had my birthday dinner at Perry's & Nora handle every detail. The hubby & I usually sit in the bar area, service is great & you can watch the game or enjoy date night. The wedge salad is yum, lobster bisque is delicious, but rich for sure, I do like to try their seasonal items, you can never go wrong with the chateaubriand or pork chop. I've been to Perry's 3xs now and the service is always great. I'm not much of a steak person so it's unfortunate there's only one chicken dish to choose from- chicken Oscar. The bread is horrible. I wish they would change it out. It's not even good with butter. The truffle spinach dip was yummy! Def recommend. The husband ordered a ribeye and it was cooked to perfection and really tasty. Went to pick-up $300+ prime rib Fathers Day lunch order. When my 4 yr old son and I arrive, we are first pointed to the bar to pick-up our order, then pointed to the manager to pick it up. He proceeds to tell me I can't pick it up inside, and my son and I need to go walk around behind the building and wait outside the building in the sun to pick it up. I frequent this location often, dine in and pick-up, and this is the first time I've ever been told I'm not allowed in the restaurant. I'm the only one out back behind of the restaurant, nobody else seemingly asked to go wait behind the building, and food eventually brought to us. I get home, prime ribs over cooked and tough as rubber. Side salads, grilled veggies and mash potato's good as always, however. This will be the last time I go to Perry's, value too low and food quality too questionable to tolerate rude service. Would suggest others may also want to seek better steakhouse options read more

Sometimes that results in a "less than" service. My money is still green and SCOTT knew it. He was so wonderful and made amazing suggestions. I had the rosemary lemon drop (could have used some rosemary syrup or more than just the sprig) which was lovely 4/5. Half a dozen blue point oysters followed. They were super fresh! I'm more of a "pick from our selection of 10" kind of gal but I know the oyster selection in Texas can be limited. For my main, I had the sea bass. It absolutely blew me out of the water!! Mother's Day disaster! Of all my visits to Perry's this was the worst experience I have ever had so let me explain. Either our server was incompetent or indifferent from start to finish. It was a comedy of errors. It started with a 10 minute wait for our server to reach the table and after asking for bread twice which she said was in the oven while the table next to us who had been seated 10 minutes after us got their bread immediately it was OK they're busy so be patient. She then asked were we ready to order, but she never asked for our drink order so we submitted that and waited another 10 minutes for bread and drinks to arrive. She took our order and then disappeared. Finally our entrées arrived and before my daughter could even cut her steak open to check the temperature the server was gone. Her steak which was requested as medium was almost rare so we waited and waited looking for our server. She insisted we start eating and after almost finishing our entrees I finally got the attention of the server at the next table and she immediately helped us. Now to add injury to insult after another 10 minutes, she came over and asked are you ready to box up your food and I looked at her and said my daughter never received her steak. She said oh so sorry and then comes back in five minutes with her steak. So my wife and I have finished and we wait for her to finish her steak and order dessert. My wife loves bananas foster and so we wanted that dessert and the waitress said we could have a free dessert but not that one because it wasnt available. I asked why and she said it wasn't on the list for free desserts! Ok but we still want the bananas foster and I will pay for it. Not once was an apology or even anAcknowledgement of the mistakes made offered to us. I expect better from a supposedly quality restaurant and what I got was subpar service and an attitude of indifference. Never again Perry's ! read more

This was an absolute treat. We were with friends in the Houston area and they told us we needed to try this amazing pork chop on a Friday special. In short we got these amazing pot hops that were almost 3" think and with mashed potatoes. It was insanely good. Our waitress, Jamie was fun and engaging and so perfectly attentive. She had been there 15 years and just bailed it.
