Eddie happened to be an expert in all things regarding our tank size, the water, the plants... And we even made a few mistakes in our assessment of what we needed. Once again... Eddie to the rescue. This young man could easily wind up a professor of biological sciences with his incredible knowledge of these subjects. We signed up for Petco in Fairfield's puppy classes yesterday, first off the trainer was over 15 minutes late ! Then we did not have the proper form for the vaccinations. The trainer informing us was beyond rude. She treated my rescued dog as if he was a second class citizen. I understand that they require a certain paperwork, which is fine, but don't be rude about it. When the trainers manager showed up, she was just as rude. Both ladies look like they just crawled out of bed and we were bothering them. We asked for a refund and will be taking our puppy training classes, somewhere else where they respect all animals and their owners. read more

So I took my 9 pound multi-Pooh to in for the second time like the first time I wanted him to have a wash a haircut and nail trim and teeth brushed. I ran into traffic on the way to my appointment so I called petco, let the groomer know I will be 10 mins late, she said she can't take me I have to reschedule, then a girl named Megan gets on the phone, she said she will take my dog but she cannot cut his hair. I said OK fine I thanked her so I dropped him off. The groomer had an appointment with us just sitting there in the office in the front not doing anything and then I go next-door to the store and Megan calls me about 3540 minutes later and tells me that my dog ready to be picked up so I go back to pick him up and she tells me OK $83 I said for what you didn't even cut his hair you hardly washed him. He doesn't even look that clean because I gave him the extra good shampoo. In the original rumor that I had an appointment with is still just freaking sitting there I don't know what kind of shit they're running, but they lost me as a customer 83 bucks for a wash and my dog still look dirty. I don't get down like that. Don't go there. They're a bunch of rip offs, lazy rip offs. read more

started taking my dog here a couple of years ago all of a sudden, my dog is afraid to go to the groomers. The next time I try to take my dog to this Petco they would not see him. Previously He would only go to one groomer the next time I tried to take him back she tried to bite them at this point. My dog will not go to any groomer. He try's to bite them and he is traumatized. I don't know what they've done to my dog, but they definitely did something. He's eight. He's been having baths since he was born. It's been it's been a year since he's been grown. No groomer will take him at this point. read more

Employees can keep their opinions to themselves about how to train our animals. I take great care of my dogs. Yeah, I use a prong collar during training, because Cane Corsos and Dogo Argentinos are big strong dogs. They require a ton of discipline, and consistency. So, don't tell me how to train my dogs. Or tell me that it's unethical. Thanks. If it wasn't supposed to be used, it wouldn't have been created, approved, and sold in your stores. read more

Today while 37 weeks pregnant I walked in (no appt) to have a mini makeover done on my dog. They were able to see me within ten minutes-great! We have used this service for over three years and are quite familiar and satisfied with the service quality. Back story: my dog is a 4.5 year 100 lb hound and has sensitive ears to cleaning (reason for the visit). 5 minutes after the service began the lead tech Leilani ended service, brought my dog around and immediately said "she can't come back". She informed me my dog "almost broke the table" and that they can't afford to order a new one and she can't have dogs "damaging property". I agree, that nobody wants property damaged! That is not what concerns me. This stance by their lead was made 5 minutes into the service . As mentioned we have used this service location for over three years and this is the first experience like this. I expect a professional to have more patience and to make sure my dog is as comfortable as possible while in their care. Were the harnesses used? What other alternative options were available? None of this was discussed or explained to me. I didn't like how I felt like my big girl was being punished for being a large dog. My girl is big and strong but not mean or aggressive. I did not argue but was told a second time "she can't come back". I unfortunately won't be able to give my business to this location. I was issued a refund so no financial harm to seek restitution for. My only hope is for this tech to have more patience. read more

We brought our pup here last week when it was so hot we didn't want her little feet to touch the pavement. This location has a large parking lot but we still didn't have to carry her too far. The staff were all very nice and the aisles were clean. Everything was organized and easy to find. The restrooms were clean and the grooming area was calling out appointments and pushing out cute little fluffballs like a well oiled machine. They have a station with supplies to clean up after your pet in case of an accident and fresh baked treats which I love! Our dog was able to pick out two toys and two new bags of treats and we all left happy! It's a cute store and I would definitely come back. read more

