I took my dog in to get groomed. They cut her paw, called me for permission and took her over to Bansfield(the pet hospital in the same store) to get her bandaged up. The vet asked me to come back for a follow-up. I came back 3 days later and they wanted to charge me $130 to re-bandage her paw. I said no and while I was walking out, I asked the cashier if there was a manager on duty. She said no but asked me to wait for another person. I told the person that showed what happened and she said to hold on. Came back a few minutes later and said to come back to Bansfield and they will take care of me. So, went back over and the same girl came out and told me that I would have to pay because the manager needed to approve it. So upset-I'll never go to that store again. Do young people understand customer service? I was there on Saturday 11-11-23 in the morning. I was halfway thru checking in when one female came out of the back, interrupted me talking the to other female checking me in at the desk. Didn't say excuse me or wait until I was done. Almost every time I deal with this grooming salon horrible things happen. 1st of all, they just do not do a very good job. If you're a few minutes late they tell you that they can't see your pet. My dog most recently was to have a haircut and toothbrushing and then I was canceled on because the grimmer was out. They did nothing to get me in sooner. I had to wait another week. Then I took her in and for some reason they do not have my rabies on file. They would not see my pet. I'm done with the mayan location. I will never set foot in that store again for anything. I would recommend you take your pet to an independent groomer. You're much better off taking your pet somewhere where they care, Is where they actually seem like they want to do the work and take your money. read more

I like to give the benefit Of the doubt when I receive poor (to my standards) service. I love a groomer at this salon, but I've had a few too many unpleasant encounters.... Most recently we dropped are nervous small breed (well behaved, not barking nervous just a quiet "please don't leave me here" type) for a bath and nail grid. We had an appointment. We always make appointments. We were told 1 hour, because it's ALWAYS in hour. 4th time for the same service and 3rd with the same dog. My wife goes back at 1 hour and was told "we have been busy with walk ins. You should have been told 2-3 hours..." meanwhile she could see our dog hadn't even had her bath started. So she was just hanging out in a chaotic room filled with barking, sounds of blow dryers and dogs getting groomed for an hour?!?!? 20 minutes later we get notification she's done. So it seems like the rushed through her bath and dry pretty quick. Makes me wonder how much care she got. I called and spoke to a member of management. The time before when I had an issue I spoke to the grooming manager. 2 times in a row I've had to speak with a manager... sadly we won't go back. Having our dog SHUT DOWN the rest of the day is sad. She doesn't play, or wag her tail. She just follows me from room to room to curl in a ball near me. This is not a place for sensitive dogs. read more

They always ask if I need assistance, when I'm wandering aimlessly. They have a huge array of food, toys, you name it they have it. This PetSmart has always been my go to for food, toys, etc. for my cats and I've never had a problem until today. However, I bought a new water fountain for my cats and it had obviously been returned. There were little bits of ripped open plastic packaging and undone twist ties in the bottom, plus it was missing some pieces. There was also a bobby pin(why?), and a dirty, possibly moldy paper towel in the bottom of the box. It looks like the bottom of the box got soaked at some point. Frankly, it looks like someone returned for whatever reason, and they just put it back on the shelf without even checking it. Irritating that I need to spend a day off driving back to take care of this, doubly so because it's a Sunday and they are only open til 6. Poor quality control, and I'm not sure I'll be shopping there again. read more

Do not buy from here I had perfect healthy fish I had a 4 year old pleco that was over a foot long I rescued the lady gave me a snail out of a quarantine tank I realized the next day when I went back to get more they killed my whole tank they always have dead fish &they are rude and didn't care that they killed my whole tank and only refunded me for one fish when it was the girls fault. I am thoroughly impressed with the dog trainer, Kimbi. My Golden Doodle puppy has gotten into a horrible habit of barking non stop starting at 5am. It's not a bathroom break, he just wants to play. After swinging by Petsmart to buy my furkids their food, I decided to address my training issues with the trainer in site. The store was very busy, but Kimbi took the time to walk me through all the different training tools you can use and which one she thought would work best for my puppy. She gave me her card and told me to call her anytime if I had any questions. She didn't sell me on the most expensive product, and she certainly wasn't selling me her services. These people are simply not trained properly to handle ACTUAL grooming. They are NOT real groomers. They, unfortunately, are put into a high volume situation, that is soo over busied, that they simply CANNOT give your dog any proper attention, because they are trapped by corporate, revenue , pushing for the company.. Your dog will not be in good hands here. Only frustrated, vocal staff, makes you uncomfortable to put your furry kids here. I have brought my lil boy here, twice b4, to get his nails clipped. Was all good. TODAY was different. I just bought some clippers, and I'll do it myself from now on. Save yourself the travel. Save yourself the money and time. Save yourself the trouble.... I came to this location to view a leaped gecko and realized that all of the snakes were out of water. The ball pythons were also all on eco earth and not on aspen, which I find odd. I also noticed that the fish decorations were very gross and definitely need a cleaning. However the associate that helped us with the geckos was very nice. read more

