Visited this bar while traveling. What makes this bar a 5 star is Carl the bartender. He is rad! Being from across the country he let me taste the local beers. I was here with a large group and I hate to review a place when that happens as it's not typically an accurate representation of a normal experience that home might have as a couple or group. The staff were extremely pleasant and nice. They were very accommodating and willing to take dirty dishes, refill water glasses etc. the food was quality. It was good. Once again it was group food so I can't comment on a particular dish etc. I would definitely try this place when in downtown Baltimore. It's not fancy but very comfortable place to watch the game or belly up to the bar for a few brews! read more

Walked right into a friendly atmosphere. Had a crush drink was amazing. My wife ordered an inner harbor and loved it. She normally will not order a drink, so this is speaking volumes. I got the French dip au jou was good. The French fries were good. The wife ordered the California burger and enjoyed it. I will be coming back to this place when I come back to visit. Garbage customer service and false advertising, the menu has an item listed for $31 and some change however the bill says $43. When I asked what caused the delta she said it is because the price changed. Evidently this establishment has never heard nor used the term market price, they just have a sign on the wall under a bunch of specials that says price can change. 30+ percent is ridiculous and should be addressed with the patron during ordering. And they wonder why people are homeless in Baltimore, could it be unethical business practices? Not to mention the crab cakes were cold. And the fries. The water was decent though. read more

Cool neighborhood bar. Read about this on yelp and always seek out local places. I stopped in for lunch as I wanted to get away from the inner harbor tourist traps. Good vibe and full of locals. I had the crab cake sandwich and it was good. Portion size was nice and the fries were really good. Service was average and what I figured it would be. Please don't take that as a negative. The service was very good even with just the bar matron running around, I never felt neglected. She was warm and friendly and checked back with me. The food (crabcake sandwich) was tasty, great fresh slice of tomato and a healthy leaf of iceberg lettuce atop a brioche bun. There are better crabcakes in the area but this one was no slouch, I'd order it again for sure. The establishment itself was just as a pub should be. This was my first time in the Baltimore harbor area. I found this great little pub with super friendly service, classic rock on the jukebox, and ice cold beer. This was my first time trying a Belgian style IPA (which was recommended by the barkeep) and it was amazing! Place was overall great on a Saturday night after the game. Just came here to say the bartender/server Marci? On 7/1 at night was absolutely fantastic running the show. Not a single table had an empty drink glass, everyone was attended to. If I ran a bar or gastropub she's exactly the person I would want working it. Nice, pleasant. Extremely convenient location for the two hotels, it's just down one short dark street and it's the place that doesn't look like much. Friendly service, a great cheeseburger, inexpensive beer. What's not to love? Several TV's tuned to the local sports channels and you can expect this place to fill up quickly after the game (Ravens or Orioles) ends. I checked the menu online before i went and planned out my dinner so i knew around how much it would cost. I was thinking a half pound of shrimp ($10) a cheese burger ($12) and a beer ($7) which would have been around $30. I went and ordered that and the check was $42 before tip. I ended up leaving paying over $50 with a tip and was disappointed in that. The food was all really good, the half pound of shrimp seemed like only 10 shrimp but i guess that's just how that goes. Overall i enjoyed my meal just had some sticker shock. read more

Great local hangout. I didn't want the big chain, corporate chew-em-up-spit-em-out experience. Emma (the only bartender there at the time) was down-to-earth, friendly, personable, and interacted with all the patrons nicely. She would immediately cleanup as a person left. Even though we're in the "mask mode" - she had a way of making us forget the issues. Anyway, the beer selection was great. The crab cakes were fresh. Fries were perfect. Went here due to proximity to the Inner Harbor but out of the tourist area. Sat at the bar and servers/bartenders were attentive and casual. I got the crab cake sandwich. At first glance I was skeptical, as it comes on a standard slice of bread (your choice, white, wheat, rye, etc.) and the crab cake is significantly smaller than the bread. Turns out when you eat it and it crushes a little it fills out the bread well. WARNING: a slice of tomato which they offer will set you back 25 cents, and tartar sauce 50 cents. I accepted their offer for both because they didn't mention the added fee. I can spare 75 cents so I didn't raise a stink, but that's unacceptable to charge for pretty much standard condiments without warning. Friend got shrimp sandwich and she was happy with it. Prices are fair, atmosphere is low key (several sports playing on tv while we were there) and the hole in the wall is somewhere I would return. read more

