Pandemic Review: PetSmart has done a great job of getting my pets through these uncertain times. I shop on the application and pick it up curbside, at no additional cost. When you pull up just call the number advertised at the curbside, and someone will bring it right up to you. If there is something that they couldn't fulfill they just refund you the money directly onto the method of payment you used. They are also open inside, with a lot of little reminders to please keep your distance from other patrons. It's the same thing when you wait in line, there are stickers on the floor to guide you of where a safe distance might be. I was a little skeptical about going into stores, but after visiting Petsmart I felt comfortable knowing that I was able to do my shopping at a safe distance. read more

I've been to this PetSmart a few times, but I favor the one in Upland (Campus & 19th) for some reason. I don't use any of PetSmart's service like grooming, daycare, or vet hospital. PetSmart has decent prices, especially if items are on sale. I find myself purchasing from PetSmart.com more than going in person now. (mostly for pee pads and treats) The only dog food I bought from PetSmart is Blue Buffalo. I've tried the other brands (Wellness, Natural Choice etc.) and they don't do well with my dogs. However, now that I've stopped feeding them Blue Buffalo, I started purchasing their food at specialty stores (like Protein for Pets in Rancho Cucamonga). Unfortunately, PetSmart doesn't offer the food I'm looking for. The items I still buy are the Himalayan Dog Chews, True Chew Bully Sticks and jerky treats, Good Boy sausages, Blue Buffalo dental chews, leashes, harnesses, and Top Dog pee pads. NEVER AGAIN!!! Samantha injured Lily's right eye! She also did not complete grooming her. The nails were not clipped, ears were not cleaned, the hind area was not shaved and Lily had poo on her unshaved bum which leaves me to wonder if Lily was even given a bath and what really went on there. Unacceptable duration of time required for standard care of service! Appointment made for Heartworm exam and shot. Had to drop off the dog, for this service which requires minimal sample of blood & an approximate 15 min. test and Heartworm shot. I contacted this Banfield Rancho Cucamonga location for status on my dog after four hours. Came here last Wed looking for dog food. The shelf had flies and bugs all over it so I was like hmm that's weird... I looked and there's this super dusty bag of dog food. I took my mini bernedoodle, Autumn, in for her first grooming at age 8 months. Liz was her groomer and she did a wonderful job. She took het time with her since this was Autumn's first bath. Shaved her at the right length for her coat..shaved and cleaned the inside of her ears..brushed her teeth. And she smells lovely! Highly recommended. read more

Love taking my dog to their groomers. It is fairly expensive but I love how my dog look and smell after leaving. Rebekah is great with him. Although, I haven't had a bad experience with any of the girls that work there. Update 8/9/18 Rebekah doesn't work here anymore, so I decided to try someone else. Bad idea!!! I believe the groomer was Georgina- she said that she was only going to cut half of my dogs hair (not half an inch but half of what he already has). My dog is a Pomeranian, she screwed up his hair! She cut more than half of his hair( look at the picture). As a matter of fact, Rebekah educated me that since he is a Pomeranian, his hair shouldn't be cut too low because it might mess up his coat! I called in to ask if they had any crested geckos there currently. The lady who answered me sounded like she couldn't wait to get me off the phone. she introduced herself quickly which was fine but when i asked if they had any crested geckos she sounded very mono tone and quick asked if i couldn't wait which i did. Then she came back and said they had some so I said okay and asked if they know the ages and what would be the youngest age i could purchase one at. I am aware now after doing research that my first mistake was calling a pet smart in the first place. She once again speaking very quickly and in a mono tone voice, said no she doesn't know the age and that nobody tells them the ages of the reptiles which is very weird and unprofessional, as the age determines how often they eat and the size of the enclosure. After this i 100% go to a reptile store instead of a petsmart. read more

