Well looks like of changes has found a way to increase profits. That's done by decreasing portions but maintaining the high price. If you plan on dining in, be ready for the loud music that many establishments incorrectly think makes their places hip, fresh and what most people want. Ive debated on whether to write this review for almost a week now but I feel like its necessary in light of the horrible food and service. If there were only less than one star..... I tried to keep an open mind when my boyfriend suggested PF Changs for dinner my last night in his town, as I had never been. He worked for the company at another location for a decade and swore it was better quality than I was expecting Turns out, I was right. From the service to the food, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We sat at the bar and while one of the bartenders was very nice, the other was surly, combative and argumentative with my boyfriend. We wanted a nice leisurely dinner, taking our time between courses, and told them that repeatedly but they didn't seem to get it and we finally caved and ordered a few dishes on the promise that they wouldn't come out all at the same time yet they did. I realize it was like 8:30 on a Sunday night but still.... We waited 20 minutes for steamed edamame right off the bat, which should have been a sign. Then we had the salt and pepper calamari and it was awful. My partner confirmed that the pieces of calamari were tiny and the batter was bland compared to what they used to be. It could have been deep fried styrofoam packing peanuts. We got the Vietnamese crab fried rice which was completely bland and unseasoned (and didn't have any of the smoky/crispy bits that i am used to in fried rice) and the orange chicken which seemed to have spent the last fifteen minutes or so baking under a heat lamp. We sat with empty drinks for awhile and ended up just scrapping any hope of an enjoyable experience. It's a beautiful restaurant but its VERY loud from the din of too loud music and too many people. ALSO: The statue of the Buddha propping open the kitchen door?? WOW that's completely disrespectful and I thank the stars our devout Buddhist friend wasn't with us. SHAME!! read more

Brought food home. It was disgusting. Soup was tasteless, wontons were mushy, pork fried rice was bland, and almost totally devoid of any pork. In addition, the Mongolian beef was shoeleather tough. We threw out two large containers of wonton soup, half of the rice, and ate a quarter of the beef until our gums hurt. it was a waste of time, energy, and money. I wouldn't take any food photos out of concern of making you gag. I've eaten better authentic Chinese food in tiny take-out spots than this fancy formula sit-down restaurant. read more

What a disappointment -I am a big fan of P.F.Changs today we ordered dumpling shrimp and pork that were very poorly cooked and did not taste good . The main dish got to the table prior to the first course soup and dumpling . We decided to finish with the fried banana desert and the scotch pudding - the banana cane rotten and cold the scotch pudding never arrived ! Probably my last time here ! read more

Should have read the reviews before ordering! Ordered delivery - and received partial order, charged in full. Mongolian Beef - horrendously over cooked. Bananas Fosters (?) dessert was not included. If I could give no stars I would. Today is by far the worst experience I have had at Pf Changs. I will not ever return. While I understand that restaurants and businesses are short staffed. I get it; I am short staffed as well and as a manager jump in where I have to. I took a lunch break with one of my managers today and decided to go to Pf Changs. Twenty minutes went by ; no server. We began looking around and someone came and gave us some water and explained they were short staffed. We ordered and another 20 min goes by and no food , no server , nothing. We asked for a manager since we only had an hour. The manager came over and explained that they don't even enough staff or food .. blah blah. We asked if we can take it to go and was told sure and there is no charge . Thank you .. we waited another twenty minutes and saw no manager, no server and we left along with several other tables. We left our server a few bucks and said sorry we know it's not your fault. I use to work at PF Changs so I know the process. Poor management from the top down. You don't have it so limit your hours or go back to the planning board. Get your managers to pick up the slack. I won't be back. I have told other coworkers don't bother. Word of mouth is your best advertising.. this is what you get. I frequent lots of restaurants and they all are suffering the same situations and lots of them suffer more because of corporate owned restaurants like this. And I can tell you this I will go give them my business 10 fold because they give and do without the excuses. read more

I've been to many P. F. Changs locations and this is the first time I've been disappointed. Appetizers were fine, drinks fine, but it took a LONG time to get our food, even at a time of day that was not super-busy. The chef on duty does not know how to make noodle dishes. Both the lo mein and the pad thai were dry and flavorless. The pasta was rubbery and had obviously been sitting for some time. I am giving it two stars because the waitress was excellent (Thanks Kristin!) and very patient with our 18-month-old grandson. Also, the manager adjusted the bill based on the unsatisfactory food. They've only been open four weeks, so I'm going to wait a bit and then give them one more try. The management of the kitchen needs to improve!!! read more

