Went there this past Saturday for dinner with my Mom. The food was OK. We dined in and I had the lasagne and she had the Philly Cheese Steak. The calamari was good, but kind of chewy. This is where it was not pleasant: their drivers and their parking lot are terrible! They have a small parking lot around the back and side. Due to the massive amounts of snow, of course some spots are much smaller than usual. While waiting for one of the delivery guys (who was double parked and blocking the lane) to load his car, another driver pulled up behind me and laid on the horn and started shouting at me. When the lane was cleared and I was finally able to get through, he continued his rant as we were walking into the restaurant. THEN......as we were leaving, I was blocked in by one of another one of their delivery people, and ANOTHER delivery guy came up to my car window and told me to inch my way out and get going (I would have taken someone's bumper if I tried). They kept shouting at me when I clearly had no where to go and it was one of their own that was tying everything up. This experience just put a total damper on it all. I always find Pete's to just be good. Never excellent, just plain good. Delivery is generally fast and food is always hot. I have eaten many things off their expansive menu, which I appreciate them for having, but Pete's food is missing a necessary zing that makes me think "damn that was good." I'd suggest their thin crust pizza, ricotta and spinach calzone, mozzarella sticks and fries. read more

This is by far my favorite pizza in Chicago- if not the world. The crust is not too thin, but thin and the sauce is sweet and tasty. They used to have the awesome breaded cauliflower but not so much anymore. Sausage is yummy and the prices are totally reasonable. Unfortunately I no longer live in their delivery zone so I have to go to great lengths to still get it in the past since I don't have a car. Such as making new friends in their delivery area and inviting myself over and taking the el to the Dominick's within their delivery area and waiting outside like I was casing the joint for an hour. Recently I found that they deliver to Guthrie's Pub, thus making my life and obsession with Pete's Pizza much easier. read more

I've only had Pete's delivered (almost every Saturday at work) but its been consistently delicious. MUCH better than the Dominos pizza we used to get, ha ha. Its decent Chicago thin crust and the service is always great, both on the phone and with the person delivering. And their prices are extremely reasonable! I highly recommend them! read more

Oh Pete's!!!! What has happened to you? I just paid $30 for my wife and I to have a salad and some wings. The wings were like soggy bread. The salad was SO far from what we had last time, I had to go back and look to make sure we ordered from the same place. How can you charge over $11 for a salad? We're talking lettuce and some dressing....really! We usually order pizza from here. We always enjoy it (except for the time I found a bone in my chicken pizza). I'd have to say you're out of chances Pete's! There are too many other options out there to have such poor quality food. read more

Petes is a solid pizza joint , I can't endlessly rave about the pizza , but it is really good . Keep in mind I order only sausage pizza for myself , and peperoni for my kid. I'm not exactly the most adventurous pizza eater. I only eat the thin crust there , and I don't normally like thin crust. They also have decent Italian food there. I don't recall specifically remember what they have on the menu, I ate there only once for a rehearsal dinner before a wedding. There was mosticolli and roast chicken , and it was pretty good. I was in the neighborhood and decided to do an online pick up order. I will start by saying I loved Pete's. They had great pizza, pasta and sides. I have been a Pete's customer from the old days, when you were on the other side of Western. You were a good family business, you had a good product at a decent price point. I tried you a few times after the "C" family sold the Western location, hoping against hope that nothing changed. Sadly, I forgot why I stopped getting Pete's. I ordered the following for dinner with a friend: Small Bacon Pizza (thin crust was thick, not thin at all.) Your crust used to be amazing. Order of Wings, mild sauce, extra ranch Spaghetti, Asked for extra cheese (got no cheese) Asked for and was charged for extra bread( It was the oldest stale bread ever, tasted like it had been nuked in a microwave( I threw it out for the birds). Cesar Salad My order was poorly packed, and leaked, fortunately I had a cover on the car seat or I would have had wing sauce on the seat. For 40 bucks, could you have wrapped it better and secured everything? I wish you well, but I will not be back! read more