Anyways, I was walking over there to her to ask her "why is it parakeets were all out. " She looked at me and she said "why do you think? This is a perfectly ok Petsmart. These stores all pretty much the same, although I find that this one has some of the most friendly cashiers around. They know their stuff too. I like the fact that everyone working here seems to be an animal lover--its good mojo for a store like this. So why only 3 stars? Well, they seem to have a habit of not always keeping their shelves fully stocked. Its not uncommon to go in looking for something and they will have 1 variety of the product out and spaces for several more where there is nothing available. Kind of frustrating. We bought a bearded dragon here and the reptile is good but the service was awful and has continued to be awful. There is very obviously just teenagers that work here and don't care about their job or the animals. We saw A LOT of dead fish in the tanks while we were there and no one knew anything about the bearded dragon or what they need. The young girls who helped us with the bearded dragon and tank stopped answering our questions to stand off to the side and take pictures of each other. So I'm not completely unreasonable I remember being a teenager but I also used to work in a pet store and a feed store and it just struck me as so unprofessional. Don't shop at this petsmart unless you're in the right economic area. I purchased 2 dog crates today one at the petsmart on Virginia and one at this location because the petsmart on Virginia didn't have two of these crates. When I checked out I noticed quite the difference on the price but didn't realize it until I was in the parking lot. When I was done loading I went back to speak to the manager thinking a mistake was made. There was a 43$ difference between the crates on my receipts. The manager told me that petsmart bases their prices on the economy in the area. I was given a refund of the 43$but if you enjoy paying higher prices instead of driving the 8 miles for the same merchandise go ahead.n read more

I am writing a review today about the grooming center. While it was nice that i was able to get my dog in on very short notice so that I could run other errands in anticipation of family visiting for a week, I did still expect my dog to get cleaned and his toes get fully shortened for almost $50 today. When I picked my dog up, his nose was literally still caked with brown dirt AND some GRASS from digging around in the backyard, and the gal said "no, that is dry skin" which was laughable. I cleaned it when I got home, noticed his head/face had not been cleaned (it still smelled yeasty) so we cleaned that as well. His nails were ground, but not all of them even by any means, several are still awkwardly longer than the others. Nothing we can do about that other than our next trip for nails will be sooner than should be necessary. I went to PetSmart thinking "convenience!" and the service ended up being below mediocre by workers that don't seem to really care. I will be taking my dog to locally owned establishments from here on out, when I choose professional grooming. Incredibly disappointing. read more

Came here a couple of months back with a friend to look for a crate for his dog. The store is large, neatly maintained, and had a few different brands of crates to choose from in all their various sizes. The size we needed in the brand that was on sale was all sold out. I asked a sales girl if there were any more possibly in back. She politely said no. I then asked her if they could match the online price they had for the 2nd cheapest crate in the size we needed because online it was significantly cheaper. She again politely said no. So I went online on my phone, purchased the crate that we wanted for the significantly cheaper price and opted for in-store pick up at that location.... Grabbed it off the shelf and walked up to the counter, showed a different sales person my online purchase receipt, and left. Nice store, not the smartest sales girl. read more

Heads up to all clients who take their animals to Banfield hospital through petsmart. I was visiting family in Reno and Sparks and my 10 month old puppy, Mia, got into some Tomcat Mouse poison. I have insurance through Banfield Hospital. I freaked out so I started calling Banfield hospitals. There are four. Three in Reno and one in sparks. Not one of them would help me. Not even offer advise! When I returned to Fresno I went in to petsmart at Shaw and Marks (which is where Mia is seen on a regular basis) and spoke to Andrea and explained what happened; and guess what, she didn't care either. Never asked for my name, how my dog was......nothing. No apologies just excuses why they had the right not to see my dog. As for insurance....that didn't change the situation one way or the other. I recently took my puppy there for the free grooming you get get when you purchase their puppy package. It was a horrible experience. First I called them when they opened to set up two appointments, one for my pup and one for my full grown dog. They said they were completely booked up, but they could "squeeze" in my puppy, so I took it. First off, any time I take my dogs to a new place, its standard to ask for their vaccination records, and of course this place did not. The lady that checked him in advised me it would be no longer than 2 hours. When I returned after two hours, another lady rudely advised me it would be another 2 hours and she'll "try" her best to get this done. When I looked around other workers just shrugged. I was unaware that "squeezing in an appointment" took 4 hours. A couple of hours later again I return and my pup is finished. When I tried to ask them anything they just handed me a pamphlet and just told me all of the info is in there. My pup was still wet, they cut his nails way too short, one looked like there was dried blood on it! At this point I just wanted to get out of there. I left, and took the online survey that the cashier had given me, and all the things it asked me if they did was a big NO! Everyone in the grooming area acted like they didn't want to be there, they didn't know what they were doing, and didn't know how to have a good attitude toward their customers. The store itself is great, but I would NEVER recommend that grooming to anyone. If I could have given 0 stars I would have. read more

