I've been on a breakfast kick this week (I usually skip it). so I've tried a few donut shops in the area + this place has by far outshined the others! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with such a warm welcome! as a true southern creole girl, I was ecstatic to see boudain kolaches on the menu! unfortunately, they were out of the spicy option by the time I got there (9:30) so I opted for the original and it was still delicious. the doughnut holes were perfectttt. it was the perfect amount of dough and sugar. most definitely will make the drive and visit again. read more

The breakfast croissant sandwich is DELUXE! 100% recommend that and the donuts, as well. Also snagged a Vietnamese coffee, which had me wired for the next four hours (in a good way). Additionally, the lady working there was super sweet and service was quick. Well recommended! read more

I'm not a koloche person but I needed something quick and Pflugerville donuts have the best koloches and they even snuck a couple donut holes in my order which was very nice. I ended up getting another one because they were so good. They were fresh. read more

A wonderful donut shop with a variety of classics and some new things like the spinach croissant. The lady always remembers my kids and throws in extra treats. The donuts are fresh, light and airy. Not stale or over fried with a weird after taste. Highly recommend them and they have a huge selection of bottled drinks and fresh coffee. read more

I always see this donut shop when I'm in Pflugerville and today I decided to walk on and give it a shot. I was greeted and the lady was very patient with me as I chose my donuts and munchkins. She appreciated my visit and acknowledge it for being my first time by going over the menu. I choose a glazed, chocolate cake glazed, chocolate frosted and sugary donut. I also got a dozen munchkins on the side. The donuts are very delicious. They're light in texture meaning not too doughy and with just the right amount of sweetness. I highly recommend these donuts. I'm looking forward to giving their breakfast tacos a try especially since I was told when you get two tacos you get a donut! read more

his place has the best and most underrated donuts in Metro-Austin! I've been going here for at least 10yrs now and the staff is always nice, welcoming, and fast. Their donuts are more hardy in texture, great for dipping in your coffee. The flavor of the dough is like a semi-vanilla, they're are a variety of types, sizes, and flavors. They also sale breakfast sandwiches and kolaches that are always warm. The atmosphere is kind of eh but it's an in and out kid of place so don't expect to sit. Enjoy! read more

First time trying this cute donut shop by my house! I passed it up because it says they close at noon, but I seen others going in so I had to try them. I got regular glazed,sugar, and white cream filled donut, which was filled on location in front of me! They were so good. I also got a bacon egg & cheese biscuit which was warmed up for me. Everything came to exactly 6$, and was absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly and wear masks, their are social distance tiles in place, and great deals such as buy a dozen get a dozen donut holes free. My husband and I love treating ourselves to breakfast at Pflugerville Donuts! It's a small, Asian-owned family business - where service is always patient, helpful, and very friendly. They have a good selection of donuts and savory breakfast items as well! Our favorite items to order are the breakfast croissant sandwiches, the cream-filled donuts, and the original glazed donut holes. Great place to stop or a quick bite in the morning. Interesting selection of breakfast items and doughnuts. Friendly and welcoming woman at the counter. I had a cream doughnut and a jelly doughnut. Fresh and delicious with a generous amount of filling inside .. so good. I would give this place 5 stars if their coffee was better and if they offered milk or cream instead of creamer. The coffee is not bad .. average. Much better and fresher doughnuts than Dunkin doughnuts and much better prices. read more

I came here to surprise some friends at work with a little breakfast sandwiches. When you walk in, there's some fridges on the left filled with juices, sodas, milk, monster, etc. Then there's the condiment stand for coffee. The place is small and looks like it's owned by a couple. The lady is super sweet. I bought 4 bacon, egg, and cheese croissants and 1 chocolate glazed twist. I didn't want it warmed up since I would eat later. So once I did, OMG!!!!! The bacon tho! Seriously! I'm not a big pork fan, but I'm a fan of the Wilber they use for these sandwiches . Let me tell you, it's so good and very filling. I could've ate two. Lol The chocolates glazed was pretty good also. The sweet lady gave me some free glazed donut holes. I was not a fan of it. It was very airy and light but lacked flavor. It tasted like wasted calories. I definitely will be retuning and next time be sure to take a pic of the scrumptious croissantwhich. read more