I work relatively close to this restaurant, so we get menus mailed to us all of the time and I thought I'd try it. I ordered a stuffed pizza for pick up and the lady who answered the phone repeated my name and order back to me as well as telling me it takes 45 min for stuffed pizza. I was well aware of that and perfectly okay with waiting. 45-50 minutes later, I came to pick up my pizza, but there was no record of my order at all. The phone girl told me the girl who took my order already left and she was sorry. The owner offered to give me a free drink while I wait another 45 minutes for a new pizza. I used to work at a pizza restaurant and if we made a mistake, we would either offer a free pizza or a coupon for a free one next time. I was so hungry and upset at this point that I just left. I might try again, but I don't know what to do to ensure that my order is recorded. read more

We ordered a pie from here to be delivered to us at Revolution Tap Room (which is awesome, by the way). The woman tasked with taking my order over the telephone was clearly not into taking pizza orders. She probably has some other hobbies that she is more enthusiastic about, which is fine. I don't believe my order was particularly challenging-- "a large Hawaiian to Revolution, please make sure the driver brings crushed red pepper," but I could tell already that I was annoying this poor woman who would rather not be taking my pizza order. The pizza arrived with a nice driver who had not been instructed to bring crushed red pepper by my phone buddy, showing me where that information would be found in the notes on his instructions. Bummer, but probably not his fault so he gets tipped just fine. The pizza itself was spectacularly average, and could possibly have been a take and bake from the Jewel down the road. But like a good grocery store take-n-bake. It helped to soak up some amazingly delicious beer (seriously, Revolution is top notch). The pizza could possibly be worth 2.5 stars, as I have already alluded to its stunning middle of the pack-ness, but gets pulled down to 2 stars by the rest of the experience. In the final analysis, quite frankly there are far better ways to spend $27 on pizza in the neighborhood. read more

Was really hoping to like this place based on friends suggestions and reviews, and I'm sure it would have tasted better had the food been warm since the driver got lost and then took 30 minutes to find my place (i live 1.5 miles from the restaurant). When I called the restaurant to ask where the driver was they assured me he was on his way and to call back if the food wasn't satisfactory - well I did just that and asked for a refund. I was then told that their policy on refunds was that they would have to come and pick up ALL OF THE FOOD first in order to give me a refund. I had 6 hungry people at my house and a microwave, so no that wasn't an option. I was then told that the manager would call me the next day - did he? Nope. And that's what I have to say to Pete's Pizza - Nope. read more

First the positive. The girl that took my phone order was very polite and efficient! She was great. We decided when we arrived at the restaurant we wanted to eat in so we can get get a drink and some other food. We told the server that we had ordered s pizza over the phone and we would like to eat it inside. He called over the manager who said it would be an extra charge and he was not very friendly or welcoming. We would have paid the extra charge but he was so rude to us I just wanted to leave. Pete's used to be my go-to pizza place. I was a big fan of the sausage and mushroom-- the sausage was spicy and the sauce garlicky. Recently, though, Pete's just hasn't been doing it for me. The last couple of times I've ordered, I've found the pizza to be kind of bland and I just haven't been that impressed. There's too many pizza places in the city, to stick with Pete's anymore. read more

I had high hopes for Pete's as I had been told that it is "the best pizza in Chicago". Blech. Considering how many toppings were on the pie (we ordered the meat/veggie combo) it seriously lacked flavor, plus I really did not like the crust. Although it was thin crust it was way too dense and had no flavor. Wait I take that back - it tasted like dough, not bread and definitely not crust. It reminded me of Totino's frozen pizza that I used to eat as a kid. I am hoping this is not what everyone talks about when they talk about "Chicago Pizza" 'cause I am so NOT impressed. read more

