Pescado is a fantastic place in 30a Escapes to enjoy a drink with a 7 star, roof-top view. This was a cocktail and appetizer stop for us. What a way to start the evening! Enjoyed some craft cocktail specials and they even got creative with a couple off menu drinks. Though we didn't order a full meal from their interesting - high end menu - a couple in our party enjoyed a clams & mussels app. Said it was great. The star of this restaurant is the view of the ocean from the outdoor seating area. Food was good but not good enough to come here just for that. Our waiter was great and the service was excellent. The wife and I split the arugula salad and pepper tuna with blue crap. I got 2 small plates for my meal. The lamb chops and pork belly. They were solid offerings but didn't blow my socks off. I have really been looking forward to trying this place ever since got to Rosemary Beach on Monday. Came around 4 o'clock as soon as they opened due to covid 19 I do not want to be in large crowds. I sat at the bar and the Staff was really friendly and the view of the gulf coast was amazing. the complementary biscuits were pretty good I started off with the raspberry tequila drink I forgot the name. It was good just really sweet and I don't really think it was worth $16. I got a bottle of wine. Can't go wrong. For dinner I ordered the filet mignon it comes with mashed potatoes and season vegetables I was not expecting asparagus it was good but it just needed a little bit more flavor there wasn't a lot of flavor going on I left a pretty satisfied. My only concern is due to the coronavirus and the extent of the coronavirus in Florida you would think that the staff wear masks at least. But overall it was a really good experience I would definitely be back cannot wait to try their brunch on Sunday! read more

My fiancé and I went here for our anniversary and made reservations 2 months in advance... When we arrived we came a little early and while we were waiting we were told three different times that our table was ready then moments later the hostess would come back to say it wasn't yet. I told the waitress it was our anniversary and she didn't say anything or congratulate us. The service was just not what I was anticipating. Overpriced and they need a new manager. Beautiful restaurant and lovely server, however management needs quite a bit of training. We ordered the $180 lobster (3lb) meal on top of the $150 starter entree and were told several ounces of our lobster meat were "not pieces that had meat". Asked for utensils to open the shells so we could get the meat ourselves and they don't provide them. Response from management was that there was "no meat" in those pieces. Sent it back and got about 3oz back. For $180 I expect 3lbs (we definitely didn't get that amount). Fair service, as I politely asked, would have been to comp our first round of drinks considering that we spent $600+ for 4 people, however the manager was so condescending that we tipped our server generously and left. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. Edit in to the restaurant's response: You must think very highly of yourselves to write such a lengthy response without even acknowledging the mistake. When someone purchases a very expensive piece of meat and you respond by telling your customer that part of it isn't there and to just forget about it, most customers would be upset. Had we pointed it out and the server taken it to the back and cut it open from the time we pointed it out it would have been fine. But, to imply that there's no meat and for us to move along with our dinner is unacceptable service. I suggested a round of drinks be comped (which costs the restaurant probably $20 in alcohol costs), which any fine establishment would have done in a heartbeat is service 101. To top it off what really got my blood boiling and where it escalated was the arrogance and general attitude of the manager. Take $20 off our bill and go away. It felt like someone crumbling a $20 bill and throwing it in our faces. I've seen your other low reviews and most mention the manager. Good thing you don't have much competition in Rosemary Beach, in Houston you'd be out of business within a year. Restaurants here provide exceptional service and people talk. We did dined several times at La Crema Tapas and not only was the food and service exceptional, the manager was so pleasant and welcoming. read more

Pescado came highly recommended to us by several friends, as well as the homeowner of our AirBNB unit. It was the perfect way to end our trip on 30A. Highly recommend reservations because it's a tiny place. Or go super early and hope for a seat at the bar. That's what we did, and lucked out. This place is the perfect place to go for a romantic or relaxing night out. The interior of the place is so soothing and beautiful. My friend and I stumbled on this place because we heard the live music coming from inside and we ended up staying for wine and dessert. Not only is the ambiance incredible but so was the pie! My wife and I recently visited a favorite place in Florida to celebrate the successful conclusion of several medical issues during the year. We made a dinner reservation at Pescado in Rosemary Beach, a restaurant that we had visited before, that had pleasant memories, super location and outstanding food. We ordered a highly recommended item from the menu. What a disappointment! When we spoke to the server he agreed at the poor preparation of the food and suggested two other items to replace the returned item. Both of those items, unfortunately, were also disappointing. We spoke to a manager who was extremely courteous and listened to our comments and said that our comments would be shared with the kitchen. On the following day I received an email from management that explained everything: "What could have been so f... up on a table that only spent $140. Greg" It became very apparent from the comment by the principal of the restaurant that the amount spent by a customer determines the quality of the food being served. It is an interesting concept of establishing restaurant quality and should be, regrettably, enough to warn others that location and view are not sufficient to warrant a return visit - ever. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area that actually serve excellent food, well prepared and do not use the amount spent by a customer as the criteria of food preparation. I have had a couple days to digest the experience we recently had while dining at Pescado. I very rarely write reviews as I know how detrimental they can be to a business, however this restaurant is doing Rosemary Beach a disservice for operating the way that they do. Not only did we find most workers there incredibly rude, they are operating on "we want the pandemic to be over so lets pretend it is"! There was no distancing, no masks inside or out (I understand it is not required but preferred in that area as every other store or restaurant we visited were), and servers leaned in inches from our faces when taking our orders. The hostess out front being unprofessional and rude should have been our first indicator that customer service was not a pillar of the establishment. Now reading the post from the owner on a review below solidifies that. Having worked in the service industry for years, it is a shame to see a place with so much potential be ruined by the experience. The view is the only redeeming quality of this place which is not worth the rest. Such a shame to have such a terrible experience while trying to enjoy family time and support local restaurants while visiting Rosemary Beach. read more