The rudest interaction I have ever experienced. I needed to get crickets, and I got into line. There were quite a few people in line and I looked over to the fish area and saw an employee. I thought I would save time by asking her for some crickets. I walked over and she didn't acknowledge me, so I said "hi!" She looked over her shoulder at me, with no expression, no smile, and said she was with a customer and looked away. I stood there for a second and then asked her what the best way to get crickets were and she couldn't even look at me when she was responded. Around 3:20 Petco employee said VIP called and said they weren't coming due to "staffing issues" and said we should all come back next Sunday. No thanks! The grooming department and vaccination humans are very nice but I was there early this morning to pick up some dog food and a caucasian woman by the name of Michelle who by the way wasn't wearing a name tag. She was extremely rude and racist towards me and two other customers who also happened to not be white. But when i came back to return my item she was so very excited to give exceptional customer service to the next Caucasian couple in line. She is heavy set, with medium brown fine hair , wearing glasses, botched eyebrows, with a bad attitude just because she didn't want to get up off her barstool or stop drinking her extra large Starbucks pink drink. Now I don't mind the employees having their barstool I'm all for it but, she was very rude and nasty when i asked her for the price of a bowl that was sitting on the counter. And the other employees will have her to thank if they get their barstools taken away. She mugged me and I was taken back. When i asked her for her name she was still rude as hell. I asked her for Corporate and she didn't want to give it to me so she just said, "It's on the receipt". When i told her about her attitude she was very snide and dismissive towards me. I went in to get a few hermit crabs for my reef tank. understand that the store recently moved from one side of the freeway to the other and I can appreciate that. The parking is much, much better. However, the state of the aquatic section is very concerning. There is a clear lack of maintenance and the water parameters are nowhere near good enough to have livestock in there other than CUC. Definitely not an anemone! The staff are not trained...one associate almost filled a bag with a saltwater creature in it with water from a freshwater tank! Nothing in their tanks is healthy and it's very sad. In addition, customer service is horrible. No one acknowledges you and you have to search for someone to help you. If you find someone, they'll tell you to hold on and say they're going to get someone else to help you and then you wait until that person eventually shows up. As far as I can tell, there's no one really in charge. All the sales associates appear to be working at their very first job. Disappointed in how this store is being run and I won't be back for a while, if ever, at least for aquatic life. Hopefully they get their tanks in order and cycle them before adding anymore fish or animals. read more

Very unprofessional I dropped my dog off in the AM AND my dog was sitting there for 4 hours before they decided to groom her. They literally started on her when I walked in to inquire about what's taking so long. Stay away from this location. They also cut everything I told them not to touch. My son was ready for his first pet and after doing a lot of research, he decided on a hamster. We went to the Fairfield PetSmart last night after calling to confirm they had the kind of hamster we were looking for and made the drive over from Napa. Ky helped us meet all 5 of the girls they had and was so friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us more information than our research had and helped us pick out a travel cage for the 30 minute ride home. We were ready to check out when she remembered there was a smaller item we could use for travel that saved us about $15. She also knew helped us with an additional discount we didn't know about. Between her knowledge, kindness, and helping us get the best price, we are exceedingly grateful for Ky and feel prepared to give Madame Ham the best life. read more

My husband and son visited this location today, and were excited to find a new family pet. My son was excited about possibly bringing home a chameleon, and his dad FaceTimed me to show me the two chameleon's available. An employee yells out no photography. My husband did not want to yell across the store and went to where the employee was, and asked about the policy as it was not posted that there was no photography of the pets. The employee came across extremely defensive, stating it did not need to be posted, as she just verbally told them. My husband stated it would be helpful to have a sign posted so he wouldn't be yelled at across the store to not record, (when he wasn't recording he was on FaceTime) The employee continued to explain that there did not need to be a sign as she informed him that he was not allowed to take photos or record, and he could take it up with corporate and dismissed him by saying have a good day. The encounter was defensive and abrasive, and resulted in my son not getting his new pet after all. There was a better way of communicating company policy. read more

the front lady alison, i believe, is very rude everytime ive come in. ive asked her if she knew anything about dogfood and she judged me for getting a cheap brand, she told me to get the most expensive one. it didn't work for my dog, if your employees don't know anything or aren't qualified to talk about dog food then they should just not say anything. ANOTHER thing i work around the corner from this store and ive come in multiple times to pick up my orders, not once has anyone asked me for an ID, i understand that it's a company rule to ask for ID but the way alison went about it was very rude and unnecessary. it's not my fault your workers aren't following the rules ! read more

I wasn't going to leave a review in good faith but it's now two dogs I've taken to get groomed by Natalie at petco and both times I've had a terrible experience. She rejected my first dog because she was too difficult. So we took that dog to a different groomer who said she was fine but playful. I took my calmer dog there because I have petco premier and get a discount and she was trying to refuse him as well, saying he was not going to do well with other dogs - even though the vets at this petco praise my dog for being extremely calm and obedient. After she demonstrated the cutting procedures on him and he didn't move she realized she may be able to cut him. She asked for what type of cut I wanted for him and she requested I show her a photo. I also asked for my dog to have butt cheeks. After almost 5 hours 9:30 -2:09 my dog came out like a poodle which may be her speciality. He also seems to have an ear infection. If the ear infection happened before his cut she never mentioned it me when I picked him up nor is it on the report I was given. I also stopped by after 4 hours to see if my dog was done and I saw her shaking my dog's paw vigorously to get him he stay still while she was holding it so high up he was losing balance, so of course he's moving... read more
