No other explanation, no offer to correct this, absolutely no responsibility taken by PetSmart to make this right. In addition, I could find no provision on the PetSmart website for leaving a review. Great place to leave your puppy in their "hotel". Cutie Pie had a wonderful three days while we were away

This location has frequently cancelled my reservation for boarding and day camp due to staffing issues. Reservations mean nothing to them because they, admittedly, don't have enough staff to provide services most days. They've only notified me of cancellations when I arrive; they don't call prior. You can image what an incredible inconvenience this causes when going out of town. On two occasions, when they haven't cancelled my reservation, I've arrive at pickup only to find no dogs in the day camp area. When questioned they say that due to staffing issues the dogs are in kennels. And yet, they still charge me for day camp. I bring my dog to socialize, and if the constant staffing issues cause a change I expect to be notified, or at the very least not charged. One time boarding I called to check on my dog. It turns out the Gold Package I reserved (that included a suite and day camp) wasn't honored. When I complained, one staff member yelled to me, "I have to wake up at 4:00a to be here and I won't stop work until 9:00p so I don't have time to call everyone!" That's obviously extremely unprofessional, but it also tells me they're overworking what little people they have there. Do you want angry, over-worked people looking after your dog or cat? I have serious concerns about the capability and morality of this establishment, which leads me to have safety concerns for the well-being on my dog. Please look elsewhere. read more

Let me start by saying if I could give this place zero stars I would. To begin with I booked a grooming appointment for my little senior dog and they were nice when I made the appointment, but that's where we take a hard left so I check in a the groomer Sandra checked in my dog as soon as I told her my dog had a heart condition she was hesitant to accept her she said if anything goes wrong we will call you well let me tell you after an hour in to the appointment they called me to tell me that they took my dog to the vet for a skin reaction to the shampoo, when in fact they had nicked my dog in several places on her skin including her legs. Upon picking her up they advised me she isn't a good candidate for grooming but they still changed me the full price for a grooming if you love your pet don't go here they don't care about animals and don't seem to have a lot of experience. read more

I took my dog Sebastian in to be groomed, Danielle asked me if he had any injuries. I told her no, while she looked him over . She told me I could pick him up in 3 hrs. I didn't hear from them so I called and they informed me he wasn't ready. I finally got the call to pick him up. I noticed their vibe was a little off when they gave me the bill. I PD and went to retrieve my dog. I didn't see him right away which was odd, Danielle proceeded to ask me if I knew my dog had a tumor. I was shocked b/c it looked like it was a fresh wound. Then another agreed that it was a tumor or a possible gland issue. I was devastated because they told me I should take him to a vet and I am disabled with limited income. I took my dog to get his vaccines and 2 Vets looked at him and told me it was a fresh cut. Danielle cut my dog and lied to me. The manager did refund my money but I will never take my dog there again. I can't believe I tipped her ,not knowing she lied to me. read more

I used to bring my dog to this store but not any more. I hope this review may help other people to choose the right place for bringing their dogs for their grooming services. I had an appointment at 9 am, I talked with the groomer saying that I will be getting there 10 minutes late and she mentioned that as long as I get there before 9:20 it was ok. So I got there on time and when I arrived I said my name and she had to take some calls so I had to wait 5-7 minutes, which was ok for me; then she mentioned that the vaccines were expired which was not mentioned by phone by the time I set the appointment, but anyways I got a picture of the vaccination card and showed it to her at the front desk in order to update the information in the system. Suddenly, she started to treat me in an irrespective manner saying that she is too busy, it was late and she had a lot of appointments, she asked me to go outside and did not even accept to update the information of my dog's vaccines in the system. I was treated in a way I had never been treated since I came to the states 4 years ago!!!! It was totally humiliating! I felt so bad that I didn't want to argue, I just cried and cried and took my dog out with me. I spoke with the store manager who was a kind person and totally emphatic. However, I was afraid and did not trust the place at all. I felt so frustrated of the rude, denigratory treatment I received from the groomer, and I still don't understand what bothers her about me. I would assume it was my accent because from the beginning she was very rude with me and I really think that she needs a master class of respect for human beings, independently of the nationality of the customer. I will NEVER recommend Pet Smart from escondido and invite the managers and directive to review the kind of employees they are having. Discrimination is not an option. I would be happy to provide more information as needed. I would like to help and avoid that other people face such a hard time as I had there. read more

