Thee waiter was amazing, he understood the mission and was tipped very well. But the bartenders, and the hostesses brough the experience down to a lowly one star.

Food quality is ok, I've been to better places with better food quality per price. We went in today and had 4 simple meals, ended up paying $90 for 2jars if their specialty drink, and 4 adult entrees. I think that's pretty sketchy due to the fact that there was no adults on premises at the moment. There was only 3 young (most likely teens) servers. We did our total and it came up to $77 not $90. Aside from that, I walked in 10mins after my family and nobody brought me silverware to eat with I had to use my brothers dirty fork and knife. unless you want to get Ripped-off I recommend you check them out otherwise I don't suggest throwing your money away for poor quality service. The place was dead on a Saturday afternoon, you would expect a lot more customers. read more

Peru Café Express is a solid spot for Peruvian food in Houston. The dishes are consistently good, and the flavors feel fresh and comforting. The chicha morada is awesome -- easily one of the best in the city -- and their ají sauce is really, really good, the kind you end up putting on everything. Service it's always good. My only wish is that the menu had a bit more variety or maybe introduced new items each year. The food is tasty, but adding a few rotating dishes would make the experience even better. This is the first time my family and I try this restaurant. I never tried Peru food before but did visit some restaurants serving food from South America. The food is OK, but it is overpriced. I call it is a place providing the service as its name, "cafe", "express", but the price is for a "restaurant". For the same price, we could have enjoyed a great meal at a more upscale restaurant in a nicer location with a more professional service, such as Cheesecake Factory in Galleria. CJ read more

Very solid ceviche. Probably the best I have been able to find in Houston. Coming from Miami my wife and I have been spoiled with some of the best Peruvian food in the US but this little place has some great ceviche. They can give you your own picante on the side so you can tirarte how spicy you like it. The portion size is very acceptable and pricing is reasonable. Give it a try! read more