the host named Karen or Kara ruined our entire experience. I have never met a more rude employee who is more focused on being right than allowing us to eat. We were a party of 8 as a walk in and were informed that they only took parties of 6 or less- so 3 from our party ate elsewhere. She refused to allow us a spot on the list because she claimed we were 'splitting up our group to sneak in past their rules'. Once we asked for a manager to allow the 5 of us that still wanted to eat at the restaurant to be put on the list, she added our names and then allowed SEVERAL parties who were below us on the list a seat before us. I asked a few times how many people were before us and she kept telling us "i cant tell you, i have no way to know. Everything she said was rude, condescending, and extremely unclear. We waited for 3 hours and 16 minutes. When I asked her for her name she said she can't give it out, obviously because she was scared of a report. Skip this place and walk 2 minutes down the street to The Pearl. Better everything and a similar adult atmosphere. They also have live piano dinner music. I cannot speak to the quality of the food other than my one experience here, which was a seafood appetizer (tuna, lobster, etc.) that was very average. The place is nice but it is a bit pretentious. I heard the brunch was good but have not tried it. Normally, when I have an underwhelming dining experience, I return a second time and give the restaurant a second chance before posting a review. However, our bartender (short, heavy-set, younger slightly balding guy) was so rude that I am breaking protocol. The female bartender wasn't particularly friendly, either...but the guy was such a jerk that my group was embarrassed. I'm glad my friend that paid left an insulting tip so I wouldn't have to. Most people that leave bad tips don't feel good about it. I'm not saying I would never come back here, but I'm in no hurry to return and I certainly wouldn't steer anyone there. Don't put up a high-class facade and hire low-class staff. I think this is the first review I've written that penalized a bar/restaurant for bad service. read more

This place is really about the view. The food is average. At my most recent visit, I was treated poorly and spoken to in a very condescending manner by the host. We arrived at 8:15 on a Thursday night. I asked the host "about how long is the wait for 7 ppl?" "I can put you on the list but there are a few parties ahead of you". To which I replied "And about how long do you think that wait will be? 30 minutes? An hour?" He said "I have absolutely no idea, when people get up, you'll get to sit down" I said "Ok, we don't need to eat here then". That is absolutely absurd and pretentious. I wasn't aware that Pescado had a Michelin star or James Beard award. Guess what? I've dined at restaurants with both and they never talked to me this way and can always estimate a wait time. It's a part of being in the front of the house. Maybe take your host through another round of customer service training. We went right over to The Pearl hotel. Was really looking forward to this dinner given the menu and location, but the night fell dismally short. First, COVID awareness: only a single waitress wore a mask during our visit. None of the hostesses, waitstaff, or bartenders wore face-coverings - beware if this is something that is important to you. Moreover, the current Florida regulations state "Restaurants may operate at 50 percent seating capacity inside and full capacity outside with appropriate social distancing. Patrons may only receive service if seated" However, the seats of the patrons at the tables next to us were less than 2 feet away. Moreover, although she was initially told she would require a chair, the bartenders continued to serve a woman standing within 6 feet of us at the bar for nearly 2 hours while she remained standing. Second, the service: we were seated promptly for our 8:45 reservation, but our first round of drinks did not arrive for nearly 20 minutes, with no explanation. We were seated for nearly 30 minutes before our orders were taken. While one appetizer arrived promptly, the other - a beet salad - remained suspiciously missing for another 30 minutes until we reminded the waitress that it had not been delivered. We would have ordered more wine, but no one brought a wine list despite us asking. At this point, another half-hour wait for our entree - the Chef's Feast - during which time it was clear that our waitress had forgotten about us. We watched her bustle around the tables inside, had multiple waitstaff walk past our empty table, and even the maitre'd, who checked on every table around us and went on his way. When she realized she had neglected us - and our food which had clearly been sitting under the warmers for a good while - she bustled over with no apology and delivered the food. Overall, some of the worst service I have ever received. Food: the chef should be commended, as the food itself was excellent, well-seasoned, and fresh. In fact, the food was the only thing saving this from being a one-star review. Overall: good food, but not worth the service, the price, or the willful negligence in the face of a global pandemic. read more

Amazed that no masks worn by any wait staff or hosts! Our group was all vaccinated so we stayed. So far, this was only restaurant in area where staff didn't where masks. But we will not be returning. We strongly support restaurants doing their part to stop Covid spread. Bizarre that waiter reached over to get my water glass and his mask-less face was inches from mine.