Oh. My. God. I always go to this PetSmart, it's the one I like the most, however tonight was extra special. I adopted my shelter dog and took her immediately to get her some fancy new supplies. I got the wonderful coupon book that was offered for adoptees, as well as AMAZING customer service. I was helped by Shane and Iviee, Shane made sure I was getting the best discount I could, and Iviee helped too. They were both so incredible, and kind. Shane even helped us bring our bags outside in the rain and cold. It was so obvious they cared about my new angel just as much as we did, so much so I almost cried in the store. I can't even begin to explain how much I appreciate everything. Thank you Shane, thank you Iviee, we will be back soon!!! read more

I'm giving this salon a one star wishing I could give negative stars!! This is not a review of the groomers that work there this is on the management itself. They do not care about the employees that are single or have a significant others, their focus is only on the ones that are married / kids / school ect... They do not make it a fair working environment for everyone!! My GF works there and has been with petsmart for 14yrs including other states and is being treated unfairly she has no option on what shift she can work when everyone else does! I works graveyards 5 nights a week and barley get to have time with her when all the other groomers have the option to their own shift. PS- take your pets to a salon where the employees are treated with respect among each other. read more

Mason and the other staff I have encountered are great! The dog trainer, Mason B, is knowledgeable, professional, and is passionate about what she does. Tessa (my 2 1/2yo pit/lab mix) and I had our 1st class there last week and I look forward to all the other classes. The employees there helped me save a lot with their price matching and coupons. Mason was compassionate about my dog's sensitivities to food and treats. This is a good store with good people. Lastly, my dog is really energetic and playful but kinda intimidating, I thought they were going to ask me to leave Tessa in the car but they didn't, they actually encouraged me to bring her back... Terrible place to buy fish and the employees are rude and obnoxious. I keep several tanks in a plethora of sizes, planter tanks, goldfish tanks, large community tanks, betta tanks, and I have constantly been berated and given misinformation about how to care for the fish I would like to buy from this store. They have even refused to sell me a fish that they deemed I didn't have the proper setup for it, when I did. A simple google search could have corrected THEIR problem, but they refused. Last week I was accosted by the fish dept employees for wanting to buy multiple female betta's to keep in a large tank with lots of plants and hiding places. I have kept successful sorority betta tanks with the animals living much longer than their life expectancy with no problems but even after getting them to agree to sell me a couple females, then I was told NO by the cashier? I told her PETSMART employees and the internet and my personal experience says I can keep these fish together in my large tank and she flat out refused the sale until she called the dept employees to verify my claims! It was embarrassing as the line formed behind me, I have also been told I could not keep 2 fancy goldfish in a 40 gallon tank. That is also BS!! If you choose to buy fish from these gatekeepers, be prepared to lie to them and exaggerate your tank size by double or they may flat out not sell to you and berate you. read more

I went to Petsmart this afternoon the employees for the most part we're wearing their masks above the mouth and nose but I counted 4 people that worked their who didn't have a mask on their face. The masks were either around their neck or looped around the ears. This is not acceptable in this day and age with COVID-19. People have got to take this seriously. I'm a registered nurse and I don't think I'll go back there again. Governor gave the order yesterday that you wear a mask or be fined. I hope PerSmart management are listening. Brian was very helpful, we needed a ton of items for our new puppy and Brian was ready to educate us on everything from what veterinary schedule of prepaid shots and prepaid spaying, to how to feed this puppy with the highest quality grain free dog food! Brian also saved my 8 week puppy's life by not letting her jump out of the cart and fall onto her back! The cashier Jordan was very professional, and the store is very clean, like how you would expect a store to look when they are grand opening! I went in to buy waste bags for my dogs. The cashier was turned around opening boxes and such, after noticing I was at the counter, he turned around to help me and had plastic gloves on! This is disturbing and disgusting!! He has probably been wearing them all shift, touching everything, up to and including my pet supplies and bag to carry out. Wearing gloves is NOT sanitary! You know what is, washing your hands and using hand sanitizer between customers. Wearing gloves for every transaction is like wearing one condom for multiple sex partners! read more

We were on our way to adopt a dog, stopped in to grab some beginner things and Brian asked us if we needed help and literally made this process 1000x easier than it should have been. He helped us with an adopting kit so we knew what to get and even gave us several options. We live an hour away but honestly I would come back here just because of his exceptional customrr service.