Came in 30 min before closing to see if a clearance item just happened to be in stock. It's always a hit or miss when the website says there are a few in store. It unfortunately wasn't but every employee I came across was friendly and went above and beyond to help. I asked a male employee about clearance items and he was kind enough to take me to every end cap. Which is not what happened at other PetSmarts. So I felt it was incredibly thoughtful especially so close to closing. As I ran out, a female cashier who saw me leave minutes after coming in asked if she could be of any help even though she was busy. She did not have to ask. I took my dog here to do the beginner training. I had the trainer Richard and he was awesome. He asked what concerns we were having and tried his best to help as much as he can. Through out our 6 week course he was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend getting your pet trained here. I was very nervous at first because i'd never done this before, my dog knew very little before starting this course and now he knows a lot more and is knowledgeable. Thank you!! read more

The groomers just waste your time . I had called in for my 2nd time to bring my cat to get groomed and they advise to have the rabies shots done once the cat is 8weeks old and more . I made an appointment to my local vet 3 weeks prior to coming in for my cats grooming appointment as I had made an appointment with these waste of time groomers . They stated they do not take any written documents as I have my pets vaccination records . I was never informed about specific details regarding vaccination records over the phone when I called in petsmart . Turns out today as my appointment that I scheduled 3 weeks before was really turned down and basically wasted 2 hours of my time trying to get to the groomers . How disappointing it is when their lack of communication skills of not informing someone cannot be considerate of offering a last time courtesy . Do not waste your time with them . Alysa and her manager (short caucasian lady) just wasted my time and could not even work something out . How frustrating . This was suppose to be my second time there but Id rather pay more and extra to someone who will kindly take care of my pet . If I could I would not even rate 1 star . Ridiculous! read more

I brought my mini dachshund for a wash & cut. JACKIE was our groomer & she listened to everything I said, asked questions & took a moment to get to know my dog before just taking her. I love going to Petsmart cause its enjoyable for me and my doggies. However,Adam was not enjoyable AT ALL. I purchased something last Saturday and this weekend they had the 15% off coupon. I called ahead and spoke with another team member...he said I can come in with the receipt and the 15% could be credited to me. When I went in...I spoke with Adam. Review on training: We do training with Zach, and love it! We brought our giant Cane Corso puppy in after we adopted him, and knew we needed the right trainer. Zach is firm but consistent. He taught us lots of tricks for training and we have seen a complete positive turnaround in our dog. We started with the beginning class and our pup is currently in the advanced class. Zach holds you and your dog to a very high standard, so if you are looking to make your dog a therapy dog, he's the right trainer. Zach has never once cancelled a class on us, and really caters training to meet the needs of our dog. I think the environment that training creates allows dogs socialization in a safe way. I've already recommended this trainer to three of my friends who now bring their dogs and they are just as happy as I am. read more

So this review is for the grooming salon. Made an appointment 3 days ahead. Opted to do the super early appointment (7am). Dropped off my little Maltese baby around 7:15. Why were we technically "checked in" late? Because there was a line and they were having problems with their scheduling software. So we was greeted by one of the groomers. She was nice but not very talkative. We did the 7 blade because it's summer and my little fur ball was a little matted. The groomer told us she would be done by around 11 and anything past 5 hours after grooming there's a $27 kennel charge-- ummm what? This was a new rule I guess. So fast forward to 11.. Got a call from them while I was a work. What I thought was a "your dog is ready for pick up" was far from it. So my dog is considered a senior therefore she needs some extra TLC. She means no harm .. Just misunderstood. It was nice for them to update me on how her behavior and stress level was. The groomer had to hand her off to the manager though because apparently my dog was "a bit too much to handle".. Fast forward to around 3pm. This time it's from the manager letting me know that indeed she was ready to be picked up. Oh and I also got a text too so that's pretty cool. The overall cut wasn't so bad. Loved her teddy bear face but what they did to her tail was a little confusing. Maybe they were going for the Miley Cyrus look? No razor burns, she smelled good and no knots. Overall, I was satisfied. I was a little disappointed when they didn't do their signature bows/bandanas or report cards though! $45 and 10 hours later... Yeah I'll take her back again. read more

