The pad sew ew had that nice balance of savory and slightly sweet, with well-cooked noodles and a good portion size. The panang curry was warm, comforting, and lots of flavor. It also comes with a side of rice making it a really nice dish. Both dishes were delicious and definitely satisfies the Thai food cravings. Service was efficient and the vibe was casual and easy. We came to Phat Thai as part of a dine out deal! Now, it's part of our permanent Thai rotation (especially if you are jonesing for thai without waiting 3 hours). The pad see ew was solid - good smoky flavor and almost equal ratio of noodles to everything else (which is how I like it!). The panang curry was a bit more liquidy than I prefer, but had a really good flavor. The mango sticky rice tasted just like the ones we had in Thailand - sweet/salty coconut cream with sweet mango is always a great combo. We were sad to have missed the nitro thai tea, so we will be back! Don't forget they are closed Tuesday though. read more

Only ever done takeout from Phat Thai but always hits when looking for quick Thai in the Marina.

Got dinner here around 8 pm on a Wednesday. Place was pretty when we came and even by the time we left. We walked in and were told to just pick wherever we wanted to sit. Menus and water were promptly provided. I ordered the pad thai with chicken and my friend ordered the pad kee mao with beef. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes. Pad thai was yummy, good amount of sauce. Lots of bean sprouts and crushed peanuts also. Pad kee mao had really strong basil notes -- probably the most basil taste I've had. Both dishes barely had any protein for the $5 additional charge -- if I knew how much protein I was actually getting, I probably would've just skipped on adding it. Overall a decent Thai spot if you're in the Marina area and don't wanna make the trek elsewhere. read more

I'm giving the food a C- because it generally lacked any real taste or flavor. If I had to guess, most of the ingredients came out of a package or the freezer. For example, the springs rolls were hot but a bit stale and salty. The noodle dish (Pad See Ew) was bland and fried rice - completely forgettable. One highlight - I do think the added vegetables in each dish were fresh. We took home tons of leftovers but they will more than likely go uneaten. I would advice everyone to go somewhere else. I got the pad kee mao and it was delicious!! the spice level definitely surprised me but it was so good with how spicy it was (i love spice!). it was really nice inside with all the decor. and the waitstaff were super attentive! definitely give this place a go if you're craving thai food! read more

I stopped by after a pilates class and was seated by my server Tina at the bar right when I entered. Tina was awesome and a lovely and attentive server. It wasn't quite dinner time so I got a mango sticky rice and the nitro thai tea and both were amazing. The rice was nice and warm and the mango was fresh and sweet. It's a small and cozy restaurant and my food came out very quickly. I was also able to meet Bobby and Ashley who run the restaurant and they were super sweet!! The skin absorbs the soup and it's so tasty. We also ordered delicious Ka Pow Wings which was a special item listed on the board inside the restaurant. The fried calamari that we had was flavorful but a tad too oily. The pad Thai that I saw at another table looked good and deserves to be tried on my next visit. This is a casual restaurant with very good service. They come to check on you and frequently refill water. Parking can be challenging since it's street parking, but we found a spot within a block during lunch time. read more

I liked most of what we ordered, especially the fresh spring rolls ($12) with lots of crunchy romaine, tasty tofu, mint and housemade peanut sauce. Yum. My son's crispy pork and fried rice was delicious but seemed like it was more a Korean pork tonkatsu dish rather than Thai. The rice was especially flavorful and a great complement to the dish. The menu miss - and I was braced for it- was the Lad Na main ($20 + $4 for beef). Not only did it not compare to the old Penny's Noodle Shop in Chicago but it was swimming in gravy like a stew in a glutinous, flavorless beef sauce. Sigh, no. It wasn't good. It also looks different in photos of this dish here on Phat Thai's site if you take a look. Next time, I'll tap Pad See Ew, pineapple fried rice and Pad Thai that all get raves. Service was attentive once we got their attention. It took almost 8-10 minutes to get our table wiped down and given menus and water. After that, smooth sailing. It was my turn to plan date night and I picked this spot for dinner after mini golf at the Palace of Fine Arts. We arrived around 5pm and maybe because it was a holiday weekend but there was a lot of street parking available on a Saturday evening. I usually get hot in Thai places but decided to get medium and it was the same caliber. The food it's self tasted great too! The ka prow side was essentially the same thing they added to the pad kee mao noodles as well. Both were very tasty and reasonably priced. I do which the pad kee mao had the typically sliced chicken pieces instead though.