I love how affordable doggy day camp is here! $20 for a full day and $14 for a half day! The staff is super nice and you can see your dog running around through the glass windows! I would definitely come back and do daycare and boarding! There is plenty of parking there and Banfield Pet Hospital is in the store as well for your vet needs. They didn't even smell good when we picked them up. When my husband called to speak to Danielle the manager, she had nothing to say. It's frustrating when customer service doesn't care. But if it was there money and there dogs, then it would be a problem. They didn't even get the dirt off of my dog from the dog park. They said it would take 3-4 hours and were done in 2. I came to this petsmart and got all my supplies for my new kitten plus a treat for my dog. Once the cashier was done ringing me up, I noticed there was a treat on the counter and I asked her if that was the treat I had just paid for, she said no, that mine was in my bag. I trusted her and left. Turns out, she never put it in my bag and the one on the counter was the one I had just paid for but she neglected to give to me. It's one thing if we both had missed it but I literally pointed it out and she said no that she put it in my bag. Reptile department I've come into this location many times to look at the reptiles and it keeps on getting worse. It's against PetSmart police to house the crested gecko (who's in the plant) with other animals. It started off with just being housed with the long tailed lizards and they claimed that they couldn't house the long tailed lizards with the frogs os they had to put them in with the crested gecko even though they have different care requirements. They also are blaming this on a tank in their display that broke early last year that they aren't trying to replace. Whenever I ask them to put more plants in because there aren't enough plants (also against policy) they say they will but never do. Now as of 2/11/2019 they have long tail lizards (on the branch), a crested gecko(in the plant), and frogs( in the back corner) in the same tank. This gecko is small enough to be fully eaten or partially eaten by the frog and the care requirements are all wrong where these animals. If you are looking for a reptile don't trust what the employees say, do your research, look online, read animal care books but these employees don't care about the animals and don't know how to take care of them properly. Everyone in the shop was really nice and gentle with my guy and the other dogs I saw being worked on. It was obvious that Jessica went above & beyond to make sure he was not just groomed well, but also taken well care of. She cared about his happiness and comfort. That goes a long way with me! PetSmart has better prices for pet food than Petco. Customer service for the retail part of the store was good, employees friendly and offered help. What I needed was out of stock, unfortunately. PetSmart is a good place to get food and basic supplies. But I've heard some awful stories about their veterinary care, so I would not trust leaving my pet here. I think they hire untrained and inexperienced people for kennel, grooming, and medical care. One time I went it smelled like poo inside so that's suspicious. read more

So today after a walk with my dog I decided to take a drive and stop in and get my dog a treat. I pulled into PetSmart in Escondido. It was 97 degrees outside. My dog was panting while we waited in line. I asked the clerk if they have a bowl with water and she looked me up and down and said " we don't do that anymore, you can go in the back and buy some". I have an 8 year old beagle/pit mix who is still so active, she's never been to a groomer before but her nails have gotten too long and I'm too scared to clip them myself. I was nervous about the appointment because I thought she might move too much on the table. So I finally tried one of the services they offer at petsmart. I've been putting off bringing 2 of my dogs to the groomers but finally made an appointment. This is why I can't afford to get my hair cut, it's because I have to pay for 2 dogs to get their hair cut every 6 months since that's when I can't handle their long gross hair anymore. They hate baths and they can't stay still when I have a brush in my hand so I usually try to be quick when I give them baths myself so mats are always all over their body when their hair gets longer. anyways enough of my rambling... when I called Saturday night, the girl was able to book me an appointment for Sunday morning. It was perfect since the other places i've taken my dogs to weren't open on Sunday. I usually try to support the local small businesses in the area but they weren't open when I wanted to go!!! I ended up being 15 min late to my appointment but they were ok with it when I called them which was nice. I was kinda shocked with the prices they quoted me. $79 for Chanel (10 lb yorkiepoo) and $59 (20 lb poodle) for Mac. They explained why they needed to use this one shampoo on Chanel since the mats in her hair were so close to the skin and they needed to use a short blade on her. It would be better for her skin. They explained everything well so I was willing to pay the price. I think my dogs look funny with no hair but they needed it shaved off for the summer. The girls there did a great job. They told me what they did well on and what they didn't like. Also the girl told me they were great to work with so it made the grooming process good. I really like the positive comments when I hear it from other people. I'll definitely use their grooming services again in the future. read more

I seriously love this place. My first time here. I came w my aunt to help her set up boarding for her dog for an upcoming trip. They have a pet hotel and it's super quaint. You check in your pup just like a human hotel. They have a "doggy day camp" to give your pet friend exercise and social time during their stay. Their rates are fair and it includes food and play time. The staff is really friendly too, which is important too because pet parents need comfort knowing their loved one is staying overnight without them. Then, walking around I noticed they have a grooming center AND an in house pet hospital too! Really? That's great! Ok so now I'm thinking... there's gotta be something wrong with this place, so I go on a hunt. But I can't find anything wrong! The place is clean, everything is well stocked, and they have complimentary dog treats located throughout the store and staff ready and waiting to greet your furry friend. I don't have a pet... and I don't even like dogs that much (don't judge me)... But I know a good business when I see it. This place is great. All around great. read more