I believe Pete's was bought by Suparossa and the quality has seriously fallen. As a strictly delivery customer in my experience their service has always been iffy but I enjoyed their food enough to over look it. Lately the quality of the food has been far more miss than hit. I have been a loyal customer of Pete's Pizza for several years and I've enjoyed much although not all of the food that they've delivered to me . Tonight I wanted a snack and a beer so I called Pete's . At 11:03 I ordered (for delivery ) onion rings and a six pack of Budweiser . I was told the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour . I was fine with that . I called them again at 12:07 to check and was curtly told that my order was on the way . And so it was . By 12:45 I gave up on the order having already called Pete's and ascertaining that they had closed for the night . As I was preparing to take my dog out the order arrived . I foolishly accepted and paid AND tipped for it . Cold , mushy disgusting onion rings and warm beer . Pete's Pizza seriously dropped the ball . They effed up and they really , really p-ssed me off . I don't know what cirumstances caused this , nor do I , the paying customer care . I do know for certain that it could very very easily have been managed in a manner that roughly approximated professionalism . There are a great many other places that have quality late night delivery and I as of now recommend any and all of them over Pete's Pizza . read more

The quality and service here have been consistently amazing. From Grubhub orders, phone orders, to the drivers themselves - everyone has shown the utmost kindness and professionalism. I once had an issue on Grubhub's end, and the management of Pete's went above and beyond to make sure I had a positive experience. I disagree with the post below about quality of delivery - this has never been my experience. I once had a driver bring me a free two-liter of soda just to say thank you for being a regular customer - how nice! Excellent food and excellent staff. Debbie, the head manager, is specifically committed to customer satisfaction and it shows. Pete's Pizza is my favorite Chicago pizza, and that's saying something. Highly recommended! read more

Not impressed with their thin crust, more like a frozen pizza from the grocery than delivery.

I've only ever had their pizza for delivery/pick-up, but I really can't ask for more for a neighborhood pizza spot. They are probably the most affordable place in the area, and they are always extremely fast and spot-on with every order. Also, unrelated but I really like that they have a lot of older people working there (i.e. 60+). Adds to the welcoming neighborhood atmosphere. read more

Warning! This has been my standard pizza place for the last year, but after last weekend I will never order from there again. Yes, I think the pizza is great, but it doesn't make up for the service. I ordered a pizza last week for delivery and charged the total with tip to my debit card. I checked my account 3 days later and noticed my pizza was over $100! This was not the amount I signed for. According to my bank I was charged for my order in addition to 3 other orders. I have made several attempts to get Pete's Pizza to rectify the situation. The manager Tina just doesn't want to be bothered by me and doesn't return my phone calls. Luckily I kept the receipt, so the bank is disputing the charges. Pete's was great when my husband and I first moved to the North Center in 2008. However, since October of 2009, we have had nothing but problems with them especially when ordering on-line. Every time we have ordered on-line and ask for delivery, the order either goes missing or in our most recent case tonight - delivered to the wrong person with a completely different name and not even close to the address we have on file. I used to love their pizza, but I hate dealing with them on the phone and refuse to order from them again. Customer service is abysmal to say the least. Sorry Pete's but something needs to change for us to have a change of heart! read more

Family-oriented atmosphere, but you can still get away with a date night here. It's loud and accommodating to large parties. Prices are better than most pizza joints. Yum! I was having a craving for some tasty marinara sauce and pasta and Pete's definitely satisfied that. I ordered the cheese lasagna and it was soooo good! Do not listen to people who are transplants from lame cities like Detroit, or anywhere Ohio, or a freakin cheese head, this is the best place for thin slice pizza. I used to go to LT HS down the street i know, this place has the best thin slice pizza, not crispy crunchy thin, not sloppy NY thin, just freakin thin. First time for petes and it wasnt that impressive. I had the taco pizza for some god unknown reason...i guess it sounded good or maybe it was the fact that I havent eaten in 9 hours. Non the less it was ok. the poppers were decent, just ask for ranch or sour cream with them, they give you some weird ass marinara sauce. The delivery time was good and the prices werent too bad.