PF Changs is one of my favorite chain restaurants, especially for Asian food. The food here was pretty bad-borderline awful for some strange reason. The rice was undercooked along with the broccoli I ordered in my meal. Also the tofu didn't taste right. The only thing that tasted good was the chicken lettuce wraps. We came as a party of 5 for a birthday. We made reservations, and that all was fine. We waited for about 5 minutes to be seated - no big deal. It was about 7 pm and it was extremely busy. I think it was a nearby high schools prom because there were a lot of teenagers dressed to the nines. Anyway, our waitress came after about 6 minutes and she was fantastic. Unfortunately I don't remember her name but she was extremely friendly and even though she was clearly very busy, she was very accommodating and nice. We ordered drinks and they took a bit longer to get to our table than I'd hoped, but again, no big deal. There were no problems with the drink orders (yet). We then ordered some appetizers which were all good and arrived in a timely fashion. When we ordered our meals, we thought everything was fine too. However, myself and one of my other party members ordered a meal of fried rice with lobster and shrimp. To our dismay, the lobster and the shrimp were both fried! We were shocked, because it doesn't say anywhere on the menu description that the lobster and shrimp would be fried. It just doesn't seem right to fry lobster.... We notified our waitress of our problem, and she was very apologetic, took back our food immediately, and asked what we'd like to order as a replacement. We got Mongolian beef, which was pretty delicious. Later, we ordered more drinks and asked for a dash of raspberry chambord in one of them. Unfortunately, instead of giving a dash, the bartender gave about the size of a full shot glass worth in a separate glass to be mixed by us. This was fine, until we received the bill and discovered that we had been charged $12 for the stupid raspberry chambord! We argued that that wasn't we asked for, and they removed it from the bill. The manager, or one of the managers, ended up dropping by our table apologizing for any inconvenience, and gave us all little flyers which gave us a complimentary appetizer next time we visit a P. F. Changs. I thought that was very thoughtful and definitely made for a better overall experience. read more

I've been to PF Changs' in Boulder, Los Angeles, Orlando, and Tampa. They all seem better than the new one at Countryside Mall. I've waited to write this review until we had eaten at PF Chang's Clearwater a few times to be sure of my thoughts. The food is mediocre. I'm not sure why, but it just doesn't seem as flavor intense or as fresh as our prior PF Changs experiences. The hot and sour soup is like a bowl of gravy. Pei Wei has better fried rice (so do 50% of the Chinese restaurants in Pinellas county). My wife doesn't even want to eat here anymore and she loves Chinese food, and always loved PF Chang's other locations. I was there for lunch with friends today. It took us over two hours to eat because the service was so slow. It did not appear to be crowded. BIG delay between soup and entrée, close to 20 minutes or more. This restaurant will not succeed with food and service like this. Too bad. read more

