Combo Kabab on Rice or Salad Fesenjoon Joojeh Kabab

Dude... what the hell kinda sorcery is this? Incredible food from a strange, nice, but quiet man in a truck... He feeds you like you are his grandchild, sooo much food for what you pay for, takes his time, really sweet. Definitely worth it . Menu is simple and customizable sadly , sometimes google will say he's open when he's not, especially when it's raining. But he's so good to customers when he's open.

How I heard of this place: Visiting Portland, friends suggested Persian Kabab as the best in the city. It was out of the way last time, but we made it be on our way this time. Type of cuisine: Persian food in a Southwest food cart! Ambiance: It's a food cart, so less to write about, as it faces the street, along with about a dozen other carts serving Mediterranean, Mexican, Japanese and other meal options. The cart is pink with a sketched drawing of the proprietor, who looks just like the drawing! What I ordered: We selected a mixed combo (joojeh & Loo idea kababs) with rice and BBQ tomatoes (additional $1 each). The two meals were served in a foil container "to keep it hot" (a nice, thoughtful touch), with fresh basil, and spicy red onion on the side. What I loved: the joojeh (chicken breast) kabab was juicy, fresh and perfectly seasoned. The rice was flaky and lightly greasy, which we loved. BBQ tomatoes can't be missed! Why I loved it: Friendly proprietor, delicious food, and a pink-painted cart! Cost: Average

Amazing time and a kind guy he will hook you up! Great service and food from a rich culture. If you love kebab he does the street food style well.

One of the things I crave the most in the city of Portland. I cannot express in words how much I love this place + how kind the man who owns it is. I will say... I think they have changed the recipe from when I first had it and I liked it more before BUT it's still amazing. FOOD: Always get the double chicken plate and used to get the lamb but it doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore. This time around, got the beef as well and it was very good. Still think the chicken is my fave. The rice is sooo good. I wish I could eat it every day + the yogurt on the side is a must. AMBIANCE: Not much of an ambiance to report since it is a food cart. Parking could be a bit tricky because it's on a weird street but there is street parking around it. SERVICE/PRICE: Service is always so good, super nice. Price is fair for the quality and happiness this food provides me. Food: 4.7 Ambiance & Cleanliness: N/A Price Point: 4.5 Overall Experience: 4.6

Mmmmmm so amazingly delicious!! I've been wanting to try this food truck for such a long time and I finally decided to drive over the bridge to Portland to taste this yummy goodness. I'm so happy I did because this surpassed my expectations. Literally the best Persian kebab place in Oregon. I've been to many Persian restaurants before in Oregon and none were as good this place! Staff/owner is super kind and goes out of his way to make sure you receive the best quality food. The portion are large and the food is so delicious and filling. This is the best, authentic Persian food place you can find here. Great value for money. The chicken joojeh kebab was so juicy and fresh and the lamb koubideh was also super tasty and well seasoned. The texture was a tiny bit hard and chewy but I'm not sure if it was because we ate our food 15 mins after we got it because we had to drive somewhere to park. Overall, an amazing experience. I will definitely be coming back and bringing my family here too.

The best kababs my husband and I have ever had! This place is so underrated. The portions are generous for the price and the flavor is definitely there. Amazing place

Persian is one of my favorite cuisines. For years, it sort of got lost with Mediterranean in Portland, but now there's at least two specialty carts. Service took longer than at other carts, the guy was nice though. I opted for a simple Koobideh over rice, it came with rice, tomatoes, and a sauce. There's options on the menu that are good value and others with high price points. As some know, Persian rice is in itself a delicacy and when made properly it's the focus of the dish, rather than a side. Here, it was just okay. I'd go back to sample more of the menu. For now, it's A-Ok, which equates to a 3-Star.

I came in on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm and was shocked to find they were sold out of tahdig, which was the one thing I was looking forward to. I found it odd that they didn't prepare extra for a weekend dinner but that's okay. Our party loved the lamb shanks and kebabs! The lamb shank was so tender and not gamey at all. And the kebabs was one the best kebabs I've had! There weren't too many customers when we came so hopefully it'll ramp up more once they are more settled into their new place.

Reviewing the menu, there were lots of yummy things to choose from but ultimately we both could not resist the Lamb shank. I'm sad I didn't take a picture of it. It was so tender and delicious. It came with perfect Basmati rice and a side of eggplant stew that was exquisite! I've never had eggplant stew and it was luscious. I dream to about it all night long. It was quiet, comfortable, music was great; songs we all know but with native instruments and flare. We had house red wine - not a big selection of alcohol, which is fine the food is and should be the star. My first impression as we entered here was: the AC was on, and I'm not ready for AC (yet), and the inside was too elegant, and empty. We waited awhile, when a staff appeared. We picked a seat outside, where the weather was pleasant and shady. I needed badly, to use the restroom, so I went back inside, only to be told it's outside. The mural on the walls, obscured the door to the restroom. But, there was no TP, no paper towel, and the trash was full. I had to use a toilet seat cover paper, for my TP, and went back to my seat, not happy with what I just did! I told my husband, who then told the staff, because HE need to use the restroom, too. (We've been gone all morning, this is now lunch hour). The staff gave water, menu and we ordered: The Lamb Shank. I love the eggplant stew! There's also a small salad with the Basmati rice. Also Chicken Kabob Mezza Platter with Pita bread. It was not until we're done eating, and ready to get up, did I notice there was cubed cucumber in the thaziki. But, it's got a very strong vinegar flavor, but I did like the hummus and the ghanoush. (When we eat at these places, we always pick the lamb shanks, btw). I had the other half, for my dinner tonight. The server was friendly, helpful and responsive. The atmosphere, was pleasant, and the photo taken of me, hubby thought I could pass as an Iraqi woman! LOL Thanks for the bag. We picked some crabapples, from down the street, there were 4-5 large trees ready for the pickin' from the sidewalk.