I love Lanai for my Yorkies! We are military so we move frequently and haven't found a good groomer in almost 4 years. She is able to cut them without nicking thier under bellies or leave clipper marks. Doggie Day Camp I wanted to give a big thank you and glowing recommendation to the staff at the Doggie Day Camp/day care at my local Petsmart! I was very apprehensive to bring my rescue dog, Tinkerbell as she has a lot of trust, anxiety, and separation issues. I decided to give the day care a shot and I have taken Tink two days this week and I am just so impressed and thankful for the staff that took care of Tink! The staff have all been so very kind and patient with Tink and have helped her to socialize and play along with the other dogs. I truly appreciate that team members have also taken the time to interact with her one on one to give her the positive affirmation and attention she needs! It is such a relief to know I have a positive, safe, and healthy environment to take my dog to when I have long work days. I know this is definitely going to help Tinkerbell grow more comfortable around people and other dogs alike! Thank you for taking such excellent care of my Tink, we will definitely be back! I usually love this store and the service but today when I came in to bring in my baby for her grooming, the actual salon was very hot and muggy and was hotter then the actual store, I felt iffy leaving my dog there due to the heat but they assured me they would have water in the back. I take my 5 month old puppy to petsmart grooming and have taken here there since she was 8 weeks. I've also heavily relied on their day care services. In the last two weeks I have not taken her to the dog park because I was able to rely on doggy day camp. My last visit with them was on the eighth of July, 2021, where my pup was at doggy day camp and at the end of the day take it to the Grooming department. Four days later my dog was rushed to the emergency vet from developing kennel cough which is contracted from either the doggie daycare or they're grooming department. when I called to complain, The store manager only asked if she was on antibiotics and didn't apologize for the fact that she contracted it while she was there. I didn't feel it was a necessity for them to apologize but more so for them to be on top of cleaning which I thought they already were since the pandemic started. I didn't feel like there was going to be enough communication between the rest of the department so I did call and complain directly to the day care and the Grooming department. I was offered just a follow up phone call in two days for a update on how she was doing. The only way I could get them to be held accountable for taking care of the emergency was calling the corporate number directly. I do not recommend the Grooming or the daycare whatsoever because it does not leave me with the impression that they clean well enough especially during Covid. read more

My dogs are sweet dogs and how they act when we go to the groomers here makes me question the care my dogs are in. Everytime for the pass 3 years that I've taken my dogs here they are super nervous and super scared to walk into the grooming area, once we walk through the door all three immediately poop and piss themselves. This is after they handled their business outside too. They have been so traumitized that even when I took them to another groomer they reacted the same way. Every time we have come in we have seen the manager visible on the floor. The cashiers always make conversation. It is always clean and their animals are in clean conditions as well. My dog has been trained when it's getting anything done to her she is to lay there you're idiot staff calls up and says that she's lethargic the dog is trained to lay there and let whatever needs to be done to be done to her. Then you turn around and say you couldn't keep the dog on the table you need to make up your mind. Lethargic is not moving hyper is trying to jump off the table. Beware of the groomers here. Our small dog is very sweet and loving, but the groomers don't care about that. It is just a job that obviously they hate and hate dogs. They did not do what we paid for which cost extra. Not only do they not do the nail grinding that we paid for they don't do the ears either. Plus they did not use products that we paid for either that was extra. The last time we took our dog there our dog was shaking and scared. It took us two or more weeks to try and comfort our dog from the horrible ordeal. It makes you wonder how much they hate dogs. Besides them being rude and the manager could care less, they leave you on hold when you call for a long time and when you call back you wind up on hold again. Never again... I will never come here to groom my dog AGAIN! Was told my dog would be ready in 4 hrs and they would call me, great! I had to call them to see how my dog was coming along 1 hr after the time I as expecting a call. Saying it wasn't hard to clean up while she was following us around. Ruining our entire experience. If it was my dog I would have noticed she's a female Boston terrier. We took our dog at Pet Smart Hotel in Escondido for few months because we did not have another choice. Some of the staff were friendly but Mr. Ryan was always rude and unprofessional. They seem to like dogs but they have no training and the approaches they use to correct the dogs are a JOKE (spray water and yell at your dog). Someone in this facility did something bad with my dog; for the past three weeks my dog did not want to go there, when my dog saw Ryan he started to shake and nip my husband's hand, and another incident, an employee brought him from inside using the leash choker on my dog's abdominal area instead putting the leash on his neck. She said : "This works really well with your dog". When my dog starting showing this behavior I asked the employee that I wanted to see where they were placing my dog and she had many excuses saying that I could not look at the space because she was alone, there were three people with her.... I recently took my 2 dogs here to be groomed. They tried to talk me into a special smooth nail treatment that would be $60. additional. I was being nickled and dimed from the time I walked in. I had a hard time understanding what was part of a "grooming" package.The dogs are a 60 lb golden doodle and a 25 lb min doodle. My husband picked them up and by that time they claimed my dogs had needed flea shampooing....of course extra....even though I use Advantage for fleas. They completely shaved both dogs bodies....they look terrible. They left a little hair on the head and tails. To add insult to injury...they charged alot of money I'm soooo dissapointed and do not reccomend this grooming shop. read more