The ambiance is nice, the wait staff is efficient and friendly. Ma po tofu was alright, the broccoli that it came with however was not fresh (frozen & thawed from a $2 bag at the store). The bathrooms were gross and creepy, but there's unlimited refills for water so it evens out. This was a weird experience to say the least. I am not a big fan of Changs, but my wife is. I decided to bring her to dinner to celebrate the end of a long roller coaster week. We got there at 5:15 on a Wednesday. It was moderately busy, nothing that looked completely unusual. Because I'm not a huge fan of Changs, I had a little trouble ordering the first time. once I did, everything truly slowed down. We took the Changs for two with soup and appetizer. I do not eat either one, but my wife did and enjoyed. Then we waited for quite a bit and got our entrées. We got sweet-and-sour chicken, and Mongolian beef. The sweet-and-sour chicken was not as good as normal, but the Mongolian beef was excellent. We were finishing and the waitress thought we were completely done so she started to take our plates. My wife then asked if we could keep the plates for a little bit and bite on them while we decide on dessert. Again, she was gone for quite a bit. Finally, we decided on vanilla cream wontons for dessert. This is just two simple wontons filled with vanilla and has even more vanilla drizzled on. Then we waited, and waited, and waited some more. It was over 20 minutes later until I asked another waitress to find out where our dessert was. I said that I felt like we were being abandoned. At this point we've been in the restaurant for 90 minutes and we were waiting over 20 minutes just for this dessert. That waitress explain that to our waitress was waiting for their manager to make this dessert. She finally comes out with our dessert and I mentioned that I wanted our check and that things seem to be progressing quite slowly. I gave her my card and the gift certificate that my wife had. The next thing I know, she scolded my wife for my comment in through my card at me and said that the manager was just using our guest if you get the rest of it we were not being charged for. She then stormed off. My wife and I looked at each other's time trying to figure out when we had asked for anything to come off the bill. My wife was quite upset by the scolding and especially of the storming off. It's too bad, because the food was good but the waitress apparently has a way to go to learn to deal with situations like ours. Wife and I went over the weekend. Food was ok, but honestly not particularly unique in any way I can point to. General peeve I have with restaurants but would hope Changs would have risen above: they all start out with the tired and completely non-creative introduction of "Hi, I'm ___ and I'm going to be taking care of you..." [sigh] It's so...Applebees. A robot can do this at least as well (and they are making them, dear servers. Don't think they aren't). How about just saying hello and welcome in a natural tone like one might say to a friend and give your name. Full stop. That would be so much classier. My lobster cut roll was pretty tiny. I would say the diameter of the rolls seemed to be nearly a 2/3s the size of the last sushi place I visited. Taste was ok, but nothing really popped and told me I was eating something special, which is the expectation I have for what would appear to be a gourmet Chinese brand. My wife ordered a dish and specifically noted to leave out the mushrooms and even confirmed it at the end of our order with the server. So there was a two-way communication about this point. Mushrooms were included in the meal when it came out. A caring server would have checked the order before bringing it. We would have noted it to the server once it arrived, but we didn't see them in the sauce right away and then she didn't emerge again until we had finished about half or more of our meal. I mean she was nowhere to be seen. I was looking. Also, no spoon came with my wife's saucy meal in order to dish some of it onto her rice. By the time we got one (even asked another server for one since ours was missing), she was done with more than half of her rice. (Manager removed that order from the meal (for the mushrooms) and if that had been only issue, I would have given a 3 star.) The final straw of the evening was when server brought me a refill of my club soda with lime. Only it was a regular water now. read more

One thing that I have always been able to count on at PF Chang's on a weekend night...a crowd. Another thing that always happens...great food. My recent Saturday night visit was no exception to either of those common happenings. However, having a reservation allowed quick seating, in fact, a few minutes prior to my reservation time. Forgive me for not remembering the name of the special. My bad. However, it was a New York strip steak, sliced, sauteed, with a simply outstanding mixed vegetable dish, and brown rice. While not seen well in my photo, the vegetables are between two strips of steak. The taste was quite savory. As I did not have an appetizer on this trip, I indulged in dessert. I had the large Apple Chai Cobbler; warm apples, chai spices, in an oat and coconut crumble, topped with vanilla bean ice cream. To. Die. For. One of the best tasting desserts I have consumed in a long longtime. Our server was fantastic, kept our glasses filled and handled every request with a friendly attitude. Caveat emptor - my review is for the food and service. As other reviewers have noted, finding a convenient parking space can be miserable. read more

The reason for my 5 stars (besides the food, which I love) is that every single time we visit this location we have outstanding service. I have a daughter with a peanut allergy and PF Chang's has a special matrix menu for what she can and cannot eat and they bring the food for her out on special plates. Everyone here is so wonderful and accommodating - they always go out of their way to make us feel like it is safe for her to eat. This particular visit was no exception - wonderful service, yummy food (chicken lettuce wraps, beef and broccoli), and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back! read more

Eating here at the moment. All I have to say is happy hour is a joke. My boyfriend and I ordered the pot stickers. The happy hour potstickers they will not pan fry like the regular appetizer option. We ordered them anyways and when they came out there were only 3 to an order. When I go to happy hour at any other restaurant I am never given half of a portion it's always full portion at half price or just a cheaper price. If your going to give half a portion say in the description how many come I an order. I only come here because I have gift cards that were given to me. Once those are gone never will eat here again.
