Very solid place known apparently more for their calzones than pizza. It even says "King of Calzones" on the side of the building! Maybe it should be called Pete's Calzones and we also sell pizza. But I'll tell you they do calzones right. And judging from the number of people I saw ordering pizza they must be pretty good at that too. FOOD: I was craving pizza but it is so hard to find a good calzone. Haven't had a good one since I was a kid. Now I have. Usually the problem is the crust gets soggy. There's too much liquid inside and/or it becomes too greasy. But this calzone had a nice crust all the way through from end to end and in the middle! Not too thick and a nice amount of both cheese and meat in the center. Every bite had meat and cheese in it. The sauce was good but not great and wish the meatballs were a little bit more flavorful but to have such a good calzone was a treat. SERVICE: Excellent. They had made a mistake on my order but were quick to rectify it. Super nice about it too. The wait is a bit long but that's what it takes to make it right so call ahead of time. Would have been good to include a knife and fork with it because it's too big to pick up. COST: About $13 for a calzone and worth it.

Stopped in while passing through Spokane on our way to Missoula, MT. Saw it, checked reviews on Yelp, and decided to give it a try! We were so glad we did! They have their own private parking lot. We had our dogs with us and wanted to park in a place where we could keep an eye on them while dining inside...this was the perfect place! The staff was very friendly and helpful, since this was our first time here. The dining area was clean and decor was nice. There are no booths, just tables and chairs. Not the most comfortable, but decent enough to grab a bite and not hang out too long. You order at the counter, get a number, and they bring it to you. We were forewarned the pizzas/calzones take about 20 minutes...30 when it gets busy and the oven is backed up. We ordered the Verona and Hawaiian 'lite' calzones. They were absolutely delicious! Just the right amount of crust and toppings. Too many times I've had a calzone that had WAY more crust/dough than toppings. These were perfect! If we're ever in the area, we'll definitely stop in here again! Highly recommend!

This is the Pete's our family likes the best. It is more relaxed than the one by Gonzaga. They are also very conscious of health guidelines for those who that may matter to. We always do their build your own option for the calzones. My daughter's boyfriend prefers bbq sauce over marinara on foods like this, and I think he just found his new fave place lol. I'm sure that it's been mentioned before, but it is always best to call them and order everything about 30 mins before you expect to get there. You walk in, sit down, and lunch is at your table in moments. I've always wondered why this place isn't called Pete's Calzones? That's what they are known for right?

So I am giving it four stars because I tried to call in my order so I didn't have to wait and the phone kept disconnecting as soon as it was answered. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. So I gave it a try today because of the Tuesday special which is any calzone for $9.95 plus $3 if you want the king size. We ordered the original and the monthly special which was a ranchero, great calzones. We did get the full size for both, which is a great portion. This place has loyal customers that I'm guessing comes out every Tuesday. I watched over and over customers come through the door and the staff knew exactly what they wanted before they even got to the counter. I know others have commented on this as well that it's called Pete's Pizza, however, they are the calzone King and offer very few pizzas, don't hold it against them lol. Staff...the guy who was putting the orders together was so smiley. I have mixed feelings about the cashier that took my order because I am not totally convinced that they were not just hanging up on calls, because honestly her response didn't seem genuine.

I love Pete's pizza. It's been around forever for a reason. He's the calzone king. Order at the counter they make your calzone and you sit and enjoy a classic. Portions and prices are great. I split a salad and a zone last night and we still had leftovers.

Love this place. The staff are always friendly, both on the phone and in person. Since the calzones take a bit to cook we always call our order in. I've been coming to this location for as long as I can remember and have never ordered anything but calzones. I hear the pizza is also good but can't speak to that. The Verona with extra cheese and light sauce is my 'go to' and it is always dead on perfect. If you've never given them a try it is worth putting on your bookmark list.

The biggest issue right away was how long the food took. It felt like we were waiting forever, and by the time it finally came out, it definitely didn't feel worth it. We started with the pretzel, which honestly was nothing like a pretzel. It tasted more like glorified fried dough and didn't have that classic pretzel texture or flavor at all. For drinks, mine was way too strong and just didn't taste good. It wasn't balanced at all and ended up being hard to even enjoy. For my main, I ordered the Cascadia burger medium, but it came out clearly well done and overcooked. On top of that, the egg on it was severely undercooked.. some of the whites were still clear and slimy, which completely ruined it for me. I had also heard good things about the mac and cheese, so I gave it a try, but that was another disappointment. It was bland and runny, and even after adding salt and pepper, it still had no real flavor. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich, which wasn't terrible, but it was definitely on the dry side. They were also out of fries, so he had to get fruit instead, which was kind of disappointing. Overall, the food took way too long, the quality didn't match the price, and the experience just didn't live up to the hype at all. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

Friendly service wins my heart every time. - the butternut squash soup was AMAZING!! So creamy, buttery, flavorful, HOT. Perfection! - a good old fashioned! - save room for the dessert beignets!! Warm, melt in your mouth, light and airy. - was excited to see the portobello mushroom burger on the menu- flavorful and a tad messy. - the calamari has an Asian flair. Points for being different and delicious, but the calamari was small and you don't get very much. I liked the slaw. Lots of slaw, little calamari. Service: our waiter was helpful and kind - when he was there. It started off great, but as the evening went on he wasn't there when we needed. We waited a fair amount of time for our entrees, drinks we had ordered, and lastly for boxes and our checks. It was a little frustrating, but he was clearly busy and it may not have been his fault. Food: we started with the pork burnt ends. They were cooked wonderfully and tasted great. I would say they were maybe just a tad too sweet, but I still really enjoyed them. My husband got the crossbred corn Mac and cheese. He liked it and thought it had good flavor. I tried it and didn't care for it. I got the Tuscan Penne pasta with Chicken. I didn't love it. It had large whole cooked cherry or grape tomatoes in it and they weren't great and There wasn't a ton of flavor in general. The chicken in it was probably the best part and I added it for $7.50. Our friends got the special which was some shrimp risotto. The risotto was overcooked and was mush and the amount of crispy onions was way more than the amount of risotto in the dish. The shrimp was cooked well though and they enjoyed the flavor. For drinks I started with the Cadillac Margarita. It was far too sweet for me. The next drink I asked them to make me a spicy margarita with just jalapeños and pineapple juice instead of any mix they had. That turned out better than my first margarita. we had a good time with our friends and enjoyed our night out. However, we all kind of said we didn't care to make it back there. None of us were too impressed and for what we paid, it just wasn't worth it.