We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup, chicken and waffles, and the strawberry and cream waffle with Biscoff spread. Before I get to the food, I want to recognize the excellent customer service. Since it was my first visit, I had quite a few questions. The employee helping us was patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. She walked us through all of the flight options, and let us know that everything was made fresh to order, so there would be a short wait. John "MF'n" Brotherton was a growing tour de force in Central Texas BBQ, holding down the northern…read moreAustin metropolitan area with Brotherton's Black Iron Barbecue. John passed away in early 2024, while his family took over the shop in Pflugerville. Now just about a decade after opening shop, Brotherton's is closing down at the end of August. Following John's passing, they've hit a few road bumps from the rising cost of beef that's been plaguing Texas BBQ. Earlier in January they posted on social media how they were struggling, and again last spring. At the start of August, the Brotherton's family announced Brotherton's Black Iron BBQ in Pflugerville was shuttering for good at the end of August. Knowing this would be the last time I would be able to try it, my buddy and I took an extended lunch break on a Friday to give it a shot. Upon arrival at just around 11:50, we noticed that the parking lot was packed with multiple food trucks and other businesses filling the shopping center. We got lucky with a parking spot far away as we marched inside to wait in line. On the door lay plenty of stickers from different BBQ joints from Texas and beyond, with even some coming from overseas. The line moved slowly but surely, and as we got to the front we got our three-meat plate with a bonus slice of turkey for good measure. We ended up getting to Brotherton's at the perfect time because we got the final slices of brisket on that glorious Friday. I'll share my thoughts on everything we tried: Brisket: Though it looked like a great cut that was nicely seasoned, it was pretty fine overall. Nothing remarkable about their brisket while still very fatty. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage: Juicy, cheesy, not really too spicy on the jalapeño side of things, but that might just be from the mildness of jalapeños these days. Pork Ribs: These suckers looked incredible from the pictures I saw online and on social media, but they were kinda disappointing based on how incredible they looked visually. They were good, just not as epic as I was hoping. Turkey: Turkey is underrated in the BBQ scene, and this is no exception. A nice cut of meat! Cornbread Casserole: I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. Green Chili Mac and Cheese: I'll repeat myself. I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. As a whole, I'm very glad I gave them a shot before I would never be able to again. That's the hardest part about Texas barbecue. The best places and the historic spots can drop in a moment's notice when hardships hit or the meat prices skyrocket. Sadly, I can tell that they're already at the end of their rope with certain menu options like the loaded nachos and baked potatoes, which always seem like the sign of the end. And with how the food was simply just decent overall, it's hard to justify the rising prices. At one point the brought some hot baked dessert (looked like a whole coffee cake) out the oven and it smelled like heaven. The coffees: They have all the regular espresso drinks, and also Turkish coffee and of course Yemeni, their specialty. I had heard great things about Yemeni coffee and was exciting to try it. My first drink, a traditional coffee drink called Jubani ($6) contained coffee but was watery like a tea. It had also ginger and cinnamon. I was not expecting it to be like a tea. I immediately told the cashier I didn't like the drink and would like just an Americano, double shot espresso. I was charged $9 for a 12 oz cup. No cream or sugar, no added flavorings. If I were in charge I wouldn't have charged for this second drink, since it comes at almost zero cost to them and would show good faith and ensure repeat business. Disappointingly, the Americano was also watery and sort of "lemony", but I still drank half while sitting with my friend. I'll say that my friend had some sort of an iced latte that she enjoyed. I might try a second visit and order a Turkish coffee, but I will make sure to have had a full meal before.