There grooming department is a joke, they don't cater to bigger dogs even though they say they take all sizes. After making a grooming appointment 3 weeks in advance I took my 9 months old 90 lbs German Shepherd and just knew I would get a call back with an excuse. And as I predicted, I got the call an hour later to pick him up since he was out of control and dangerous, this is a pup that can only kill you with hugs and kisses, anything but dangerous. The thing the bugged me the most was that they recommended me to bring him during the week when they have less grooming jobs available versus the weekend when I'm off after waiting 3 weeks for his appointment . Question is , is my dog not dangerous and out of control on weekdays or is it you don't want to put up with a bigger puppy you don't have the qualifications to handle . read more

I went in to get carpet powder and dog bags, I always get my receipts emailed and they give me a coupon or other printed goody, but today the girl at the register just ripped it off the coupon printer and threw it in the trash, I had my hand out because I always get them when I come but this time she just threw it away, she didn't ask if I wanted it or anything. I told her "oh can I have it" she said "oh it's just a virtual training coupon" and kind of waved her hand as if I didn't need it. I thought this was very rude . Grooming Department: This is my first time having my dogs groomed at any PerSmart. I had high hopes considering most of the reviews regarding the grooming dept on Yelp is mostly positive. I scheduled for both my dogs, a short haired chihuahua mix and a pit bull, to be groomed. The staff was welcoming and kind from the get go. I had no problems with the staff's customer service. Upon dropping off my pups, I was told that they were pretty backed up and it may take 3 hours for completion. I expressed that both my pups have anxiety issues, especially my pit who I found i injured and abandoned in a busy street about 2.5 years ago. I was worried that both dogs would freak out about being in a kennel for that long. But considering how nice the staff was, I trusted them. About 2.5 hours after, I get a call that my pups were ready for pick up. When I asked how the dogs were, they said that my chihuahua did fine but my pit was afraid of the dryer so they've been letting her dry in the kennel. Soooo a scared dog, who has anxiety issues, was put in a kennel. I wish they would have just called me when they figured out she was scared of the dryer so that she wasn't left thinking she was in trouble by putting her in the kennel for I don't know how long to dry. When I got there, I was told that some of my pit's front paw nails were longer than others because she didn't like the nail clippers. Which was fine with me, until I got home. I was looking at my pit's nails and noticed that one of them was cut so short that there was actually blood coming out of it. Mind you, I understand that things happen. But they're supposed to be professionals, right? Also, I would have appreciated it if they were just upfront and have said that they cut one of her nails too short and that was why my pit didn't want the rest of her nails cut. I'm still contemplating whether I should go back to give them another chance or just go elsewhere. read more

DO NOT USE THEIR CURB SIDE PICK UP! During this pandemic, do not use their online ordering and curbside pick up! I placed my order on 4/20/2020. Total was $148.67. They charged my card 8 times for the same charge. Then they cancelled my order. I am still trying to get my $1,189.36 back. Called the credit card company and they referred me back to the merchant. I have tried to call PetSmart, every day, several times a day. I was on hold for over 2-hours and then it disconnects. I have sent them emails; no response! We were in the area at another store and needed a dog carrier, so we stopped in. We also picked up a few doggie jackets, since they were on sale. While we were there choosing styles/sizes my husband went to their bathroom. He is currently in a wheelchair from an accident. The bathroom hallway was blocked by cat trees. He had to move 3 of them to access the bathroom. I realize disabilities only affect a small percentage of the population, but considering the ADA act passed prior to this store being built - it was surprising to hear this story's. He was very frustrated and eventually exhausted from moving large items out of the way to get to a bathroom. read more

When the groomer Justin called me to pick up my dog, he didn't mention anything special, but when I check out online, I found that he added a $10 surcharge for matted hair. I knew my dog has slight matting around her armpits, so I didn't think twice. After I went home with my dog, I found that all her matting are still there. Why would they charge a matted hair fee if they are not fixing it? No communication or anything, it's not acceptable to me. Will not use this location again. read more

I probably will not come back here again with my fur babies. One of my fur baby had fleas due to playing with other dogs. Then we found out that it left scabs on her :( We took her to the groomers and that's how we found out that she had scabs- the only disappointment that we had was that we had to pay the full price of $80-$87 when they couldn't cut her fur because of the scabs. I am not sure what they did with her, maybe washed her? But we felt like it was extremely unfair that we had to pay the full price when the service we requested was not performed. read more