OK, it helps that the hubby and I absolutely love dive bars. So, when we stumbled upon this little gem, just steps from our hotel, we were very pleased. The first night we came was on a random Thursday and the bar wasn't very busy. The bartender was super friendly and gave us some of the strongest drinks imaginable! Score! And you are correct, we are not from Baltimore, so we took part in the famous Natty Bo special (which was a huge beer for $5). Another Score! Then, we partook in the to-die-for Old Bay Wings. When you think of Baltimore, crab cakes of course comes to mind! Peter's makes an excellent, huge crab cake with minimal to no fillers and all large chunks of juicy crab with just enough seasonings. Also had the crab,shrimp,lobster bisque which was thick, creamy and so good! The fried are perfection- double fried for crispy ness. We are visiting Baltimore Inner Harbor today and wanted a meal off the beaten path a little! We popped in Peters Pour House and had a great meal! We were greeted right away!! The food was pretty quick!! And everything tasted great's I had the Bourbin For Apples and that was an amazingly balanced drink!! We got burgers and chili and yum!!! The onoin rings were great too! Fries were awesome! My teen daughter asked for pineapple juice and the waitress/bartender happily poured it into a goblet style wine glass with ice for her and she was happy as could be! The inside of the restaurant is really cool and has some awesome old school features! Eat here!! read more

Stopped in for dinner after a baseball game. This place is down a little alley but well worth finding. For an appetizer we had 1/2lb steamed shrimp, wish we had gotten the 1lb! They were AWESOME! I had the crab cake sandwich and my husband had the nightly special, roast beef sandwich. In need of a quick bite and outdoor seating, I figured Peter's was the place. Much to my chagrin I was wrong. This was far more than a bar that served food rather than a restaurant that you could get a drink. Let me make clear this was my fault because I should have known from all the locals in the place that is was a bar. The bartender went above and beyond but the food was sorely lacking quality. It pretty much was a greasy mess and the fries were very much the same. The outside seating was behind the building and in what appeared to be an ally...felt like I had to eat with my hand on my wallet. The outdoor area was more the smoking area for Peter's and surrounding restaurants it appeared. I'm probably pretty sure it's a great bar and again, the bartender was tremendous and she saves a lower rating. If I were looking for a bar it probably gets a five star but for food it's a one. read more

Im here for a convention and this place is 1 block over from the Airbnb. The bar tender was great! I started w boiled shrimp appetizer and was hot and deliciously seasoned. I was torn between the rockfish dinner and the jambalaya special. Had to go with my roots and ordered the jambalaya. Man, what a surprise! The shrimp, crab and lobster bisque was nothing short of amazing and it was served steaming hot. For my lunch main, I had the crab cake sandwich. The adulation in other reviews is legit. There was no shortage of crab, the surface had a nice crisp, the bun was fresh and it was abundant in flavor. The fries were obviously cooked to order as they were crispy and hot. The service was prompt and genuinely friendly. There is a decent selection of spirits and great selection of local beer. The place is clean, cozy and unpretentious. Guys I'm real tough on places and rarely give 5 stars. Wish I could have given this place 4.5. Food was very good during our visit. I wish I had a a couple pictures to share. Fire of came in and the young lady took care of us. Kept out glasses full and was very friendly. Meal was very good. Friend #1 had a chefs salad. The thing was huge. I forget what friend #2 had. But she was happy. Wifey had roast beef and gravy covered fries. Really good. I had shrimp alfredo. It also was very good. Prices seemed fair considering amount of food served.
